Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Become My Disciples

Darien and Aviana slowly opened their eyes. Dean Aisuru, who was busy contemplating the powerful mana ripples that he had just felt, was unable to notice. If he was paying attention then he would have been suspicious at the twins' simultaneous awakening. If that was a coincidence then he would have been curious at the faint mark that had flashed over the twins' foreheads. Fortunately for them, this sly old man saw them as insignificant in comparison to the mana ripples that he had just felt. Otherwise, they would have been in grave danger. Of course with Elaine and Mark around it would have only been danger and wouldn't have been enacted.

As the old man slowly calmed his heart, he was finally able to notice that the two had awoken. He immediately put on a warm smile however it had a tinge of superiority and dignity of a senior this time. "Hahaha, it would seem as if the heavens favoured you two! To think that you would be able to obtain the legendary Copper Skin and Iron Bones!" He had said it as a jest but little did he know that it was indeed the truth. Although it hasn't happened due to his scheme, it had happened nonetheless. As he inspected the two he couldn't help but feel happy. The two did indeed have great potential, therefore, their physiques had improved by a terrifying amount due to the Potential Destroying Poison. He felt that his two Heart Calming Medicines wasn't a waste at all but was absolutely worth it. Naturally, he would still treat them as his subordinates or maybe even his slaves but now if he was able to rise in the future he didn't mind investing some resources to help the two of them grow. Just thinking about had made his eyes grow into slits.

"Are you okay Instructor? Your eyes have become slits!" Aviana worriedly asked. Hearing this Dean Aisuru guffawed loudly, "I'm just extremely happy at your potentials. With you, two around my Kaishi Martial Arts School might truly stand a chance!" "Your Kaishi Martial Arts School?" Darien had caught on to the important information. "That's right. I am the Dean of the Kaishi Martial Arts School. So what do you two say, will you become my disciples?" The Dean was so happy that he had not noticed Darien's sharpness otherwise he would have been alarmed. A six-year-old child that was able to catch on slight changes in speech would probably grow up to become a terrifying existence. Not that he would have been afraid of such a thing since a smart person without the ability to turn World Energy into mana would be of no threat to him. Nevertheless, it would have still made the life of the two a little bit worse.

"Of course we do!" the two answered in unison. Their faces glowed with happiness. Contrary, to their ecstatic appearance, the two couldn't help but roll their eyes secretly. "Old man you tried to poison us yet now you want us to become your disciples? How shameless!" they thought to themselves. If it wasn't because of the boundless resources that they would be given as the Dean's disciples they would have definitely rejected the old man's offer. Dean Aisuru laughed heartily once he heard their response. In his eyes, these two were just inexperienced children. There was no way that they would have been able to see through his evil heart, he thought.

"Very well, as my disciples, you must be able to uphold the honour of the Kaishi Martial Arts School. However, you can't do that without powerful martial skills. Do you know what martial skills are?" Dean Aisuru knew that the two would probably not know what they were but it was better to be safe. As such he probed them for any information related to martial skills. If he was to find out that they knew about martial skills then he wouldn't hesitate to kill them immediately. As a man who was able to survive in the martial world, he was very decisive in killing the roots to prevent any problems from blooming.

When he saw the two shake their heads he finally relaxed his taut nerves. Now he was sure that these two didn't have any background so it was unlikely that he would suffer any consequences. He secretly let out a sigh of relief before explaining, "Martial skills are what practitioners use to be able to condense all their power into a strike. This way they would be able to use their full combat power. Practitioners who don't practice any martial skills will not go far in the martial world. There are three grades of martial skills that I know of, Mortal, Earth and Sky with Sky being the highest grade. The higher grade martial skills are able to draw out more of your power. Naturally, a practitioner proficient in using a Mortal Grade martial skill can still easily beat a none proficient user of an Earth or even a Sky Grade martial skill. However in the case that both practitioners had the same proficiency in their respective skills, then the higher graded skill would win 100% of the time. This does not take into consideration the person's cultivation base of course."

The old man suddenly got into a horse stance as he told the two, "Watch carefully, I'm about to show a Low-rank Mortal Grade skill called Stampeding Horses." Once he finished his words he immediately exploded with an amazing amount of power. His silhouette blurred before reappearing two feet in front of Darien and Aviana. He was no longer in a horse stance, instead, he had transitioned into an attack stance. His fingers were bent like the claws of a tiger and his legs were storing a massive amount of energy that could be released anytime. His aura had suddenly transformed into a wild and bloodthirsty aura. Darien and Aviana thought that a real tiger was standing in front of them, gazing at them ready to pounce.

"That was called Roaring Tiger Fist. Once you have achieved full mastery your fists will produce the roars of tigers," Dean Aisuru explained as he straightened his back, "Any questions?" Darien and Aviana, who were deeply shocked, quickly recovered. "Master, you mentioned Low-rank Mortal Grade martial skill. What is that?"

"Ah, I forgot to explain that. Each grade is split into three ranks, they are Low-rank, Medium-rank and High-rank martial skills. Beyond that is called the intent realm. That is because after High-rank martial skills are capable of producing intent but that something that you don't need to know yet."

"Master, what are differences between each rank?" Aviana asked

"There is barely any difference. Actually, most practitioners use the ranks as a way to test a person's proficiency in a certain martial skill. This is because every martial skill can be divided into these three ranks, the higher your proficiency the more power and therefore the higher the rank. These ranks were initially invented by Martial Clans, who wish to control the strength of the martial skills that they gave to certain clan members and powerful practitioners who created a new unfinished skill. Alright, that's enough. Take these and start practising here. I'll take you back into the school once your residences are organised." He handed them four scrolls and immediately left.
