It was weathered and narrow, barely enough for two people to walk side by side. Here and there, it was hidden beneath the snow. But most importantly, it was flat. Sunny had never been that happy to see something flat in his life.

I think she means fighting at a distance like a mage or a golem is safer due to the dangerous beasts/enemies they face. But Karl needs to fight up close so she thinks its dangerous.
"So, your ability lets you contract with monsters and what? Use their abilities? While that sounds pretty cool, it's still a high-risk path to fight against other monsters." She asked.

I agree with Zackron. The MC choices are hard to relate to. His reasoning feels more like a plot device than a real person.
One of the most frustrating books I have ever read. And I have read many many many webnovels. That should tell you something about this book. The start was good but after Damian separated from Lucian everything went downhill. The MC doesn't need enemies when he has a brother like Samuel whose sole existence is to get MC in trouble with the most unreasonable people. Then MC makes the situation even worse. The only reason MC is still alive is due to plot armour. The story had a lot of potential and I really enjoyed the process of him researching and creating runes. But the rest of the novel is shit so read at your own risk.
I really hate the fact that he tried to rescue the boy. It was the most irrational decision ever.
I really hope he doesn't ignore space time affinity
The thing Damian needed the most right now was balanced strength - especially physical strength, with his childish body - only stats could give his swordsmanship some merit. No matter how cool Space-Time Mage was, it's still a back-line fighter and the spells for it were limited here, maybe for his second job he can try to get it. He needed to be self-sufficient to survive on his own for now.

To make glass you need soil with a high concentration of silica (silicon dioxide) sand, a specific type of sand with at least 95% silica and very low levels of impurities. Its hard to find that easily for a five year old.
Damian locked his door and took out his stolen utensils. He hoped to get his hands on clear see-through glass, but guess they were too costly even for the wealthy Baron. He would have to make do with what he had.
