Chapter 1: chapter 1

"Death must be so beautiful. To lie in the soft brown earth, with the grasses waving above one's head, and listen to silence. To have no yesterday, and no tomorrow. To forget time, to forget life, to be at peace."

– Oscar Wilde

WIZARDING WORLD AND IT'S WONDERS

chapter 1: Hoot-Hoot?

I died.

I don't remember how. or i just don't remember the exact way. My life - however short it was - wasn't that complex so i think i know how.

A big part of my memories were of me laying on my hospital bed, locked away. Alone.

I had some kind of mutated rare condition that made my skin and nerves sensitive, even a gentle touch felt like someone is sanding my skin.

but it doesn't matter now, I died.

On a stone sat a cloaked figure.

All around him was nothing but darkness. dried plants and bones. black soil, dark sky.

Dark mist covered the strech of land.

As far as eyes could see there was only dark soil with not a speck of green, neither any sign of life, A small stream of water flowed nearby, dark water shimmering with silver light from the stars above.

The figure sat peaceful, grazing above towards the endless stars twinkling.

some stars slowly lost their light, new one took their place.

The figure moved a little after some time, a finger - only bones - pointed towards a stone nearby.

The stone stirred awake, as if alive and started floating towards the figure. It slowly changed its shape, forming a small cup, which then floated towards the water and then the figure.

The figure grabbed the cup with a boney hand. the cloak moved a little and the skeletal figure was revealed.

A black skeleton.

Blue shining eye sockets stared at the shimmering water and drink it.

The figure then went back to gazing at the stars.

A bright star appeared just above the lake, shinning brighter than any other star.

The figure watched with mild curiosity as the star twinkled and shone brighter.

Time passed. And passed. And passed.

New stars shined, old ones dimmed and faded away but one remained.

One star - shinning brighter than every other - never dimmed or faded away.

More time passed.

The figure again moved a little, one hand pointing towards the star, palm faced above.

The star started drifting towards the hand.

grabbing the star the figure stared at it.

"To shine so brightly even after death, perhaps your time is not here yet...perhaps you could enjoy the realm of living once again.."

His skeletal face displayed a smile - if possible - and he then pushed the star towards the lake.

The star twinkled one last time before submerged in the water and disappearing.

Light.

Intense light assaulted my eyes forcing me to close them just as quickly.

heaven? Blinking away at the light i slowly adjusted my eyes and looked around.

hell? seeing dusty and damp room with only one small window from which a beam of light was falling onto my face.

Groaning one last time i stood up.

wait. how can I move so easily...

Looking down i did not see my skinny and pale body but the body of a small child. around 10 years of age.

I don't feel pain, I told myself. ever since i could remember i wasn't normal, I wasn't able to move without feeling intense pain, my skin burned with even the gentlest of touches, confined to a bed i was nothing more than a prisoner of life, waiting for death.

A small tear slipped through my eyes, out of happiness, to finally be free.

"it isn't time to be sentimental" I muttered to myself and started observing around.

"so...I am alive, but not as me. well it is me but at the same time not me..."

'is it still me even if i don't have my body', He thought.

"but then what about this kid...he's not in my body is he? i hope not...rest in peace little whoever-your-name-was."

After freaking out for half an hour and comming in terms with his situation he sat down on a small chair, near the window overlooking the beautiful scenery of the back of a house, from behind of which the sun was peaking and acting as the only source of illumination.

wherever he was could definately do with some lightbulbs, maybe even lanterns.

he sat on chair looking through the opened window and basking in the sunshine, breathing in rich pollution free morning air.

"I can finally live nor- Oomph!!"

Something the size of a football flew through the window and collided into him.

"ow, wtf was that!"

There was a sound of flapping wings near his bed.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING MAKING A RUCKUS IN THE MORNING!!"

...

"so that was that...i guess whoever that was didn't like me so much..."

Ignoring the loud female voice from downstairs he looked around his room - if you could even call it that - for whatever came in.

There was more birb noise from his bed.

"oh so it was just you...wait! it's an owl!"

He rushed to get close to the bird, totally ignoring the letter it had dropped earlier.

"woah so cool" circling around the bird with stars in his eyes, the bird gave him a confused look, questioning this strange person.

"can I pick you up?" He questioned the birb, getting a blank gaze as an answer.

He gently but eagerly picked the bird up with both hands, bringing it face to face with him.

"I watched in a discovery show that you can keep you head fixed" He said and then started to move the birds body side to side.

90 degrees on each side, the birds head remained on the same spot.

"cool!"

After petting the birb a little more he then put it down.

the bird jumped from his bed to the floor and stood besides a letter, pointing its beak at it.

"ah! sorry i didn't see it..i was busy doing.. research, yeah, definately reaserch."

He picked it up.

'Arthur Lewis? is it my new name?'

He flipped the letter and saw a seal, The seal had a very familiar coat of arms.

"This symbol..."

He opened the letter and read it
