Chapter 21: Slay a Dragon
Ra quickly joined up with Class 2 as they awaited the dragon tamers arrival.
The Dragons provided by the Academy were quite weak by Ra's standards, all of them were only Young Green Dragons.
"Hannah, Jace!" Ra called out to his two friends when he spotted them, The trio grouped up and began chatting.
"Hey, you guys wanna team up again? I hear we're challenging them in groups of three anyway."
"Yeah sure Ra, but seriously, Greens?"
Hannah mocked.
Jace and Ra laughed.
"Oh, not hiding your laugh anymore Jace?" Hannah would not let the opportunity to rib him pass easily.
"Oh who cares, more importantly, You."
he said, pointing a finger at her.
"Hm? What about me?"
"Oh, you're right!" Ra exclaimed.
"Hannah, your aura has changed, Mage: Basic Adept? When were you going to tell us?"
"Oh that, well, when we were fighting the Evolved Black Dragon last week, my spells did practically nothing, remember? I mean what's the point of awakening as a magic type slayer when our adversaries are Dragons? So I changed to Mage so I can learn dragonslaying spells, you'll be impressed, watch." she said confidently.
"Good girl." Ra grinned, rubbing her head.
Jace rolled his eyes.
"We should let Instructor Shizune know that we'll be fighting together."
"Alright, I'll go." Hannah offered before jogging up to the Instructor and indicating in the general direction of Ra and Jace.
"Done, we're up next."
"Alright, here's the plan, Hannah, When the fight begins we need you to prevent the Dragon from flying up, so rain down whatever spells you can to surpress it from above."
"Okay." Hannah nodded.
"Jace, Green Dragons are the weakest of the chromatic species, furthermore they don't like the cold attribute, the element we need here ice, but hitting the Dragon isn't necessary, rapidly cool the surrounding air to keep the Dragon from achieving flight, as long as you two work together to keep the Dragon grounded I can end this in one blow." Ra said confidently.
"No problem."
A small green dragon was led into the clearing as Ra finished detailing his plan.
"Begin!"
Hannah and Jace sprung into action.
Jace pulled back on his bow condensing solid ice for arrows, when they neared the Dragon they shattered into countless icicle shards revealing a dense frigid mist.
To complement Jaces' attack Hannah summoned a storm of hail above the Dragon's head, large fist sized lumps hammered at the Dragon's skull.
"Good! keep it up!"
Ra was already sprinting toward the Young Green Dragon, dodging shards of ice and cleaving through hail, he resembled a frost armoured king as he traversed the field of ice, snow and mist swirling around him, the ground was frozen solid by this point and the Dragon had not been able to move an inch since its release, Ra slid across the frozen ground, and soul formed his sword, aiming at the Dragon's heart he stabbed through its unguarded breast tearing through its scales, The Dragon fell over, dead, its heart still beating on the end of Ra's sword.
