Lin Jiali took off her sunglasses and took out a mirror to look at herself. She then moved her face closer to her assistant and pointed at her own face. "Ah Duo, do I look beautiful today?"
Just as Ah Duo was about to say something, she looked at Lin Jiali's beautiful face and lost herself for a moment. When she regained her senses, she sighed and said to Lin Jiali, "Sister Jiali, you are so beautiful. How can there be such a beautiful woman in this world?"
Lin Jiali smiled beautifully and twisted her body happily.
Ah Duo realized that she had changed the topic and quickly changed the topic, "Sister Jiali! I was about to share some gossip with you!"
"Oh, oh," Lin Jiali said as she turned to grab something from her bag. "What's the gossip?"
Ah Duo looked around and said softly, "I heard from the company that Sister Chu and Sister Tan have fallen out. Sister Chu wants to leave with her people."
Lin Jiali's movements did not change. She took out a tube of lipstick from her bag and picked up the small mirror from earlier. As she drew on the lipstick, she said casually, "Didn't they break it off a few times every year? They're used to it."
She looked up at her lipstick color in the mirror and mumbled, "This color doesn't match my makeup."
After muttering to herself, she slammed the mirror shut and said to Ah Duo, "They have been partners for five to six years. It's normal for them to quarrel occasionally. In the end, Sister Tan was the one who was convinced."
Ah Duo said anxiously, "It's different this time! Sister Chu is really taking people away! She has already talked to many people."
Linkly was surprised. "Really? That big?"

Linkari pinched Ah Duo's cheek. "You're one to talk."
After saying that, she threw the lipstick into her bag and reached her hands behind her neck. She waved her black hair and said, "Alright, let's not talk anymore. Let's go find Sister Tan. Didn't Sister Tan say to meet her earlier?"
Ah Duo agreed. "Mmm-hmm!"
The two of them left the lounge and headed to the general manager's office.
As a proper management company, New Arts Culture actually had quite a number of employees. After all, even though it was small, it had all the essentials. Tan Mei shook her head and gestured for Lin Jiali to sit on the sofa. She then stood up and said, "Lin Jiali, the company is in trouble…"
When Lin Jiali heard this, she said directly, "Sister Tan, are you going to deduct my salary…?"
Then, before Tan Mei could reply, she said, "You can give me a haircut… But remember to leave me 10,000 yuan a month. Otherwise, I won't even have enough for my daily expenses."

I hadn't bothered to check my phone all morning, so it wasn't all that surprising to see dozens of missed calls and message notifications. Putting my phone on silent was one of the best things I had done all week. After scrolling through my notifications, I groaned and put my phone down, trying to rub the sleep out of my eyes. It was late and I needed a shower. This hunger was not going to go away on its own. 
Considering it was three in the afternoon, I decided to take two hours to have a bubble bath and relax in the tub. This was one of those moments where the television in the bathroom was coming in handy. Adult animations were my favourite form of entertainment, and I was thoroughly amused the entire time. 
Four in the afternoon came by soon, and then it was five in the evening. I got out of the tub and hit the plug to drain the water out. My routine was simple. Moisturise, get dressed, then apply my makeup accordingly. For some reason I felt like doing a glamorous look, so I went with a dark and bold smoked out eyeliner look and pinkish nude lip. The allure that lining my lower waterline brought to my face was undeniable. 
I was halfway through styling my hair when a frantic knock came from my door. Who could've been knocking with such urgency? 
"Oh my god, okay, here, get dressed, you're coming with me to an event," Sabrina shoved a dress bag at me and made her way to my bathroom. "We have to be there in thirty minutes." 
"What event? Will there be food?" The plan was just to go to dinner, but since this opportunity arrived, I might as well go, right? Maybe the opportunity to build connections here in Miami would arise and it would all work out for good!
"It's the grand opening of a restaurant so yes, there will be food. Guess whose restaurant it is?" Sabrina paused the curling of her hair with my iron to look at me in the mirror. The silence that followed her question let me know that she wanted me to guess, so I did. 
"Gordon Ramsay?" I unzipped the bag and my eyes bugged out at the gown inside it. It was a beautiful satin mauve with a ruffled low scoop neckline and open back. The skirt of the dress itself was flown and a little longer than ankle length with a moderate split reaching up to about knee level. It was perfect for the embodiment of Miami party culture. 
"No, Mimi Herrera. Mimi Alced Herrera, Amaria! Mimi Herrera's team sent me a personal invitation to go to her grand opening! This is huge!" Sabrina was so excited that she started to bounce in place. I could only watch her and try to come to any logical conclusion as I put on the dress. Who in the world was Mimi Herrera? 
A quick search on my phone led me to find results of The Herrera Hour talk show, similar to what Wendy Williams did, but way more controversial. Mimi Herrera was a journalist who first found fame in Nicaragua where she started an Internet talk show about celebrities in her country. After moving to Mexico, she expanded the gossip to celebrities across Latin America, and when she was offered to take her show to national television in Miami, she included celebrities from all countries, 
Mimi Herrera would leave no stone unturned when it came to discussing celebrity scandals. She exposed secrets like smoke to a cigarette. This was a woman who could make or break people. 
"Sabrina, are you sure this is a good idea?" I went into the closet to find some shoes and a purse to go with the dress. This was a perfect opportunity to debut my new sparkly Louboutins and Chanel clutch. "Mimi Herrera is a journalist, she can dig up dirt you never even knew about." 
"You worry too much, it's fine," Sabrina insisted as she leaned towards the mirror to make sure she had no flyaways. "We probably won't even interact with her anyway." 
Also, what was a talk show host doing opening a restaurant? "Wait, why isn't Luke going with you?" 
"He went back to New York," my best friend gave me a look through the mirror and began to apply some lip liner to the outer corners of her lips. The vagueness of her statement confused me, but the only reason I could think of for Sabrina to be this vague was that they were fighting or something else happened. 
"Did you dump him?" I slipped on my new shoes and grimaced once I realised the balls of my feet would be raw by the end of the night. Considering the height of the heel, all my weight would go to my toes, so the need for a few Dr. Scholl's pads was absolutely urgent. Thankfully, I'd had the foresight to buy some when I bought the shoes so that part wasn't as big of a worry. 
"No, he just had to get back to work early," Sabrina corroborated with a shrug of her shoulders. "His replacement was hit by a car." 
I felt bad for my friend because I knew that she'd been waiting for this alone time with him for months, and she'd only gotten to spend a week and a half with him. From the things she herself had said, it didn't seem like it was a productive week and a half. Sure they spent time together, but Sabrina made it out to seem like they weren't even addressing any of their concerning issues. I understood why. Sabrina loved Luke and she didn't want to make him uncomfortable. She probably procrastinated until it was too late. 
"Jesus, I hope they'll be okay," I went to the full length mirror to a side of the room and took a picture of my outfit to post on Instagram. My caption was 'Monochrome just like my feelings.' Which I was sure my million followers would appreciate. My entire Instagram feed was a fashion lover's dream, and I constantly updated with fashion things I'd learned in the New York scene. 
"Ready? Our car is waiting for us," Sabrina was standing by the door with a clutch under her arm. She looked gorgeous in her red dress and white shoes. We would be turning heads for sure! 
"Ready." 
The ride to the party was quite long, considering we were in the metropolitan area, but when we finally arrived, I realised why. There was a trail of black cars behind us, all lining up to drop off the influential people inside. There was a red carpet out, and dozens upon dozens of paparazzi were taking pictures with their camera flashes blinding me. The door to our car was opened and Sabrina got out first, hooking arms with me when I followed. If I'd thought the lights were blinding through the tinted windows of the car, this was like seeing heaven. 
Even though the paparazzi probably had no idea who we were, they took hundreds of pictures of us anyway. Apparently being invited in itself was a really big deal. Actually scratch that, they probably knew who Sabrina was because, once again, she was a very well known DJ in the east coast. 
We posed against the white backdrop for a few photos, making sure to move along with the line of celebs, bloggers, and influencers. If the world didn't know much about me before, they definitely would after tonight. 
After posing for a bit more, we finally went towards the outside lounge area where everyone was congregating and waiting for Mimi to appear. Overall, there were about one hundred people present, and it amazed me that she'd managed to have so many people attending. I guess everyone wanted good press from Mimi Herrera. 
"Oh my gosh, is that Sin Martens?" Sabrina whispered to me as she tried to look discretely to her left. I followed her gaze and felt surprised upon seeing that it was indeed Sin Martens, singer/heartthrob extraordinaire, standing there in a sleek navy blue suit. "Wow, he's even cuter in person." 
"He's got such a punchable face," I muttered back to her, sighing and grabbing a champagne flute off a waiter. My hunger was beginning to make me cranky, and it seemed like the hostess could not arrive fast enough. One minute went by, then two, the five, and finally, the entrance to the lounge was closed off and Mimi Herrera appeared in a white gown. 
"Thank you all for being here today," she smiled. Everyone began to clap. "Since I was a little girl, I dreamed of opening up a restaurant in a big city. I never thought that dream would lead me here," everyone clapped again. "'House Herrera' is not just a commercial building with a kitchen and seating areas. This grand opening commemorates the beginning of bigger and better things, including the new cooking segment on my show." 
Everyone was clapping enthusiastically. Mimi was smart. Cooking segments meant more airtime, and more airtime meant more time to gossip about a random celebrity from her 'pick of the day!' Hat, and that meant more viewers because who didn't want to watch a hostess and her guest drink mimosas while making breakfast tacos? Mimi Herrera was aiming for a late night gossip show, and anyone could quote me on that. 
In the marketing world, predicting future outcomes from campaign strategies was standard day to day for the leaders. Predicting outcome from strategy was what I did, which would explain my affinity to poker and chess, so it wasn't all that hard to tell what Mimi's goal was. The only question that was unclear to me was this; who was she going to tear down to get there?

The artist gave her a bland smile in return. "I have no idea what you're talking about."
From the actress's attitude, she was certain that the former was exactly as she thought her to be—unscrupulous in hyping herself—as such, her impression of Yun Shishi had hit rock bottom.
Getting straight to the point, she grilled her. "You started that rumor about you and Gu Xingze being an item, right?"

"How scheming of you!"

"Eun-Hee-ssi, you're here as well," Sim Yoon-Mi's black obsidian eyes turned radiant as she looked at Sim Eun-Hee. Sim Eun-Hee turned stiff at the sound of her older twin sister. Sim Yoon-Mi's face almost looked like Sim Eun-Hee's xerox copy but softer and mature.
"Ah, Yoonmi Unnie, yes nice to see you too." Sim Eun-Hee cracked up a small smile on her lips. Sim Yoon Mi smiled again blankly and then looked at the thrilled crowd of reporters as she calmly told them:
"Please excuse me, my family is waiting for me,"
"Yes, Miss Sim!" All the reporters and everyone in the crowd chanted together and all followed Sim Yoon-Mi's order as they moved to the side. Sim Yoon Mi smiled again and thanked them all. The fans cheered again for her calmness and softness. Sim Yoon-Mi looked at Sim Eun-Hee and then nodded to follow her up.
A few even whispered: "Wow, just compare our angel with the devil Sim Eun-Hee... really what a Bitch."
Sim Eun-Hee stopped in her steps and then bit her lips to suppress her emotions. She took a deep breath to keep everything in and then continued walking forward.
'Don't mind them... keep it in. Conceal it. Or else Father will kill you.' Sim Eun-Hee kept whispering inside herself. But the more she put her emotions in a box, the more people bad-mouthed her recklessly.
Sim Eun-Hee's mood soured as she heard more comments.
 "Like... how are our perfect Goddess Sim Yoon-Mi and Sim Eun-Hee even related? Are they even sisters?"
"She abuses her authority too much just because she was born rich. She couldn't even respectfully negotiate, how is she worthy of the Sim Family?"

"Mr. Agent Seong, are in? Where are you? They are ready." Mr. Shin called in irritation as if he was tired from warning Hae Seong for hours.
"Mr. Shin, I have a special task that I have to solve right now." Hae Seong said.
"And... that is?" Mr. Shin furrowed over the phone.
"Ugh... I can't choose which coat to wear to the Anniversary."
"–Idiot! Just pick one and go!" Mr. Shin angrily raged.
"Can't– the VIP card you gave me yesterday just has too many choices. There is a darker shade of greenish-grey coat, and then the dark caramel didn't seem bad either. Wait, should I video call you?"
"Mr. Agent Seong, do you have any idea how many minutes you have wasted?" Mr. Shin's mood soured as he vocalized in irritation of handling with Hae Seong. 
"Hold it, I still need to check out the designer's watch..." Hae Seong said as he flashed off the VIP black card in front of the cashier.
"Fool!" Mr. Shin cried. "The Chairman will come gunning for your head if you fail!"

"Oh, sh*t." Hae Seong cursed at the mention of his rival overseas.
"Yes, so do this mission properly if you don't want someone to come gunning for your head and taking your victory. If you waste time, your salary will be cut in half, and you won't get your severance pay either."
"Right, right, Mom." Hae Seong joked and then turned his phone off.
As he entered the parking lot, eyes turned towards him. From men, women, children, everyone's attention turned on to him. 
Wearing Premium Sunglasses and a VIP coat and suit shinning gold designer's watch, Hae Seong looked like an International Celebrity on a break. His brand new Lamborghini shone even in the dusk of the night. Hae Seong grinned at the thought of this attention.
"Sir, are you a celebrity?" an old woman approached him. Hae Seong chuckled, and a few women dumbstruck by his gaze started fangirling.
"Heyo, unfortunately not." Hae Seong wiped off the dust of his Lamborghini and patted down on his brand new designer's outfit. The others sighed in disbelief, as if not digesting the fact that such a flashy man couldn't be a celebrity.
"Then Young Man, you should go apply as one." The old lady joked. 
"No~ then my life won't be any easier." Hae Seong said. His life as an Underworld Mafia agent would be impossible if he were to be a celebrity. Other than that, his original pay was ten times better than what Celebrities get.
"Oh is that so~ you know what they say, those male celebrities like you, are what the ladies want."
