Chapter 2: Summer- part one

Two months of summer there and then I come here to the news that there is still one month of school left for summer vacations in America. This gave birth to the longest vacation I have ever had- five months of summer. I moved here after the second month of vacation. The first month of summer was spent productively in my volleyball summer camp. I went to the camp at 7am and came back at around 9am. After that I usually spent my time with my grandparents in their new house. The second month became exciting. The visa interview was this month. My parents' devotion to God increased and the intensity of my grandmother's prayers was tremendous. My younger sister was very excited to leave this "dirty old place" that we lived in and make "cool new friends". Everyone wanted to come here except me. I didn't want to leave my house and my friends and my grandparents and move to a place so far away from them. I wasn't ready to let go of Claire. The "best-est" friend I will ever have. In contrast to these thoughts and my half heartedness towards this, I was the only person to show the least emotion. I just stayed quiet and sometimes shut myself out with the company of these thoughts. I have this weird thing. Whenever I think of something going to happen, the exact opposite of it happens ALL THE FUCKING TIME. If I expect a good grade, I almost fail the test and therefore I have to always think pessimistic for stuff to happen right. This started to scare me. Everyday got closer to the day of the visa interview and I helped myself practice to stay in the present and not think of what will happen next. It surprisingly worked and we got the visa and we marched home like victorious pigs (not literally but you get the feeling). I was happy, sad, confused and all the feelings one could ever experience. Farewell parties were organized and lots of crying- not me. Claire. Her mother also cried for me. I felt bad. This was the craziest thing that ever happened to me.
