Chapter 22: 22. mmm swiss bank account!
"Raven will be asleep a while longer, let's get your swiss account taken care of. The minimum you need is 1 million dollars to open an account, there is no maximum you can deposit. However they will look into your background for any pending criminal charges. If there are none then they dont really care. As for how to deposit so much money, well they don't care if you are a mutant as long as the cash is real. They are a business after all." She explains before opening a portal.
We walk through and she starts speaking to one of the managers rather quickly before we are escorted to a different room.
It's a very expensive fancy room filled with high quality furnishings I'm even slightly afraid to touch.
"Welcome ancient one, I see you've brought a potential customer." The manager says with a slight bow.
Apparently they know her.
"Jack here used to learn magic at one of the sanctums up north, afterwards he became a banker and helps out the sanctums with cash issues such as large deposits, stocks, etc." She explains.
"Pleasure to meet you, are you a master in training?" The man in the suit asks holding out his hand.
"Kind of however most of the time I attend school and just help solve a few problems here and there." I explain with a smile and shake his hand.
"Great, now how can I be of help today?" He asks sitting down.
"A safety deposit box and an account would be perfect, also if you could help him register to purchase and sell stocks on the appropriate site." The ancient one says.
"Certainly, I'll need your identification papers to do a small background check then the basic deposit of 1.05million dollars if you are from the US." He requests.
I pass him all the relevant paperwork and he quickly does his job.
"We accept gold, silver, platinum, diamonds, stocks, and cash here, at the appropriate exchange price. It will all have to be tested of course, so what might you be depositing today." He asks.
"Gold." I offer as even if I make the cash I dont know of the serial numbers are going to be copied or not and checked.
"Perfect. Please follow me." He says standing up and heading for a back room.
It's an empty room but it leads to the outside so deliveries could be dropped off.
"If you could neatly pile everything here please." He says before turning around.
I wave my hand and stacks of perfect gold bars appear.
Approximately 10,000 bars at 1 pound each.
"Okay." I tell the man who turns back around and eyes the gold.
He brings out a tablet from his phone and soon several workers arrive and start moving the gold into crates and driving them off.
"It will take a couple of hours for each bar to be individually tested. We need to cut out a small core and test it to make sure of the purity and then we will give you the appropriate price. Currently 1 pound of gold is worth..." he taps on his phone. "$17,898 Us dollars. I am correct to assume you wish for it to be in Us currency?"
"Correct." I nod.
We head back to the office.
"Your check book, and card will arrive in the mail on 5 to 7 business days. This is the account information, you can check your balance on the phone app or online. You've been registered at the American stock exchange along with multiple others. You need to input a passcode and password." He rotates his monitor and I input the information.
Basically the man just gives me a ton of information and a complete portfolio and other papers to sign. Ugh I hate paperwork.
Anyway the trade off of having a secure secret bank account is that I dont make much if any money on interest.
By the time we are done I'm rather tired of paperwork already.
"You should see funds in your account by the end of the day Mr.Grim. It was a pleasure doing business with you." Jack says shaking my hand. "If you ever need to make another large deposit please ask for Jack Lebou in the lobby and you'll be directed to my office."
"Much appreciated." I smile before stepping into the portal the ancient one made.
"Paperwork eh?" She says with a smile.
"Never had to deal with it much." I admit.
We sit down back at the table and the ancient one heats up some more tea and passes me a paper.
"What this?" I ask.
"Questions Wanda needs help with, this should explain things to her easier." Ah I forgot she can see the future and all that jazz.
I fold up the paper and store it in my spatial ring.
"So how is Forge doing?" I ask about the Indian inventor.
"Perfect, he has started gorging himself on knowledge and is quite talented. He will become a powerful Technomage in the future." She says with a smile.
"Nothing I have to worry about right?" I ask her.
"No, he isn't evil or anything like that. I would hate for you to have to kill him off in the future so I've pointed him in the right direction." She says sipping the now fresh tea.
"Great. He seemed like a decent fellow." We sit quietly and enjoy the tea for a while longer before there is a commotion from the other room.
A minute later Mystique walks out still looking pretty bummed out. Well I didnt expect her just to recover instantly, being betrayed by one of her oldest friends, and mind fucked until she was a different person is kinda hard to recover from.
"I've given you one of my abilities, it's a mental shield so that no one can enter your mind, not even me. Well I say no one but there are some gods and higher beings who probably could I cant do much about those guys." I tell the blue woman. "As for Magneto you no longer need to worry about him."
"What? Why?" Mystique asks confused.
The ancient one answered for me. "He was deemed a threat to the world and disposed of along with the one called Sabertooth and Pyro." She states calmly. "His hatred for humanity ran far too deep and his future plots would have endangered the world multiple times over."
