Chapter 2: Neighbour beauty
"A road to what?" suddenly, a sweet and lazy female voice interrupted Arjun's daydreaming.
The door of his room abruptly opened. A beautiful lady around 25 years wearing pink pajamas leisurely walked in with a strange smile on her face.
If not for the dark circles under her Almond eyes, puffy and messed up long hair and multiple bandages around her slender daintly right hand, she might look like a top internation female model. Especially her enchanting figure, even through the loose pajamas, one can easily figure out the shape of outline of her perfect curves.
Except, Arjun wasn't in the least interested in her body. He was caught off guard by her sudden entry. This is his first time interacting others with this new body. He is not yet ready for this situation.
Beads of sweat appeared his forehead. The rate of his heart beat started pacing. Insecure and uneasy thoughts started filling his mind. What if she realizes that he is not the Arjun of this world? What if she finds out he is someone from another world? What if.... Arjun's adrenaline rose in panic.
Ananya Reddy ( Ananya in short) noticed his strange condition but didn't think much about it. This guy's father and her father were good friends. That's why he had been staying in this villa for 2 years with her and her other 3 friends. He was handsome but extremely introverted. She and her friends teased and tortured him a lot of times. As a result he became rather fearful of them. So she really didn't find his anxious behaviour surprising.
With a dangerous smile, Ananya repeated her words in a low tone "Road to what? say that again."
"Road into your heart and soul." Arjun replied blankly. Just as the words left his tongue, he regretted say that. That was his subconscious reply. He had always been witty and cheeky in his past life but this kind of reply is entirely different the this world meekly Arjun. He raised head and looked at the Ananya's expression nervously while insidely cursing his playboy nature for acting up at wrong time.
Indeed, Ananya's smile stiffened. Her eyes narrowed in doubt and suspicion. Suddenly the air in the room became tense and suffocating.
Just as Arjun felt like his heart is about leapt out of his chest, Ananya stretched out her hand, touched his forehead with the back of her palm and spoke gently with a concerned tone "Fever?".
"....." So she thought he was sick? Arjun became speechless. Well, can't really blame her. If an extreme introvert suddenly replied with a cheeky pick-up line, anyone would think he was just sick. Laughing to himself, Arjun lightened up a bit and stopped overthinking.
"No no, I'm okay. But your hand-" he stopped talking and shifted his gaze towards the bandages on her hand.
"Worrying about big sister now? How thoughtful. Little brother became sweet and caring. I'm so happy now. anyway you don't have to worry, they were just some scratches from work." Ananya chuckled gently as she slowly retracted her hand.
"Oh! " Arjun didn't know what else to say, just stayed silent.
Ananya turned her eyes to the clock on the wall and noticed the time is 10:30 a.m. She yawned, "On behalf of your care fore big sister, I will forgive you this time. But if you shout again and disturb my sleep-"stopped speaking, she flashed a big smile and made a throat cutting gesture before turning around and walked away.
Arjun's body subconsciously shivered in fear. It seems like this body had some trauma caused by this beautiful but violent lady.
After Ananya went out, Arjun hastily closed the door and locked it from inside. Taking a huge breath, he sighed in relief.
Damn! That was too nerve wrecking. The whole time Ananya was here, he felt he was shackled by some invincible chains. No, It can't go on like this. How is he going to become a star like this? thinking up to here, Arjun sat cross-legged in a meditative stance. He closed his eyes and started chanting 'Shanti mantra' to calm himself.
"ॐ द्यौ: शान्तिरन्तरिक्षँ शान्ति:, पृथ्वी शान्तिराप: शान्तिरोषधय: शान्ति: । वनस्पतय: शान्तिर्विश्वे देवा: शान्तिर्ब्रह्म शान्ति:, सर्वँ शान्ति:, शान्तिरेव शान्ति:, सा मा शान्तिरेधि ॥ ॐ शान्ति: शान्ति: शान्ति: ॥" (1)
After chanting it a few times, he mind felt clear, his heart became peaceful. Clasping his together in a praying manner, Arjun started talking in his heart.
Arjun of that world or Arjun of this world, it doesn't matter which Arjun he is. He just has to be himself. He doesn't need act nor does he need to please others. Good or Evil, he just has to follow his heart. Why burdening himself with unnecessary worries?
As he told himself, his felt body became light and relaxed like a heavy burden suddenly lifted off his shoulders. The invincible shackles around his soul seems to be disappeared.
No wonder it was said that 'the time spent in self-reflection is never wasted - it is an intimate date with yourself'.
Ding!
As Arjun feeling his relaxed body, a sound suddenly rang in his room grabbing his attention.
He turned turned head his head towards the source. It was the mysterious phone! The phone was glowing with a golden Halo around it.
