Chapter 234: Prayer

"Jess, how are you feeling?" I opened my eyes and Michelle was standing there beside my hospital bed. 

"Michelle?" Tears slid slowly down my cheeks.

She nodded, her eyes filled with tears. "Oh, Jess!" She pulled me to her and we both cried together for what seemed like an eternity. She pulled back a moment later and swiped a hand over her cheeks. "I'm so sorry to hear what happened. How's Dakota?"

"He's in a coma," I replied. "Can you do me a favor?"

She nodded, her eyes filling with tears again. "Yes, of course."

"Will you wheel me down to see him?" I asked. My head still hurt, but I had to see him.

Her eyes nearly bugged out of her head. "You mean to tell me that you haven't seen him yet?"

I shook my head. "No. I was in a coma for three days and have a concussion, so they wouldn't let me see him until I felt better."

She nodded, understanding. "Are you sure you're up to it?"
