I blinked. Kyle stood in the open doorway of my room. "You ready?" he asked.
I stood and smiled. "Yeah, I'm ready." 
We went downstairs and, on our way, out the door Kyle grabbed his car keys. We took turns playing songs we liked on his car radio. While Kyle drove, I found the songs on his music player. We sang along and laughed all the way to Serina's apartment. 
I used my phone to text her that we were outside and within minutes she was rushing out the door to join us. 
"Hey!" she called happily.
I opened the door. "Hey, Serina!" I called back to her. 
Serina jumped into the backseat of the car. 
"Hi. Nice to see you." Kyle told her.
"I am excited to go shopping!" Serina exclaimed. "We are going to have fun!"
I laughed, somehow her enthusiasm was infectious. "I am too." And in my own way, I was.
We talked about the stores we wanted to go to. Serina wanted to go to shoe stores, a make up store and popular clothing retailer, I liked vintage stores, bookstores and one-of-a-kind clothing stores. Kyle liked record and music stores, electronics stores and this one movie store that sold older movies on disc, as well as t-shirts, posters and other movie related stuff.
While we drove, we all chatted away, getting caught up on events in each other's lives. Serina was also taking a year to work to save money and try to decide if she wanted to go to college or university. She had graduated at the same time as Kyle. 
My phone made a noise, letting me know of an incoming text message. I noticed that it was from my instructor, Mike. He wanted to remind me not to forget to pick up a book at the bookstore. Because Mike was a shifter who was very skilled, my mother and father hired him to teach me. There was a more advanced book he wanted me to obtain a copy of, and there was one reserved under his name at the bookstore. 
I thought the bookstore was so cool, because it had a whole back room full of books on white magic, dark magic and shifting. But all I had to do was hand the slip of paper in my pocket to the storeowner, who would put the book on Mike's tab.
"…and stupid Victoria won't stop going on and on about how she found her mate." I heard Serina say as I tuned back into the world around me. 
"She is past the point of being annoying. I am happy for her, and all but…"
"But you also feel jealous? You want your mate too?" Kyle said interrupting her. 
"Yeah." She said with a sigh.
'She sounds so dejected.' I thought. Then a second later, I realized that Kyle had said that she wanted her mate, not that she wanted to find her mate. 'Was there not a difference? Did she know who her mate was? Did Kyle also know about it? Were they keeping something from me? Or was I just overthinking?'
"I am so lucky shifters don't have mates. All that stuff sounds really complicated!" I sighed.
"Very complicated." Kyle agreed. Serina said nothing. We drove the rest of the way in silence.    
It was getting warm in the car and it was making me sleepy, we were only fifteen minutes away, and I was struggling to stay awake. A second later I opened my eyes as the car was parked and Kyle wanted me to get out of the car. 
"Huh?"
"I said that you had better get out of the car. We didn't come all this way for you to sleep in here." Kyle spoke with a wry smile on his lips. 
"Alright. I am coming with you guys." I got out of my seat and we left the parking lot and entered the mall. 
I was equally as bored in the fancy shoe store as I was in the electronics store. But our third stop was for me. It was the bookstore. 
I walked in and saw the bookstore owner, Burt, talking to a customer. I stood facing a nearby shelf. There were many books in this shop I would like to read. I picked up a mystery novel set in the age of the Ottoman Empire. 
'Well, guess this is another for my endless wish list.' I thought wistfully.
I put the book back and walked over to the glass case of older, more valuable books. Even through the thick glass I could smell the distinct scent of old books wafting up from them. To some people it was a gross smell, but to me it was a smell of history and all things ancient. It was a scent so laced with mystery, and secrets, that I found it alluring.
"Sam!" I heard Burt's voice call to me. 
I turned. "Hey, Burt."
"Are you looking for something in particular? Or are you happy just browsing?" He asked with a smile.
"Oh. I don't have a lot of time today. I actually came for a specific item." I reached into my pocket and brought out the small piece of paper. I handed it to him, and he took it from me while adjusting his glasses. 
"Ah, yes. I see." He walked back behind the counter. 
"Mike said I should ask for you to put it on his tab." I said. 
"Of course, I will, he has very good credit here." 
Burt handed me a large, thin hard cover book that looked at least 50 years old. I opened it, to better smell the old book smell, closing my eyes as I took a sniff. When I opened them again, I saw some of the contents of the book. They were advanced shifting techniques for shapeshifters.    
I handed the book back to Burt to wrap in brown paper.
When he finished the transaction, I turned to walk back to the store entrance. Kyle and Serina would be there waiting for me. I saw a man and a woman walk past them, the man stopped and took a look at something on a shelf near the entrance and the woman rushed past me to the counter. 
"Hey, did you get what you needed?" Kyle asked.
I laughed, "Everything I needed and nothing I wanted."
Serina laughed too. "If you got everything you wanted, this store would be out of stock!" 
Kyle joined her in her laughter. 
I heard raised voices coming from the counter at the back of the store. I turned my head towards the noise. Based on their reactions, Kyle and Serina heard it too.   
"You said you would hold the book for me!" the woman's angry voice yelled.
"I told you if you wanted me to reserve the book for you, that you would have to put down a deposit in advance, while you raised the money to pay for it." Burt said patiently. "I follow the same policy for all new customers or those without good credit."
"You are not lying to me, are you?" the woman demanded. "Not hiding the book somewhere in this shop?"
"No, madam. The book was paid for and left the shop earlier today."
I got the gut feeling that something bad was about to go down. 
The woman turned and walked away from the counter and made her way towards her companion. He carefully placed the book back on the shelf, looked at her and then gestured to me with a quick flick of his eyes and the smallest inclining of his head. A smile appeared on her face.

×When I arrived at my class, I had a shock. I had a moment where anxiety hit me like a ton of bricks. There, in the back row was Kyle. I suppressed my first instinct, which was to run out of the room. At this point I was still looking at him, but he hadn't noticed me yet; he was talking to two other guys. 'Maybe if I sit in the front row, and don't turn around all class, then he won't know I am me?' I thought. But, right at that moment, Kyle decided to look up as someone near me called and waved to him.
"Dang!" I whispered under my breath as I turned my head away from him and slipped into the seat in the corner of the room. At least now I was strategically placed; in a desk in the front row closest to the door×

×'Better the devil you know, than the devil you don't.' I thought as I charged up to him. He was, as expected, ready for me. I threw a punch at him, but he blocked it, grabbing my wrist. Before I could do the wrist turn and put the pressure on the weak thumb, with the intention of escaping his grip, he punched me in the stomach with his free hand. The punch landed the right way to knock the wind out of me, and my body crumpled forward and slid to the ground.×

×It was the end of the school day and all I wanted was to be home, in my own room, so I could think. I walked to the edge of the woods and sat beside a tree to rest. I sighed. I needed this moment, alone with nature. As my body relaxed, I realized just how tired and sore I was. The adrenaline was wearing off, and the aftermath of my spikes of high anxiety took its toll. I was physically and mentally exhausted. Gingerly, I reached behind me to see if I could tell, by touch, the extent of bruising on my back. From the feel, I could tell not only would they be an ugly bluish- purple, but that some were still swelling. I knew it might not be as bad as it felt, as I bruised so easily. I counted myself lucky that I healed twice as fast as a human. 'If I had the healing rate of a werewolf, I would be healed by now.' I said to myself. 'Some people get all the luck!' ×

× I smiled to myself as I walked down the main street. It was finally the weekend. Free from school, I decided to see what stores there were. Up ahead, I saw a teen girl exit a nail salon. 'Woah,' I thought. 'She is really good looking.' My thoughts didn't really do her justice. She looked like she just stepped of an airbrushed magazine cover. She had thick, long chestnut colored hair, that suited her heart- shaped face. Though she had long legs like a runway model, her torso was shorter, so she stood a few inches shorter than me; at about average height. As she glanced to both sides of her, I noticed she had the most clear, blue eyes and a perfect button nose, that many women would kill for. She turned and walked away from me. 'She is so beautiful. She reminds me of classical music, famous statues and renowned classic paintings. Is this what the old masters felt when they found their muse?'×

[time-skip-1 week later]-Currently 12th day after his reincarnation.
[General POV]
It was nighttime, dark everywhere except lights from lanterns could be seen in every house. Satoru was in his room executing the Pythagorean memory technique. He was reviewing, How his day was spent,  particularly in what activities and doing what?

[MC POV]
Today after eating breakfast. I didn't do anything nor memorizing or exercise. I thought to give myself a break. If u r under stress, then taking a break from time to time, it really helps. A week ago, I thought about visiting outside. Today I went outside. After breakfast, as usual, my mother and father went to their jobs(here apparently there are no weekly holidays in Konoha, u have to work every day)I wore a black shirt with short pants on. I didn't know any place in Konoha. So I thought might as well roam around randomly. I started with a market, there were stores or tents build on both sides of the road. There were different stores. Plus the market was divided into different divisions, like
i)The book stores
ii)The food stores
iii)The weapon stores
iv)The clothing stores etc(as long as u get d idea)
I specifically went to the weapon store division and book store division. Well in the weapon store division, I could see various weapons from sword to spear, halberd to spade, shuriken to kunai, etc everything. But I was just a kid, I wasn't permitted to touch weapons, forget about buying one(not that he had money anyway). But it is worth mentioning that ninjas were patrolling in every division and marching around. After seeing around quite a bit, I went to the Book division
The book division had fewer people compared to the weapon division. That's normal considering 70% of the people are ninjas. Even though I was a kid, I was allowed to touch books. So I picked up a book and read the title. I was shocked seeing the title. It was none other than the legendary Icha Icha of Jiraiya. After turning some pages over, I kept the book on the shelf of the store. As I was keeping the book, I thought, 'wait for me Icha-chan, I shall be back within 10 years I promise '.
Another matter I should mention is when I was busy visiting the book shops. I seem to hear some whispers about a certain demon. Apparently, that demon was making quite a turmoil. That demon seems to prank around all day. Plus judging by their tone, they seemed to have pure disdain towards that demon.
Well, about the demon though, that's for another day. I shall not think about it for the time being. Next after roaming around a bit I seem to come towards a legendary place. That every otaku if reincarnated in naruto will visit. That's right, "The women's bathhouse". Nah just kidding, "The Ichiraku ramen shop ". But as I enter the very next moment I exit. Because I didn't have money. 
But Teuchi-san saw me and shouted, "wait, kid". I turned back and asked," me???". He with a smirk on his face, "if not then who?". I enter the shop again and he told me to sit. I didn't think about it too much and sat down. He asked, "what's ur name, kid? Didn't saw u around here?". To which I replied, "My name is Satoru Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen". He obviously didn't get what Jujutsu Kaisen means. probably didn't even care about it. He then said giving me a ramen bowl, "Satoru-Kun, eat this before u go". I thought, " I never say no to free food, let's dig in, shall we??", but still politely replied, "I don't have the money". He with a large smile said, "On the house, kid".
After  I ate the ramen. I exited before saying, " I shall come again". As I was exiting I saw the apparent demon everyone was talking about. I laughed in my thoughts, "fate is really unpredictable". I saw him enter the Ichiraku ramen shop with a big smile. Then as I began to walk away I looked back and his back was facing my way. I saw loneliness from him. This time I felt sorry for him.
I could very well and go talk with him. But it might come with certain circumstances. First being in the eye of Anbu guarding him. Second, informing Hokage about me and going through a background check. Third, as Anbu background checks me, I might come in the eye of a certain one-eyed freak. That certainly I don't want.
Well, normally a kid meeting another kid would be nothing special. But he was a Jinchūriki. His normal life goes staying alone and that remains constant every day. If for anyone that changes, Anbu checks that person's background to see if they might be a spy or not.
Visiting the village took me about 3 hours. I reached home at 11:00 am. The rest of the day was spent sleeping around. I did take a full rest. And as night closed in, the rest was the same as usual. After he finished executing the Pythagorean memory technique, he huffed a sigh and mumbled, "huh, It took me 27 minutes to review what happened today".
[MC POV]
Speaking of which my powers upgraded quite a lot in these 7 days. Let's talk about the refining technique.
My single string of energy has upgraded from 8cm to 16cm. After the 4th day, I thought my single string shall increase to about 4cm. But it didn't, rather it increased to 3cm. The very next day it increased to 2cm, then 1.5cm, then 1 cm, then 0.5cm. In total the single string increased to 16cm giving me 4 units of energy. Double of the previous week. Here 2 units of energy belong to the spiritual part and the latter 2 belong to the physical part.

[General POV]
Now consider perceiving the energy around u which is the first condition of refining technique. The amount u perceive ain't necessarily the amount u intake. What I mean is, suppose u perceive 100% energy but u can absorb 50% of that energy, and the rest 50% is dissolved in the air.
Before I start, let's consider,
1st day-4cm string be (base/1st string-1st increment)
2nd day-4cm string be (1st string-2nd increment)
3rd day-3cm string be (1st string-3rd increment)
4th day-2cm string be (1st string-4th increment)
5th day-1.5 cm string be (1st string-5th increment)
6th day-1cm string be (1st string-6th increment)
7th day-0.5cm string be (1st string-7th increment)

I could absorb about 60% of the total energy I perceived. The first string-1st increment probably needed less than that 60% energy (1st string-1st increment < 60% energy)
while the 1st string-2nd increment needed full 60% energy (1st string-2nd increment = 60% energy).
 But the question is if I am absorbing the same 60% energy which helps to create the increments of the first string, why is it that the 1st string-3rd increment(3rd day's 3 cm) or 1st string-4th increment(4th day's 2 cm) in spite taking 60% of the energy gives me 0.7 and 0.3 unit energy respectively.
Here we have to consider the 1st string-1st increment as a base. To increase the  base string from 4cm to 8cm or bigger, I have to perform three things:
I)creating a 0.1 cm newly string
II)connection
III)increase
At first, I create a 0.1cm string. Then the base(4cm string) is connected with this newly created 0.1 cm string. Here the connection needs energy which it takes from the 60% energy I absorbed. After the connection is done, whatever rest amount of energy from the 60% remains is used to increase the length of the 0.1cm string.
In the case of the 1st string-2nd increment, 60% energy could afford to create a 0.1 cm string plus connecting with base and whatever remained could easily increase the amount of that 0.1cm string to 4cm. Due to which I got (4cm+ 4cm)=8cm on the 4th day after my reincarnation.
For the 1st string-3rd increment, I had to connect 0.1cm string with the base first, then the 1st string-2nd increment, and connecting it with the two increments (1st, 2nd) took more of the 60% absorbed energy and whatever was remaining was used to increase the length of the string by 3 cm.
The same is with the rest of the string increment. For the 4th increment I had to connect 0.1cm string with the base first, then the 1st string-2nd increment, then the 3rd increment and again connecting with three increments (1st, 2nd,3rd) took more of the 60% absorbed energy and whatever was remaining was used to increase the length of the string by 2 cm.
Just like that, I could increase my chakra to an amount of 4 units of number.

Cross just came from having breakfast. One apple and some apple juice. He didn't like the diet but he needed to get stronger and it was working slowly. After breakfast, he did some weight lifting, sit-ups, squats, and ran 20 miles. After doing all this training Cross drank some water. Half for now and a half for later. He tossed his bottled water to the side burped. After doing all this he was energized and pumped. He wanted to fight somebody just as strong as him. But things like this didn't come to him all the time. Cross left the flooded hotel he slept in and decided to walk around. The main reason he was outside was that Sarah asked him to get her a book called The Voyage to the Mysterious World of the Dark Sea. She saw it in a shop earlier when she was coming back from getting an oxygen helmet. Cross walked down a flight of rusted stairs coming across dozens of nonvaccanted book stores without the clerks. Cross searched all the stores and didn't find the book. Someone or something must have stolen the book. As he left the last store on the left, someone, a man bumped into him, brushing dirt and blood across his clean fresh clothes. " Hey what it pal!" The man started running. Cross enhanced his vision and saw the book he was looking for. He decided to follow the stranger.

Krystal wanted to laugh so badly but this wasn’t funny at all. What were all the voices sounding in her head? 

“Who are you? Come out!” Krystal called out the empty room. She was not in the mood of any jokes since she was so hungry and weak at the moment. 

She didn’t receive any answer but what happened next freaked the hell out of her. She found herself standing in a place that looked like a mall but it wasn’t the same as the malls she was used to seeing. 

The air and even the whole environment felt very different. When she was busy looking at the different stores facing her, a book fell right in front of her and she picked it up. 

Krystal opened the book and began to read it. She spent an hour reading the book and she got to learn a lot from it. 

According to the book she had just read, this whole place belonged to her and it was called the Tycoon Mall or system. This was like a golden cheat and with this she could go far and no one will trample on her again. 

She felt very elated when she looked at those different stores that were still locked. According to the guide book, all she needed was to earn crystals and the more she earn, the mall will level up. 

The mall had around ten stores that could provide her with everything that she needed. As long as she level the mall up, then there will be no need for her to even bother buying anything outside. She was not a fool, she had a feeling that whatever she will buy from the mall will be of great quality. There was no way someone will try to scam her with something she had never asked of. 

Krystal began to walk around the mall, familiarizing herself with the stores that were there. The mall had the following stores; supermarket which was mainly for groceries, a pharmacy, a bookstore, a clothing boutique, music store, a ranch where she could buy livestock and meat, a mission hall where she could accept missions to earn crystals, a treasury hall where she could buy and sell all rare items, a virtual cooking space where she could get recipes and learn how to cook and finally the pagoda where all her martial artist problems will be solved. 

The whole mall really made her feel at ease. She wasn’t reborn for nothing and that was good. The only problem however was the currency used in the mall, the stores were very expensive and if she doesn’t work hard she will not be able to even buy a single fruit to eat. 

THE MALL CURRENCY 

1 Crystal = 100 gold pieces = 1000 silver pieces = E$1000000 

This really made her head ache so badly, in order to just receive a single crystal she needed a million for that. Luckily she had hide a lot of money and what she needed was for her to just go and retrieve it hoping that no one had found out about it. 

Krystal decided to check some of the stores there were open, she began with the supermarket and there wasn’t anything much yet in the store. She was a bit disappointed but happy at the same time, she couldn’t afford anything even if there were there. 

After looking around for a while she smiled as she saw a basket of fruits on the counter. There was a huge sign stating that the basket was FREE. As someone who was hungry she quickly hugged the basket, picked an apple and began to munch on it as she walked out of the supermarket. 

The apple was so tasty and it was better than any apple she had eaten in her entire lives. She made her way to the pharmacy as she ate her second apple. When she walked into the pharmacy, she found out that there wasn’t anything again just like the supermarket. 

This time she didn’t have to walk around like an idiot but immediately found a jade bottle in one of the shelves. She put her basket on the counter and picked the bottle. There was a label on the bottle and she read that the bottle contained a water pill. This pill was good for strengthening one’s body after cleaning away all the impurities in one’s body. 

Krystal smiled as she read the information regarding the pill. This was something that she really needed. Taking it will surely change her, with this she will get stronger and her body will no longer have to be weak. 

She put the jade bottle into the fruit basket and made her way to the last store that was opened, the mission hall. The hall was small and there was a board on the wall. On the board was MISSIONS written in bold letters and beneath it there was only one mission. 

M1: Change your life and enroll into a good school within one month. 

Rewards: - 5 body nourishing pills 

Krystal looked at the mission and smiled. The mission to her was easy than for the former host. She already knows where she could get some money, she had enough money to last her a lifetime even if she didn’t get to work. 

However for someone who didn’t go to school in her previous life, it had always been her dream to go to school and go to a famous University. Now that she had a dream, she was going to work hard to earn more money. Without money she will not be able to let that wretched family bow to her, she had already promised and she was going to have that wish fulfilled. 

Krystal accepted the mission and left the mall returning to the small room she had booked at the motel. She smiled when she noticed that her goods were still with her. She continued munching on the fruits and she felt that her body was feeling much better than before. 

She remembered the pill she had received from the pharmacy. It was still in the morning so she threw the pill into her mouth. She felt the pill smoothly moved into her body. It didn’t take long before she felt that something was wrong, she quickly rushed to the toilet where she spend an hour relieving herself. It was so stinky that she almost fainted from the stench. 

She went to the shower and stood beneath it. She watched as black substances come out of her body, the water washed them all. This was the longest bath she had ever had. 

After a while she was done, she left the bathroom and picked another outfit among the few that she had in her bag. She felt better after the bath. Krystal checked herself and felt happier. She could feel that her body was different from before, she felt this energy all over her body and she was abit stronger than before. 

She had a feeling that as long as she trains herself then her body will become stronger than before. She wanted to go back to the stage she was previously in her former life and even get stronger than that. 

The world was such a cruel place where the strong preys on the weak. If she remains weak, she was afraid that one day that family of hers might sell her to an older man for some gains. 

Krystal was very adamant on this and the earlier she starts on this the better but everything needed money. She had to go and fetch that money as soon as possible and since it was already late, she had decided to leave the next day. 

Krystal ate the fruits for dinner and left some to eat the next day. She didn’t have any money to spend on meals, the little that she had was enough for transport money and she had to save for now until she gets the money in her hands.

She never imagined her life would come to an abrupt end over of a poisoned 30ml of jelly, but it did, and it was the start of a new one.
M awakened in the body of an abandoned child who had been loathed by everyone and had a criminal record, having been given a new life and a second chance in life.
M got blessed and received a Tycoon System that would lift her to a higher level, enabling her to do things she couldn't in her previous life.

How far will she go in order to accomplish her goals and dreams? Will she be able to protect those that she failed to protect in her past life?

The corners of Su Yu's mouth twitched. He had picked a store that had never made any profits and would soon be shut down. He really had bad luck!
"If you had come in two months, then you may have had another choice, but since you have come now, there is nothing to be done about it. Other outer sanctum disciples came here to gain merit points, but for someone like you, who chose the worst shop, you will probably end up following the steps of the past shopkeepers and lose all of your merit points." The middle-aged guard was quite warm-hearted, and he really felt sorry for Su Yu.
"Senior, many thanks for your guidance. However, since I am already here, then I will just do my best," Su Yu said.
The middle-aged guard laughed. "It's good that you have that attitude. Your identity badge has already been examined, so you can come with me to meet the Deputy General Manager."
He then led Su Yu into the hall of an eight-story building, which was the Deputy General Manager's official workplace. Su Yu had assumed that this building would be empty and that he would meet the Deputy General Manager easily.
He didn't expect that it would be filled with a large number of people of varied ages, who were sitting in it calmly. All of these people were wearing expensive clothes, and they didn't seem like ordinary people.
"Those are all shopkeepers, who are waiting for the Deputy General Manager to receive them. You should look for a place to sit here, then wait patiently," the middle-aged guard said.
Su Yu nodded. There were several places in the hall that were empty, so Su Yu walked towards them. However, the middle-aged guard stopped Su Yu hurriedly.
He then said, "Don't go there. Those places are reserved for the three high-grade stores' shopkeepers. Didn't you notice that no one dared to go over there? A shopkeeper of a low-grade store, like you, better not have any conflicts with them. Otherwise, they will make it difficult for you to make a living in Tianya City."
Su Yu knew that Tianya City's stores were divided into high, middle, and low grades and were classed according to their monthly profits. Stores that had monthly profits that ranged between 300,000 and one million were middle-grade stores, and as for those with profits higher than one million, they were considered high-grade stores.
Any stores with a profit less than 300,000 were all low-grade stores. Su Yu had received a store that was at the bottom of all of the low-grade stores.
"The three shopkeepers are in charge of the demonic beast materials store, a restaurant, and an elixir store. Each one of them has the most prosperous store in his industry, and they all have the right to initiate a meeting at any time."
Su Yu's eyes flickered as he spoke, "Are we obliged to obey all of their orders?"
The middle-aged guard said, "If you don't want any trouble, then you should accept all of their orders, as long as they aren't outrageous."
"Then, what would happen if I refused to obey them?" Su Yu asked.
The middle-aged guard surveyed his surroundings before he replied, "They have a broad network of people, and just a word from them could prevent all of the elixir merchants from selling any elixirs to you. Similar matters have happened many times in the past, so you shouldn't offend them."
"Many thanks senior. I know what should I do now." Su Yu nodded, then looked for another place to sit and wait quietly.
Creak!
At this moment, the door of the side hall opened and three people came out of it. They were two men and a woman, who were all middle-aged and walked in a grand manner. All of the middle-grade shopkeepers looked at them at the same time, without daring to show any disrespectful expressions on their faces.
At that moment, a low voice rang out near Su Yu's ear, "Those are the three great shopkeepers. They talked with the Deputy General Manager for such a long time, so they must have been discussing some important affairs."
"That's most likely the case, as according to the rules, it's once again time for the Desolate Ancient Vicious Forest's sacrifice, and the Deputy General Manager should be worried about whether they will end up losing some profits. After all, according to the rules, we must give a part of our industries in Tianya City to the central prefecture's people," another shopkeeper commented.
"You don't need to speculate about anything, as that's surely the case. This is because the central prefecture won a part of our industries during the past Desolate Ancient Vicious Forest's sacrifices. It then used those industries to expand and strengthen itself, while our Red Blood Palace was greatly affected by our losses, and our elixir industries were suppressed by them heavily. This resulted in the profits of many elixir stores plummeting!" yet another shopkeeper chimed in.
"The monthly profit of the greatest one, the Heavenly Fragrance Elixir Store, went down by thirty percent, almost falling down to the middle-grade store ranks! Take a look at how unsightly the Heavenly Fragrance Elixir Store's shopkeeper's expression is! He must surely have been berated by the Deputy General Manager just now," someone else surmised.
"Hehe, even a person like Shopkeeper Fei is having such a bad day! He is usually the one stirring up trouble and hindering all of the other elixir stores. In fact, many middle-grade elixir stores, which had hopes of becoming high-grade stores, were all stopped by him! But now, he almost got kicked out of the high-grade stores' ranks! It's really disgraceful!" another shopkeeper exclaimed.
"Don't laugh at him, as with his bad temper, there is a great chance that he will start an elixir stores meeting and rob other elixir stores to make up for his losses. In this way, he will be able to keep his store at the high-grade store level," one shopkeeper warned.
When Su Yu heard them discussing these things, he followed their gazes and looked at the middle-aged man, who was walking behind the other two. The expressions on all three of the shopkeepers' faces were unsightly, but his was the worst. In fact, it was downright gloomy.
Su Yu furrowed his brows. It seemed like he had come here at a bad time.
After the three shopkeepers left, the other shopkeepers entered the side hall to meet with the Deputy General Manager. It was only after half a day had passed that Su Yu finally got his turn.
After Su Yu entered the side hall, he saw an aged old man, who was reading an old, worn book. He was concentrating quite hard on it, and he furrowed his brows and wore a pensive look. He was so engrossed in the book that he didn't even notice Su Yu's arrival.
Su Yu took a look at the old book's cover and saw several strange letters on it. He didn't disturb the old man, but just waited quietly. Even after several minutes passed, the Deputy General Manager was still furrowing his brows, while pondering over something intensely. It seemed like he was puzzled by something that he was incapable of understanding.
Su Yu felt like continuing to wait for much longer here wasn't an acceptable solution, so he finally said, "I'm an outer sanctum disciple, Su Yuxian, and I'm sorry for disturbing you while you are studying the Wood Clan's Mysterious Spirit Nine Transformations Canon."
The Deputy General Manager was quite displeased at being interrupted, and he let go of the book and looked at Su Yu coldly. Then, he suddenly realized something and his eyes lit up.
He quickly asked, "Can you please repeat what you just said?"
Su Yu replied calmly, "Deputy General Manager, I said that you are reading the Wood Clan's Mysterious Spirit Nine Transformations Canon."
Swoosh!
The Deputy General Manager stood up suddenly and asked in amazement, "Do you know the Wood Clan's language?"
Su Yu replied calmly, without being intimidated by him, "When I was young, I found a torn book in a cave, and there were some of the Wood Clan's characters recorded in it. That was how I got some knowledge about it."
This was obviously just a made up story, as Su Yu had studied the Wood Clan's language that was present in Yun Yazi's research. The Wood Clan was a powerful species of Spirit Wood, and such clan members possessed an unborn Plant Spirit Body and had high intelligences. They also made their own language, which was the Wood Clan's language.
The Deputy General Manager passed by the table and sized up Su Yu, while clicking his tongue in wonder. "My Red Blood Palace unexpectedly has a junior who knows the Wood Clan's language. I really didn't expect this!"
"How many characters do you know?" The Deputy General Manager then asked Su Yu curiously.
Su Yu replied modestly, "I have a basic knowledge of several of them."
The Deputy General Manager's eyes flickered slightly. "Fine, then do you know what this sentence means?"
He immediately opened the Mysterious Spirit Nine Transformations Canon and pointed to a sentence on one of its pages. Su Yu took a look at it and replied instantly, "Taking its essence and revealing heavenly essence's mysterious image... And scattering the blue mist..."
"Stop there." Shock appeared in the Deputy General Manager's eyes as he examined Su Yu as if he was sizing up a precious treasure.
His eyes became full of expectation as he flipped over to another page and asked, "And… What about this sentence?"
Su Yu spoke calmly after he took a look at it, "The blue silkworm came out of its cocoon and turned into a butterfly. It was reborn after shedding its mortal shell, and then it turned into a fairy. Horned snakes turned into flood dragons..."
"Enough!" The Deputy General Manager closed the canon excitedly, while his face became filled with excitement as he looked at Su Yu with a shining gaze. He examined Su Yu for a long while before he laughed heartily and said, "Hahaha, I really didn't expect that the Wood Clan's language expert I've been looking for was unexpectedly in the Red Blood Palace!"
It seemed like he was in a good mood now.
"What's your name?" the Deputy General Manager came over to him and asked him enthusiastically.
Su Yu cupped his fists at him and replied, "I'm an outer sanctum disciple. My name is Su Yuxian. Greetings, Deputy General Manager."
"Su Yuxian..." the Deputy General Manager muttered his name, but didn't have any impression of it. "Fine, since you are proficient in the Wood Clan's language, then you fit my standards. I have a great affair that you must participate in."
Su Yu furrowed his brows and wondered... Will it be some troublesome matter?
"Haha, be at ease, as this matter is related to our Eighteen Blessed and Heavenly Lands' profits in Tianya City's partition. In fact, billions of crystals are at stake! Since you are proficient in the Wood Clan's language, then you will have an extremely important role, and once you have made a great contribution, you will get benefits that will surpass your expectations!" the Deputy General Manager explained.
Su Yu was quiet for a moment. He then decided that, if what he was saying was true, he didn't really need to reject him. So, Su Yu responded, "Since it's an affair of the Red Blood Palace, then I will surely do my best."
The Deputy General Manager was quite delighted to hear this. "There has been so much bad news in the past few days, so it is good that there is finally something delightful to be excited about!"
He then asked, "What did you say just a moment ago? Did you come here to take the Tonglin Store's mission? If so, you can stay in Tianya City for just this month first, then I will take you to that place after a month to showcase your skills."
The Deputy General Manager took the broken wooden fish in Su Yu's hand before throwing two badges from his sleeves. One of them had 'Tonglin Store' written on it, and it was his certificate as its shopkeeper, while the other had 'General Manager' written on it, and that badge was emitting an ice-cold aura.
"Deputy General Manager, what is this?" Su Yu was referring to the badge that had "General Manager" on it.
The Deputy General Manager chuckled. "It's the Deputy General Manager's identity badge. If you have any troubles in Tianya City, then you just need to show this badge to Tianya City's industry people, and they will all obey your orders."
He then added, "This badge is just a precaution to protect you from any dangers. It's only to be used to ensure your safety, so you shouldn't use it at will or bother our industries' people with it."
Su Yu was delighted, as he could take care of any matters quite easily with this badge in his hands!

Chapter 5- Capital

Elise who is tired from the work and lesson sleep soundly in the carriage. She just woke up after the carriage stop to the capital. Mr. John the driver salute to Elise as he parked the carriage after sending them. They went to the cityhall first. The city hall in the Empire is full of people. Martha manage the errand and went inside while Alicia and Elise stayed infront of sweets cake store.The capital is full packed of people. Novels and commoners are in the streets. Some young ladies are happily having their teas. Elise is enchanted. She's like in Alice in wonderland where Alice visit a new world. 

There's a lot of street foods  Elise wanted to try the food that looks yummy. She have her money saves for emergencies but She can just save again. There are lots of food she can recognise and not recognise. The mostly common street food is cotton candy with different colors. Elise didn't like it because she already tasted it in her world. She is interested in more like bread and meat. 

Elise counts her money. only a hundred dice. For a commoner prespective it's alot. Elise with this much of money just to buy food in the street also for books if they happens to see a book store.  Elise is excited to check the capital stores. 

Alicia is quiet but I can see that she is delighted to spend her day here in the capital. Elise think carefully. Alicia is a novel from the country side. Maybe its her first time here too. 

"Alicia, Can I just check the book store out there?" Elise said as she point out the store two shops away from them. 

"Why? Are you needing something?" Alicia asked while being worried. 

The two girls decided to wait at the sweet shop because Martha is surely taking her time. 

"I just want to see if they have pretty cover books just like in the libraby at the orphanage." Elise said and smile at Alicia. 

"You-"  Alicia whisper...

The air has gotten chilly suddenly. 

"You can read and write right?" Alicia asked as she stare at Elise in the eyes

Elise is taken a back. She stared codly at the future Saint. She did not understand why but for a moment She is known. Elise is aware about Alicia's sharpness. She is still eight years old but she can tell and observe things on her surroundings. A truly powerful girl Elise thought. 

"Hmmm," Elise close her eyes and open it again. The brightness is gone but a cold stare. Even Alicia feel the chills  run true her body and she can't breathe by the pressure just by staring back to Elise. 

Alicia got scared. She tremble and close her hands. She is so uncomfortable that She didn't understand why Elise release energy that felt like she's drowning. 

"I'm s-sorry."  Alicia whispered as she can't breathe normally.

Elise blink and got the shocked. She didn't know what happened for a moment. She just panicked and think if it's okay to tell Alicia about the future. She got focused that she space out. Suddenly a warm energy surrounds them. Alicia cough and the color of her eyes become more lighter and brighter. 

What the heck just happened? Elise thought. 

After a moment Alicia is normal now. She isn't glowing anymore and her eyes came back to the brown eyes. Alicia in her thoughts think that there's weird happened to her body. It became warm and for a second she can see different colors from people and things. Alicia is confused. 

After a minute, Martha found them. She have the purple letter in her hand. Alicia and Elise are both quiet and didnt bother to continue their conversation. They are both confused about the weird things they felt. 

Capital is clearly a lively place. There's alot of foods and stores. A big fountain is found at the center with big sculpture dove like bird that spreads its big wings. 

Elise know that this is like in the Crest of the Emperor. A dove like bird that symbol of Emperial Family. It only says that this land and this country of the Great Emperor. 

Martha who is in hurry drag both Alicia and Elise to the stores. They manage to buy supplies quickly than Elise thought. Martha is sure good at her job. Elise observed everything and memorise it in her head. Now the only thing that they will do is to eat lunch then comeback to the orphanage. 

Elise planned to check out the bookstore that's why she told Martha to just meet them at the restaurant. Alicia didn't let Elise to go alone that's why they both went to the book store after convincing Martha that they will just back quickly. 

Elisen is astonished as Alicia. They both love reading thats why the moment they go inside, Bright eyes shine like the stars is evident in their faces. 

Elise and Alicia separated after entering the store. Alicia went for book of Saints while Elise went to the book for Magics and Maricians. 

Elise is small so she can't reach the book from the shelves. She is annoyed but can't do anything about it. She tried the stairs. 

Upon getting the book, She went to the tiltle: Controlling Mana. Elise thinks that if she read this book, she will be able to see the weakness of magicians. Elise needed to find how to decrease a mana and increase it in vice versa.  She needed it for that psychopath.

Elise is determined to buy the book but unfortunately drop the book because its unexpectedly heavy. Elise thin arm can't handle the burden and drop the book. 

Elise is annoyed as she go down the stairs. She wanted to blame her thin and small arm but she can't do something because she's still seven years old. 

After she's back in the land. she carefully picked up the book but suddenly it moved far away from her. she sees a yellow glow like a rope coming behind her. Elise is stratle from suddenly witnessing magic 

"Are you going to read this book?" Asked from the voice behind her. 

"Yes." Elise answer the unknown man. Elise out of being annoyed face the voice in  her back. 

Elise see the boy who she think age of eleven years old with the a smirk on his face. The boy have a brown hair and gray eyes. What an absurd combination Elise thought.The boy is a novel with an arrogant personality its evidence. 

Elise knows that the boy is looking for trouble that's why Elise decided to just not buy the book. 

"Are you a scholar?"  The boy asked Elise.

Scholar is a term for gentleman studying magic and become magician. A genius gifted people that are respected in the Empire.

"Oh I'm just kidding. I can't read, I just pick up the best cover among them." Elise said to the boy wearing her like a puppy face. 

"hmmmm, how naive of you."  Said the boy that is now glaring at her. 

"I-I'm s-sorry." Elise who wanted to go back quickly apologize to the boy. 

She didn't let him say anything more and just run away. 

After Meeting Alicia in the cashier. They both leave the book store.

Elise is an unemployed woman from the modern world and she transmigrated to the book "The Lazy Lucky Princess." She hated the book because of its cliché plot and the unexpected dark past of the protagonist-Alicia, an orphan who eventually became the Saint of the Empire. Alicia is a lost noble but because of her kind and intelligent nature the people naturally love and praise her including Elise.

When Elise wakes up in the body of the child and realizes that she was reincarnated to the book she lazily read, she struggles on how to survive in the other world and somehow meets the characters and be acquainted with them. She tried to change the flow of the story but the events became more dangerous and Elise was reminded why she hated the original plot.

Then Alicia reaches her fifteen birthday. The unexpected things happened when Elise was bleeding in the same spot Alicia had her wound. Elise also has the golden light just like the divine power of the Saint.

"You've gotta be kidding me!"

After finishes  their short discussion Reima turns his gaze to the piles of books stacked high on one side of the room, he approaches and almost falls over into the shallow water as he picks up whatever he'd just kicked... It's a mask, the one Pinwheel was wearing that depicted the father, in the game it raises the amount of weight you can carry when worn but... Reima is hesitant to touch something that was in-contact with Pinwheels deformed body, instead he stores it away, maybe he can melt it down and make a lamp or something?

He walks over to the table Pinwheel was working on and finds a skeleton that has an ominous black glow around it, looking around for a clue as to what this actually is he sees an open book next to the skeleton depicting a ritual that'll give a semblance of life to an inanimate object, or most commonly used, a corpse. He looks at the books title and sees that it's called "Necromancy, not just for perverts."... Either this is a joke or Necromancers have a serious PR problem. He stores the book away after jabbing the skeleton with his divinely enchanted sword and starts looking through the rest of the books. Most seem to relate to reviving a deceased person and theories on how to permanently bring them back, he skims through some of the book titles, "Soul storage", "The Dark Sign, is it worth it?", "Moddling your homunculus how YOU want."... Reima looks at another book titled "Is it immoral to make love to the dead?" before he finally loses his patience, he stores them all into his Folded Space before angrily kicking the table over, "What is wrong with these people!".
Solaire had stopped helping him look through them the moment Necromancy was mentioned, he had however heard Reima muttering the titles of the books as he skimmed past them. He didn't know whether to be horrified or amused at the casual titles of books teaching dark magic.

Reima "I'll look through them later, when I can stomach looking through the more... Egregious ones." Solaire just nods as he walks around the room trying to find an exit, he starts getting frustrated but he eventually finds a ladder that seems to be hidden in the wall. They climb up it and are immediately engulfed in darkness, Solaire tries to light a torch but the dark seems to form hands before enveloping the flame and snuffing it out.
Solaire "I hope you've got something for this... Fighting unknown enemies in the dark is not my preferred method."
Reima nods and casts an overpowered light spell that illuminates the surroundings, the darkness tries to snuff it out but as soon as it comes close it's burned away. This isn't all good news however as while they can see their enemies now, they can also be seen in return. They look around the huge underground cavern and spot Giant skeletons wielding large weapons, some upright while others on all fours, acting like animals despite their humanoid appearance. The duo is wary of fighting these Giant skeletons due to the paths being very narrow and being the only thing stopping them from falling into the bottomless abyss below. 
Reima "Take this for now, hopefully we aren't flung off of these platforms." he says as he hands Solaire Havel's shield, the Silver SunBro takes it and immediately feels the weight of it. Despite being quite strong himself he has to sheath his sword and hold the shield up with both hands.
Solaire "Are you sure this is necessary?" he asks hoping to be given the Crystal shield back.
Reima "It's this or hoping these giant skeletons aren't strong enough to just pick us up and throw us." he says blankly. Solaire sighs and reluctantly nods before starting to walk forwards towards the first Giant skeleton that's wielding a huge scimitar, no doubt courtesy of Vamos. It sprints it them disregarding its own safety on the narrow naturally forming stone bridge and tries to crush Solaire with it's weapon. The man in question gives a small shout and hefts the "Dragon Scale" shield up to block the strike, Solaire expects to be knocked away by the powerful looking swing but is confused when he feels something akin to a light punch instead... He peeks over the large shield and sees that the Giant skeleton's strike seems to have been deflected, so well in-fact that's on the verge of losing it's balance and flying off into the abyss below. He doesn't wait for Reima to do anything and slams Havel's shield into the Giant hip, causing it to finally fall off, Solaire nods in satisfaction. "It seems you were right my friend, although this shield reminds me of someone..."
Reima just pats him on the shoulder, "No time to dally, we've still got... 76 more Giants to kill." he says after doing a quick head-count on the visible enemies. Hearing the number Solaire almost loses his own balance, "Seventy six! Are you sure?" he says trying to concentrate his vision at the dimly lit targets.
Reima shrugs, "At minimum" this short statement causes Solaire's shoulders to slump, while he does love combat this is more akin to a weighted exercise routine, less a rush of adrenaline and more anxiety about plummeting to his death.

Most people who die and are confronted with a godlike being like to take the easy route... Not this guy.

I have been sitting on this concept for a while and want to see if I can write it, starting with the Witcher then the game Absolver and then onto Darksouls 1. 

Don't rely on there being consistent updates because its unlikely...

Having a feeling that he was right, Hadrian decided to close his status pages and start to go out and scout more of Dungeon out. Hoping to also create more safe houses in the commercial district of the town or as he found out from the book about the history of the town, the merchant quarter.
Getting up from his seat near the Gate, he leaves the surrounding field and enters the town via the closest road. He starts to scout each of the first stores of the road, one being a stable the other being a building what he found out to be a small guard tower.
In the stable he found was pretty empty, only two rooms to search. A small storage that was completely useless only some horse care products and other horse related items basically completely useless to Hadrian, the other room was a small apartment probably belonging to the owner or worker at stables, it was pretty trashed and everything was either perished or destroyed nothing worth taking. 

The guard tower was a completely different story though, it's doors still closed tight protecting whatever inside and also allowing him to turn it into his second safe house. Searching the tower he found a lot of useful things, the armory was basically fully stocked, the guard's armor and weapons still in place. The kitchens fully stocked, granted a large amount of the food was perished, but he still found a lot of good food, he gathered every thing useful he could find and started to secure the tower, turning it into his new safe house.
As he continued up the road he searched through more and more stores, most were either empty, destroyed or full of useless items. He entered many stores not really gaining much, his luck not really coming through for him.
As he reached the blacksmiths he was able to find three useful stores, in a tailor's shop he picked up a few different items of clothing and was able to find a lockbox. He found a small personal library in the house above a butchers shop grabbing all the useful and expensive looking books, hoping to continue his Lucy streak he has been having with books.

The last store was a jeweller basically grabbing everything that was shiny, he was going to properly identify them when he was back at the safe zone. After giving the blacksmiths a quick check to make sure everything was still secure, he heads to the crossroads thanks to the history book he read he knows this was one of eight large crossroads of the town.
He carries on walking straight hoping to reach the center of the town, at the center was the mayor's mansion and what he thought was probably the location of the First Floor Boss. He sneaks through the town wanting to scout out the location hoping to find any information he can.
As he got closer to the center, he could start to make out something in the distance. The closer and closer he got the more he could make out what it was.
It was a wall a white bone, he wondered why he didn't see any skeletons on his way here, thinking it was strange that he didn't see even one.
He now knows why, the skeletons were locked together to form a giant wall surrounding what was probably the mayor's mansion and quite a few buildings surrounding it.
