Chapter 136: Desperate

Archer's POV

I was startled when I woke up the following morning when I saw a figure sitting on the sofa inside my room after I had opened my eyes. I didn't have enough sleep last night since I couldn't stop thinking about Ella overnight.

"Dad?" I mumbled.

"Good morning, son," he responded as he slowly got up from the couch with a cane in his hand, and I quickly got up from the bed to help him walk towards my bed. He slowly sat on the edge while looking at me the entire time.

"What are you doing here in my room? You could have asked the maid or Pablo to fetch me," I said, and he shook his head.

"The nurse on duty last night told me you came into my room; next time, wake me up if you need anything." My father said.

"You were sleeping, dad, and I know your condition. It would help if you rested so you can recuperate your energy." I answered.
