Chapter 74: Horribly Misrepresented

Throughout the workday, every time Bryce got up from his desk he got a glimpse of the picture of Tessa's lookalike and it never ceased to unnerve him. Why did the sister of the one person here that had treated him as more than the auditor have to look so much like her? 

He was beginning to wonder if he should even go to dinner with Peter but it would be rude to back out now. So when his shift ended he met the man at his desk as planned and hoped this wasn't a terrible mistake. 

"So where are you from, Bryce?" he asked once they got into his car on the way to the restaurant. 

"California," Bryce replied, hoping he didn't ask where specifically in California. He was trying to forget his time in Santa Barbara as much as he possibly could.
