spoiler I think that be stupid enough to give yourself a weakness so strong with minimal benefits would already be a weaknes 2x the need to have depth, i know that the mc get a akuma no mi thank to the talisman and get no weaknes, but for me the problem was in him get an akuma no mi at all. Look, made no sense the mc eat an akuma no mi on purpose, the talismans already give him a lot of power, flaws give depth for the character but the flaw need to make sense, and make no sense, if it is only to have something to the mc strugle would make more sense the autor make him eat a failed smile then an akuma no mi, since a real akuma no mi would be to much
