Chapter 3: The day we were supposed to meet!!

Today both of them had flights. John flew to New York, where as Anna flew to Ohio.
John reached her apartment in Lower Manhattan to surprise Anna. He knew by this time she will be back home from work. He rang he bell while his hands became all sweaty due to nervousness. He had lots of things going on his mind as he thought he would see Anna after so many many months. With the thought itself he couldn't stop smiling. He could imagine Anna opening the door and hugging him. Suddenly his cloud of thoughts busted when he saw a middle age woman.
John was loss at words. 'Did he came to the wrong apartment?'
"Linda, who is at the door?" , Granny asked.
After hearing John's voice then only he could relax as he did not come to the wrong house.
"Granny, it's me John." John said as he entered the apartment.
"Where is Anna, Granny?" John kept looking around the house to see no one else was there.
Granny became shocked seeing John as Anna just went to him and he came here. She explained John about the situation.
Same Day in Ohio, after leaving her luggage in her old house, Anna went directly to meet John in his hospital. But unfortunately John was not on duty. The receptionist said John has taken a month's leave and went. Anna got nervous as John never mentioned anything like to her.
Anna received a call from Granny, ' Oh no in excitement, I forgot to tell granny that I have reached safely' she thought.
"Hello, granny sorry I forgot to call you as soon as I reach, but you know Granny is not here, he left without informing. He has never done this before, you just see Granny, I will not forgive easily for this time no matter what... hmph."
"..." No sound on the other could be heard.
"Sorry, what can i do so that you will forgive me." John's voice was heard from the other end.
Anna was startled, she couldn't believe her ears. She double check he phone to see the caller Id, it was from her granny not John then how...
Later John explained the situation, and Anna could not help but laugh at both of their silliness. Anna decided to book tickets tomorrow and fly to New York. She was still happy as John still loved her so much and wanted to spend her birthday with her that's why he took one month vacation. She was touched by the thought. She went to bed early with sweet thoughts about meeting John tomorrow. On the other hand, John was also touched that Anna went to meet him as he knew that it was not easy for Anna to get a holiday. His love and affection increased for her more.
