Chapter 1: Stormy Night
The swooshing of the winds are alarming me of the coming storm but, I don't mind. For I am a wind elementalist, living in the island of Bivania, I am really not from this place, my adoptive parents told me, that they found me, when they were tending to the Crystals that protect our island. I was at a little boat and was crying. They turned off the shield on the portion where the boat was stucked, and let me in. At first they were not sure if they would raise me as their child because they sensed a great deal of elemental magic in me.
The people of Bivania are not elementalists, they are more on Arcane magic but, they still raised me as a Bivanian. It was hard growing up here because I was different, Still my parents were always there to support me, So it was a bit tolerable.
"Vale, come down here or I'll summon all the energy on this island to make you eat dinner!" that was my Mom Andorra, a dutchess, and really good at arcane magic. As i look down at her from the roof of the tower I'm up, i cant help but smile, because i really love my mom.
"Coming Mom".. I ordered the wind to carry me down where my mother is. and i see her grumpy face turn into that of the adoring one I always love.
"Come here, you rascal, let's eat dinner, Apparently there's a storm heading this way. Your father is on duty taking cre of the shields. so you need to accompany me to dinner" my mom said.
"but, I thought we woukd eat our dinner here, at our house".
"Nope, we would be dining with the Vorliks this night. You know they have a lovely daughter, I hear that she's quite the beauty."
"Mom, i thought that we made a decision for you to not meddle in my affairs"
"nope, I dont meddle, but i am guiding you." then Mom winked at me, which makes me a bit angry. why does she always try and pair me up with someone. People here dont like me because Im different. Still, I understand my mother, she just wants the best for me.
so, i donned my best suit, and prepared myself for the scrutiny of others.
"good eve, Andorra, it's nice to see you" the hostess Divuria greeted us. "Oh, and you brought your son" while looking at me with disgust obvious on her tone. My mother doesnt notice this but, I am well aware that the people here still sees me as someone different.
"Divuria, thank you for inviting us. I'm afraid my husband can't come. He is guarding the perimeters because of the storm." my mother replied with courtesy
"Oh, I would like you to meet my daughter, Cleidentra. She's a scholar at the university, and a real beauty too." Divuria said.
"pleased to meet you, Cleidentra. I would like you to meet my son Vale. Currently, He's an apprentice of The warrior Akai the leader of our armed forces." my mother introduced me.
"Oh, how charming he looks handsome too" Cleidentra said. "Why ever did i not encounter him during my university days? I believe we are of the same age".
"Oh, I was homeschooled, and Akai tutored me mostly on the ways of the warrior" I replied.
"What a shame, you would have been a sight at school" Cleidentra said with a hint of sarcasm. I know I would be a sight for My skin color is quite different.
"Let us all move to the dining room for dinner, shall we?" DIivuria uttered while ushering us to the dining hall.
Suddenly, the alarms of the island was heard!
"We are under attack! I repeat, We are under attack!" an officer was shouting outside..
I rushed outside to see, that our shield is loosing its power.
"Mom, I need to go to the tower. I'll go help Dad, and I know Master Akai is there too." I said.
"Go, make haste. Help your father but, always take care my baby." my mom said and she kisses me on the forehead.
I willed the wind to carry me, and I was now flying to tge tower where my father was.
I saw that the invaders were using the storm in their favor to destroy our shields. And I was shocked to see the insignia of Alvania, the kingdom of elementalists, my supposedly home.
