Life is good when you don't face sudden changes. But when big decisions are made and trouble follows, then you might find a mountain out of a molehill.

"You know, your sister isn't half bad," Leo commented. 
He knew he'd pay for that comment as soon as he said it, and he was right. Morgana had mastered the art of elbow jabs. The latest of her attacks caused Leo to double over in pain. 
"No need to get violent," he coughed. "I was just saying that she isn't like Maleagant." 
"No, she's worse," Morgana snapped. "She'll lull you into a false sense of security before she drops the hammer down on you…"
Morgana wrapped her arms over her chest while she glowered at Leo.
"At least with Maleagant, you knew where you stood, but Morrigan has three sides. Wait until you meet them all before you tell me how awesome she is," she grumbled. 
Leo sighed. "Never said she was awesome…"
"What was that?" Morgana raised an eyebrow at him. 
"Nothing," Leo sighed more heavily this time. "Women…" 
"Quiet on the set, please!" Shannon yelled. 
She was standing in front of the main Evil Eye pedestal — a pedestal that housed only the Eyeball of an Evil Eye whose wings had been clipped off — with a clapperboard in hand. Behind her was the stage Bronte's crew had set up for the broadcast. 
Much like a newscaster's setup, the stage had a stone table that was long enough to accommodate more than one individual. Behind this table was a backdrop of stars and floating mirrors that the commentators would use for recaps and highlight reels — two concepts Leo spent more than an hour explaining to his broadcasting team the day before the event's launch. 
"So not like the videos we release online?" Agatha had asked. 
"No, similar but slightly different in variety and execution," Leo explained. "We'll have top ten hits and the worst snafus of the day… Stuff like that." 
"What is… snafu?" one of the goblins in the broadcasting team had asked, making Leo want to face-slap himself. 
Luckily, Agatha was quick on the uptake. Over the next twenty-four hours in Abyss time, she'd captured the kinds of moments Leo was looking for. 
"Places, everyone!" Shannon yelled, sending Leo's thoughts back into the now. "We're going live in five… four… three… two…" 
She raised a finger up. Then dropped it down to signal the live broadcast had begun. 
Leo was worried about doing live broadcasts because so many things could go wrong. It was why he insisted all streaming content be approved by him and Morgana first before they were released. However, he also knew that the best way to promote competitive gaming was to do it live — while the hype factor was at its peak — and e-sports was the next step in the evolution of the Abyss. 
He could only hope their choice of anchors were up to snuff. 
The Abyss logo flashed on the floating mirrors behind the news desk. Then the main Evil Eye panned over to the two commentators for today's big event. 
"Welcome one and all to the first-ever broadcast of the Abyssal Time," said the pretty maenad in her white priestess gown. "I'm Donatella—"
"—and I'm Max!" Max, Donatella's new partner chimed in. "Short for Maximum Punishment!" 
Max pulled out the two single-barrel rifles from underneath the desk and then raised them high. He fired off two shots that caused the set to rumble all while laughing his socks off.
Leo could already imagine the audience's reaction to Max's first official appearance. 
He wondered if they would think of him as CGI, animatronics, a puppet, or an actual sinister-looking talking rabbit. Perhaps a few would even see him for the imp he was. 
The focus groups had agreed on one thing though, everyone would love Max. He was just wild enough that adults would find him cool while simultaneously having Pikachu-level cuteness for kids to adore him. 
Yep, Max, not Morgana or any of the other weirdoes in Leo's team was now the face of the Abyss. He was the official Abyss mascot, although Leo would never say that to him out loud. He didn't fancy getting used for target practice afterward. 
"Pew-pew!" Max yelled the line Agatha insisted he keeps yelling throughout the broadcast which her team — and focus groups — hoped would become his catchphrase. 
At the very least, it did look like Max was having fun onscreen, giving his partner, Donatella, the unenviable task of reining him in so they could actually get past introductions and into the meat of things. 
The first segment of the broadcast was a tally of teams who'd managed to reach the tower, which Donatella pointed out, "It's a very dismal showing so far as only four covens have arrived at the tower's doors and two of them are allied together."
"What happened to all the other idiots?" Max asked her. 
Leo chuckled at hearing the word — idiot. This was going to be a pretty unfiltered broadcast. 
"Waylaid and defeated along the mountain path by your new favorite team, the Terror Ten," Donatella explained. "A total of thirteen covens defeated." 
"Damn!" Max laughed. "They murdered those fools!" 
Max definitely provided entertainment value but Donatella was the brains of the operation. She excellently steered the conversation wherever Agatha needed it to go. 
"Max," Donatella began. "What did you think of the two teams who fought against the Raven Queen's dawn form?" 
This started a lengthy discussion on the two matches where Max praised Jaybird for his 'Big cohones!" and ridiculed Don Coyote for being a "Pathetic poser who didn't have big enough cohones!" There was a lot of "She murdered them!" mixed into this conversation too. 
For her part, Donatella managed to turn Max's mostly incoherent banter into something Leo thought the audience would understand. Basically, she filled in the blanks for him. 
"I do believe it was detestable of Don Coyote to attempt to run away while most of his team were being slaughtered," she agreed. "That man has no equal in his despicableness."
On the floating mirrors, they showed snippets of Morrigan's second battle, ending with Don Coyote trying to escape through the front doors. Unfortunately, he wasn't aware they'd been locked with Morrigan's magic. 
"I bet the onlookers loved him though," Max countered. "There's just something fun about watching a villain struggle… and then get stepped on by a giant raven. Ya-ha!" 
As the show went on, Leo received a report from Dani regarding one of their side projects. Apparently, the Max dolls they'd put up at the Abyss Auction House was nearly sold out. Other Max memorabilia such as t-shirts, baseball caps, Max pillows, and other mortal world items featuring the imp were also selling pretty well. 
In his mind's eye, Leo imagined little girls and boys hugging a Max doll while they slept in bed. The thought of the imp's likeness sleeping beside kids made his whole body shudder. 
"If only they knew," he whispered to himself. "Effing creepy… the stuff of nightmares…" 
Another weird development in the auction house was how the full-body Donatella pillows had also sold out, and Leo could only imagine what all those male buyers would use that pillow for. 
"It's official," Morgana said after she'd read the report Leo passed her. "Max is our biggest success of the day."
"I wouldn't count Ath3na's team out yet," Leo chuckled.
"Ath3na's team is lost on the second floor," Morgana reminded him. "That annoying Sin of Lust… I knew Morrigan couldn't be trusted to keep those demons imprisoned…"
The next segment of the Abyssal Time was dedicated to following Ath3na around as she went looking for her teammates. Weirdly enough, scenes depicting player temptations were censored out. 
"This isn't us, right?" Leo asked Agatha. 
"No," Agatha agreed. "Someone's tampering with the Evil Eye…" 
"That would be Morrigan's doing," Morgana grumbled. "She's just showing off…" 
Leo was torn between being thankful that nothing R-18 showed up on the screens and not being to see these R-18 images on the screen. At the very least, he wanted to know what tickled Ath3na's or Lyghtning's fancy. And by the way Max was cursing, Leo guessed that the imp agreed with him. 
"What the f*ck is up with this PG-13 b*llsh*t!" he grumbled. "Show us some skin already!" 
Eventually, the battle between Argonaut and his teammates appeared on screen, and it was at this point when Leo signaled Donatella to check out audience sentiments online. 
She and Max read out comments like, "Black Howler got pwnd!" and, "Lyghtning forever!" as well as, "I got to get me a Tenebrea!" 
Mostly, the comments discussed how amazing Tenebrea was and how OP it seemed in Argonaut's hands. This prompted Donatella to explain a few things. 
"In the right hands, Tenebrea is indeed a powerful tool, but make no mistake, the power it is displaying now is not due to Argonaut, but the creature that has stolen his heart, the Sin of Lust," Donatella explained. "No mortal could wield such devastating dark magic without aid." 
"Yup, she's definitely tooting his horn," Max chuckled. 
A comment came up about no one else managing to get Maleagant to drop Tenebrea in the DW raid. This was repeated enough times that Leo messaged Donatella to say exactly what he wrote down. 
"This just in from the Game Master," she pointed out. "Tenebrea is a special item that will play an important role later on. For now, only one is available. If you want it then go and claim it!" 
"You just put a giant target on Argonaut's back," Morgana chided. 
"Yup," Leo chuckled. "He can take it… and Ath3na won't let her team member get mugged. And her problem will draw Black Howler and Lyghtning in to help… it'll be a big thing." 
"You're already setting up the next event, aren't you?" Morgana guessed. 
"Uhuh," Leo nodded. "What do you think of this title… Guild Wars?"
"Hmm," Morgana mused. "Too on the nose." 
"I'll workshop it," Leo chuckled. 
The sound of Max and Donatella excitedly telling the crowd that Ath3na's team had finally moved on to the third floor caught Leo's interest. 
He watched on the screen as Ath3na's team looked on with dumbfounded expressions as a snoring giant was sleeping in their path. 
"Looks like the Sin of Sloth is up next!" Donatella announced. 
"Ya-ha!" Max laughed. "Say, Donatella, want to bet on whether or not they survive it?"

'No, I don't like puzzles and all, I hate them, But formations are different, you just have to pay somebody to carve them on your things, and Tadaa~ you got awesome trinket without effort. But I was only familiar with those things from light novels never saw real one. I need help on that',

           Lan was pretty disappointed seeing all those restrictions. All the powers were so nurfed that even Lan was not willing to buy them. 

'Even simple Trapping Spirit Art, it take freaking 2 hours per each person to set up, then that means I have to work for long time and if my target brought extra sidekicks with him, It will not work. Even Small Shied is single use. And system, why there are only 1342 spirit arts? Shouldn't be there plenty of them?'

'This is pretty harsh, System!' 

Lan shouted few times to release his frustrations. 

' If these spirit arts are known by that many people, everybody will notice it right away when I deploy it, won't they?' 

           He figured that system doesn't want him to rely on spirit arts or generally spirit arts are that much restricted. 

'I believe it to be former. Why? Because I want to!' 

            But as smart as he was, he found a way through this.  He bought all the books on spirit arts. 

'If you want me to bend by having small door, I will just break the walls and enter.' 

That was something Lan follows wholeheartedly. 

'Books make man. No! I will not be the man. I am Great Ancestor with plenty promising youths in my family, who needs this type of knowledge. I will make them study this so they will have good future. It's all for them. No! This was not about when they joined in hooting against me, not at all.'

             While planning all that he finished his daily routines. He still did not have any solution to solve Situ family's problem. To solve it he needs more data, so today he planned to assess actual situation in Black Cloud city. To know the real thing, he has to go incognito. Incognito is keyword here. For long time he dreamed of doing something like this, so today he was excited. Before that he has to find out about all members of family. 

'Know yourself then your enemy, then you can manipulate everyone and you will be unstoppable.'

           So he used his old tactics, and bought plenty hidden cameras, they were very cost efficient and wireless with batteries which can keep them running for months without worry. Lan never found those back on earth, battery life was too good.
         He bought big screens and fixed them to walls. He bought big antenna with wireless hub. After going through set guide he fixed antenna and distributor near his building with help of big 500 m long metal pillar. His newfound increased physical strength left him grinning like fool, resulting in weird glances from patrolling guards.
 
        After all that work, he was left with room which has wall laden with LCD screens, and rumbling generator in backyard. Satisfied with his arrangement Lan nodded to himself. Now I just have to fix all the hidden cameras everywhere. His setup gives his ability to place wireless cameras anywhere in 15 km according to manual. He planned to do this today.

"What? Your mother was taken by her family and your cultivation was crippled. Boys, bring out cars! We have a mother to kidnap!"

In the midst of the entire situation, Julianna had been laying around under the pile of junk that toppled over her earlier, and she had just began to shuffle her way out. Julianna grumbled as she shuffled herself out of the junk pile and began to mutter her annoyance of having to go on a mystery-solving spree and that she'd rather be home watching a horror movie. Julianna stood up and brushed herself off, but began to notice that everything was quiet… too quiet… Julianna look at the ends of the upstairs hallway, but things were dead silent here and there as well. A door suddenly pops up across the railing and a pathway to the door, made entirely of the floorboards, stands in front of Julianna. Julianna backs away, but the pathway pulls her in like an escalator all as the door opens. Julianna jumps up and attempts to run away, but the pathway sped up faster and faster until Julianna was suddenly flown through the door.

Julianna lands onto a black ground and groans. She gets back up and sees that she's in a pitch black room. The room the illuminates a blue light. The light begins to giggle in a familiar voice.

"Mellisa?" Julianna asks in slight shock. The blue light then forms into Mellisa then began to float around her. Julianna tries to grab the floating Mellisa, but her the entity just phased through her hands. Julianna's armed shivered in disbelief as she quietly uttered, "What… the… hell…?" The entity giggled in Mellisa's familiar laughter, but then another laugh is heard from afar, and the blue entity flew away to the sound. Julianna cried, "Wait!" and began to follow the entity. However, Julianna was running through a black abyss and could honestly be going anywhere. Julianna began to slow down and was getting tired. She kneeled over to catch her breath, and just then, a light began to shine behind her. The shining light was revealed to be a hallway with a set of doors. Julianna examined the hallway but then spotted the blue entity, and a red entity sporting a form similar to that of Sonia's, as they headed straight through one door and out of the other. Julianna immediately gave chase and ran through the door, however, she ends up coming out of the door next to the door she entered.

"What the-…" Julianna spoke out. The big gloomy girl scratched her head and then decided to go through the same door, only to end up exiting through the door that was far away from the door she entered. Julianna was getting confused and angry, but she then hears Mellisa and Sonia's laughter again but through the door next to her and begins to run straight inside. But as she opens the door, the blue and red entity exit the door and go into a further door, which then causes Julianna to not to through that door and just chase the entities. Julianna chases the entities door after door, coming out of different exits, all while the entities go through various doors themselves, seemingly making Julianna lose her mind as she runs through all of these doors. Doors were opening from left to right to sideways to in the corners to atop the ceilings to under the floors to on the rugs, and all three of them were suddenly going through the same doors, not knowing that they were following each other. It got so crazy that all of the doors suddenly came to a shut, and just then, a walking, talking fox and rabbit come out of one of the doors themselves to greet us!

"Hey there! I'm Jean-Luc, and this is Joey. We don't belong here, but heck, its Halloween," Jean-Luc greets casually.

"Even we love to have some spooky fun!" Joey says with his joyous tone.

"Alright, we'll let you guys get back to this story. See ya!" Jean-Luc finishes, then he and Joey head through the door across from them, allowing the story to properly continue. Just then Julianna comes out through a door on one side of the hallway, and the red and blue entities come out through the other side of the hallway.

"AHA!" Julianna exclaims and then she leaps in an attempt to tackle the entities, but instead they phase through Julianna once again, and proceed to laugh at her. They then float upward through the ceiling and out of Julianna's view. Julianna gets up and brushes herself off and then a door opens up with a swirling purple portal coming out of it. Julianna slowly walks to the portal and stands in front of it. However, the blue and red entities come back and mischievously snicker at each other. They then turn back into the forms of Mellisa and Sonia then sneak up behind her. "Sonia" shoves Julianna's cap down her head, blinding her, while "Mellisa" shoves her inside, slams the door hard, and then magically shifts the doorknob and keyhole so she can't come back. Julianna screams as she flies through the portal unknown where she'll end up next. Meanwhile, Mellisa had been stumbling down the stairs that she fell from when she encountered the ghost of an elderly man. Mellisa finally tumbles to the bottom and rubbed her head in a small wince of pain. Mellisa hopped back up and saw that there were mirrors lined along a straight path. Mellisa started at the mirrors and saw how goofy they made her face and body look. Mellisa giggled and continued to goof around with herself, but two of the mirrors behind her began to glow and emanate a green hue. Mellisa takes a notice at the hue and becomes mesmerized by it. The curious, cheery girl stares at the mirror with her big blue eyes, and then she touched it. The touch ZAPPED Mellisa! Mellisa shook up from being electrocuted and ended up creating a second Mellisa. Mellisa flew off and bumped into one of the mirrors while the clone stood up and began to talk to her.

"Say, are you ok?" the clone asked.

"Yeaahhh… just a little bump on the noggin and-" Mellisa stops when she notices the clone and then begins to spout, "Say! You're me!"

"Really? Cause I thought I was you!"

"If you're me, then am I you?"

"That depends. Do you like Scooby-Doo?"

"Why I sure do!"

"Me too!" Mellisa's clone answers back, and they both begin to giggle happily. Mellisa then tells her clone that she's on a mystery to find a shadowy beast that's been lurking the mansion, and Mellisa's clone immediately asks if she can join them. Mellisa cheerfully allowed her to join and they both hug each other very tightly.

"So what does this ghastly, ghostly, garnishing monster look like?" the clone asked.

"Well it's tall, and it's got a cloak on, it's dressed in rags, and it's got spooky red eyes," Mellisa explained, "Oh! And I found a clue which is this lump of cat and dog fur." Mellisa's clone examined the cat-and-dog fur, and proceeded to feel it. She agreed that the clue was indeed fur, but also began to question, "If this is fur from a cat and dog… and it smells like one of them bathed in a fancy-esque conditioner… why would a cat or dog be doing here? Then again… it could be a really tall guy with both blonde and brunette hair."

"Oh oh yeah. Yeah," Mellisa agreed, "But the question is… where could this beast be now?" Mellisa and Mellisa both pondered the situation not knowing that the shadow beast was standing behind them, lowly growling. Mellisa began to pat the shadow beast, thinking that it was her bestie and politely stated, "Not now bestie, I think I have a lead," then continued to ponder. The original Mellisa, however, looked up and saw that bestie… was not bestie…

"M-m-m-m-m-mellisa-a-a-a…?" Mellisa shivered to her clone. The clone politely answered but then the original pointed at the shadowy beast in a fright. The clone turns and sees the shadow monster and the monster growls at her, causing the clone Mellisa to exclaim, "ZOINKS!" and jump into the original Mellisa's arms. Both Mellisas shivered like goofballs as the monster intimidates them. The monster then pulls out an old cassette player and turns on some groovy '70s music that was perfect for comedic chase sequences and then attempted to grab the girls, but they had immediately zipped away before that could happen. Both Mellisa's ran straight into a dead end, but the clone opened up the mirror like a door and pulled herself and the original Mellisa inside then shut it fast. The monster however caught the door just in time and jumped inside itself.

When a ginger-haired teenage girl named Sonia is suddenly destined to fight demons led by a maniacal entity and save the universe from falling into Eternal Darkness, she must endure the challenges such as excessive homework, late night homework, drama queens, sleeping in class, battling giant monsters, overcoming her deepest fears, and the mania of living with a slapstick cat-and-dog duo. 

Man! This girl can't get a break, can she?

Lucia stood in her suite in a daze.
The gorgeous chandeliers, stunning room decor, T.V and everything else left her utterly speechless.
"Princess, if you have any major problems or need our assistance, just hold the phone like so, punch the number 01# on this daily pad and it should connect to our staff down below.
With that, I bid you farewell princess."
The Butler bowed professionally, stepped outside and closed her door.
He had briefed her on everything about the room, so there was no point staying any further.
'Bam!'
Lucia, who had been trying to contain herself to some degree, finally exploded.
The first thing she did was run towards the room and jumped on the massive king-size bed there.
Holy cow! It was big!
Ahhhh!
She rolled on it from left to right and right to left several times while trying to fully take in its softness.
Earlier on, she felt like the cushion in the limousine was the softest thing ever.
But how could she have known that she would be wrong so soon?
The bed was so soft that it was quickly sinking her to sleep.
But she dared not sleep yet.
How could she do that when she hadn't even finished exploring her grand room?
No! This room was freakin' huge.

She had 2 walk-in bathrooms and 2 massive rooms at the opposite ends of the suite.
One bathroom had a jacuzzi in it, while the other even had a steam room in it.
Let's not even talk about the mirrors that were so clear and clean when compared to the copper or bronze mirrors that she was used to.
Once more, she was shocked by her own reflection.
She had only seen herself properly using tge mirror in the limousine.
At first, she thought it might be some illusion.
But now, she knew that this was how she really looked like.
Which girl didn't fancy themselves when looking at the mirror?... Especially when they knew that they were indeed good-looking?
She wasn't narcissistic or anything, but this was her second time seeing herself this clearly, so of course she would look in the mirror more.
Soals, towels that were also soft, bathrobes, magical water that flows on its own, magical lights and everything else around her looked too good to be true.
After exploring her bedroom and bathroom, she then went back into the massive parlour space that looked like a hall.

While Mir was consoling Kor, Valdel spoke to Ren. "Did you know about that trap?... Why am I even asking such a stupid question, of course, you knew about it. I can already guess what you want to happen, you know sometimes it would be nice if you told us what you're planning before you do something,... I hope we can survive this ordeal."  
"Hmph, what's there to be afraid about? The worst thing that could happen is just death. Also even if we avoided that teleportation spell, we would still need to fight here eventually so why not just  get it over with."  
"Ren do you need me to fight with you? In my current state, I do have the knowledge on how to fight deities, but with my body still adapting to my newfound abilities, I might not be as effective in battle." Lara interjected as she sensed the divine aura increasing, meaning a deity was about to descend.  
"When have I ever asked for help in battle? I will deal with her myself, all you need to focus on is to protect those two." Ren gestured at Kor and Mir.  
"Very well, I hope you have a great battle." Lara approached Kor and Mir and told them to stay by her side.  
"Tsk, I want to fight alongside you, but with my current power, I'll be nothing more than a liability... Even after regaining my past life's memories, I'm still so weak... Damn it! Next time Ren, I promise next time no matter the opponent I'll be fighting by your side. So you better win this one!" After saying his piece, Valdel went to the corner of the room alongside Lara and the others.  
Ren then took out Snertal from his shadow and waited for the Goddess of Light to descend. The room was slowly being filled with very pure mana, and what Ren could only describe as a divine aura. It was at that moment, a blinding light filled the room. As the light slowly dimmed, right there in the middle of the empty room a woman of incredible beauty appeared.  
Even though she was in the shape of a human, everyone who saw her would never think that she was a human. The sheer aura of her presence was overpowering. The woman who was wearing light clothing looked at Ren and smiled a very radiant smile.  
"You must be the current incarnation of the Strongest Mortal Soul, Ren right?"  
"Yeah, and you must be the sh*tty Goddess that these lunatics believe in. What was your title again, the Goddess of trash?" Ren tried to provoke the Goddess into attacking, but it just made her smile. The Goddess of Light then continued to talk as if Ren said nothing.  
"I am the Goddess of Light. I have heard a great deal about you among the other deities, and now that I see you in person the rumors about you are indeed justified. For a mortal like yourself, to possess such pure mana is astonishing. Still, if you wish to fight me, then it would only lead to your death. I understand that you are a very powerful person, that could probably defeat minor world deities, yet you're no match for a Goddess such as myself. The power of world deity is based on the power when that world deity was still a mortal, multiplied with the power of belief one gets from their worshippers. So it is safe to say with how many worshippers I have, I am easily one of the most powerful world deities in the current era. So how about instead of fighting me, you become my representative in the mortal world? As my representative, you would have the most authority second only to my own. If you want you can stop the oppression of the Demi-humans. Just one word from me and my worshippers will treat the demi-humans as equals. So how about it, are you willing to comply?"  
The Goddess of Light showed a bright smile on her face, expecting Ren to agree with her proposal. She was confident that there was no downside in her proposal, that Ren would have no reason to refuse.  
"Are you done talking?" Ren yawned as he asked that question, which confused the Goddess of Light.  
"Huh?"
"You kept on yapping and saying so many things that I don't really care about. Still, let me give you an answer to that proposal of yours." Ren summoned a spear from his shadow and threw it at the Goddess of Light's face. The Goddess caught the spear and disintegrated it as she glared at Ren.  
"Now that you know my answer, let's get started!"  
"Foolish, arrogant mortal! It would seem that your pride has inflated simply because you have that fancy title of Strongest Mortal Soul. Allow me to bring that pride of yours down a notch!" The Goddess of Light roared in anger as she felt insulted by Ren's lack of reverance in challenging her.

Author's Note: This chapter is not mainly set during the current events of the plot. It centers around the relationship of Aunt Mallory and Uncle Luke, and jumps around on the timeline. A young Mallory and Luke are sitting in a modern looking apartment, looking out at the big bustling city. "I am so excited to be here!" Mallory exclaimed. "I'm glad, we have places to go and people to see!" Luke said happily. "And, I have a surprise for you dearie." He finished. "Yay! I'm excited, I feel like a teenager. We finally got away from Jax, I am so annoyed with him. How could he treat my sister like that? It's her baby, not just his. She carried Sarah, she gave birth to her, he's just...…such an incompetent husband." Mallory finished. "I know, she'll be okay. She's a strong one, she just needs to keep Sarah out of their business before she gets hurt. Anyway, we don't need to think about that now. We came here to make time for each other, not for their bickering." Luke said, grabbing the car keys from the cup by the hotel room's front door. "Right, where are we going?" Mallory asked curiously. "Dinner, we are going to go have a fancy dinner." Luke answered as they got to the car.
Later in the evening:
The couple were at a fancy restaurant with red carpet, shiny walls with large mirrors, and waiters with suits. They had a nice evening, and the night was wrapping up when all of a sudden Luke dropped to the floor. Mallory looked down to see him on one knee, holding a box with a ring. He asked if she would marry him, and she agreed. Everything was peachy, until she started seeing what seemed to be "minor" red flags. "Hun, who are you on the phone with?" She would ask. "No one, not important. Oh, why don't you go shopping? I have work to get done", he would respond. One day, Mallory came to a revelation. She decided to call her sister. "Amelia, I need help. I think Luke is cheating.....or maybe worse." She reasoned with her sister, and they came to the conclusion that Mallory and Luke needed to have a legitimate conversation about the matter at hand. "Luke, we need to talk." Mallory brought up. He didn't answer, so she went in a search. This talk was incredibly important, for her at least. Mallory searched the entire house, but he was nowhere to be found. So she ran outside, that's where she heard him. Mallory followed the voice into the forest behind their estate. That's when she knew...that wasn't her husband. It was a godforsaken demon. "What are you?" Mallory yelled. "What did you do to Luke?" She asked worriedly. "Oh, he's fine. I would know, I'm your husband. Do your research on someone before you decide to marry them. Now that you've seen me like this...…" he responded, while pointing to the small horns atop his head. "I guess there's no going back. Well Mal, how��s it feel being married to a demon?" Luke responded with a chuckle. "You are not Luke, you are a godforsaken being." Mallory said. I'm your husband, but I'm not Luke. My name is Loki, the demon. Do you know how annoying it is to reason with a snobby rich woman who doesn't care much about herself? God, most of you only care about yourselves, but you barely do. It's a change of pace, an annoying one at that." He said, frustrated with his mistake of timing. "I cannot be married to something outside of our god Luke!" Mallory said anxiously. "Divorce then?" He asked maliciously. About a week after this incident, and Loki's constant rituals, Mallory was sick of it. She filed for divorce, but he always watched her. Haunted her, in a sense.

3 Weeks Ago:
I need to call him, but I don't want to be near him. We never got to intertwine, but he can still feel my emotional state. Damn it, it's not supposed to work like this! Mallory thought. "I might as well call him, for Sarah��s sake at the least." She said quietly as she picked up the phone. She turned around, looking everywhere in the house, checking for Amelia or Sarah. She couldn't see either of them, so she dialed his number. "Oh, hello dear. How can I be of assistance?" Loki asked mockingly. "I don't want to play games with you right now, you godforsaken monster. We need to talk about Sarah. It's happening." Mallory answered. "It? Already? They swore nothing would be visible until she became an adult and it's already starting? Is it controlling her yet?" He asked doubtfully. "I have no idea, she goes to that new school tomorrow, and I'm a bit worried. She seems distant, like she is trying to find someone. But then, disassociate herself from everyone else. She...…..I just don't want her to be stuck like that because of Amelia's final decision. The girl doesn't listen either! I tell her to do so many things, and she can't accomplish one without crying or going back into her shell!" Mallory said, annoyed at her failure. "Maybe because you break her Mallory. You don't give her a chance to succeed because you can't get over her mistakes. Why are you expecting so much out of her?" He asked accusingly. "She was modified in the brain, Loki! She should be able to do so much, what do we do about her now?" Mallory asked. "Bring her here, I could use her help anyway. Might as well use her for our own purposes at this point." Loki said. "You're cruel, but she'll be better off away from the big city for a bit. We'll be there in 2 weeks, be ready."
Present time:
Mallory and Loki are sitting in Loki's study, discussing their future for Sarah. 'We have to figure out what to do, she is changing quickly." Mallory said. "Yes, we do. The Herestrians still have some hold on her, she wouldn't be having those pains, especially for something as simple as quick memory loss. She thinks it's from an accident, so it should be as simple as that for her. But it's not. You mentioned earlier intertwines, correct?" He asked. "Yes, Sarah mentioned multiple people that it could have been with, though. So I'm not sure what the traits are with her intertwined people. But the pain, it's not like they can just flip a switch and put her in excruciating pain." Mallory said, coming to conclusions of her own. "No, no they can't. We can't tell her, but this all has to be caused by her...Modification Illusion."
