Those three words are the ones he told me as he extends his hand to me- smiling, in front of the large silver mirror that doesn't host his reflection, but instead was like a doorway.

He looked as beautiful as the rose in glass case. Like a doll- and a bishounen from my collection of mangas at home. He wore with him a peculiar school uniform, and bears a hand fan with him.

I took his hand. And slowly, we enter the mirror.

Through the looking glass, I saw myself a world unlike any other, where childhood stories came to life.

The headmaster's question caught Silver off guard, "Fear? Fear is part of the three big exceptions together with intrigue and ambition, they can't be found within the second layer of one's mind. If I have to guess I would say fear is either held within the brain, which holds your current thoughts, or within one's magical power itself, something we have difficulty researching properly."
The headmaster smiled as she replied with some difficulty "Those are indeed some of the more popular theories, let me ask you another question. What does the world want?"
At this point Silver was sweating, the headmaster was asking her weird question after weird question that didn't seem related at all, what did this have to do with Villin?
Still, acting impatient and entitled would be a quick way to get yourself killed and so Silver swallowed her worries as she thought about the question. 'What does the world want?' was a very odd question. After all, nobody knew if the world was sentient or if it was just a big rock. She herself did believe the word to be a somewhat sentient being though, as for the reason, the world itself was the source of magic power and everyone knew that things that created a lot of magic power were generally powerful and intelligent.
Not knowing the true answer to the question, Silver was forced to make a guess, "Thrive. The world's purpose is to thrive, have the races atop it reach new heights."
"Almost!" came the headmaster's reply, "Even though thriving is likely its secondary purpose, there is one thing it must do no matter what."
The headmaster looked at Silver but looked disappointed when she didn't seem to be getting any ideas, "The world's primary purpose is to survive Silver, survive."
Hearing how simple and straightforward the answer was, Silver momentarily felt disappointed in herself before focusing again, she still had no idea where this conversation was going.
The headmaster sat back in his chair relaxed as he looked at the stone ceiling, he seemed to be thinking of something that happened long ago. After being in this state for a few minutes, unnerving Silver, he finally spoke again.
"I still don't know where intrigue and ambition come from, I doubt anyone knows. But fear, fear is a countermeasure the world itself created to counter these feelings."
Hearing his first lines, Silver began thinking about the words the headmaster was saying seriously, there must be something he was trying to explain.
"In the absence of fear, humans, and beasts would never stop trying to defeat bigger and stronger things. Without fear of death, they would throw themselves towards any enemy they stand a chance of defeating. After some time, they would set their eyes upon the greatest thing they can reach, not being afraid of death or consequences, at some point they would try to kill the world itself, even though they would not succeed, they could harm the planet quite seriously and they would all die themselves as well, stopping the planet's need to thrive.
"I believe this may have already happened at some point in the past, possibly with extremely dire consequences. And so, the world itself created two things to keep beasts and humans in line. One was fear, as for the other, it was something to fear." finishing his sentence, the headmaster's voice slowed down, Silver swallowed deeply as she wondered what it was they were to fear.
"With the emergence of these two things came two worldly treasures. Places of unimaginable power, those beyond any human's capability. I am quite sure that you, yourself have been inside one of these locations before without even realizing it."
Hearing the headmaster's borderline-deranged words, Silver tried to comprehend the information. Yet no matter how much she thought, she couldn't think of a place she had been in that held such an insane amount of power.
The headmaster took a sip of his tea while looking at the struggling Silver, he had long since forgotten how fun it was to play with people's hearts.
Still, he thought guiding her towards the solution was mildly entertaining and so he continued to do so, "Tell me now Silver, what do you know about the first central war?"
When the headmaster asked this question, Silver truly felt flabbergasted. The headmaster asked her question after question, each of which seemed mostly unrelated to each other, she wasn't manipulative herself and couldn't keep up with his games at all. If it was someone else making her feel this way she would probably grit her teeth and get annoyed but in front of the headmaster she just felt helpless.
Silver thought deeply, the first central war happened long, long ago. Information from it was nearly entirely gone and one couldn't find it anywhere. Information from the central wars got hidden deeply and other than the third one that was relatively recent, it simply wasn't possible to find reliable information on the other wars.
Still, she tried to summarize the little bits she knew of, "From the tiny bit of information I gathered it was some sort of uprising. The continent was in chaos during the period and many died. In the end, the clearest consequence is the ban on mirrors and similarly reflective surfaces."
Seeing what she gathered, the headmaster nodded, at least she seemed curious, otherwise she wouldn't have been able to gather even that much.
"Now tell me, Silver, have you ever looked into a mirror?"
Shocked by his words, Silver hurried to reply, "Of course not headmaster! I wouldn't dare to do something like that! I'd be killed without as much as a trial!"
The headmaster smiled as he pointed his finger towards the floor to the right of Silver. A large rectangular object rose with a large tarp covering it. "Do you want to?"
Silver was about to hurriedly decline when she saw the look on the headmaster's face. This wasn't a trap, he was genuinely asking her if she wanted to do one of the most illegal actions on the entire continent.
Yet, still, she couldn't bring herself to refuse. What was behind those mirrors that was so terrifying that the entire magical world was still terrified of it so many centuries after the first central war?
The look on Silver's face obviously didn't escape the headmaster's eyes. He smiled as if he approved of Silver's curiosity. "The first central war was caused by a headmaster."
Hearing that bombshell being dropped by the headmaster so casually, Silver took in a deep breath.
"He found the great Roland's biggest gift to The Academy and wanted to utilize it, control it."
Hearing this, Silver began getting an idea of what was going on, "Fear? Did he leave behind the source of fear, one of those worldly treasures you mentioned?"
A sly smile covered the headmaster's face as he nodded, "Almost. It wasn't fear itself but instead, the thing created that people were to fear, and still fear to this very day."
These words were enough for Silver to finally put the pieces together, "Death! The room of horrors!"
When the realization hit, it hit hard. She had previously already wondered why the great Roland chose to found The Academy where he did. The room of horrors wasn't built within The Academy, The Academy had been built around it.
"They tried to control death itself…" Silver's voice lingered as she imagined what the first central war could've looked like but her thoughts were interrupted by the headmaster.
"But they failed. And so, they settled to control the dead instead. Mirrors are gateways to the afterlife. With the help of certain techniques, restless souls of the dead would come through them and attack the living. The headmaster of the time nearly won, but after some time he could no longer truly control the dead. He got consumed by them and the rest of the world was left to try and clean up his mess. Many died unnecessary deaths and it also caused the creation of certain horrifying creatures."
Silver barely held herself back from emitting a low whistle. I did sound quite scary, being able to send legions of the dead upon the world. She had been within the room of horrors herself as punishment once or twice when she was in the first grade, she had very bad memories of the place.
Before she could properly respond, the headmaster made a pulling motion towards the covered mirror and the tarp shot off, revealing a massive glass mirror.
In shock, Silver's gaze fell upon it. At first, she simply saw herself, looking back at her. This was the first time she had truly seen herself properly that wasn't on a portrait. Yet, before she could appreciate the sight, the mirror darkened and unholy creatures seemed to be flying towards the glass from the distance.
They started as small specks on the mirror but they soon grew as they got closer. Silver could see rotten, boney faces and yellow teeth. She could feel their hunger as they set their hollow eyes on her. These creatures were nothing like Richard. These were savage beasts, no longer sentient.
As they got closer, Silver glanced at the headmaster, he would cover or break the mirror before they arrived, surely!
Surely.
Surely?
The creatures got closer and closer, in but a few seconds they would reach the glass. Seeing as how the headmaster still made no moves, Silver stood up and reached for her wand.
Why wasn't he making a move?
Silver felt worried as only a few seconds were left before the dead would reach the glass of the mirror. She took a step back and prepared a spell she thought might work.

Taking the money from Fay, I decide on what I need most to survive. What I need most now is a weapon like a sword or a dagger.

I ask Fay if she has any swords or daggers for sale. Fay had a thoughtful look before she went to a back room and then came back with a sword and dagger. They looked old and blunt with some dents and chips in them.
"This is our cheapest sword and dagger that we have in our collection. The sword is 2 silver and the dagger is 1 silver. Weapons are very valuable to people hence their high price, even the cheapest weapon will cost 1 silver no matter the condition.

With no other choice Ace bought the two weapons leaving him with 2 silver. Even if not much, they are better than his stone weapons.
"Miss Fay. Do you think you can answer a few questions of mine? I ask Fay.

"Sure. Go ahead and ask." Fay responded.
"Does magic exist or not? If it does how does someone use it? What are the different levels of power of people and beasts? And how do I join the guild to become a member?" I asked her question after question not giving her time to respond.

"Thats a lot of questions Ace. For your first question, yes magic exists but not everyone has the talent to use it. On how to use it, we first have to test you to see if you have a talent to use it. If you can then the guild will teach you the basics on how to use magic. After that you can check the libary for more information about how to use it. Otherwise you can go to a magic school or find someone who can teach you more. For the power levels of people there is:

-Low(I-III)
-Mid(I-III)
-High(I-III)
-King(I-III)
-World(I-III)
-Sovereign(I-III)

And for beasts its:
-Low (I-III)
-Mid (I-III)
-High (I-III)

Well this is what we know of. There is apperantly even more power levels on the other continents but no one knows for sure, and remember that a beast is always stronger than a person of the same level. As for your last question, all you have to do is pay one copper to register as a member of the guild and do missions on the mission board." Fay explained everything I inquired about.

Ace took some time to diguest the information he just recieved. 
"Thank you Miss Fay for answering my questions. If you don't mind answering one last question of mine, but why does the guild  teach someone the basics of magic?" Ace asked Fay.

"Well thats because magic users are rare and the more we have the better. You must keep in mind that we only teach the basics, the rest you have to learn yourself." She replied.

"Would it be possible for me to take the test." I ask her a bit exited.

"It is very possible for you to take the test for one silver coin." Fay said with a smile.

It felt like the guild just wanted to milk me of my money but Fays smiling face made it look like she was a friendly stall owner trying their best to sell their merchandice.

Unable to resist Fays' smile and being curious about if he was capable of using magic or not, Ace gave Fay a silver coin.
"Please follow me." Fay said as she headed to a stair way.

They soon reached a room with a small crystal on a stand, with a big mirror covering the one side of the room. 
"Please place your hand on the crystal." Fay instructed.

"What does the crystal do?" Ace asked as he approached it.

"It measures your natural talent. We first measure your natutal talent before measuring your magic talent. If your natural talent isn't high enough then it means that you would be unable to learn magic." Fay explained as Ace approached the crystal.

Upon closer inspection of the crystal, it was sphere shaped and looked like it was made of glass.

Placing his hand on the the crystal, Ace felt his hand tingle. The crystal started filling with dust, which started changing color. It emmitted a bright light while changing rapidly from White to Green to Red to Purple to Blue to Black and then Gold before exploding.
Looking at Fay, I could see that she was dazed. Approaching her, I waved my hand in front of her face trying to bring her out of her dazed state.

Shaking her head, Fay looked at me with astounishment and confusion. Astounishment because Ace blew up the crystal and confused because the light emmitted by the crystal was blindingly bright that she could not see what caused it to explode nor what talent Ace had.
After a few minutes of silence, Fay took it as Ace having the qualifications to test his magic talent.

"Please place your hand on the mirror now Ace." Fay instructed.

Walking to the mirror Ace got close up view of the mirror that covers the whole one side of the room. It was completly silver with a black frame that looked like thorns covering it. It looked more like a giant silver tray in a black frame.

Placing his hand on it, the same thing happened but this time with greater intensity. It changed from White to Gold in an instant. The room was illuminated in a golden light for a second before the mirror shattered into a million peices.

*BANG*

The Door flung open and in rushed a man. He had a head full of white hair and a face with a few wrinkles, he looked to be in his 50's. He has a pair of brown eyes that looked as sharp as a sword, that could slice you if you stared at them for too long. His build wasn't big, nor was it small but one could tell that he was strong.

"What happened?" Asked the newly arrived person.

Ace was a brought up in a very powerful but was killed when he refused a marriage proposal. He then found a sword in the void that told him he was once the strongest god. Join Ace on his journey to gain his former glory.

At the East Sea, an old man wearing green clothing came to a small fishing village and stopped outside. The old man was only carrying a flute on his waist and a jar of wine in his hand.
Looking at some of the dilapidated villages, the old man's eyes filled with emotion, nostalgia, and also memories of the fleeting years.
In the twinkling of an eye, so many years had passed by.
"I'm afraid that in a few years, this village will no longer exist."
The old man stood outside the village for a long time before turning towards a small grove nearby. But, he stopped after taking a few steps.
"Come out!" The old man called in a deep voice.
As his voice died away, two men wearing clothes made of rough material came out of the grove in front. They had the same look, same height, were physically strong, bald, had rustic expressions, and gave the impression of being down-to-earth people from the mountainside.
However, the long knives resting on their shoulders gave them an air of menace.
"Eighth most powerful expert in the world, Lu Pinghai, we have been waiting for you for a long time." They both said in a low, muffled voice at the same time.
Lu Pinghai looked at the two and his facial expression was motionless.
The aboriginals seldom appeared in other nations, and these two specifically came here under someone's order.
"Her Majesty told us to get a Spirit Yuan Pill from you at whatever price or condition you want," the two continued.
As expected.
Lu Pinghai suddenly realized that the order was from Qi Zixiao.
"Tell Qi Zixiao this old fellow doesn't want anything, please go back," Lu Pinghai shook his head and said.
"Her Majesty said that if you do not agree, she will come personally to find you," the two said in response. Actually, what the empress said was to kill him if he refused to give her what she required.
But if they phrased it this way, Lu Pinghai would turn hostile on the spot.
No matter what, he was the eighth most powerful expert in the world and was not easily threatened.
"Then let Qi Zixiao come and find me." Lu Pinghai laughed loudly. He passed through the two men without even looking at them.
Although Qi Zixiao was the fifth most powerful expert in the world and, furthermore, had Hong Wu, the ninth most powerful expert with her, he was still not afraid of them.
Being the eighth most powerful expert in the world, he was definitely confident of himself. They hadn't fought before, who knew what would the outcome be?
Qi Zixiao was originally the seventh most powerful expert in the world, and didn't she kill Hua Sanliu, who was ranked the fifth in the world?

"Lu Pinghai, you really want to offend Her Majesty because of one Spirit Yuan Pill?" The two turned around their hands already on their swords.

That sleeve was like a living thing and loosened from the hilts. It then hit the two men heavily on the chests, causing them to move backward involuntarily. They went backwards for seven to eight steps before stopping and vomiting fresh blood.
"Eh?" Lu Pinghai snorted. These experts who had just attained the Spirit Wheel level could not even resist one strike from him, let alone being hit directly on the chest. But to his surprise, they were still standing over there.
These two that were sent here were already quite powerful, the aboriginals must have a lot of experts.

Black-faced guy is another term for the wild boar.
"Two days!"
Ren Baqian looked askance at the craftsman who answered him.
"Even one black-faced guy could do the job given in two days."
The few men shrugged their heads and quietly listened to the lecture. The row of big and strong men bowed their heads and stood like walls.
Ren Baqian rambled on for a long time before he finally said, "Everyone gets a reward of ten taels of silver and the monthly salary will be increased by one level."
Although these people were stupid to the point where it was beyond cure, they still managed to produce the silver mirror anyway. Scolding and rewards should be dispensed as warranted.
"Thank you, Sir!" Everyone beamed happily.
Ten taels of silver was equivalent to more than two months of their salary. Furthermore, their monthly salaries were increased by one level and that was also quite a handsome sum.
"Everyone, please take your leave." Ren Baqian let the craftsmen leave first before instructing Jiao Zuo on the important works to be done.

There was a big wooden platform with a shelf on it, measuring six meters high and twelve meters wide. A row of concave mirrors was fixed on it and a dazzling white light could be seen from afar. It was difficult to open one's eyes, and many people used their hands to block the white light from their eyes.
The empress came down from her carriage, followed by six high ranking officials: Shi Qing, Zhe Kouhai, Tu Wan, Tong Zhengye, and Qin Chuan. As long as they were available, they were pulled along by the empress.
Everyone wondered why the empress asked so many people to come and what exactly they were going to see.
At this moment, they saw the shelf and the concave mirror which displayed distorted images. Shi Qing, Zhe Kouhai, Tong Zhenye, and some others immediately knew what it was. The empress looked at the big mirror in front and sized it up for a moment. Afterwards, she told Ren Baqian, "You can begin." 
Ren Baqian was very relaxed, he had spent a lot of time building this. Now, it was the time for him to showcase it.
He hoped those idiots didn't mess things up.
After greeting him, thirty guards who normally served him ran to the side to carry thirty mirrors that measured two meters high by one meter wide. Then, they placed the mirrors on the ground, facing the direction of the shelf.
Following which, some people carried a four-meter-long iron bar which was as thick as the circumference of a bowl, and placed it standing upright on the ground.
Ren Baqian walked in front of the row of thirty flat mirrors. He adjusted the angle of one of them, reflecting the sun rays to the concave mirror on the shelf and then the focused beam of light from the concave mirror-reflected to the top of the iron bar.
As he adjusted the angle, the rest of the people followed suit and started to adjust the mirrors. From time to time, he helped everyone adjust the mirrors.
Initially, many people looked at him, but with the empress, Shi Qing, and company fixing their eyes at the top of the iron bar, more of them directed their eyes there and wondered what they would see.
But at once, they got the shock of their lives.
The top of the iron bar suddenly burst into flames without any cause.
One had to know that this was an iron bar. No one was blind, and they were certain that it was an iron bar from the heavy footsteps of the guards that had carried it over as well from the effort it to erect. But, how could an iron bar catch fire?
Even more surprising things were happening, the top of the iron bar not only caught fire but was also melting, and the red-hot liquid iron flowed down the bar.
Very soon, the tip of the iron bar was missing a portion.
Not only was it shocking for those who saw it for the first time, even Shi Qing and company were also surprised.
The previous time, it was just a disk of light which burnt a hole in a steel knife.
This time, it was the melting of an iron bar as thick as the mouth of a bowl, and the difficulty was ten to one hundred times more.
Therefore, several people who witnessed this personally were astonished.
"Your humble servant congratulates the empress and Dayao. This is a great contribution from Sir Ren, and Dayao shall not need to worry about the lack of iron for the next one hundred years," Shi Qing happily announced loudly.

A black fog swirled around him, making him look like a fiendish demon god from hell. In just a few breaths of time, the prosperous city had been reduced to a bloodied ruin. As the wind blew, a dense smell of blood and faint howls could be heard, making this scene seem like a true hell on earth.
The girls' faces were incredibly pale, looking like they had just experienced a terrible sickness. Curtis then says, "that true our king lives in a manor the Alassian Castle sunken down into the sea many years ago before his reign and his ancestors but he a noble ruler he even tried to get involved to fight the cult to but we stop him we have be a strong for him." Crono then says, "I see." Curtis then says, "well there a room over there that was guard and locked and key let's see." They then go to the door and enter it in the room it had bookshelves with books a desk with notes scattered all over it but the one thing that there was this big suspicious mirror in the back of room." Curtis then says, "maybe we can find something out here." Curtis then goes to the desk and looks at the notes." Crono then goes to the mirror and and sees his reflection. Curtis then says, "that pretty narcissistic of you young Crono hahaha I'm joking my friend." Crono then says, "hahaha yeah good one." Crono then puts hand one the mirror this would bring Crono into a dream like state before like in the tombs.


Crono finds himself in a big dark lit brick room with the mirror on the wall. Crono then says, "like before." Crono then turns around and looks where he is. But in the mirror his reflection did not turn around but stare at Crono's back his refection then starts coming out of the mirror. Crono then turns back around and sees this. Crono then says, "what the this now." Crono's doppelganger draws his sword and his sliver short sword. Crono then does the same and says, "what are you." The Doppelganger then swings his swords at Crono. Crono then parries him with the silver short sword and tries to slash him but the Doppelganger rolls back. Crono then says, "how can I fight this he know my every move." the Doppelganger then stands there but the engulfs in fire transforming he had blackish like armor on his body up this his face he had these two horns that pointed out to where he was looking and a big left claw. Crono then says, "oh great it even worse now he can use my powers." The doppelganger then slash black flames at him but Crono dodges it and says, "I think I know its weakness now." Crono then takes his silver short sword and throws it at the Doppelganger he evades it but would hear glass break behind him. Doppelganger then roars in pain and shatters into pieces. Crono then says, "thank goodness." Crono then hears a voice, "flame find the flame." Crono then says, "what." The Voice then says, "find the flame." Crono then looks around and sees this door that wasn't there before. 
Crono then goes to it and opens it and finds himself in a pitch black room the door disappeared behind him there he sees this what looks like a bonfire but it was out not even an ember remains. Crono then says, "what this." The Voice then says, "where the flame was once lit." Crono then looks and sees what looks like a creature it was very skinny had horns on it head and red eyes. Crono then says, "the fire gone out." the creature then says, "the flame went out when you had that Nightmare a couple days ago." Crono then says, "wait your saying this was." the creature then says, "yes this bonfire represents your flame but the event that sparked the flame end the flame." Crono then says, "I see not even and ember remained so your saying I can never use it again." The creature then says, "no the flame once carried was not yours." Crono then says, "what do you mean." The creature then says, "that flame was not yours it was left behind by your father it must a been a parting gift for his lover which was then past down to you his offspring." Crono then says, "my father flame." He then hears a what familiar voices says, "his flame has died out." Crono looks and sees Uriel sitting on a log near the bonfire. Crono then says, "Uriel." Uriel then says, "you can't even use my flame anymore but you never use the full power of my Flame Crono." The Creature then says, "it true but don't lose hope." Crono then says, "what do you mean." The Creature then says, "you may have lost your father's flame but this means you must find your flame." Crono then says, "my flame." Uriel then says, "your flame is much more then any flame Crono then any Angels or Demons." The Creature then says, "the Purest of flames the flames of a humanity find that flame Crono." Crono the wakes up from this dream state back in reality.
