Prologue: Forsaken Age
Thousand years ago...
Great calamities had fallen on Encantadia and the world changed drastically.
The mountains and the forests were burnt into ashes by the heat of the scorching sun. Volcanoes erupted all over the world, shaking Encantadia and covered it into ashes. Humanity tasted the anger of the sea by the huge waves it brought to the land.
Earthquakes, Typhoons, Floods, Draughts, and many other horrific natural disasters occurred simultaneously in different parts of Encantadia as if nature was so angry and wanted humanity to perish.
It was an unnatural flurry of natural disasters!
Humanity was in great danger but their wickedness still remained.
Their love for wealth, their greed for power, their lust for the eyes and flesh did not even change a bit.
They chose to enter the wide gate and took the path of broad road that led to destruction instead of seeking the small gate with a narrow road that led to life!
So then the war had occurred!
Nation against nation, kingdom against kingdom, they fought against each other for their own reasons. Great cities trampled down. Those who had no power, those who were weak and poor, were only waiting for their death.
Death and havoc were everywhere as the third of Encantadia perished. The forests, the mountains and the seas, everything on Encantadia, every living creatures and non-living creature greatly suffered.
But the wickedness of men still remained.
Then a great plague befell on Encantadia!
An incurable illness rapidly spread out all over the World. Great numbers of people died from that illness. Neither the rich and the poor, or nobles and peasants, nor great and small, nor slaves and free, without any exception, they couldn't do anything against it.
There was chaos everywhere and famines engulfed the land. Encantadia perished once more.
As if it was a doomsday!
The ten billion population of humanity was reduced to half and all of these happened in a single year.
That day was so cruel that the people on that day called it the 'Forsaken Age'.
As if God, the 'Bathala' (\Bat-ha-la\) had forgotten his people and handed them over to the devils. People called to Bathala but they heard no answers. Then they cursed Bathala, they blamed him for everything that happened to them.
After all of these, the wickedness of men still remained.
So then, they had completely forgotten anything about Bathala and trusted themselves instead. "Who is Bathala?" they questioned, "Where is he?" they boasted. The existence of Bathala in their hearts had completely vanished.
But after this, humanity became united in search of the cure for that incurable illness. Countless great doctors gathered from all over the world.
The war had ended, but still, there was no peace!
Hundreds of thousands of people died every single day but no infant was born and live long enough.
Ten years had already past and only a tenth of humanity was left in the whole world but still, they could not find the cure for the illness. They were all infected by the illness and they had only found a way to prolong their pitiful life by sustaining themselves with some kind of medicine that they had discovered whenever the illness was reacting wildly.
But aside from this, they also learned something, they learned that humanity was bound to extinct!
