Chapter 209: A Path To Tread On

Classes had just ended and Ethan made his way towards the Garden of Saint Claire Academy. Today was Thursday and two days remain until he must give Ciel his answer. 

He had been thinking long and hard for the past few days whether he should accept his proposal or not. However, in the end, it all boiled down to one question. 

For what purpose do I want to be strong?

Being young that he was, he understood that the reason why he chose to become stronger was because he wanted to protect the girl he liked. He wanted to protect Kate and perhaps, only then, would she look at him in a way that was more than a friend.

That was why he had started to learn Martial Arts. But now? What does he really feel right now?

Ethan sat down on the bench that he usually went to whenever he came to the garden. It was a bench located on a small man-made hill. Being in an elevated spot, it gave him an unobstructed view of the Entrance, the Maze, and the Fountain.
