Chapter 18: thank you.. for being alive..
Jimin squeezed your body with his arms pulling you as close as he can. His crying was getting louder. You tried to hold back your tears pretending to be strong while rubbing his back.
"I'm.. sorry" he said in between his sobs. His voice was getting heavier. " For not finding you earlier... For taking so much time" he continued.
It was hard for you to say a word while holding back your tears.
"Thank you.." he said while hugging you tighter. "Thank you.. for being alive" he added.
The fact that someone was waiting for you, that someone was thankful that you were safe, that someone was praying for you to be alive, that you didn't died with your parents, made your tears escape from your eyes. The feelings and pain you were holding back from all this years started bursting out of you. You buried your face in his chest and let out your pain.
You felt his warmth. It felt like the world was shrinking around you. You both were crying while hugging each other. The long lonely era was slowly ending now.
The wind was all in its pace but it was warm under his embrace. After a long 15 minutes of crying, you both let go of each other.
He leaned closer to wipe away your tears while his own cheeks and eyes were wet. There was a few minutes of silence between you two as you both were trying to calm yourself down.
"You've changed a lot, jimmy" you said breaking the silence. "I had to, if i wanted to debute as a singer" jimin replied looking at you. "Is this why you didn't recognized me?" He asked giving you a serious expression. You nodded
" but how did you recognized me? " You asked with a smile.
"This.." he said pointing towards your lips.
" This bright smile of yours.. this is what i was searching... All this years." he said giving you a smile. His expressions softened, making you blush.
"Where were you all this time?
Tell me.
everything" He asked. He had that sad look on his face.
"After my parents died.." your voice was heavier than before. " Aunt stella took my custody, i lived with her for 5 years" you said forcing a smile. "And?" He said looking at you. "Huh?" You were confused. "After that? Where were you after that?" He asked. " At my.. own house. I.. you know.. don't wanted to be a burden to them so i came back when i thought i was able to." You said while nervously smiling at him.
You didn't wanted him to know that your aunt used to treat you as a trash and was going to sell your parents house so you ran away from her house all alone so that you can stop her from selling it. You didn't want him to worry about the hardships and pain you suffered due to your aunt.
You smiled at him thinking that everything is alright. He kept looking at you for a while before pulling you into a hug. " You little liar" he sighed rubbing your back. He could tell that you were sad just by looking at you.
" I'm sorry.. all this time when you needed me, i wasn't there" he said pulling apart and taking your hand in his.
' he's an angel. How can he not be mad at me for not recognizing him? How can he care about me so much? What i did to deserve him? ' you thought while looking at him.
" I want.... to do something for you." You said. "I want to make up for all this time." Your face lit up.
Jimin chuckled at your words. He thought this was cute. " Anything?" He asked. "Anything" you replied with confidence.
"Hmm.. let me think" he said making you nervous. But it's jiminie so everything will be fine. "Hah.. then give me a chance." Jimin said. "Chance? What chance" you had no idea what he was talking about.
"A chance which i can use whenever i feel like. I can't think of anything right now. So if i want anything I'll use this chance and you have to do that for me. Deal?" He said stretching his hand out.
"You don't need a 'chance' for that. You just have to say and I'll do it for you." You said smiling and reaching for his hand.
He entangled his fingers with yours
"lets go. Others are waiting" he said. Everything started being comfortable with him.
'A lost friend was back. Everything's going to be okay now' you smiled at this thought, unaware of the situation awaiting you in the near future.
