Chapter 21: Messages
Chapter twenty one
As the spring wind caressed the blooming flowers, Sayo walked into the vibrant meadows and gathered a selection of delicate blossoms for Arya. Everyone in the camp was busy, and Leonardo and Frank in Leonardo's tent, agreed on a plan of attack.
According to the plan, they were supposed to ensure that all the coins and trophies they get are distributed to all the people in four villages, hoping to plant a seed of hope in the hearts of the people. Also Leonardo wanted people to see him as a symbol of freedom and resistance and liberation from oppression. He wanted to be known throughout the country. And on the other hand, the truth behind Leonardo's plan was not just to recover the heavy taxes and distribute them among the villagers or to be recognized as a symbol. Rather, by doing this, Leonardo wanted to give a message to Romero. A message containing the point that his dictatorship is coming to an end.
Leonardo gathered his men including Arthur, Rose, Fred, Robert, Joe, Sayo, Arya, Richard, Sina, Johan, Gregor and Elena to get ready for the battle. None were injured anymore. Everyone rode their horses and went to the jungle in order to surprise their enemy.
It was late afternoon and Leonardo and his men went to the place where they wanted to implement the plan. All the fighters of the group were ready for battle. All of them were hiding between the trees of the forest. And then at the right moment, they attacked the agents who were responsible for transferring the coins.
In this attack, Sayo, Aria and Richard cooperated well and supported each other. Arthur and Fred forced the agents to retreat with the power they showed.
The victory was won very easily and no one was hurt.
Sina had taken one of the agents alive on Leonardo's order. Leonardo went to the officer and said with great authority: "Tell your king that he cannot continue to be cruel like his father. I, Leonardo, will put an end to his dictatorship and I will make my name last in history."
Then they let the agent run to the capital.
Then they counted the money and Leonardo put four people in charge of distributing the money among the villagers. Those four were Johan, Gregor, Robert and Fred.
The rest returned to the camp and celebrated. Everything had gone according to plan and they were happy about it.
Sayo gave Arya the flowers he had collected. Sina was preparing dinner in a corner. Arthur and Richard were practicing and Elena and Joe were sitting by the fire and talking. Rose, on the other hand, had concerns about her brother who had become king.
"He is an unpredictable narcissist. A man with great ambitions." This is how Rose described her brother to Leonardo
"I have a great purpose and dreams. Just like Korosh and Alexander, I will make my mark on this world. Romero is just a small obstacle. I know how to deal with him just trust me." Leonardo said so to calm Rose.
Night came and Sayo and Arya were sitting by the fire and Arthur was practicing with Elena. Arthur seemed tireless. Robert and Fred and Johan had done their job by giving the money to the villagers and made it to camp.
Gregor was the last to enter, his face etched with shock and anger. The anger and sadness that could be seen on Gregor's face worried the camp members. He dismounted and recounted the horrors he had seen. The village he had visited to distribute the money, had been destroyed and its inhabitants brutally slaughtered.
The village that Gregor went to was actually the village of Arya.
Sorrow engulfed Arya's heart in mourning the loss of her village, a victim of king Romero's wrath. Arya started crying and Sayo hugged her and sympathized with her.
Joe: "Why? How did Romero know that they had helped us?"
Yohan: "He probably has informers between the villages."
Frank :" He is way more dangerous and cruel than his father."
The destruction of Arya's village was a calculated move by the king, intended to strike fear into the hearts of those who might have sympathized with Leonardo's cause. Romero wanted People to live in constant fear and be afraid to support those who stand up to the oppressive regime.
Arya's sadness turned into steely determination. She vows to fight alongside Leonardo and Sayo to avenge her village and all the innocent lives he lost at the hands of King Romero. Their path had become darker, crueler, but the fire within them burned brighter than ever.
The depth of Prince Romero's malice was revealed. By wreaking havoc on the innocent, he had only strengthened the will of those who sought to overthrow him. But on the other hand, it created a terrible fear in the hearts of these people.
Now it remains to be seen whether the people will be angered by this unfortunate incident and unite with Leonardo or remain silent out of fear so as not to be angered by Romero.
Both Leonardo and Romero had given each other a message and both had started their movement.
