Chapter 17: Mrs. Chua arrived
For two days, Lily went through all kind of test in the hospital. Joyce stayed with her everyday after school.
Due to the doctor's request, Joyce called Lily's Mom. Mrs. Chua
"Hello, auntie. This is Joyce."
"Joyce?!! How is Lily?" her mom immediately asked worriedly. Since Joyce and the doctor had already spoken to her about Lily fainting after the match, so she immediately asked about her condition.
"So far Lily is okay. She woke up yesterday. She feel fine right now. It's just that Dr. Goh asked me to inform you that it would be better if you can come to S country by tomorrow."
"Is something wrong with Lily?" Her mom inquired suspiciously.
"Honestly, I don't know auntie. The doctor never said anything to me. Just tell me to ask you to come here as soon as possible. Doctor had requested Lily to go through a series of test. I am worried but the doctor keep quiet." Joyce explained anxiously. "I think it's better if you can come as soon as possible.."
"I see... Okay, I'll take the soonest flight possible Joyce. Thank you for calling me." Mrs.Chua said gratefully. She ended the call and anciously looked for Mr. Chua immediately.
"Honey, I need to go to S country tomorrow. Something must be wrong with our baby. She is in the hospital now and the doctor wants me there. He has something to tell me..."
"Okay. Do what you think is necessary."
"Thank you dear. Then I'll start to prepare."
Mrs. Chua immediately made a series of phone calls and packed her luggage. She packed more clothes than necessary. Just in case.....

A beautiful and elegant lady walked into the hospital lobby. Dressed in simple shirt - dress, she can pass as a twenty something lady rather than somebody's mom.
"Excuse me, could you tell me what's the room of patient name Lily Chua?" She asked the nurse.
"Yes. Hold on.. let me check.." The nurse checked the registration and told her, "She is in room 402."
" Thank you. "

Lily woke up and found herself staring at a pair of worried eyes.
"MOM!" Lily tried to wake up...
"Hey...." Her mom wiped her teary eyes and laughed. "How are you feeling, baby?" her mom asked her while trying to fuss and help her into sitting position.
"I am okay mom. I feel much better now. Just feel bored staying at the hospital with nothing to do." Lily pouted and looked at her mom pitifully.
Her mom smiled and caressed her cheek lovingly, "Well, we need to get the doctor's approval before we can let you go back home. We don't want you to faint again, do we?"
"Humpfhhh...."
Her mom laughed at her reaction...
"When did you arrive, mom? How come I don't know that you are coming?" Lily inquired.
"I want to give you a surprised. It won't be a surprised if you know right?" her mom used her finger to dab lightly on her nose.
"Moooommmmm.....!!!!" Lily tried to pushed her mom's finger away while pouted again.
Looking at her daughter, Mrs. Chua tried her best to contained her chaotic feeling inside.

Mrs. Chua found room 402 quite easily. When she saw it, she immediately open the door to the room silently, afraid to disturb the occupant inside.
She saw a doctor checking up on Lily. He was writing something on the patient's report at the end of the bed. He raised his head and saw Mrs. Chua.
"Dr. Goh I presume?" Mrs. Chua smiled at him warmly.
He pulled out his hand to shake her hand. "Mrs. Chua? Hi, I'm Dr.Goh. The doctor in-charge-of Lily Chua."
"Hi Dr, I'm Lily's mom. I heard my daughter's friend, Joyce said that you wish to speak to me as soon as possible."
Looking at Lily who was still sleeping soundly, he softly said," Do you mind if we talk in my office? You wouldn't want your daughter to hear about this."
"Sure, Dr. Please..." Looking at the doctor's suddenly somber face, it must be something that was quite important. Preparing herself mentally, she followed him to his office. Praying fervently that whatever he was going to tell her, won't be as bad as the sudden premonition she had.
