Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Hell in a cell
It has been yet another unfruitful day at the place where almost everyone my age is made to go to so as to receive and partake in the gift we all know as knowledge.
The place i like to call hell in a cell due to the ten foot barbed wire surrounding the place but what the rest of the human population calls school. Yuck.
My name is Roxanne Piercy but my friends call me Roxy. I go to school at Woodenview high which is the most boringest place in the universe. Which is why i try to make it a little more interesting, unfortunately that has gotten me into trouble a couple of times (I think if i wasn't a minor I'd have a criminal record), ahem moving a long.
So as i am making my way from every children's nightmare i march straight to go and pick up my brother from his "pre-school" as we have to call it.
My brother Gregory or Greg is a little like me. Hell he is a lot like me. This one time i came to pick him up and you couldn't believe what i saw him doing. He was by the fence, rattling it with a metal cup. What made it even funnier was that his face was plastered with a bored expression and he kept on yelling, "ALMS, ALMS, ALMS FOR THE POOR," to every single passerby.
Im surprised he hadn't got suspended but then again he is my brother.
"Mrs C how are you. Its been a long time eh. Pardon me, but I'm here to pick up Gregory Piercy," I asked the nice old lady receptionist.
"Oh it has been a long time Roxanne, I'm doing just fine. Let me see what i can do for you," no matter how many times i tell her to call me Roxy she absolutely insists on calling me by my full name, well whatever.
"Well Roxanne, it says here that your brother has already been picked up." she said with a smile.
That's strange the only one who picks up my brother is me. And my mom (sigh), is in no condition to go anywhere anytime soon.
"Ok. thanks Mr C," i say
"You're welcome dear," she replies
Wow thats strange, who could've come to pick him up? Maybe he just went home by himself? Nah. Oh right it could've been the next door neighbour, after all this is on her way home from work and she has done this before. Oh well.
"La la la la la," i happily sang as I skipped home.
i unlocked the door and then my heart stopped,"Aaaaahhhhhh!?!"
