Chapter 0: Prologue
Thousands of years ago, darkness ran rampant across the land. Devouring all in its path. Nearly consuming the world in its entirety. The world was a single step from disappearing forever when a single light appeared to combat the darkness.
This light, stemming from but a single group of exceptional individuals, shined with an unparalleled brilliance. It was from the actions of this group that the darkness was eventually driven back to a small corner.
With the world steadily returning to its peaceful state, the individuals parted ways and disappeared. Thus, the tale of heroes concluded and was relinquished to the pages of history.
As the years passed the story slipped from the pages of history, into the realm of legend. Then further did the heroic tale fall, being considered a mere myth before residing as just an old folktale. Eventually it was forgotten, erased by the ravages of time, only to linger in the memories of the extremely old and eccentric.
One such mind was the elf, the last living remnant of the group of heroes. As he lay on his death bed, with his final dying breath, he proclaimed,
"When … the world … needs …, Th … T… They will return!"
And with that, the elf joined his friends and their story in the embrace of the past.
