Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Reapers
The morning became, afternoon in Mu city, for the average person they went about their daily lives as usual but for some who are of special nature were not in a position to continue their daily routine. While Nan'Ke had already spoken to 'Ariel' about coming to work for him, it took him a great deal of convincing especially since he didn't know much about them, however during his conversations with her the Mu family was having a family discussion and this had help him greatly.

In an ancient house, those use by the nobles in the days of old(emperors reign), there was a group of people gathering. From old to young they were, some of them perplexed as to why they were recalled to the family as this hasn't happened before, using the old emergency retreat signal, which meant to stop whatever plan or task they had and return to the fold.
This was the Mu family's courtyard, one they obtain after the war 80 years ago and the place that started the inception of Mu City. The Patriarch had called for an emergency family meeting after hearing the report from his eldest son about what his youngest son did, breaking the accord set by 'The Correction'. The accord only stated that only the current heir apparent, usually the eldest son, or daughter in some cases would be be allowed to used their services. 'The Correction' was an organization that existed since before the war, some speculated that they were the descendants of the emperors secret unit specializing in intelligence and assassination. The scope of 'The Correction' is unknown as they only focused is money, a part of their identity, but no one truly knows what do they do with the amount of money they have amassed. It is only known that in each prefecture across Long country, a branch of 'The Correction' is located independently of each other. This meant that the branch in Mu City was to operate how they see fit across the Shan Prefecture but no action is to be carried out outside of their jurisdiction.
"I call this meeting to, order to discuss the matter of my youngest son, Mu Yen. The Patriarch spoke gaining everyone's attention. "An accord was broken with 'The Correction' as he used it for his own personal benefit and not the family without the permission of heir apparent Mu Chen" the Patriarch spoke as if he was in a court only dealing in facts rather than any 'beating around the bush' some might do he hopes of gaining some sympathy from their audience. However he was a Patriarch first before he was a Father and what his youngest son did was detrimental to the entire family if it wasn't dealt with the appropriate punishment.
"He should be stripped of his status and banished from the family" one of the elders said. Another chimed in "He should be handed over to 'The Correction' for punishment". "We should stand together and protect our people, if not who would" a older man said, not part of the older generation nor the younger generation as he was caught in between.
These statements garnered discussion amongst the power holders of Mu family trying to determine the best course of action. "We should wait on the decision of 'The Correction' before making a decision" Mu Chen said trying to calm down the situation, some thought he was trying to protect his brother while others believed a fake act of concern was being displayed.
Mu Chen has his own plans, one that would benefit his family and his own organization 'Ninth Heaven'. His goal was to see what the decision of 'The Correction' before making his moves, as he already ordered the Mei Twins to looked in Nan'Ke using the photo he obtained from Mu Yen.
"If we take a decision now, the organization wouldn't have to make one. This shows that we would always be at their beck and call, we are the ones that hire them but we play by their rules. We should see what they decide to do and if they don't make a decision and wait for us to make one well we would just turn a blind eye to what has happened." Mu Chen said implying that if the organization doesn't want to make a decision then who cares if the Mu's do the same. He wanted to wrestle some of the organization power back and hopefully transfer that power into his own organization.
However Man propose and God Dispose….or in this case the Mu's decides while Nan'Ke undermines. An encrypted message was sent to the Patriarch at this time, but it was not only him, all the Patriarchs of the remaining four great families receiving the same message which contained the organization declaration.
"We 'The Correction' have decided to part ways with the families of Shan Prefecture, specifically those that are of the five great families that reside in both Mu and Si city's. This is hereby the last time you will here from us, and we will NOT be receiving you in the future. The actions by one known as Mu Yen of the Mu family in Mu city, are against what this organization agreed upon with the previous heads of the families. We will not tolerate such betrayal and by this would we no longer continue working together, Our Alliance has ended at the end of this message."
"The Correction"
*Silence*
All across the prefecture, those of the five great families who have access to this information are in dead silence, as no one would have expected this or even wanted this. 'The Correction' strikes a balance between all families as they were the 'gun' for hire, they didn't sided with anyone or betrayed those who entrusted them. All of the five great families used them against one another but that contributed to the balance as not one family was in control or had power over them, only money could move them. They eyes all fell on the one responsible for this, Mu Yen of the Mu family.
"How sinister" Mu Chen said as he realized what has happened, the person who called them earlier must have spoken to the head honcho of 'The Correction' for Shan Prefecture for this to occur, "I wondered what he offered them for this to happen…now I really wonder who he is to have this type of power." With that being said his plan to wait for the organization decision backfired. Now the powers of the Mu's would have to formulate a new plan…a plan for survival as the other four families would sure bare their fangs towards them.

Nan'Ke was sitting down enjoying his meal after pulling a wool over everyone head, having him think he was some big shot. Fooling the Mu brothers was easy as he had the necessary information of their actions at hand but the same can't be said for 'Ariel' and 'The Correction' she oversees. She quickly pick up that he only knew surface information about their organization such as name and certain details of how the operation worked, as he listened in on the Mu family members conversation using Mu Yen phone as his bug was still operational. The brothers didn't know they were bugged as they thought he had just got Mu Yen number from someone else. However that wasn't enough for her to quickly disband the organization foundation that has been built up for many years. "I know you are bluffing, and this farce would not continue any longer, so whatever you say would not help you. We will find you and erase you and everyone you love". Is what she said to Nan'Ke after figuring out he was just a bluff and not some big man in their world, however what Nan'Ke said to her really struck the cord, "How about freedom?" He had learnt this while listening on the Mu's.
Freedom, a word not unknown to her but one that she could never use or experience, as it was said before although the Correction is really powerful, they cannot leave their jurisdiction, meaning all those within 'the correction' in Shan Prefecture must live their entire lives in that prefecture. They don't have a life outside of this place. Some might think well aren't they free in Shan Prefecture, well that is true, but when you possess boss level power in a beginner village, where is the fun in that? They seek a wider map, a greater playground to play with they skills and live their lives to their fullest. That and enormous amounts of money was promised. As the saying goes 'The Correction sure loves their money'.
After they had spoken and Nan'Ke learn the true capabilities of the organization and he was really impressed and excited that his plan to control Mu city would be completed by the end of the year. He transferred $50 million dollars to 'The Correction' for improving their facilities such as training and infrastructure as well as increasing their salaries as they would now work 'under one' they would not get paid only on commission but a salary every month like a good old 9-5. This marked the birth of the 'Reapers'.

Mind_Medicine Chapter 18: A cunning scheme brought to fruition, but is this enough to control the city. Particular forces would join the game. 'The Correction' as a wohle would be explored in the few as I have a few interesting ideas to play with.
