Chapter 2: A New Life
Seconds later a group people that, to Ye Sakura looked like they were wearing white robes, came into the room and walked right up to the side of her "bed" surrounding it.
"Doctor! She's Awake! She's Awake!" exclaimed the girl repeatedly to the eldest looking man of the group.
"Alright, let me take a look," he said to the girl before turning his gaze to Sakura and bringing a weird object to her eyes which then turned into an extremely bright light that causes her to flinch. "Sorry about that, it was a test to see your alertness. As it seems you are indeed awake let me ask you a few questions. Please blink once for yes and twice for no. First question: Can you blink?"
Ye Sakura decided there was no reason not to respond even though she was still unsure of where she was or who these people were so she blinked once.
"Good, alright, now I would like to ask if you know who you are?" the doctor asked.
Sakura was slightly confused by the question but since she did know who she was she blinked once.
"Ok, this next question is just to confirm, is your name Ye Sakura?"
So, they know my name? Seeing how they already knew there was no point hiding it so she blinked once.
"Ok, good, now let me ask you do you know this young lady?" he said while pointing at the girl that was calling her "Sis."
Because she really did not know her she responded honestly with two blinks. Then seeing the look of shocked horror on the young girl's face, Ye Sakura felt her heart clench. She did not know why she reacted this way to seeing that expression on the face of a stranger but regardless she did.
"Do you know what this place we are in now is?" the Doctor continued to question.
She did not know this either so she blinked twice.
"Doctor, what's wrong?" the young girl asked in a pleading tone whilst tears started to fall from her eyes again.
"Miss Ye, if you would please follow me to my office," the doctor stated with an apologetic look on his face then looked at Ye Sakura. "We will be right back." Then the group along with the young girl who looked dazed left the room.
"She has the same family name as me?" she thought.
The second she was left alone in the room an old man with long white hair, a long white beard, and pristine white robes (the kind of robes Ye Sakura had actually seen before) appeared out of thin air and was floating above her in a sitting position with his legs crisscrossed.
Ye Sakura's survival instincts kicked in and tried to defend herself only to remember she could hardly move one of her fingers at the moment. She sighed and hoped this floating old man wasn't dangerous.
After a few second of him just floating there looking like he was meditating he opened his eyes and then Sakura, without seeing his mouth move, heard him speak as if he was speaking inside her head. "So, your finally alone, not that it would have mattered anyways as no one else would have been able to see me, but I wanted your undivided attention."
"Who is this old man," Sakura thought.
"Who am I? Old Man!? I am not an old man! Call me Lord Masao! Got it little girl!" she heard the voice in her head again as she saw the look of anger on his face.
Lord Masao saw the confused look in the girl's eyes and then sighed. "I am currently using telepathy to communicate with you seeing as you don't seem to be able to talk at the moment."
"Oh…" Sakura thought. "Then what do you want with me mindreading old man?"
"You…," Lord Masao half smiled in anger but decided to ignore it this time. "I am here to explain a few things to you about your current situation. Normally you would be left to figure this out on your own but the higher ups deemed what this girl is supposed to do something super important and wanted me to help you move things along. Ah, that's right. I think you might have noticed by now but you died in a battle and have now been reincarnated into another's body."
Hmmm, she thought, not really believing him until she thought about the girl she didn't recognize claiming to be her sister as well as the strange devices in the room and on her face that she had never seen before.
"It's like this," Lord Masao began to explain. "This girl, Ye Sakura, happens to be one of your brother's descendants from over one thousand years in the future from your era. She was named after you due to having pink hair like you did in your previous life which as you know is very rare. Not to further along in the future this girl was supposed to accomplish something very important but an unforeseen incident happened and she ended up in a coma for two years before she died. The higher ups then decided that in order to have the important events still happen they decided we should reincarnate someone in her body to make sure it still happened. And that someone is you."
"Great…," was all Sakura could think.
