For a moment, the world froze. Tarik immediately looked at Gadiel's unbandaged chest; his skin now smooth and muscled like how he remembered before the hospital. It felt like Tarik was dreaming, like his imagination had somehow manifested into reality for some reason.

"Finally," muttered Meredith, letting go of Tarik and pulling out a gun.

"Don't move," she said calmly, pointing her gun at a surprised Gaspard.

"What are you-"

The air crystalized, Tarik's lungs on fire as he tried to breathe in the frozen air. The temperature of the room dropped immediately, freezing everyone except Meredith and Tarik.

"Hey, I did ask if I missed something," Gadiel went on, looking at the three people he didn't recognize with a dangerous glint in his eye. "Don't try to run before telling me what you've been doing without me."
