Chapter 2: Blood Secret of Profound Words

As I walked through the snowy wasteland, my breathing became even more ragged than when I started and my legs were conditioned by the weight of a thousand pound boulder, not letting me move it to reach my destination. My feet grew numb from the frostbite that ate it away, tearing at my very being. But I ignored the pain or more I was used to it, the countless hours of walking and walking wondering if my inevitable end was soon. Yet, I persisted knowing that if I stopped it would surely be soon.

And even from traveling for such a long time through my life, I still could not understand why I was here and why I have never seen anybody. It was all too confusing to grasp. I could only debate sadly. I sighed. when would this journey come to an end?

After my inner debate I soon saw another cave within my view, fear and anxiety soon left the confines of my body, like being told you were perfectly healthy and had no reason to fear a disease. When I went to the inside of the familiar home, the symbols started glowing and I laid down with my healed body on the cold surface of the stone floor, closing my heavy eyes that sought out the land beyond consciousness.

Civilization and other living beings like cats, dogs, horses, etc entered my dreams. I was captivated by the want to be apart of all this. I soon came across a brick building with a sign that said "GLEN'S BAKERY, THE FINEST BAKER". I decided to enter and saw someone at the desk and many chefs and ovens. I was amazed at the scene and the foreign scent that entered my nostril and into my nasal cavity. After taking in the new sensations I realized that there were other people, REAL PEOPLE! I ran to the employee to order some bread and more importantly communicate but right as I was about to an invisible wall blocked me, teasing me, giving me a gold bar but decided to take it back right as it was in my grasp. Anger swelled up in me and I punched and punched and banged against the screen but to no avail. After that didn't work I try screaming. I screamed 'till my throat hurt. I slumped down laying against the wall, this was the sad truth.

Blackness overcame my vision, transitioning to another dream. This time I had a wife and children, we lived happily in a cabin. It was early morning while the dew was still on the grass and I woke up to the smell of fresh bread. Quickly I rushed out of my bed, got dressed and went to the dining area where my family would greet me. But when I got there what I saw wasn't my family but a horrific scene of them being killed by robbers. Before I knew what was happening I rushed at the masked men but they stabbed me too, keeping me from what I wanted most.

I staggered up from sleep, sweat forming on my body and beads of water rolling down the surface of my face. I cursed. Cursed at the injustice of the world! Within moments I calmed myself down and put my hands on the floor to lift myself. As I was almost standing my legs gave out and I fell forward, scraping my knee on the floor. I looked, seeing my blood spill touching the symbols and they absorbed my blood. What? How? I was perplexed as to how that could happen. I even started breathing faster from the shock of the secret. Wait. Calm down. Deep breaths. Deep breaths. Okay, I should see what happens if I let more blood spill, so I did. Within an instant the symbols absorbed my crimson red blood that flowed from my knee cap. The very things that

happened next left me speechless, the symbols that looked like an ancient language came out from the cave and took rest on my arm, engraving themselves within almost like a tattoo. Startled, I tried to scratch it off but to no avail the symbols stayed etched into my skin.

"Every path has twists and turns."

"Every risk has a reward."

"Nothing is without unknowing."

"Nothing is with certainty."

"There is an exit but nothing after."

This riddle echoed in my head. I was confused. Why would a riddle pop in my head? Maybe it had to do with something in the future, but for now can't focus on this, I must get to the other cave before night falls. So I headed out and took one last look at the cave which held many mysterious that may never be solved. I could only sigh, looking beyond the horizon to continue my adventure onward.

In time I looked as the sun started to meet the edges of the world and all bright light would soon leave. The beautiful seen calmed my every being. Wait night? "S****!" NO NO!" I ran as fast as I could before the sunset would happen for the after effects of not reaching the cave would catch up to me. I cursed myself for being so stupid and not realizing it was getting dark earlier. I started breathing faster, my legs hurt from all the running. Before I could reach even a glimpse of the cave, liquid started coming from the cloudy horizon, touching the skin of my body.

SSTZZZ!! CRRRACKK!!

Beams of light fell from the heavens, one aiming its way right at me as if it had a mind of its own. I ran and tried to dodge, falling on the ground, barley avoiding my death.

BOOOOM!!!

Another strike of lighting hit right next to me as if it were a hawk swooping down from the sky to catch its long awaited prey. I shivered from the scene of being so close to death. Quickly, I got up and ran with what little energy I had left in me. Soon the cave reached my eyes. "YES, IM CLOSE!" But as if the heavens themselves didn't want me to be successful, my legs gave out. "NO, NO!! BASTARDS! IT CAN'T END HERE!" Water started leaking out of the sockets of my eyes, touching my rose red cheeks. Ironically I started to laugh, "ha if god doesn't want me to reach my goal then what the hell am I suppose to do, DAMNIT!" I punched the ground out of anger and finally took rest accepting my fate.

Maybe it should've ended sooner.

Maybe this is how its meant to be a meaningless life.

Maybe I'm not suppose to do anything and be useless.

These thought corroded my head.

"Every path has twists and turns."

"Every risk has a reward."

"Nothing is without unknowing."

"Nothing is with certainty."

"There is an exit but nothing after."

"Meaning is lost but the end is only after lost hope."

These profound words ringed in my ears once again. Though it only may be a little of what these words meant, I knew that they said live on and an answer or something worth meaning will appear but first you must survive. Inspired by the message or possibly my I started crawling my way through ignoring the pain that reverberated through my entire being. Soon after I reached my destination. The cave. I crawled my way inside the ever so familiar shelter and saw the ever so magical symbols do their work.

Surprisingly, the blood that spilled from my body did not instigate any reaction from the symbols. I was bewildered on why but I could not sort a reason. All I could think that it was a one time use. Or the symbol tattoo on my arm had some role in this entire mess.
