My name is Jacob Ito. I am average height, 20 years old male with black hair, a typical Japanese look if you will, and I am just your ordinary person in a world of 8 billion people. I always think life was just boring and everyone was just a collective matter that flows through the cosmos. I attended a little college called Kjin college near Kyoto. l wake up, eat, shower, brush teeth, then head out to attend class. I sit through class then I walk back to the lonely place I call home. Life was just not that interesting. 

During the weekends, I watch TV or read mangas. That is if I had time to kill. I always want to be like the characters in the stories I read. They are full of life and open to a new Adventure. "What if life was like that." Then reality hits and I am hungry. I am pretty sure that it is normal for a college student on a planet full of dirt and water with big imaginations. 

As final exams approach, I find myself in our local library studying more often. As I am trying to find books for studying, I came across this big dictionary-like, leather-covered, ancient book. This is not an ordinary book, it had a leather strap that keeps the book closed and on the top of the strap there was a keyhole, the title of the book is A World Beyond Imagination. This book caught my eyes because the title was somewhat unique, with the dust on top, it gives this old book a mysterious feel, and I begin searching for the key that can unlock this hidden book. After a long and hard search, I could not find the key so I took the book to the front desk to see if they may possess the key. As I approach the front desk lady, she looked at me with a welcome smile and said: "Hello there, how may I assist you today?" I reply: "I found this book in the library and was hoping you have the key to open this book?" She took the book and begin to inspect the outside of the book, "Sorry sir, it seems there is not a book number or a tag for this book, this book does not belong to this library." I replied: " OH! Then could you please put this book in the lost and found, thank you for your assistant." She replied with a kind smile: "I will, I am sorry that you couldn't read this book, on behalf of the owner I give my thanks." I walked away and went back to studying, ever since that day, I keep thinking of that book. The week of finals is here, I focused on every subject during the exam, Math 3rd section was especially hard, so was history. After every exam day, I walk home, heat some cheap meal and start studying for the next subject. I did not have any friends so I mainly study by myself. 

Today is the last day of the finals and I am so tired. I had big plans after exams first is a meal to celebrate the end of finals and the beginning of summer break. I went somewhere fancy like a good traditional Japanese barbecue, nothing beats a hot tasty meal after finals. But as the night approaches, I began to head home, unknowing that this would be my last day on earth. As I walk in my apartment I take off my shoes and head to the couch in the living room, I saw a box on my table, "this box wasn't there this morning?" I went towards the box. To Mr. Ito Jacob From. There was no name on who it was from. If this box has my name on it, then it's for me, maybe this morning I forgot I took a box out of my storage closet. The box was sealed and untouched, I grabbed my scissors and starting to open the box. "Ohh!" I bounce back on my feet. In the box was the book from the library. Then cool chill rolled down my back as I take the book out of the box, but this time there was a pouch on top of the book, and in the pouch was the key. Now I am confused and scared, a white letter was beneath the book like it was placed there on purpose. I prayed: "gods or God, whoever you are, please don't do this to me?" Then I picked up the letter and opened, there was a note inside. The note read:
To: Jacob
Are you bored? 
Do you wish your life was just a little more interesting? 
Is life hard? 
Have you done anything meaningful in the life you have lived?
If you were to disappear tomorrow, would anyone search for you?
Are you Happy?
"Am I happy?" These questions made me realize that everything I am doing right now I did it because I had to.

"This is just a book after all, what can go wrong?" I replied after reading the note. As I got close and put the key into the embedded lock I felt the deep bone chill and I opened the book. The first page was blank, then I turn to the next page, it was also blank. I had no words to explain how I felt, yes those pages were old, each page was turning yellow and wrinkled. But then I realized that the temperature was a bit colder than 70 degrees Fahrenheit. So I took my focus off of the book and looked up. "What the faewck!!" I was no longer in my little apartment anymore.

A 20 years old student name Jacob Ito, who thought his life was too boring, he was cast into a world called Izla, struggling to survive, young Jacob starts his adventure to find a way back to his previous life.

To Hutton and Stephen, it was definitely a meat pie that fell from the sky!
Although they knew from their families' scriptures of the benefit the Blackstone Mountains would bring them very long ago, they did not expect the benefit to be so amazing. It was the Book of Eternity left behind by the God of Mages, Geresco!
However, after that great surprise, both men landed their doubtful and cautious gazes on Lin Li. 
It was only normal to react this way. As the matter was related to the Book of Eternity—a book that could bring any mage the highest achievements with just a step—any generous mage would become stingy because of it.
Of course, these two were not generous to begin with…
The records on the Book of Eternity was the God of Mages Geresco's knowledge and experience. It was a treasure any mage dreamt to attain. The possession of the Book of Eternity would mean that one had acquired the shortcut to heaven. This shortcut could let any mage enter the Sanctuary-realm without much effort. One might even reach the realm higher than that…
Furthermore, the Book of Eternity had an invincible strength that no one could describe. However, it would definitely be no less powerful than the magic staff that guarded Alanna Guild of Magic. After all, the magic staff was what Geresco used in his younger days, while the Book of Eternity was the work of his entire life.
Who could be generous when such a huge profit was just right in front them?
Hutton was fine. He gave Lin Li a weird glance before lowering his head in silence. He knew that the young president was not somebody to be trifled with.
Unlike Hutton, Stephen cared less about Lin Li. Stephen was the youngest mage that grew up in the most powerful bandit organization of the Breezy Plains. He had always been showered with the love and guidance of the three elders, and had not experienced many setbacks in his life or feared anybody. Overtime, he started to look down on everybody. There were few people he respected in the Breezy Plains. Especially in the younger age group, Hutton was the only one he felt respect for…
As for the guild president who emerged out of nowhere, Stephen had absolutely no interest in him. Since he had not heard of Lin Li's name, he assumed that he was a man with no background or much ability. How could such a man put his hands on Geresco's inheritance?
"Mr. Tutankhamun, I have a question… Since Geresco only had two disciples, does that mean that people who are not involved in this matter should leave this place earlier?" Stephen asked politely, but his gaze resting on Lin Li was filled with obvious enmity.
"…" Lin Li laughed awkwardly at Stephen's query. He did not rebut his words. 
By this time, if there were people who knew Lin Li around, they would think that they had lost their eyesight. How could the fella who would seek revenge for the smallest grievance be so easy to talk to? That was a more unusual scene as compared to watching flowers grow on an iron tree and a rooster lay eggs!
Could it be that the fella suddenly understood the virtue of restraining his anger?
Of course not…
The reason behind his calmness was the similar curiosity Lin Li shared…
Lin Li could not understand why Tutankhamun included him in the conflict for Geresco's inheritance. Tutankhamun might not have known Lin Li's origin, but Lin Li knew very well he was from other world. That world was totally unrelated to the God of Mages in Anril.
"It is true that Geresco only had two disciples. However, I added another condition into the bet then. That is, apart from the descendants of the two disciple, I have the right to appoint another talented mage to join the competition…" Tutankhamun said as he stood up from the table. "Alright, I have finished what I had to say. Wait here and let me retrieve some things for you to see."
The three men sat for another minute doubtfully. Then, they saw Tutankhamun coming out of his bedroom with a black crate. The crate was around two square feet. From the dull metallic glow, it seemed that the box was made from a type of metal. However, the blackness of the box looked very unsightly after all the years. There was no magical wave. It seemed to be just a normal metal crate. 
"The three things Geresco left behind are all in this box…" Tutankhamun said smilingly as he placed the box on the wooden table gently. He was not in a rush to open it.
"M-Mr… Mr. Tutankhamun, could… could we take a look at the Book of Eternity?" 
The gazes of Hutton and Stephen became tense as they looked at the crate with a burning excitement. They could not help but hope Tutankhamun would open the metal box immediately to let them have a look at the relics of the God of Mages.
"Since they are yours, there is no harm showing them to you guys…" Tutankhamun said before showing an uneasy expression. "But, I suddenly recalled that Geresco did not pass the key to this box to me. So… If you want to look at the Book of Eternity, I'm afraid you have to think of a way to open the crate yourself…"
"How difficult could it be?" Stephen laughed in relief. He was still nervous about what Tutankhamun wanted to tell them. So it was just to open a locked metal box.
One of the three Legendary powerhouses of the Dark Blade was a Legendary-level Bandit. Although he chose to become a mage, he had learnt many skills exclusive to Bandits. He had long mastered the skill of lock-picking. Not to mention a small metal crate, if it were the door to Felan's treasury, he had the same confidence to unlock it if he was given enough time to do so.
"Alright…" Tutankhamun replied as he pushed the metal box towards Stephen. "You shall open it, then…"
"No problem!" Stephen put one of his hands on the box, and fished out a thin iron wire from his pocket. Very quickly, the iron wire entered the rusty keyhole. After turning the wire twice, Stephen slowly leaned over and put his ear against the box. How he tried to analyze every sound from the keyhole was just like a masterful Bandit.
Oh sh*t… Hutton groaned to himself. The Malfa Family and Dark Blade had been competing with each other for a few centuries. How could he not know about the existence of the Legendary-level Bandit in the Dark Blade? Now that he watched Stephen pick the lock skillfully, Hutton knew that Stephen had to have been trained in that domain.
That was not a good thing to Hutton. He knew very well that the items within the box were the relics of the God of Mages, Geresco. Although Tutankhamun did not say much when he took out the box, everyone knew the competition had begun. As long as one of them could pass the tests Tutankhamun gave them, the person would be able to acquire the three relics within the metal crate.
The unlocking of this box had to be one of the tests…
Once Stephen managed to open that box, President Felic and himself would be greatly disadvantaged in that competition.
While Hutton was silently dreading that possibility, Lin Li was totally at peace with himself. He shifted his gaze from Stephen back onto the black metal crate. Lin Li was not the least bit concerned about himself being at disadvantage if Stephen were to open that box…
That was because Lin Li knew very well that Stephen would not be able to open that box…
Just when Stephen was picking the lock, Lin Li let out his mental strength to inspect the box for quite a while. There were no magical waves on the surface of the box at all.
That was usually what normal people would expect when they saw that dull metallic surface. It looked just like any other common metal box. It was not strange for it to lack magical waves.
However, the fact that the box contained the Book of Eternity changed everything.
The Book of Eternity had the knowledge that was the essence of Geresco's whole life. Every page was created from the Tree of Eternity that had incredibly strong magical force. Not to mention that the box was made from a normal metal, even if it had been crafted from the Eternal Adamantine, it would not have been able to conceal the powerful magical waves within it.
Although Lin Li still had no idea as to how the box functioned; he was only sure that knowledge of magic was required to open it. One would never be able to succeed just by thrusting a random iron wire into the keyhole like Stephen even if he had a hundred years to do so… 
This is weird… Lin Li's doubts grew bigger the longer he looked at the box. How could a common metal crate be able to conceal the magical wave of the Book of Eternity? Could it be that the box had been treated by mageweaths?
That couldn't be it. There are neither obvious mageweath markings on the box, nor the source of mana that could supply the box with power. Even if the box had been treated by a mageweath, it would not have lasted for 1300 years.
"F*ck!" 
Just when Lin Li was still trying to figure out the workings of the box, a bit of rust flew into his eyes. Then, he saw a bright glow in front of him. When he looked at Stephen again, his gaze was filled with sympathy. 
Trouble definitely would follow such careless thrusting…

A girl panted as she took each step towards her new place.
 
She was carrying a large box, and it seemed like the box will fall any moment now. She stopped for a while, adjusted her grip on the box and continued walking towards her house.
 
The girl dumped the box in front of a house. F013 was engraved on the iron plate nailed on the door of the house.
 
The girl stretched her sore hand and massaged it. She knew that it would ache some times later considering that she made six trips from her car to her new studio apartment.
 
The first trip was relatively easy on her as she had all her energy to lift the box. But her energy depleted with each trip and thank god she was smart; she left the lightest box for the last trip.
 
The girl came to City L because she and her best friend, Pretty Mei Zhen, yes, that's her real name, partnered up to open a bookstore café in here. She will be in charge with the bookstore and Pretty will be in charge with the café.
 
Her hometown is only an hour drive from City L, but the girl thought that she could focus better if she stayed nearby to her store. She searched for this studio apartment herself, so she was delighted with it.
 
It was such a relief that the apartment complex only had one floor so she could manage to lift all her things.
 
The studio apartment she rented was a one-bedroom house in addition to a living, kitchen and dining area. The exterior of the home was so much like those houses you always see in anime.
 
A house like those in anime - That was the main reason why the girl chose the apartment complex to settle for in City L.
 
The girl loves anime, and she aspired to live her life like those in the anime. A life where she had a handsome neighbour, and they fell in love. Or maybe, having a secret rendezvous at night since they lived next to each other.
 
The girl giggled. She was pleased with herself. As someone who is 25-year-old and likes anime, she did not ask much for her love life.
 
She turned to F012, where her first potential male lead in her love story lived. The door was very plain and. It even looked as the house was vacant for sometimes. 
 
Then she turned to the next house, F014 had a very different door colour from the rest of the house. F014 had a grill installed at the front door, repainted the door from cream colour to brown wood, and it even had a bell.
 
Not wanting to think about the occupants in the house next to her, the girl took out her keys and tried to unlock the door.
 
The girl had five keys in total, and all of them looked identical. She fumbled to try each key because her hands were sore.
 
"Ugh, shut it! What kind of landlady dump the keys to me without even labelling them?" The girl whined to herself, and after a few attempts, the door went unlocked with the last key.
 
All her boxes were scattered in front of her house. The girl sighed and felt that having a man to help out during this time of need would be very helpful. Thinking back to what happened this morning, the girl gritted her teeth and cursed her younger brother in her heart.
 
The only man in the girl's life would be her younger brother. Her father passed away three years ago while she was still struggling in university. She is single, and no man seems to be interested in her for the time being.
 
Even the only man in her life refused to help her moving boxes. Her brother felt that going to battle fight with this PUBG teammates was more important than helping his elder sister moving boxes. The girl could not even count her elder sister in. Her elder sister was married to a businessman somewhere in Borneo Island and had been absent from her life for about five years now.
 
While the girl was whining over her miserable first day of moving into her new house, the door on her right opened. The girl turned around to see a pale man with a thick-rimmed spectacle emerged from the door. 
 
The pale man froze when he saw the girl.
 
The girl smiled at her new neighbour. Even with the thick-rimmed spectacle, the man is good-looking. The girl opened her mouth to greet the man, but before she could say anything, the pale man took a step back and slammed the door shut.
 
"What the hell?" The girl paused and then she realised. "Sorry, mom. Forgive me, mom." 
 
Knowing that involuntary cursed escaped her mouth, the girl slapped her lips a few times. If her mom heard her cursing, her mother would be very disappointed in her. The girl looked at F014 with a frowned. Isn't the man too rude? Even if he was surprised to see a beautiful lady in front of him, he should not shut the door to her face.
 
The girl rolled her eyes towards F014 as if the occupant could see her. The eye-rolling made her feel much better, so she started lifting her box into her house.
 
While the girl was carrying her fourth box inside the house, she heard a loud thud. Thinking that someone might try to run over or kicked her last box, the girl put the fourth box hastily on the floor and sprinted to the door to check her belonging.
 
When the girl opened her door, she caught a glimpse of F014 shutting her door.
 
Did the man from F014 try to do something to her box?
 
Even though there was nothing expensive inside the fifth box, the box contained her few electrical appliances and her favourite pillow. Her mother hated the pillow because according to her, the pillow was rude and impolite. 
 
On the pillow, a cat with a smug smile and was giving a middle finger was printed on it.
 
The girl thought that the cat was cool, and she often flashes the Meow with a middle finger at her brother as a sign of anger whenever her brother disturbed her in the house. It made her brother angry every time, and she did not get the blame since it was not her who was giving the middle finger sign, it was Meow the pillow.
 
She lifted the box into her house quickly and put the box on the table near the sink. The book was slightly opened, so she inspected the box if anything went missing from the. To her surprise, nothing was missing; instead, the girl found a book inside the box. 
 
A book that was not hers. 
 
The girl wondered if the loud thud came from the book being dropped into the box. But who would do so without telling her? The man from F014? But why? It could not be a housewarming gift, right?
 
The girl took out the book and saw that there were a few drops of blood on the book.
 
"What the hell?" The girl threw the book to the table. The blood shocked her. When the girl tried to lift and look at the book again, the blood was not there anymore.
 
"Eh? No blood? Am I seeing things just now?" The girl laughed by herself.
 
Now there was this one thing people need to know about this girl. She has a habit that drove her mom crazy that is; she likes to talk to herself. The girl was always alone in the house when her parents went working when she was younger, so she developed the habit of talking to herself. After all, she needed a second opinion from experts. She told her mom that she needed an opinion from 'me, myself and I."
 
"What book is this? Oh, it's a short stories compilation. Since someone put it in my box, then from now, this book is mine, right?" The girl put the book aside, and since she already opened the box, might as well she took the electrical appliances out of the box since she will be using them shortly.
 
The second thing after the book that she took out from the box would be her Meow.
 
She took out the cat pillow from the box and saw that there were blood sprinkles on the pillow. Since the pillow was mostly white, the blood sprinkles stood out more even if the pillow was inside the box.
 
"The hell? Why are you so dirty, Meow?" The girl lifted the pillow and saw the blood sprinkles. Remembering what happened earlier, she did not trust her sight fully.
 
The girl rubbed her eyes to make sure that it was not an illusion. By the time she finished rubbing her eyes, the blood spots were still there. It was not an illusion, unlike the book.
 
The girl bought Meow the pillow to the sink and tried to rub off the blood spots from the pillow. As she was rubbing the blood spot under the running tap, she heard knocking on the door. She put Meow on the sink and went to open the door in case the person who placed the book on her box came to claim the book.
 
"Miss Lily Melody Zhang?" A man spoke right after Lily opened the door.
 
"Meow! That's right!" Lily blurted without thinking.
 
The man was taken aback by how Lily answered him. The silence was deafening and upon realising how weird she was acting; Lily was slightly embarrassed.
 
'Forget it. You heard nothing. Forget it. You heard nothing. Forget it. You heard nothing. If you could not forget about it, then at least pretend you heard nothing'.
 
Lily chanted those words inside her heart. She stared right into the man's eyes in case her mantra will influence him.
 
"I like Pokémon too; my favourite is Gengar." The guy smiled and handed over a package to Lily. "This is a package for you. Please sign here."
 
Because she was embarrassed by her previous action, Lily did not look at the paper and just signed on it. Then, she took the package and thanked the delivery man before she bid him goodbye.
 
She bought the package to the table and wondered who would send her a package. The number of people who knew that she moved into her new house can be counted with one hand. Even Lily herself did not know the exact address of the new home.
 
She scanned around the kitchen cabinet and found a knife. She took the knife and tried to open the package.
 
"Who is it that so stupid to wrap this package with three layers of duct tape? What is so important inside to make them wrap this thing with a freaking duct… Ahhhh!!!"
 
Lily was whining while she was cutting through the duct tape. She exerted a lot of strength in one push of the knife and the knife accidentally cut her finger.
 
"It hurts…. It hurts…" Lily waved her fingers around and stomped on her feet, another one of her habit that drove her mom crazy. Lily told her mom that she stomped her feet to make the pain go away, but no one's buying her excuse.
 
Lily took a closer look on her finger, and a lot of blood dripped from the small cut. Looking at the amount of blood flowing, she might drain all her blood in a few hours.
 
Lily wiggled her hands in an attempt to reduce the pain, but it did not make any difference. Some blood was messily sprinkled on the table and some on the book.
 
The pain magnified.
 
Lily was not sure if pain worked that way, but the pain was too much for her to handle, and Lily felt as if she was slipping slowly.
 
The only thing she saw before she passed out would Meow the pillow on the sink. And Meow was giving her the 'middle finger' sign.

"Don't you think breaking into someone else's house like this is wrong?" Eshaal said holding torch for Ash who was trying to open a wooden box he found in John's bedroom.

"Who cares if it's right or wrong." Ash said busily.

"I do. This is my friend's house."

"Then why do think your friend's family didn't sell this house when they moved out of here? " Ash kicked the box he couldn't open and said.

"They lived in this house for years. They have memories related to this house. It's natural that they don't want to sell it."

"You were shot by an arrow that day and your friend Edd's Spritual device is a bow and arrow."

"You are saying that it was Edd who attacked me that day? That's not possible. Edd would never attack me." Eshaal walked out of John's bedroom.

"How can you be so sure it was not him?" Ash picked up the box and followed after Eshaal.

"He is my childhood friend. I know him."

"Are you sure he is just your friend? The way you are defending him, it looks like you guys are more than just friends." Ash scoffed.

"He is just my friend. Don't talk nonsense." Eshaal turned to look at Ash.

"Why are you getting so angry? Could it be that he is your Ex? but in that case you should not be defending him like that. Do you have a crush on him?" Ash looked into Eshaal's eyes and asked.

"Shut up" Enraged, Eshaal smacked Ash with Minni.

"Ouch!" Caught off guard, Ash wasn't able to stop Minni this time.

"Let's go back" Eshaal said and turned to leave.

"Wait. We have not checked all rooms yet" Ash rubbed his head and said.

"There is no need. All other rooms are empty. Are you going to take that box with you?" Eshaal asked Ash.

"Yes. We have to find a way to open it." Ash answered following after Eshaal.

"But that's stealing."

"You know what? I should have came here alone." Ash was truly annoyed.

"I think this box is sealed by a spell." Sitting in Eshaal's living room, Ash shared his thoughts.

"Then how can we open it?" Eshaal asked.

"First, make me a cup of coffee and I'll tell you then." Ash leaned against the sofa and said.

"Didn't you said my coffee tastes terrible?"

"I was kidding." Ash smiled with his eyes closed.

Eshaal looked at Ash who was relaxing like it was his own home.

Ash was talking on the phone when Eshaal came back after making two cups of coffee.

"I called Sarah and asked her to come here. She knows how to break spells." Ash took the cup and said to Eshaal.

"Ok. "

"Hey. " Sarah came after half an hour.

"Hey. I am so sorry for bothering you so late at night." Eshaal said to Sarah.

"Its fine."

"Can you open it?" Ash asked Sarah.

"Let me see." Sarah inspected the box for a while.

"Can you open it or not?" Ash asked again impatiently.

"I can." Sarah placed her hands on top of box and closed her eyes. After a moment the box opened.There were two books in the box. These books look old and it's pages yellowed.

"Books? " Ash picked up one book and opened it.

"It's the book of forbidden rituals." Sarah said after seeing the contents of the other book.

"This one is about how to break curses." Ash said.

"These two books are extremely rare and hard to find." Sarah passed the book she was holding to Ash.

"I knew this guy John was... Wait a minute. " Ash stopped mid sentence.

"What is it? " Sarah asked.

"One page is missing from this book. " Ash showed the book to Sarah. It was obvious someone tore a page form this book.

"John must have used this book to give his childern Spritual devices. He is not gifted so naturally his kids were not gifted either and he used forbidden methods to give his kids spiritual devices." Ash closed the book and sat beside Eshaal.

"What do you think Eshaal?" Sarah asked Eshaal.

"But what does it have to do with my parent's death? " Eshaal said in a trembling voice.

"Don't worry Eshaal. We will figure it out." Ash patted Ehsaal's hand. She looked like she was about to cry.

"That's right. What should we do now ?" Sarah asked Ash.

Capture John and beat him till he tell us the truth.

"How will you do that?" Eshaal asked Ash in a low voice.

" Call him and ask him to come here. Tell him it's an emergency."

 



Eshaal was a teenager when she found her parents dead in their own room. She was determined to solve the mystery of her parents death with her inherited spiritual device ''Minni''. Later she met a person named Ash. Ash is undoubtedly an exceptionally talented young man. He wield two daggers. Eshaal and Ash are a complete opposite of each other but they were forced to act like a couple and work together.

Standing in his study room, Richard was greeted by five to six tall book shelves lined against the walls. Each shelf was filled with books and scrolls.
Narrowing his eyes slightly, Richard walked to one of the book shelves. He stepped on his wooden ladder and reached his hands to the top of the shelf.
After pushing away many books and scrolls, Richard found a cold, black, metal box in the deepest part of the shelf. This black metal box was about 30 centimeters in both length and width, and five to six centimeters tall. It had complicated lines on it, and it looked strange and mysterious.
Richard used his strength to pull out the black metal box from the shelf. He came down from the ladder and then placed the box on the wooden table in the study room.
He touched the box's surface, which was as cold as ice. There was a flash in his eyes, and his gaze landed on a dent on the surface.
The dent looked like an opened mouth carved amid the metallic lines on the box. If he stared at it from a certain angle, he could see a row of small letters that read: "Use magic to awaken me and I will tell you the truth about this world."
A wizard book. Or the cover of a wizard book.
Richard had found this in the deepest part of the royal library after much difficulty. Even the most senior librarian had been unsure of its origins. The librarian had only known that it was a strange book, with an evil feeling to it and a vicious curse. He had claimed that if he were to come into frequent contact with it, he would either fall sick or have a sudden death. 
Of course, Richard did not believe in these so-called evil powers or curses. To him, this book merely had some volatile element harmful to the human body. As long as he paid attention to the ventilation, he would not die from that slow-acting "poison."
However, it was not easy to uncover the book's secret.
The cover of the book had a special design, and it was very hard to crack. If he tried to forcefully open it, there was a high chance of spoiling its content.
Richard could take some precautions and reduce the chances of spoiling it, but he did not want to take the risk. Therefore, he had been diligently searching for magical creatures and magic-related individuals, hoping that he could attain some magic powers.
At last, he had achieved it.
Phew. 
Taking a deep breath, Richard tilted his head slightly and glanced at the golden liquid on the table beside him.
"Very soon, I will know whether I'm right or wrong," Richard muttered to himself. He took the bottle of golden liquid and removed the cork. Aiming at the dent on the metal box, he slowly poured the liquid into it.
The dent soon was filled. After a long silence, there was a click, akin to a chain reaction being activated. The liquid in the dent came to a boil quickly, many bubbles forming on its surface. The entire metal cover began to shake slightly.
Bang, bang, bang.
A lock was cracked. Gulp! The book "swallowed" the liquid entirely and it disappeared.
The shaking intensified, the metal cover looking like a human trembling. The table's surface began to vibrate as well. At last, there was another click, and the metal cover automatically opened like a box, revealing the true wizard book lying in it.
Richard gently took the book out of the box and placed it on the table. Just then, an unknowing voice came from the depths of the book, "Who… is this? Who is this?"
"Well?"
Richard raised his eyebrows and flipped open the book.
The first page of the book had no words on it, but there was a terrifying, ghastly-looking skull in the middle.
There were scorching flames, which looked very real, in the eyes of the skull. Richard did not know if it was an illusion, but he felt the entire room's temperature rising. 
This…
Something even more shocking happened then. The picture of the skull moved, and it spoke in a cold and icy voice, "Who is that? Who awakened me? Who wants to peep at the knowledge and treasure of Master Monroe? Answer me, or you will suffer the harshest punishment!" 
Anyone who witnessed this would be terrified, but not Richard. He narrowed his eyes and glanced at the skull on the page with interest, before saying, "Who are you?"
"I am the book spirit created by Master Monroe. My duty is to safeguard this book and select someone who is qualified to read it."
"What can you do?"
"I can test whether the reader of this book is intelligent enough. If he is, he is fit to read this book. Otherwise, he will pay a price for his recklessness and ignorance."
"What price?"
"Death!" The book spirit's voice was cold and heartless.
Richard smiled. "How interesting."
Then Richard asked, "How do you test a person's intelligence?"
"A question for a question. If they can answer my question correctly and yet, I cannot answer theirs, they are considered smart enough. As long as I cannot answer their question, they can read this book without any punishment."
"In that case,"—Richard's eyes sparkled—"what is your question?"
"Are you, the one who wants to peep at Master Monroe's knowledge, sure you're ready to accept the challenge?" the book spirit's voice turned serious.
"I'll have to try it no matter what," said Richard. "No matter if it is a success or a failure, I want to research your mechanism."
The book spirit was silent for a moment, as if pondering Richard's words. After a long pause, it said, "Alright, since you have decided to take the challenge, answer this difficult question. There is a strange animal that has four legs in the morning, two at noon…"
Richard was stunned upon hearing that. Wasn't it the riddle of the sphinx in Greek mythology from Earth? In Greek mythology, the sphinx, a lion with a human face, had sat on a cliff near a city named Thebes, standing in the way of any passersby and asking them the same riddle. 
Many people could not guess the riddle and were devoured heartlessly by the sphinx. Later on, someone called Oedipus answered it correctly. Out of shame, the sphinx had jumped off the cliff and died.
Before the book spirit could finish its words, Richard could not resist interrupting him, "And now you're going to tell me it has three in the evening, that it walks the slowest, and its body is weakest when he has the most number of legs, right? Then, you're going to ask me to guess what creature this is?"
The book spirit suddenly stopped talking. It fell silent for a long time, deep in thought. This was seemingly the first time it encountered this.
Richard spoke again to the book spirit, "Alright, if that is the case, I can tell you that the answer is 'human.' When a human is a baby, in the morning of their life, he crawls on four feet, his hands and knees. As an adult, in the noon of their life, they walk on two feet. But when they are old, in the evening of their life, they walk with a cane, on three feet."
However, is it demanding enough to use a riddle to assess one's intelligence? Or perhaps its definition of intelligence is different from my understanding. Is it looking for wittiness, while I was thinking of intelligence? 


This is a story about exploring technology in a wizarding world.
Probability, electromagnetic induction, nuclear physics and theory of relativity—all of this can be mastered through scientific exploration and learning.
Richard had always thought so… until he transmigrates to a world similar to the Middle Ages and becomes a prince. In this world of wizard and magic, he embarks on a journey to explain magic with science. One day, a dragon takes him away.
"This is not in line with aerodynamics? It does not satisfy the Kutta condition, Circulation Theory of Lift and Bernoulli's principle either? How can it fly? Is there a special power source in its body?" Richard could not help saying as he glances down at the huge dragon he was riding on. "Well, I need to research this."
"By the way, you said you kidnapped me to find a playmate for your daughter. That doesn't sound like a good reason, right?"
“Roar!” the dragon hollers furiously and waves its wings, soaring into the sky.
Will Richard be able to continue on his journey of exploration and unravel the mystery of the wizarding world?

Chase was walking down gloomy, mystifying staircases. They spiraled down and down, like a bottomless pit. He started to wonder if there was actually something at the bottom. If there was a bottom. If he followed the clues correctly, he had just found the legendary cave that he had only heard in myths and legends. A cave that was only written about in one book. The Cave Of Magic. 

Chase was a young boy who loved reading fantasy books. Every day, he would come home from school just to be able to read his novels. He wished that his favorite book would become his reality.
He dreamed of becoming a writer himself and had already started writing ideas for stories he could make. His favorite book was The Mythical Secrets By Steve John. 

One day, he went jogging around his street. He had just made it around the corner when a shiny object caught his eye. It looked like a rectangular box that was covered with something that was yellow but was also very shiny. As he slowly approached the box with carefulness but also curiosity, he realized that the yellow substance was actually gold!  Every single part of the cover was covered with shiny, valuable gold. He slowly wrapped his hands around the box. It was surprisingly cold despite the hot sun. In fact, it was so strange that he almost dropped the box back. But then he remembered, this was his chance to finally be like the main character in this favorite book.

After a lot of thinking, he decided to bring the box back home. His house was just a modern house. It had 3 floors including the basement. It was a really nice place to live in, had a lot of space and could provide for 5 people. Once he entered his room, he opened the box. He was expecting to see gold, diamonds, or other precious, valuable materials. But instead of all that, he got a dusty book. It had no writing on the cover. He blew all the dust off then opened the book to the first page. It read, "Thou who reads this and does not finish the quest shall forever be trapped between reality and fantasy." He closed the book and then laughed at the ridiculous sentence, not knowing that this sentence just changed his life forever.

Misfortune or blessing

The door was connected to a room "What is this place?" Arlo was quite bewildered by what he saw. The room was the exact same size as his actual room. The walls were white and for some reason the entire place was quite bright. There was nothing like a light in the entire room which led him to believe the light must've come from the walls. 

"This is a dimensional space big sis made for you. Looks like big brother haven't been using it like big sis told you to.and here I was thinking that I would get to see what big brother has been hiding all this time." Of course Arlo didn't hear the last part.  

"I'll be in my room if you need me. It's the room right next to yours. Don't do anything stupid after I'm gone. Oh and by the way, after you've entered the room the door might disappear. Don't panic when that happens. Just think about the door and it will appear on its own. Okay, good night." Melissa hurriedly went out of her brothers room. 

Right after Melissa left, a mechanical female voice reverberated throughout the entire space. 

[ Welcome Arlo Starheart]

The voice made Arlo jump as he wasn't expecting such a thing. The voice continued.

[Confirmed. The user is the only one in the dimensional space. Will now proceed to removing cloaking barrier. Sir, Please say yes to confirm removal.]

"Uhh...yes?" Arlo wasn't sure whether to say yes or no. This was a rather new experience for him so he was still trying to figure out what to do.

[Confirmed. Removing cloaking barrier. Please wait a moment.]

At that moment the entire room changed. Beautiful blue lines started to appear all over the walls creating beautiful patterns. The white color on the floor slowly faded away giving way to a beautiful marbled floor. Arlo was now amazed at what magic can do but that wasn't the only thing in store for him. A magic formation appeared a few feet away him and a black box started to rise from the formation.

"What's going on? Is this also a gimmick installed in this space to make sure that only I get to see what is stored in here?" The formation soon disappeared leaving a big box right in front of him and not a moment too soon, the voice came again.

[All the barriers have been removed. Have a nice day sir.] 

Arlo didn't pay any mind to the voice this time as he was right now interested in checking out what might be contained in the box. He made his way to the box and opened it while praying that there was something useful inside it.

The moment he opened the box, a lot of information flowed into his mind. It took him some time to process it but what he immediately knew was that this was the information of the items contained within the box. 

This was a dimensional storage box which only he had access to. If you're wondering how he knew that only he can access it, he appraised the box. The information on the box was like this.

Ownership can be passed on to someone else if the owner wishes so.

There were a lot of items within the box but what excited him the most was the books. There were hundreds of books stored within the box and some of them were focused on curses. Not only that, the real Arlo's diaries were also among them. 

Arlo looked inside the box. The inside of the box couldn't be seen. It was as if the box was an endless abyss. Arlo carefully put his hand inside the box. After a strange sensation his hand came into contact with something which felt quite hard. He grabbed it and pulled it out. This was the book on curses which Arlo wanted to read first. 'Huh. It looks like if I have the item I want in mind, I'll be able to take it out without any problem.'

The book had a thick cover which looked quite aged. On the top, these words were written 'An in-depth look into curses'. Arlo tried opening the book but for some reason couldn't open it. It was as if the book had all it's pages bound by an adhesive. After trying for sometime Arlo had to give up. The book just wouldn't open. Arlo stored the book and took out another book. Even for this book it was the same. He tried to open a few more books but it was all in vain. None of them could be opened. 

Arlo then decided to leave those books alone and took out one of the diaries. He tried to open the book but just like the before he couldn't open it, but this time there was a slight difference. Before he could even open the book, Arlo felt as if he was being electrocuted. His entire body felt numb and his hairs stood on end. He immediately let go of the book and the effects disappeared and not a moment too soon, came the female voice. 

[Be careful, sir. The books you're trying to access are protected by barriers. User will need to put in the required sequence into it's formation in order to remove the it and gain access to the books safely. Trying to open the books before that is done could result in quite a dangerous outcome.] 

'Put a sequence into a magic formation? How the heck am I supposed to do that? I'm still a newbie to this world and as if I don't already have enough problems I had to be faced with this. Ugh!' Arlo was now dejected. This experience reminded him of his previous life. He was struck with bad luck in his previous world but even during those times he had never felt like this. 

'Well, this sucks. The bad luck following me hasn't been this frequent, but there's no use getting depressed at such a time. This is my very first day in this world after all.' Arlo put his hand in the box and took out something which resembled a crystal.

The crystal was called a mana crystal. By using appraisal he got to know that this crystal was actually filled to the brim with mana but since he had no use for it he put it back. He then took out something which looked like a cube. It was quite small in size, about a centimeter or so. 

Arlo knew what it was used for. This was something the people of this world use to store information. Even though it may be small, it has enough space to put even the best hard drives of his previous world to shame. 

Arlo examined it for a bit and put it back. After that Arlo walked out of the room. The day was quite taxing for him on many levels so he decided to call it a night as there wasn't many things he could do right now. 

The next day morning. 
Arlo made his way downstairs after a good night's sleep. First he went to the kitchen to see if there's something to eat. When he went into the kitchen the first thing he noticed was a note which was stuck to the fridge. 

'Big brother, we won't be home for the entire day. There's food in the fridge. Make sure to eat on time and DON'T you dare go out on your own. We'll be back by dinner time. Until then, take care.'

The note was from Melissa. It seems Emelia and her had already left quite early this morning. Arlo opened the fridge. A separate compartment was packed with sealed food. Arlo was quite surprised to see this. 

'Ain't this a bit too much? I'm pretty sure that I won't be able to finish all this on my own. Well.. whatever, I'll just eat as much I can.'

After having breakfast he went up to his room and turned on the computer. Luckily he knew the password so he accessed it quite easily. He then started to surf the internet to see if he can find any information on curses. 

After last night, Arlo had already lost hope in being able to access the books in the dimensional box. So he decided to use the computer. And why didn't he use it in the beginning you may ask? Let's just say that he had been through a few incidents and he became reluctant to use computers. Books has been his first choice ever since then.

The information on curses which was on the internet was very limited. Most of the articles stated that he should refer to books and remembering his pitiful situation, Arlo actually felt like crying.

He then checked if there are any videos related to curses. But no matter what he did, he couldn't access them. It was as if he was blocked from doing so. Arlo felt that it was weird but he knew that there was nothing he much could do in this case. 

Since he couldn't find what he wanted, Arlo started to browse through the songs of this world. But while he was doing that an advertisement suddenly popped up on the screen.

                                   Hi! I'm Astona, I'm an archaeologist, I live alone as my parents died when I was 5 years old by a car accident. 
                 
              My godfather took care of me these many years but a year ago he choose to live the earth, he was an archaeologist too. When I was 10 years old my godfather used to take me along with for the research and now I became archaeologist .

              After my godfather's death I started living alone doing my research and I went to Mt.Hanovo in Lamiph city. I was searching hard to discover something new, facing a hard time as I'm going to the peak of the mountain, I was breathing so hard and the air here is very less, because of the hot summer the sun is shining very bright. After sitting for a while I heard some sound and started going to find what it is. As I got closer to it the sound was very clear it's the sound of the water which is falling in lake. 

                  I was so thirsty so went to drink some water and when I'm coming back after drinking some water I found a cave and started going inside, after walking for sometime I found a box which is made of marble with mysterious symbols craved on it. It's a beautiful box but it is mysterious and it's so big. 

             I came out of the cave with the box. 'Ah! it's so heavy!' I shouted and for a second I thought to leave the box there but it's an interesting thing, it attracted me a lot, after a hard struggle with the box I can to my car and put the box inside car. 


              It's a hard day after reaching home, I took a nice bath to revive from the stress, and after that I had my dinner and started examining the box , as I opened it I saw a big beautiful stick with some symbols on it, and the upper part of the stick is like drop of the water in which a beautiful dark blue drop shaped stoned is fixed. And I found a book in the box, I want to read it but the language is ancient language ,I can't read it. 

               leaving the stick in the bedroom I came to the living room ,I placed the book on the table to call my friend Aniv.He have a nice grip on the ancient languages, I called him to know what that book says. 


                I'm waiting for him in the living room seeing the signs on the book. Suddenly the power supply is off and I heard a singing voice .It's a beautiful angelic voice coming from my bedroom. I'm scared to see what it is but have check what is it. 

              As I was about to enter the room the voice has stop and I felt that someone holding my wrist, 'Ahh! leave me' I shouted as I'm scared I cried too. But it's my friend Aniv. Finally he arrived and the rain started . I hugged him tightly because of a thunder. I refused to let go ,cause I was so scared, he patted my shoulder saying 'its alright Astona, I'm here' . I moved from him as power is on. 

                  I was lost in my thoughts as I was thinking about the voice, he asked me where is the book, coming into reality I take him to the living room and showed him the book, as I lost again thinking about his facial features and I hugged him, he started reading the book so deeply.
