Chapter 2: What a morning

Y/n POV:

I had awakened from my peaceful slumber when my alarm clock had gone off. I groaned as I reached for the turn off button hoping to get at least another 5 minutes of sleep.

But unfortunately for me I knew if I did that I would be late, and the professor isn't too fond of me running late. Especially today since we're going to be running some tests to see how strong I am. My powers had gotten a lot strong and harder for me to understand how to use/control them. In all honesty I will do ANYTHING to be 'normal'. I want to know how it feels like going to an actual school not having to worry about being treated differently due to being a mutant, or to have people after you. It's all overwhelming, I want to experience what love feels like. What a heartbreak feels like, what it's like to have friends.

I shook my head trying to get the unwanted thoughts out and got up and started to get dressed. I had taken a shower before I went to sleep so I wouldn't have to wake up earlier and take one in the morning, when I take showers believe me.

I will take my time.

I put on some black leggings, a sports bra and a white thin windbreaker. I put on some Nike shoes, put my hair in a tight, yet messy bun, grabbed my bag and walked downstairs towards the cafeteria. Ever since the day the professor, as he prefers Charles, ran into me in the woods I've become one of his students and he treated me like he treats the others. Equally. He was the one who actually had put me up to doing these tests everyday a week, to 'study my strength' or whatever.

As I was walking I turnt the corner and saw the hallway was empty, there was only a group of boys around my age maybe older. One of the boys saw me and smirked pointing in my direction causing the others to look at me as well.

'Great, just what I needed!'

I wasn't very...how do I say it? 'Cool' or 'popular' liked the others. In fact I was what you call a 'loner' and had no one to talk to. I was a freak to them for not understanding how to use my powers and for my barrier that would keep me protected. I began to speed walk to get out of there when one of the boys got out their notebook, ripped a piece of paper out crumbling it into a ball and throwing it at me. It would have hit my head if I weren't for my barrier which blocked it. The same boy began to throw more while the others began cat calling me by whistling and complimenting my body. I began to walk faster in hopes of getting out of that situation. It enraged me so much, but no matter how hard I would try to push it away the feeling of pain and grief would always come back. It haunted me, people didn't know what it was like being in some concentration camp for mutants, they don't know what it's like when you have your family ripped away from you!

'THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE TO BE ALONE. TO HAVE NO ONE TO OAY YOUR BACK AND SAY, 'ITS OK'. WHAT MAKES ME ANY FUCKING DIFFERENT?! WERE ALL THE FUCKING SAME!'

My eyes stung as tears threatened to come out and fall freely l, but I didn't let them. I was tired of crying, it gets you nowhere, it's useless. While I was zoned out I didn't even realize where I was, or what was going on. The school was shaking and the lockers started to open and close, flying everywhere and the tables and chairs were thrown up into the air coming crashing back down. I was in the cafeteria now as I saw all the panicked teens scream and run. It felt good seeing them scared, it finally felt like I did something good for myself and not the others. But I acted like nothing was happening and casually walked over to pick up a tray and walked over to the other side to pour myself some food, since all the lunch ladies were taking cover from all the chaos.

I grabbed a milk and walked over to an empty table that had been thrown to the ground, enjoying the scene in front of me. There was one girl who had fallen to the ground while running and above her there was a table above her that started to come crashing down on. I would have done something but she was one of those girls that would always pick on me and bully me. I bit my burger excitedly waiting for what was going to happen next, although I wasn't fazed one bit, nothing bad couldn't happen to me anyways.

Out of nowhere I felt a strong source of energy overcome me and I felt stronger, I didn't feel weak. It felt awesome and my hands started to glow. I felt as if I could take over the world, but there was also an ere feeling too. It felt evil but also it...it felt amazing. I sucked in a deep breath as the energy that overcame me started to slowly fade away.

It all seemed to happen in slow motion, the tables the wind, the speed, the cries and... him.

In the blink of an eye there was a boy there who looked around my age. He had silver hair and some goggles/glasses covering his eyes, he had silver shoes, silver jeans and a silver jacket. And there he had the girl in his arms saving her from the crashing table. I groaned in annoyance.

'I wanted that table to come crashing down on her. I wanted to see the pain she would be in. Only this time it'll be 10x worse. She'll feel the same pain she made me feel. Man! Only if that stupid boy would have just out of the way! Ughh! I wanted to see her d-'

I was taken out by my desire for revenge when I heard the professor speak.

"What the hell happened in here?"

I froze knowing I was gonna get it. The lockers stopped slamming and the tables and chairs started to slowly make their way back to the ground. Everyone just stood silent and looked at me, thinking it was my fault. I rolled my eyes. Of course it was but they could have picked someone else to blame, why is it that when something bad would happen I would get the blame. Of course the profess- I mean Charles knew it wasn't my fault.

He looked at me then back at the students clearing his throat, "ok everyone remain calm go to class." Everyone one obliged and went to class besides that boy and the girl who he still had his arm around. That's when he turned to me with a stern look on his face and asked if I did this.

"Would you be mad if I said yes?"

Boy was I in for it. "Office. Now." I flinched at his tone and got up and teleported to a nearby trash can and threw my things away. In doing so I heard the girl walk over to me and get in front of my face and slapped me, my face turned slightly from the impact of the hit. "That's for trying to kill me." She spat. I looked deeply into her eyes...searching? And there I saw it, her memories of her past. I kept my gaze on her eyes and smirked, "Aww stop being a big baby. I mean it won't be your first time in a near death experience now would it?" I chuckled. She furrowed her eyebrows in anger and was about to speak when I cut her off. "I mean after all you were worthless and a waist of time to your whole family." Thats when Charles tried to stop the conversation from going any further and tried sending her to her class.

"You know nothing of my family! Freak!" I laughed evilly unfazed by her words. "Really? Because the way I see it, the way your so called family sees it. You were nothing." She scoffs, "yeah right." At this my grin only widened. "The way your mother sees you, you were a waist, that's why she left. The way your father sees it, you were useless that's why he cherished your brother. They way your brother sees it you were a pest and were useless." I chuckled before remembering one of the memories I saw she had. "The way Chris saw it... you weren't enough... and you never will be enough." By the time I was done talking she was as quiet as a mouse. Mouth hanging open, "how did you-"

"You should have jumped off the bridge." I replied coldly to her. She had finally felt what I felt. And I hope she continues on feeling it. I picked up my bag and walked right past her bumping into her shoulder daring her to say something or do something. I still had the barrier protecting me from the sudden impact I have received. The barrier changes often depending on how it feels. If it feels threatened it will form a big ball around me, but it will sometimes just form a barrier outlining my body still keeping me from contact. But that rarely happens and my barrier never becomes fully deactivated, it depends on who the people are. For example The only people my barrier became fully deactivated when someone touched me was my mother, father and older sister. In fact by the look on Charles' face I could tell he was impressed and curious on how I knew about her past and about my barrier shrinking. I would have been more surprised than Charles if I wasn't filled with anger.

I smiled at the thought of my family. Gosh I missed them so much. I teleported into Charles office before anyone could even take in a breath.

'What the actual fuck just happened? How did I know all that? Why did the barrier shrink? Who the hell was that boy? What was that strange energy? Maybe Charles knows something, he probably felt it too.'

I groaned inwardly and sat down in one of the chairs and threw my bag beside me, waiting for the professor to come in.

"You have a lot of explains to do miss." I heard a voice in my head and sighed knowing who it belonged to.

"Yes, yes I know." I sighed before sinking further into my chair and playing with the necklace I had around my neck and the ring around my finger. The necklace belonged to my mother, she gave it to be a few months before everything happened. And as for the ring it had red string going in a patter, with wooden bead and a little hand symbol. My older sister and father worked on it together and gave it to me as a birthday gift. The necklace was a sun, the chain all gold and had 5 little diamonds in the middle and it looked beautiful.

I smiled sadly at the memory but quickly put on a serious face and sat up when the door opened. I turned to my left and there was Charles and that boy.

'Huh I wonder what he's doing here'

Charles looked at the boy and asked him if he could wait outside that way we could talk in private, in the blink of an eye he was gone. "Woah" I breathed out. The professor chuckled a little before putting his serious stoned face back on and cleared his throat. I gulped and knew the Interrogation was about to begin.
