Chapter 110: Dangerous Game

Mariela's POV

I felt too drunk at the bar, but when I got inside Archer's car, it felt like someone had poured me cold water. I heard everything he said, and I wanted to continue to pretend I was sleeping, but I could no longer control myself from talking back at him.

I was angry that he reprimanded me and for calling me stubborn; how could he? He didn't come home last night, and now he's telling me that I should stay at his house, and I feel so betrayed that he was accusing me of being reckless. I didn't do anything to him; I only tried to enjoy my life because of how he made me feel about myself.

And what hurt me most was when he told me I couldn't leave his house tomorrow. And my anger intensified when he told me I needed to meet his lawyer to sign some important documents, and I didn't need to ask him what would be the specifications of the papers I needed to sign because I fully understood it would be about his wealth. He must think I was after his money.
