[A/N: Another rewrite, this time I'm certainly sticking to it.]

Jiro Oshima can be seen cutting through armor and flesh like butter with his legendary sword, dodging every attack that comes his way before he was the only one alive, standing over many bloody piles of bodies. His muscular body was covered with the blood of many and there wasn't a drop of blood that belonged to him. Returning home from the massacre, Jiro was welcomed by twelve beautiful women before they kept him awake for the whole night.

However, Jiro's fun was cut short as he woke up on his bed with an erection. Looking around the room's walls that were covered with hentai posters and the countless piles of empty cup noodles. Finding no beauty insight, except for the ones on the posters, Jiro sighed before getting ready for an ordinary day as a senior in high school.

He didn't bother fixing his messy hair as he washed his average-looking face a few times to get himself to wake up, knowing that he shouldn't have stayed up for so long reading that cultivation novel. It wasn't worth it because of how impulsive the main character was. Jiro auto-piloted his daily routine, not bothering to eat breakfast today as well. He left his one-room apartment and walked to school with his usual indifferent as ever eyes, scaring people that walked by him, mostly because of how much he looked like a delinquent.

Jiro knew his life was miserable but didn't plan on ending it all since he couldn't imagine himself not being alive. Additionally, it was stupidly impulsive and that's what he hated the most, impulsive people.

It was a coincidence that he looked to his left to see a girl, who's legs were shaking as she looked at an approaching truck with fear. Time had slowed down enough for Jiro to make a decision whether or not to save her. Additionally, Jiro even recognized the girl, she was very popular in his school and had a way brighter future than him.

Jiro continued to look at her with his emotionless eyes. A small part of him wanted to try to save her, giving meaning to his life, but he just stood there doing nothing. He wasn't paralyzed by fear. No, not in the least, Jiro wasn't impulsive and knew that he would be in the right not to do anything. Again, he wasn't suicidal and couldn't imagine himself not being alive, so trading his own life for another person was out of the question for him.

However, time had also slowed down for the unmanned truck, and it chose to swerve into the mean-looking delinquent instead of the beautiful girl. 

{Extra Info: With that, the truck's assignment for this world was accomplished before it traveled into another world, identical to this one, to look for another heroic highschooler to run over and reincarnate.}

'Huh,' Jiro thought, feeling surprised but his eyes betrayed his emotions, not widening in the least, as he observed the truck swerve into him.

'That was less painful than I expected' He thought, thinking the pain he felt was awfully similar to when he stubbed his toe.

Shortly after, in the dark void that he was now floating in, Jiro saw a big book floating in front of him. He opened the book only to be instantly immersed in the story being told.

The book took him a while to finish before he was devastated to see the book not having an ending. To be honest, it seemed more like the introduction to a light novel than a book, since it took place inside a cultivation world, but still deserved the right to be called a book due to the sheer amount of detail and imagery that the book contained. The book would've been better if its main character didn't have the mind of a child, but it was a good read nonetheless.

After recovering from the shock of the book finishing without an actual ending, Jiro was greeted by a screen that reminded him of those video games he would play, before switching his hobby to reading light novels instead.

Jiro frowned at the text on the screen but still reluctantly wrote a half-assed summary of the book so he could get his hands on a System to make life much easier. Furthermore, he was delighted to see that he was going to reincarnate instead of his consciousness just disappearing or worse, spending an eternity in this void.

Anyways, his worst subject was English and he would usually write a terrible summary but he felt content with his summary, for the first time in his life, before pressing "Confirm" below the box that was filled with text containing countless spelling mistakes and punctuation errors. And yes, he had to use an on-screen keyboard...

"Hm?" Jiro said, not understanding what it meant by the second half of the sentence.

[Jiro's Summary: The story tells the life of a kid, named Feng Ru, whose mother dies while giving birth to him and father, who got beheaded for offending a noble's spoiled dumbass son. Feng Ru has a sweet sister, named Feng Yingtai who's also two years older than him, and she takes care of him. Once she had awakened a high ranked Inner Qi, at the age of 12, she met a woman who turned out to be an outer-court elder at the local sect. Feng Yingtai entered the sect with a condition that her low-talent brother, Feng Ru, can join too. The woman agreed, knowing that Feng Ru would get kicked out for his low-talent after not meeting the cultivation base criteria in a few years, and figured that it would serve the purpose of de-sensitizing the girl for the real world. Then, Feng Yingtai trains with her new teacher for 4 years, missing his brother while Feng Ru often gets beaten up and treated terribly by his peers for 4 years, but still gives it his all to live up to the being the younger brother of Feng Yingtai.]

His eyes, that had long gotten used to the dark, was blinded by the bright light but after his eyes had adjusted, Jiro was shocked to see that the room, he was standing in, looked identical to how he had imagined Feng Ru's outer-court room looked like, using the book's godly imagery.

Luis and Serion headed towards where the second examination is taking place.

They approached the place and saw a girl sitting lazily on the chair.

"I am the person in charge of the second exam bla bla, and you should enter the Mysterious Archive and you know the rest, now go!" The girl explained lazily as she waved her hand gesturing them to leave.

Serion just shrugged and entered the door towards the Mysterious Archive. Luis followed and entered the room. He saw a lot of shelves with books that have a dim glow. It felt so magical like the ones he saw in the movies he used to watch while he was still on Earth.

"Let's meet up at that place after an hour, we will separate ways from here. What you need to do is find a book and try to understand what it means, and write a summary of it." Serion explained.

"Okay understood! Find a book, comprehend it, write a summary of it, and go to that place." Luis repeated as he nodded his head.

Serion heads to one of the isles to the right while Luis wandered around. While wandering, he saw a staircase leading to the next floor. He climbed up the stair and saw that the books here glowed brighter than the ones on the first floor. One can see the pedestals arranged at each end of the isles. On top of each pedestal, there's a book lying quietly, and all of them glowed brightly.

A single book on a pedestal caught Luis's attention. It is the only book that doesn't glow and looks very ordinary. When he looked at it, he got the feeling that the book is calling for him urging him to come closer and touch the book.

As if his body was out of his control. Luis approached the pedestal and took a closer look at the book as his hands slowly reached out for it.

The moment his skin touched the book, it glowed and floated up. The cover of the book burned as it changed from an ordinary tattered cover into a pitch-black one with red writings on it. The book emitted a terrifying aura that one might feel that they will melt if they were exposed to this aura for too long.

Luis was enveloped by the black with a tinge of red aura that carries a very strong killing intent.

He appeared in a place where an event is happening. Everything looked so dark and the moon has a red hue as it was refracted to the dark clouds that make a person feel eerie and terrified.

Piles of bodies can be seen as a fight that was still going on added another dead body.

"Life and death is a cycle that every being must experience. From the plants to animals and then humans. Even gods and goddesses aren't an exception. Unless one can control life and death itself eternal life can't be claimed." A voice rang out inside Luis's mind.

"Who are you?" Luis exclaimed as his body shuddered from the eerie and gloomy air that the place brought.

"Only a child who has the power to destroy and create the balance of the world can see what will happen when the world is full of deaths." The voice continued as the scenery changed from the bloody place into a barren place.

The scenes changed into different events. People starved to death, a pandemic claimed the life of a lot of people, plants and trees withered as animal corpses can be seen anywhere. The sea and oceans don't have the once blue hue of it but instead, it has the dark red color that almost looked like black. Everything is a mess and nothing good can be seen from these events. If a normal person is to see these, they will be depressed and at the same time can't take their life even if they want to. The torture of wanting to die but can't, it might make them insane.

"The fate of the world lies on the one who holds the scale of the balance of the world. Child of fate, you claimed the weight for the scale of death." The voice from his head echoed as the surroundings twisted and he saw himself standing at the front of the pedestal where he saw the book. 

The book regained its former form which is an old tattered book. Luis wrote down everything that he comprehended from what the voice that rang on his head said.

While that event happened, Mufar ran towards the area where the second examination is taking place.

"Analou! Who entered the archive last?" Mufar anxiously asked.

"Sir Mufar! The last who entered are Menazee and his friend and Arion entered before they did." Analou responded as her lazy expression can't be seen on her face anymore.

"The archive alarm rang on my office! Did you tell them to not go into the second floor?" Mufar shouted anxiously and the girl immediately became teary-eyed as her fear surfaced from her heart.

"Sorry, sir Mufar! I didn't tell them what they need to know because I heard that you briefed them earlier." Analou cried.

"You know that we had an incident a long time ago where a student touched the book of Fire Origin and then ended in tragedy, right? He and his family were cursed that if they didn't find the fire maiden, their whole clan will be turned into ashes. They failed so a hundred and more lives were taken away!" Mufar explained anxiously.

"I'm sorry sir Mufar, I'm sorry!" Analou cried and kept on apologizing.

"There's no need to apologize. What we need to do is stop that student from endangering their lives!" Mufar exclaimed as he touched the door handle and tried to open the door but no matter what he does, it won't open.

"Why isn't this door opening?" Mufar looked back to Analou.

"Probably they were using the Comprehension Array, that's why it won't open.

A moment later, a loud explosion rang from inside the room as the door clicked and opened by itself.

" Sir Mufar! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to... It was just... I just... And then... It exploded and then... I don't know what happened!" Luis ran towards Mufar panicking and trying to explain everything but his panic only made him stutter.

"That dweeb destroyed the Comprehension Array! Good thing that I submitted my work first before he did." A beefy guy mocked when he exited the room. He is the guy who entered the office of the Dean together with Serion.

"Achi! Don't be rude! He didn't mean what happened inside!" Serion defended.

"Yah right! As if I didn't know that he almost destroyed the Magic Circle on the first examination. He must have the Legacy of the God of Destruction!" Achilleas scoffed and harrumphed.

"We can fix that later but I want to ask, who entered the second floor and touched a book there?" Mufar asked as he looked towards the three.

A hand slowly raised as if he was afraid to raise it high and this hand belongs to Luis.

"What happened? Are you hurt? Are you cursed?" Mufar anxiously asked.

"Uhm... I think I'm not cursed? Why did you ask? Did something happen?" Luis responded confusingly as he looked back and forth to all of the people around him.

"Thank goodness! What happened inside?" Mufar calmed himself and asked.

Luis explained everything from when he entered the second floor to the book he read and the destruction of the Comprehension Array when he passed his summary.

"Sir Mufar, the Comprehension Array was overloaded that's why it exploded." A guy reported to Mufar after they examined the array.

"What book on the second floor did you comprehend?" Mufar asked calmly that one can't feel the once anxious tone he has.

"I didn't read the title but it's a tattered one on a pedestal. Come! I will show you." Luis answered and gestured for Mufar to follow him.

They reached the second floor and the pedestal where the book was, but when they looked at the pedestal, the book was long gone.

"I promise that I returned the book here! I swear! I returned it before I wrote my summary!" Luis explained in a panic.

"You mean it's gone when you finished comprehending it?" Mufar asked.

"No! It was there before I started writing my summary then I go to the array and then it exploded and then this happened." Luis was still in panic when he's explaining.

"Hmm... Interesting..." Mufar pondered.

"Am I disqualified?" Luis asked as sadness surfaced from his face.

"No, you are not disqualified. I, personally announce that you three passed the second exam. Now go to the third exam!" Mufar announced and instructed them to advance towards the next exam.

"It overloaded? Interesting, but luckily he only touched the trashy book. I even don't know where that book came from nor why did the dean placed it on a pedestal?" Mufar pondered as he returned to his office.

"A news came that someone already comprehended the Book of Chaos. Find that person immediately and bring me back every piece of information that I need!" A man wearing a black robe with red linings and eye patterns commanded.

"Yes, young master! I will depart immediately!" A man wearing a black overall with a black mask agreed. This man is covered in black that one might have difficulties seeing him in a dark or shadowy place.

"Now, I shall wait for the return of the Book of Chaos, and once again, Chaos will rule over this world!" The man in a black robe exclaimed while laughing like a maniac.

The man in all black immediately departed with an incomprehensible speed as he heads towards a certain direction. A direction towards a certain place, Divine Prophecy Academy.

The Child of Fate was lost at the end of the war. Gods were in turmoil and impending doom was waiting for them. Only the Child of Fate who held the balance of the World could save them from their fate.

Luis, the young man who came from the Forsaken World of the Gods, went on an adventure to look for the clues of his identity and to find out what was his role in this new world he had been in.

Would he be able to find the truth that he was seeking for his whole life? What change would he bring to the tragic fate of the Gods?

~THE NEXT DAY~WEDNESDAY~ 

The day of the competition had finally arrived and everyone was getting ready to beat their opponents… except Maya and Noelle. 

The year was bad as it is, and now they had to deal with two people who couldn’t stand each other! 

Why does this world hate me so?! 

Noelle had woken up, and before going to school, decided to remove all her belongings from downstairs and lock them up in the room. She knew that even though the principal told them to respect their privacy, Chantelle and Cara surely wouldn’t. 

Maya did the same to hers and headed off to class with Liam. 

Noelle made herself a simple breakfast and was off to class. She didn’t expect what she saw, Noah and Jason waiting for her outside! 

“What are you doing here?!” Noelle asked skeptically. She had told them both over and over that if they wanted to wait for her at least they should come inside. 

“Well I wanted to see you off but met Noah here,” Jason said glaring at Noah. Noah glared right back at him. 

“Hold on!” Noelle yelled. “Don’t you start this in front of me! Let’s just go together, in harmony. Please?” 

“Alright but don’t get too close with him,” Jason said. 

Noelle grabbed them both by their hands and intertwined hers with them. She started walking happily as if nothing was happening at that particular moment. 

As history would have it, people were staring at her like she had gone crazy. She paid no mind to the looks people gave her, and continued walking. 

At Jason’s stop, she leaned up and gave him a kiss, then continued to her class with Noah. 

“Why do you always want to void as meeting each other,” Noah asked out of the blue. He had noticed that Noelle did everything in her power to keep them from each other. 

“Yeah, I don’t want you to fight each other just because of me. But no matter how hard I try you end up seeing each other. It’s like you were married in your past lives,” Noelle said. 

“Let’s go before you suggest something stupid… Ma’am,” Noah said dragging her to the class. 

Well, this is awkward. 

Noelle entered the class but strangely enough, no one was staring at her. 

Guess they got used to me coming with Noah all the time. 

She took her seat and Noah joined her. Like their daily routine, they took the books and started reading them before the professor came in. 

However, today they were not as lucky. She came in to see Noelle and Noah pre-occupied with their reading so much that they didn’t notice her coming in. 

“Noah and Noelle put the books down,” She yelled. 

But they were too engrossed in the book that they didn’t hear her. She walked towards them and pulled the book out of their hands. 

“Do not read any other book in my class,” She said angrily. She had caught Noelle and Noah reading in her class many times, and she had had just about enough of it. 

“Because you’re so engrossed in this book than my class, how about you give us a summary about your interesting book,” She yelled. 

Noelle and Noah got up from their seats and went in front of the class. They were more than prepared for their summary because they spent the whole time reading it. 

Noah had finished his summary without any flaws and went to sit down. 

Just to shame and annoy her, Noelle started her summary from the start of the story to the end, not missing any details. She continued on and on about how the book was the most interesting thing she had read. 

“It’s ok Noelle you have said enough,” The professor said. “You can go sit down,” 

“But I was just going to the best part,” Noelle said pouting. 

“Please no more go sit down,” She said. 

Noelle then gave up, walking to her seat. She had a smirk playing at the corner of her lips. Noah was trying his best to contain his laugh and he did. He knew Noelle was doing that on purpose. 

“What’s so funny, butler?” Noelle asked smiling. 

“Well you are, and Ms. Winter,” Noah said. 

The lesson ended, and Noelle and Noah went up to meet with the rest of the team, to discuss their plan for defeating their opponents. 

“Hey Elle,” Jason said kissing her. 

“Hey babe, how is my petty boyfriend?” Noelle asked. She wanted to annoy Jason that very moment. 

“Well fine I guess,” Jason replied pouting. 

They all took their seats and bought their food. They started telling each other who their opponents were and how they were going to annoy them. 

“Well, you are all lucky our opponents are the C enemies. I still can’t believe they are dorm mates,” Noelle said. 

“Lucky, you’ve got to be kidding me, mine is Noah right here. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t mind annoying him but he’s now part of us,” Jason exclaimed. 

“Oh, that’s bad,” Noelle said. “At least I get to see you one of you lose,” 

They all started laughing except the ones in question… Noah and Jason. They were not in the least amused that their friends were laughing at them. 

“This is not funny guys,” Jason yelled. He took Noah by the hand and walked away to the library. 

“Well since we are friends now, we’ll just sit this one out, and let our other roommates handle it,” Jason said. 

“It’s a terrific idea!” Noah exclaimed. “And since we are going to be seeing each other more often, we might as well learn a thing or two from the other,” 

“Boo!” Noelle yelled. 

Noah was the only one who shrieked, Jason had gotten used to Noelle so much that it didn’t even faze him. 

Hmm, guess the horror movies worked. 

“You’re a spoilsport J,” Noelle said. 

“Well guess I got used to you and the horror movie references,” Jason added. 

“Are you trying to kill me,” Noah exclaimed putting his hands on his chest. He wasn’t that good with horror and everything related to it. 

“Hmm maybe I was, maybe I wasn’t you’ll never know,” Noelle said in a scary voice. 

She took Jason’s hands in hers and started walking away, with Noah right behind them. 

Maya and Noelle braced themselves for the worst since the day had ended and it was time to start the game. 

When she came in Chantelle and Cara had already settled in their rooms and locked themselves inside. There was a huge button in the middle of the room. 

Guess that’s what to push when you’re overly annoyed. 

Noelle and Maya decided to cook for them all since they were going to be seeing a lot of each other. 

After the food was ready Noelle and Maya called them for dinner. 

Chantelle refused to come down because she didn’t want to see Cara. Cara on the other hand was starving so she took Noelle up on the offer to feed her. 

“Thanks, Noelle it doesn’t make us friends though,” Cara said. “Mm, your cooking is amazing I’m looking forward to more of it,” 

“Thanks for the compliment and yes I know wouldn’t even think about it,” Noelle answered.

Jason had been Noelle's childhood friend and comforter since her parents died five years ago. But now Jason had been avoiding her for reasons unknown.

The story follows Noelle and her friends as they go through the ups and downs of college, and last but not least finding out why Jason has been avoiding her.


"Phase one is already complete, now for phase two," Olivia said.
What dangers had been lurking around the corner, and how will Noelle and Jason deal with them?

Tragedy, comedy, and romance all in one. 

Noelle is yet to find out how hard and unfair life can be, but with her friends and companions by her side, she has nothing to worry about.

With the little bumps on the road, can Noelle achieve her dream and find out why Jason was avoiding her?

Kai Watanabe loved books. The way it smelled, to the way it carried meaning, he appreciates it. Yet, his level of admiration of that object is not as half as Honey's devotion to the paper bound object.
Kai was the type to care more of what the book contained than what it looked like. Even her textbooks were still probably immaculate today too. He also folds the corner as a bookmark sometimes, so he knows what page he was in, but Honey found that sacrilegious. She had lectured him before when they were in University for not taking care of his books properly. He remembered grinning to the end, which angered her more, but she was just too cute when ruffled.
Without hesitation, once he was done with his duty at the hospital, Kai drove to the new bookstore, knowing full well who would come. Honey had not been able to enter yesterday, and he knew she would try again today. If she were the same as she had been in University, she would probably be already there.
Arriving at the bookstore, Kai's confident strides grew gentle as he entered into the newly released books, searching for that one person that had plagued his thoughts for how many years now? The last time he saw her was at their graduation, twelve years ago, plus he knew her two years prior when they had two minor subjects together, so fourteen years. Had he been harboring these stupid feelings for that long?
Seeing the familiar womanly back with her hair unusually untied, Kai was a bit surprised. Honey had always tied her hair. She hated the annoyance of hair getting in the way of her reading. She hated having a strand of hair tucked in a book in an accident too. Kai picked up the book nearest to her and said, "I know you'd be here."
Honey looked up from her book, slightly annoyed at being disturb from reading the summary at the back cover, "Oh, it's just you."
"What a bland reaction," Kai commented while putting the book back, and picking up a fantasy novel. His peripheral vision saw Honey returning to the book in her hands. The distance between them was slowly growing closer.
"Sorry," Honey help up on finger to signal one minute, and continued to read, as her mouth mumbled, "...let me finish this..."
Kai read another book's summary on the back cover. Keeping Honey near him, almost afraid he'd lost her. The distance between them was small, but to him, it felt further than the next country. They were friends. He should be grateful... but it wasn't just friendship that he was hopelessly coveting. Waiting for her to finish the summary of the book was easy. Kai had waited more than a decade; a few minutes is a piece of cake.
"Okay, that's done!" Honey interrupted the silence while putting the book in a metal-plastic that was already filled with four books. She turned to face him and asked with arms crossed, "What do you want?"
Deadpanned, Kai remarked, "First, where's that enthusiastic greeting I expected?"
Honey stared at the man with a little bit of annoyance and mirth bleeding from her eyes, and she then cleared her throat before exaggerating, "How was work? Did you miss me? I miss you, oh, wonderful Kai senpai!"
Kai grinned at her, his teeth showing how white it was. Honey's lower lip pursed out, as she regretted her impulsive actions again. Why was she so impulsive with her actions in front of him of all places?!
Kai nodded at Honey and mockingly said, "A passable greeting. I expect something greater than that next time."
Honey scowled. She turned away from him, and picked up another book, flipped it to read the words at the back cover, and ignored the well-dressed man on her side.
Chuckling, Kai pulled another book from the shelf. He might as well try the books she likes.
Both of them focused on the books in their hands, but not genuinely comprehending. Both of them filled with thoughts different than what they were reading. Both of them filled with thoughts about each other.
When they exited the bookstore, Honey had eight new books in her arms, carrying the brown paper bag like a baby instead of its handle. Kai only had two books since he already bought some of his preferred genres yesterday.
Honey loved all kinds of books regardless of the genre, but she often rereads Romance than most. Kai, on the other hand, likes Fantasy and Sci-Fi. With that known information, Honey raised an eyebrow when she saw the two romance books that Kai had purchased, which was only replied with a shrug. She didn't persist with her curiosity since she didn't want to be judgemental. Romance was for everyone with a heart!
Before she could utter her goodbye, Kai blocked her way towards her street and grinned, "Work was boring.  I am glad to know you missed me. To remedy that, how about dinner?"
It took Honey a while to process the words that he was saying. His hands were slowly prying the brown paper bag full of books from her arms before she realized that he was joking about the words that she had said as a joke! Her lips scowled, and without shyness, she also scoffed—her nose wrinkling in annoyance.
Kai did not reply, but his grin stayed the same.
"I'll pay since I did the inviting," Kai added some weight on his offer.
Honey debated with herself. Since she had spent some money on her books, she could use the treat. Shamelessly, Honey nodded. She followed after Kai after she said, "I want fast food."
Kai grinned, "Dine in?"
Honey shook her head, "Drive through. Think about how busy it is at this time."
Glancing at the time using his wristwatch, Kai almost applauded from her fast thinking. Knowing that she was correct, he didn't dare to resist. Wasn't it a bit romantic to eat in the car, though? Or was he just overthinking things again?
As the night continued to creep into the horizon, two people were inside the car parked in a random parking lot of a local convenience store, sharing a large french fries, and eating their burgers while reading a few pages of their newly bought book. 
There were a few conversations, but it was comfortable. 
To them, it felt as if being with someone that knows and understand that not all communications have to be forced, that silence doesn't always mean awkwardness.

Excerpt from Chapter 5:

He saw the way her unmanaged hair covered her face, and although she was not the conventional beauty, Kai found her beautiful. The way she opened the book carefully as if it was as fragile as glass, the way her eyes sparkle as she read, the way her emotions are easily seen as she goes through the plot, These things added more to her beauty. 
Kai stood up and ran his fingers in her hair to push her bangs away. He froze, surprised by his bold actions. 
Honey looked up with wide eyes, her mouth open as her expression morphed into horror.
Kai's lips twitched in amusement. Slowly, his laughter escaped his lips.
Honey's horrified face morphed into confusion.
Kai merely ruffled her already unkempt hair and said, "You are too cute."
Once again, Honey's expression changed as her cheeks tinted pink, and the tip of her ears looked like Cherry Blossom petals.
Kai chuckled. Her blush is a delight to his eyes. 
"You are too cruel. Stop teasing me," Honey murmured, burying her face into her book, trying to hide from the constant stare of the man in front of her. 
"Do you know the saying about boys pulling girl's pigtails?" Kai asked, deciding to close his book to focus on her.
Honey momentarily put her book down and peeked at Kai. Seeing his eyes still drilled into hers, she immediately covered her face again. The tip of her ears turning tomato red. 
"Do you like me?" Her voice came out as a squeak, and, in her opinion, it was definitely not attractive.
"Ever since college."
