Chapter 73: Kiddo
"T-this!" Jang Miyue stuttered. He was shocked to see that person behind them.
The person behind them is wearing denim shorts and a black T-shirt. His cheeks look chubby and had a shade of pink. Just by looking at them makes others want to squeeze it. He is so cute. His head only reaches their chest.
Jang Miyue approaches the kid and asked him. "Hey kiddo, are you lost?"
The kid only looks at him like he is a lunatic. He even rolled his eyes at him and didn't reply.
Jang Miyue was shocked because of the kid's reaction. He looked at the entrance of the building and found that there are four guards guarding the entrance. How did this kid get inside?
"How about you go with this gege(1) and we'll try to find your parents?" Jang Miyue stretched his arm so the kid can hold him and not get lost in the crowd.
The kid just stared at him like a dumb human being and did nothing. Seeing the kid acting this way, Jang Miyue's line of patience is thinning but he is so cute.
This kid ah! I'm trying to be nice here!
"Move your hand, lowly being." The kid spoke.
"Y-you!" Jang Miyue looks like he's gonna breathe out fire from his mouth. The group behind him can already see smoke coming out from his ears.
Feng Xiaoxi typed something to her phone and hit send. Not a second later:
Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!
The group checked their phones and was shock to hear a ring from the kid's phone in front of them. They watch him take out his phone from his pocket and type something to it. This confirmed Feng Xiaoxi's suspicion.
Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!
Nobody just sent a like. Jang Miyue, Meili and Mo Weimei stared at the kid in front of them, their mouth agape with incredulity. Jang Miyue can't just accept this he dashed towards the kid's side and snatched his phone. When he saw the same group chat in the kid's phone it seems like his world is falling apart. He undergoes so much hardship just to join the team and this kid actually got this lucky?!
Jang Miyue gave the phone back like an inflated balloon. The kid took it with a handkerchief on his hand, afraid to be contaminated with the lowly being's dumbness.
"Alright, introduce yourself." Feng Xiaoxi said to Nobody. She is eager to know this kid who just popped up from nowhere.
"You guys can just call me Meursault," Meursault said with a French accent. He wiped his phone with his handkerchief and sprayed alcohol on his hands after. "Shouldn't we suppose to apply for registration now?"
"Right, let's get going."
(1) Gege means older brother in mandarin.
The name Meursault comes from Albert Camus' The Stranger.
