Chapter 7: REAL OWNER OF THE NECKLACE.
"Hey Jeff am here, " she announced her presence waving her hand "are you gonna hug each other the entire day ?please, I feel so alone and abandoned right now."
"Right, I forgot about your friend Jeff, will you kindly introduce us " Jackson had a very warm smile Jeff on the other side felt like he's grown maggots stuck with him no matter what and it was becoming unbearable.
"let's start shall we" Jeff commenced the introduction with a plastic smile smeared all over his face.
" Melody meet Jackson, Jackson is a brother to me, a friend, a father figure and above all he is a savior of my life twice now " he then stared at his brother with sencere affection ,lovingly ,then walked two step to stand next to his brother but Jackson ran away from him to stand next to Melody begging her to restrain Jeff from hugging him again.
Melody stood in front of Jackson in a protective manner. wearing on her face puffed cheeks pretending to be tough which prompted Jeff to stop and stare, he saw Melody as love rival and hated her more
Jackson was sure to have seen some pain in his brother's face which was soon covered by a rare smile, thinking -that maybe, Jeff was jealous of the close touchy contact between himself and the girl he quickly moved away from Melody and asked for the introduction since Jeff had only introduced only one side
"Okey then, we shall continue, Jackson meet Melody a thief , a lier, a criminal and a glue "
Jackson"...."
were they not hugging just awhile a go? What kind of relationship is this, they are together or not?
"Whaaat ? did you know that your brother is a fool, I had to wash him , change him feed him and I also bought him clothes not to mention that am doing his laundry who between me and him is all the things he has just listed? !" Melody was annoyed as a matter of fact.
"Are you guys related? !"
She was turning red with anger and Jeff was staring at her in a dismissal way, like he was saying your usefulness is over get going, they looked so alike in so many ways
"How can the two people who were hugging and crying in each others arm only a few minutes ago be the biggest of enemies in the next minute are you playing with me ?"Jackson was feeling offended he wanted to be discharged from the hospital and how could he if the one processing his release is now in a fight.
"Stay here with my brother I will go get him discharged then I will release you if you know what I mean"She knew what he meant alright but had changed her mind and now she wanted the necklace plus the man wearing it. Jackson on the other hand was in the dark, a place he was willing to come out from at all cost, he took Melody by her hand and pulled her to sit together on a foam just below the window, he wanted to interrogate her before his brother comes for them.
"why are you breaking up?!"
"we were never together in the first place, we are not a couple, we... I .... Please ,let your brother explain I better get going , happy recovery Jackson please be well, I wish you good health."
"Thanks, my brother wanted you to wait why don't you? besides I need a female touch my wife just passed away and I miss her, if you guys are not a couple anymore then be with me, I need you" Jackson was only making a conversation to prolong or rather keep her around till jeff comes back ,but Melody was sizing him hungrily.'he wants a distraction huh some nerves he got, hmmm some toys to play with and get rid of the pain of losing his wife? what does he take me for? is he crazy? this is rude... what does he take me for? I hope his brother values humanity better than him because I've already chosen him as my target, he can play hard to get all he wants but he will soon be mine'
Jeff was approaching, a beautiful smile on his face the doctor gave him good news obviously and that made him so happy
let's have an early lunch it's on me " Jeff announced happily
I prefer home cooked food, let's go to my place and Melody is cooking " Jackson replied casually
" Calm down Melody, don't get too excited , there are servant for that ,my brother is obviously interested in you , I am not going to allow it unless you tell him everything about yourself , you can have it( giving her the necklace) and join us for lunch then you must disappear from our lives..."
Jeff was about to continue with his hate speech when the necklace he was handing over to Melody got snatched from his hands by Jackson, his expression Emmit in nostalgic ,never saying a word , he took and just pocketed it in his side pocket then matched silently towards Jeff's car.
What was with the neck chain? it was old and unpolished it wasn't attractive at all. Jeff knew that reaction, he was well aware that Jackson was mad at him for giving it out like that, he had given it to him on his 20th birthday as a gift and instructed him to protect it with his life, was handing it over not being forgetful?
The mood was awkward and freezing, they ate in silence the maid brought tea and drinks ,each took their preferences and continued sipping in silence.
Two hours of silence treatment started and the war seemed to have no near ending, Melody who was not used to this decided to crack a joke but ended up in her own disadvantage because it lead to Jeff erupting giving Jackson an advantage over them.
Ten years ago the same necklace had brought them chaos,he knew what it was to them and he was enjoying the show not wanting the show to end...the part where Jeff was accusing her of being a thief was the beginning of everything, its what he wanted to know even though Melody was apparently stealing from Jeff, she was innocent and didn't know that she was ideed the thief, Jackson was so curious to unravel this mystery that he did care hurting them both...for starters, today he would give it to the girl and see how it goes .
