In the darkness of her room, the former Priestess faded into the darkness of her room. Compared to the noisy and flashy 'outside', the shadows of the world were where she felt at home the most...

'It is good I never tried dreaming...' She patted herself on the back for not getting her hopes up.

She had some leads on where the Berserk Killer could have taken her benefactor. However, she didn't have the courage to tell anyone... There was no way they'd believe her if she said she WASN'T someone was helping him from the beginning.

In fact, it wouldn't be a lie to say that she had indeed helped him out merely a day prior to this...

Fear say in the corner while hugging her legs and huddling towards the wall. She was feeling a slight vertigo from the wave of guilt that washed over her Malice got away, but the fact that she couldn't see herself trembling made it easier to cope...

She lightly bit the back of her thumb, nearest to her injured wrist, and endured the irritation that came from the medicine, as well as the emotional pain from feeling like she had betrayed them.

'No, they are just meat shields...!' She tried to convince herself that she had no feelings towards those annoying people who were always basking in the light. They were merely pawns, after all...

Should her Lord find out where she now lived, then she would have to abandon this place and run off.

It was better to be pragmatic with her desires, and not get caught up in the moment. That Musical Number they did together was just strangers playing around. From what she knew, it was normal for people to THINK they were friends.

None of them knew that she NEVER considered them to close to her. After all, friendship wasn't as flimsy as they make it out to be...! A true friend was this special bond she had experienced in the past.

The masked girl remembered back to the days at the Prison Laboratory, where she once had a sincere 'brother' that was kind to her. In the scary world where she was driven to despair everyday for the sake of research, that boy was her only light.

"Even if you have known fear all your life, I will be your courage." These were the words spoken to that frail girl in the past wrapped in bandages after being opened up for research multiple times.

And the little boy speaking was the only person who gave her the will to live on. He was a true friend who kept her from dying from the despair she was inflicted with every single day of her life.

She relied on him, and loved him more than anyone in the world. They were like blood siblings who never spoke of serious topics and always joked around with each other... Therefore, the incident that happened before she was kidnapped by the man she called her Lord broke her heart more that literally stabbing her vital organs could've done.

There was a time when she decided independently to escape using the abilities she had been given by their research. She managed to sneak past the warden and get to the cell the boy who called himself 'Courage' for her behalf was held in.

The young her was quite the dreamer, believing that once they escaped, and left the borders of the Human Empire, they could live peacefully. She had heard a lot about the world from overheating the less obsessed Researchers who had a personal life and could imagine a future with him. She wasn't sure of the present back then, but she hoped for a future where they could marry each other as well.

Even if they didn't marry each other, she wanted a peaceful life where they could introduce each other's partners and live together forever... She didn't want to be called 'Fear' anymore...!

She wanted to be called 'Fearless' instead. The kind of girl who could overcome the traumas of physical pains like multiple injections, being cut open for research, having her genes spliced together with other Beasts, and the solitude of being alone... She dreamed of a reality where she wouldn't have to deal with these things. A future where they could both be happy as always.

However, she was too naive...

"Subject IM01, you have done well. As expected of the Doctor's masterpiece...! You have shown great promise." An excited voice stopped her in her tracks as she saw the boy while hidden in the darkness of night. That boy who she believed to be the only person who ever cared for her smiled.

"No problem. She was easy to get close to. Is there another target you want me to kill today?" A bone chilling voice came out of the boy who named himself 'Courage' as she rationalised his actions.

She didn't want to believe it whatsoever. Fear just wanted to run out and grab his collar, to ask him why he had been tricking her all this time...! But the rational part of her brain could already guess.

She had always been introverted and had attempted to 'free herself' from the abyss known as the Prison Laboratory since the first experiment done on her. The little girl didn't know if she was a homunculus or a 'real girl' that had been taken in from outside. However, she experienced the abuse of the Researchers long enough to know they were trying to 'raise' a tool that did tasks for them.

The 'fake friend' who acted like a brother to her was just an illusion created to stop her from doing anything crazy and reign her into control. Courage was never 'real', he was just an imaginary entity...

She was a smart girl who couldn't figured it out beforehand should she have taken the signs she'd noticed into account. If she had at least suspected how he was never injured or treated as badly as her by the Researchers, she wouldn't have felt pain...!

If she didn't get her hopes up from the beginning and accepted reality, her heart wouldn't be broken.

Yet she was unable to face reality until it was shown to her face. Her bright and innocent eyes were permanently dyed with the colours of paranoia as she closed off her heart once more.

'Huh?' In her dark room, she noticed the wetness of her tears underneath her mask covering her face. She took it off and wiped her face, feeling the worst as the last memories arose in her head.

The darkness was peaceful, the shadows was her only friend in life. She believed she could only truly be herself while hidden, and far from the eyes of anyone who could judge her by her looks.

She never wanted to see the Lord who had kidnapped her or that boy who she found out as the masterpiece of Dr Frank ever again. If she really could, she'd rather stay in this room forever.

She never wanted to be tricked by the promise of friendship ever again... Even if it felt different this time and their warmth was so comfortable that she'd accidentally let down her guard sometimes, a veteran at 'friendship' like her knew this is a farce.

All they were doing is staying together without relying on each other. No matter how alien she might feel outside the Prison Laboratory, she knew that THIS wasn't friendship. It was just being acquaintances with the facade of closeness...!

She wasn't going to fall for this again... They were just meat shields, and no matter what happens in her life, no matter what happens in the future, she will NEVER trust them! If she couldn't become Fearless, then she would embrace her name.

She would never give them the benefit of the doubt and give them tangible reasons to trust her. Fear wanted to latch onto them for as long as she could since she wasn't blind enough to realise that they weren't going to betray her anytime soon.

If they did so, then she would send the secret Aqua Recording she made when Arthur had temporarily became a Half-Demon. Even Vhalen didn't know that she had already made precautions against everyone just in case she was revealed...

If they betrayed her, then so will she!

It was when her thoughts reached here that she heard a mechanical sound from the window and the vibrations of metallic shutters came down. She became speechless as she ran over to the wooden window and opened them to see only metal in her sight. An extreme mental shock hit her heart as Fear collapsed to the ground after seeing it.

Did they betray her already? Or did Alex find out about what she did...?!!! The masked girl panicked as she used her only uninjured hand to slam onto the metal shutter, only to feel lethargic like she had anaemia the moment her fist bounced away.

Damascus Steel, the same material used for her prison cell...! She screamed internally as many bad endings to this scenario appeared in her head right off the bat. There was no way she could survive...!

Was she going to be killed? Did Alex realise she was connected to what happened to his friend? Or was she going to be punished for that Aqua Recording she took without his permission?

'N-no!' She took out the little blue marble that had the recording of what happened and put it in her mouth, then used her enhanced strength to bite down on it. She quickly put on her mask and hid any evidence relating to the crimes she committed.

Not that there was anything else as she destroyed the Aqua Recording with her teeth and lifted her mouth to spit it out straight after. The panic she felt upon seeing the shutters close triggered her traumas from back then in her youth.

'I-I want to be f-free!' She curled up into a ball and felt the syringes stabbing into her entire back.

Even though she was in the darkness she so felt an affinity for and loved, she couldn't escape her mind as just the possibility of returning to those days made heart unable to withstand the despair within her. The mutated Beast Flame she kept hidden from the world pulsed as the illusions of the Researchers turned into figures surrounding her.

"Aaaaargh!!!" She screamed in pain as the shadowy figures stabbed her back mercilessly outside her control. Her Mana was in chaos as the traumas arose to manifest into corporeal entities that could hurt her. She stayed huddled up to the ground as the demonic-faced shadows with familiar figures hurt her the same way those scientists once did.

Tiny needles stabbed into her back and caused her so much pain that retaliated towards the shadowy figures with red eyes. Her clothes weren't torn or damaged outwardly, but anyone who saw her skin underneath would see blue bruises appearing.

The Researchers back then had fed her well both in sustenance and in abuse. She never went one day without fearing that someone would hit her, to the point of unconsciously stiffening up when they did.

After training under the self-proclaimed Demon Lord, she was able to change this reaction to attacking whenever she felt fear. However, she was a failure to the scientists striving to attain knowledge of 'The Truth of the World' and was just as much of a failure as a student of Alan... It was to the point that she was believed herself to be such.

After dispersing the shadows into faint shades of Dark Mana that blended into the surroundings, she remembered the voice of the person who made her feel more fear than the Researcher ever did.

The light in her eyes twisted as she murmured:

"I have known fear all my life. I am the strongest. I have known fear all my life. I am the strongest." She repeated these words as if they were an incantation as she felt her innards churn from the chaos caused by her losing control of her Mana.

Shadowy figures kept on appearing around her as small injuries appeared all over her body. Signs of what she went through kept on appearing as her heart sank deeper and deeper into the abyss.

The masked girl felt like the darkness was calling out to her, asking her to take its hand. Her Beast Flame pulsed as the shadows wrapped around her body and pressured her towards the ground.

They were trying to drag her somewhere, and once they succeeded, she would fully vanish, and be swallowed up by the darkness... At first, she didn't have any strength within her as the shadowy figure with demonic-faces dragged her lower and lower.

"I am the strongest alone." She murmured, but the truth was that she was slowly losing her will to live.

Solitude made one strong, but it could also sap out all the meaning in life. She had spent so much time alone that she forgot why she even struggled anymore, her memory became blurry as she repeated again as if to convince herself:

"I am the strongest-" She stopped there as she noticed tiny ray of light coming from the small opening of her room's door. The memories she had tried suppressing arose despite refusing of them.

The face of the one person who helped her when she was lost after escaping the Cult made her eyes tear up again, remembering Vhalen's face made her unable to suppress her feelings any longer.

When she saw how easily that handsome shorty could befriend people he didn't even know or understand, she might not want to admit it, but in truth, she felt deeply envious... She was unable to do that whatsoever, or even attempt such a thing.

The masked girl was unable to stop doubting people around her. She couldn't have faith in others no matter how friendly they seemed, as she never knew what was going on within their head.

Even Vhalen wasn't an exception from this as she really wanted to trust him despite knowing that doing so would cause her unimaginable pain. She couldn't handle another betrayal in her life!

However, a part of her still wanted to believe...!

Even as she was being dragged into the pitch black shadows that were planning devouring her up whole, she felt a strength from an unknown source in her heart to reach forward towards that light.

Fear reached out towards the small ray of light in vain. She sobbed, as even if it was a just a false hope, even if she would regret it later, the people here made her want to try one last time.

She didn't want to abandon Vhalen. Even if there was a chance he would betray her like her first friend did, she chose to put faith in him despite her rational mind advising against it. Even if it was a false hope, she latched onto it for peace of mind.

There was no way Fear wanted to live alone in the darkness, she didn't want to be swallowed up by it.

In truth, she wanted to show them the wonders of it herself. Even if she liked silence, she'd rather sit in it with others than stay there on her own. As the fear of daylight made her insecure on the inside...

The shadows covering that hand disappeared after she reached out towards the tiny light. It wasn't enough to bring her back or stop what was happening to her. The darkness that knew her best started to retrain her with even stronger force.

Her entire body was covered in pitch black shadows as that hand was being dragged away from that small ray of light. Knowing that resisting no longer have any meaning, she accepted her fate and stopped struggling as her hand was being dragged back. It was only when she heard the scrapping sound of wood did she notice that despite her heart losing strength, her body wasn't willing to let go of that last ray in her life.

'Am I that desperate?' Fear was surprised as she had always believed she would be stronger if she embraced solitude. So why was her hand still resisting resisting the pull of the shadows?

'Is that false hope even worth it?' She asked herself but found the answer in her own actions.

Even when she believed she had given up, her body had refused to give in... It would only take a few moments for her hand to be restrained once again and her body to be dragged into the darkness and swallowed whole, yet she wouldn't stop resisting her fate until the last moment. As if that false hope was worth more than everything.

It was at that point did she become enlightened:

"I am the strongest alone... but I don't want to be alone!" The voice of her heart resounded as she struggled even more ferociously, and the shadows restrained her more powerfully in turn. What defined her would never leave her alone...

Her nature was apathetic yet fearful. This was her true nature. She was a person who wasn't suitable for friendship because of how she was... That's why any attempt to make friends was false hope.

The darkness knew her best, and also knew that she was going to hurt herself again by trusting someone once again. It wanted to protect her for all eternity, embrace her and keep her safe from the false hope that would break what she had left.

Like a mother in the darkest night, the shadows only wanted to protect their most favoured one...!

And they would have devoured her whole, was it not for the person who slammed open the door and caused the small ray of light to turn into a wide radiance that erased away Fear's restraints.

It failed to protect her, was what it believed...

However, a voice filled with worry gave the shadows enough reassurance to leave her to her fate. The darkness was comforted by the voice it heard as the wolf girl exclaimed in shock:

"Fear!"

They say desire is what drives humans. Desire to have friends. Desire to be successful. Desire to love. I disagree. I say fear is what drives humans. Fear of being left out. Fear of being a failure. Fear of being alone. Once the flame of desire burns out, the smell of fear still lingers. Fear doesn't vanish quite as easily as the flare of desire. Fear is not that weak.

Most people's first fear develops when they're a baby. These are small fears, of course. They start off with being afraid of falling or getting yelled at. When people get older, their fears grow with them. The fear of falling takes form in the fear of death, loneliness, or isolation. However, this wasn't true for me. I've never felt fear. As a child, I never cried. Not even once. I imagine tears to feel like the wetness of raindrops falling on my face. It seemed quite nice.

Once, when I was a few months old, my parents got in a car accident and I was in the back seat. The car accident was a hit and run, luckily, it wasn't major. It left my parents with a few cuts and scrapes. However, unluckily for me, it had hit the back side of the car pretty hard. The impact damaged nerves in my head. I had surgery to lessen the damage, however, some things proved unrepairable. Ever since then, I couldn't see from my left eye. The strangest part about the accident, my parents had told me, was that I didn't make a sound during the whole thing. Not a whimper or a shriek. I assume that's when my parents began to fear me. They never said it out loud, but I noticed how my dads gaze always seemed to meet mine and my moms smile faltered a little when looking at me. They hated the sight of my eye. That's when, after a few weeks I had begun wearing an eyepatch over my left eye. This was so I could assuage their fear. However, their gaze kept failing and their smiles were still faltering.

Kuro has always lived an ordinary life. He grew up in a small town called Mukashin with loving parents and decent grades. The only problem for him was, he’s never felt emotion. The deafening sound of thunder reverberated; its power was strong enough to shake the whole place and woke the lying child on the cold marble floor. She was clearly startled by the thunder, Nir had always been afraid of thunder especially now that she finds herself alone in a pitch black place. She tried to look around but failed to see anything due to the darkness, she shivered when another thunder strikes, it gives a faint quick light, enough for her to discern where she was. An all too familiar structure came into her view; she was in the chapel at the back of their mansion. For some unknown reason a wave of fear enveloped her whole being, the surrounding was eerily quiet aside from the occasional thunder strike outside, the howling of the winds and the pitter patter of the rain. She curled into a ball then shut her eyes and covered her ears as she started to break in a cold sweat, she started hyperventilating from fear, she could not remember what happened, the last thing she remembered was she was lying on her bed to sleep for the night when she suddenly heard a commotion outside her room. The next thing she knew she was no longer in the comfort of her room and was lying on the cold marble floor of the chapel.
Her small body stiffened when she heard footsteps from a distance. It was getting louder as the time goes on, she keeps muttering to herself that it was just another nightmare she had to endure. The sound of the footsteps continued, she tried to focus herself on the sound but she heard another noise that made her blood curled, it was a sound of something being dragged. When the footsteps stopped, her heart was pounding and ringing in her ears, she find breathing harder and taxing she could feel the sudden dropped in temperature making all her hairs stand on ends. With all her courage she tried to open her eyes as another thunder strikes, it temporarily lights the place and what she saw shattered her being. Her eyes widened in fear, shock, pain and all other feelings she could not name as a black figure standing tall in front of her with a sinister face and blood red eyes, the eyes of a devil looking down on her but what made her lose her sanity was the bloodied lifeless body of his father that was dragged by the devil. She shrieked with anguish, fear and hatred.
"Nir! Nir! Wake up, you are having a nightmare..!!"
Max was shaking Nir vigorously to wake her up from her nightmare. She opened her eyes wide in panic; a spasm of fear crossed her face while she was shaking violently tears streaming down her face. She gripped Max's arm that was on her shoulder and said shakily.
"We gotta kill him. We need to do something Max, he is already in our ranks. He infiltrated the knighthood and the church."
She forcefully tried to get out of her hospital bed squirming out of her master's grasp. Max continued to pin her down.
"I don't understand what you are talking about. You need to calm down Nir. Tell me what is wrong, I will listen to you."
Nir screamed with all her might, as if losing her sanity and senses all at once.
"No! I need to slay him, I need to slay him even if it cost me my life."
A slap landed on Nir's face, she stopped screaming as if a pale of cold water was splashed on her face. She blinked and then realizes what she had done. She looked up in horror but what she saw on Max's face was enough to calm her mind a little bit. Worry and concern was written all over his face. Before she could explain he spoke to her in an ashamed voice.
"I'm sorry ,don't disregard your life like that. Are you awake now? You can hit me too. After that I can listen to what you have to say."
Reminded by her dark past, Nirian's eyes started to redden. It was evident how much pain she was feeling right at the moment. She helplessly lay down on her bed, ashamed for showing her weakness she covered her face with her hands and said softly.
"I'll be ok Max. Thank you. Will you please leave me alone for now? I'm tired."
He hesitated for a moment but knowing Nirians's stubborn nature he decided to give her some alone time to compose herself. They've already spent quite some time together but he never saw nor expected her to act like that, fearful and vulnerable. She was always brave and calculating in front of him, now he understood that it was all a front, a way for her to hide her scars. The hatred in her eyes was so tangible that he could somehow feel it deep in his bones, he was anxious about it but all he could do now was to wait for her to open up to him. However what caught his attention was that short outburst from her about something evil has infiltrated the Order, if it was true then they were all in danger.

"Nirian, my love. Even if the heavens and the earth shatters. Even if I have to wait for ten thousand lifetimes, I will always find you to love you and protect you."

The world was divided into seven countries called the Holy Seven City Gates, underneath the peaceful lives of the many; there was another race who flourished in secret-The Nephilims. Over the centuries they grow stronger while the Guardians of the Human Realm dwindled in number and power, the fragile balance between the two started to tip off. Caught between the crossfires were the two souls whose fates were entangled with world's future. Will their love conquers the cruelty of their destiny?

She kept running by the edge of the town to keep herself from being seen. When she gets tired, she would rest a bit, and then starts running again. Because of too much fear, she just ran and ran without thinking where she's headed. It was not until she has covered quite a distance that she stopped. When she crept closer towards the town, it wasn't her home place anymore. She saw no houses but only a small, lonely makeshift hut nearby. 

Panic started rising inside. Being a shy little girl, she rarely comes out of her house and usually wanders not too far. She would always hang out alone in that clearing and try with the hope that her key will appear, but with her hideout discovered, even her only comfort place has been invaded and taken. Being alone in an unfamiliar place brought a new fear within her.

"Oh n-no. W-what should I do? How s-should I get back?" she whimpered. Her eyes that has recently dried from too much running were starting to fill with tears again. She looked back, thinking she could try retracing her steps, but was surprised to see that the trees all looked the same. Being confused, alone and tired totally made her loose heart she broke down. She wept bitterly, but was trying hard to be as quiet as possible because she was afraid to attract or disturb nearby beasts and other scary creatures. It was still mid-afternoon, but the thought of reaching twilight in this unkown place made her cry even more she was trembling.

Then her ear picked up a sound. She slowly stopped crying and made a puzzled face. A melody was carried by the mild breeze. She looked up from burying her face in her hands and listened. After a while, she stood up unsteadily and inclined her ear around, curious to find the source. When she seemed to have located where it came from, she walked, wiping away the wetness of her face on her hands and clothes. She had completely forgotten her worries. Slowly but surely she crept closer, and the sound became even more distinct. It was a classical music. Somebody with such gift must have been playing, although she has no idea what kind of instrument. Her face lit up to figure out this mystery. She hastened her steps but made sure to be as quiet as possible. She would often scold herself to be quiet when she stepped on a dried leaf or twig. 

The music was just nearby. She hasn't walked that far when she saw a small clearing ahead. It was similar to her hideout but this one was quieter since it's not close to a town center. She hid behind a tree by the bushes, her back against the trunk. The melody sounded nice as it kept playing. She giggled silently with excitement. Who could be playing and what is the gift?

Stealthily with a grin on her face, she leaned to her right and turned to peek. Then her mouth hung open and her eyes widened.

The fairy kingdom of Forest Sound are very excited for the upcoming celebration of the Season of Talents. Everyone was merry and busy preparing but one. Luna, one of the little bugs still hasn't discovered her talent because her key has not yet appeared. She has only a week before it's over. Will she still be able to perform? I 

 The smell of salt-laden air filled the breeze, conveying the whispers of the sea that lay beyond. The waves roared through the sand, smashing the beach, wrapping the shells in a haze of darkness and despair. Tired feet paced towards the depths of the sea, inch by inch her body sank. She stared at the waves, death beckoning just moments before her. She was tired and desperate for food, days of walking mile after mile had taken a huge toll on her body. Nobody was coming for her, she was left alone, left to die on this miserable place. She looked back at the land again, it was foolish for her to hope, foolish for her to yearn for someone to pull her out of this madness. 

 A child of war. That was who she was, and that was all she was ever going to be. 

 Lightning donned the lands in a streak of white and blue, its command reaching to the sea, ceasing its waves, letting her legs have a footing below, and the abundance of the sea stretching once more. Silence met with her, an empty feeling it was, to be alone with nothing but silence to shelter you against the darkness. And maybe it was the eerie voices of the sky above her, murmuring prayers of hope to the gods, or the ruthless waves rolling towards her, hard and unrelenting, but there she knew—she realized. 

 She may be alone in this realm, in this god forsaken place, but she was not weak---no, she had a reason to stay alive, a purpose that kept her running for miles and miles. Through the crusting sands of the mortal lands, the screeches of vermin and drought to which she escaped, the harrowing journey from dusk till dawn—she knew the risks, the consequences and trials she would face. Her steps halted, her eyes finally beholding the landscape that stretched before her grief-stricken eyes. A resolution. 

 This was not to be the end of her.

 She smiled as lightning once again colored the sky, darkness taking shelter as white light began its journey to cover the whole expanse of the skies. Curving her head upward as she trudged towards shore, she gazed in amazement, two sides fighting for dominance, a dance it seemed, but in the end, it was obvious who the victor would be. As one, brightness began to dim its core, slowly losing its grip upon the lands, retreating to the heavens, leaving darkness to engulf the world with its black hands of grief and desolation. It was darkness himself who kept her company, darkness himself who kept her sane and darkness himself to claim her in her final moments. 

Once darkness undoubtedly took over, the girl began to saunter back ashore, her eyes filled with utter determination and optimism for the days ahead, for the life that waited before her eyes, the life that she fought for, the life that she deserved.  

She trudged through the ice cold waters, willing her legs to press on one after the other, yet as she steadily neared the sandy beach her limbs seemed to have abruptly halted, her body merely stood just meters away from the shoreline and her feet were glued to the ocean floor, unyielding to the continuous force of movement she wanted. Cold hands caressed her ankle, slowly making its way to her calves. The girl glanced down at her lower torso, her eyes widened as dark hands attached themselves to her body, steadily marking her body with wraith-like marks. 

Death. Darkness. They were coming for her. It was time. 

She willed her body to move once more. One step, just one step was all she could hope for. 

Just one. 

She could feel the hands travel upward, towards her belly, seizing her forearms in one icy grip. All her eyes could see was the shore, its sand shifting as waves covered them again and again. A few steps was all it took, a few simple steps. 

The girl sobbed as darkness claimed her once again. Pulling her down and down below the abyss of the sea. Panic gushed her entire body, arms flaying on both sides, resisting the other worldly pull, fighting until her last breath finally escaped her body. Eyes instilled overhead, past the labyrinth of darkness, she saw nothing. Nothing but obscurity and gloom. 

It was darkness from the beginning and darkness till the end. 

It was as if she were darkness herself.

Her eyes began to give up on her, not a single ray of light dared to look back upon her pitiful state of being. Abandoned once again and left with no one to remember her existence, and no one to reminisce in her final moments, a certain emotion surged through her. 

Hate.

Hate for her parents, hate for her sisters and hate for the world. She would give anything to see the light again, to hear the illustrious melodies of the world, to feel the grass caressing her feet and to demand justice-for her scars, for everything. 

She would give anything to see them drop to the ground and regret everything they did. 

Anything.

Cold and taunting claws began to knock the veils of her skull."Anything, my child?" The voice was hoarse and deep, almost serpentine-like, scratching against her mind and begging to be heard. Her eyes scanned the surroundings once more, looking for a being, a figure, a shape. But all that welcomed her was the vast stretch of the ocean, dark and cruel.

The voice purred. "Fear not my child, I mean you no harm." Scrambling, the girl struggled once more, praying for her useless body to move. Not a twitch nor a sound, her body remained like stone, unmoving and almost nearing its end. Her thoughts erupted everywhere inside her mind, memories juggling themselves out from the pits of her brain. This was not the end, she recited to herself. 

This was not the end-a prayer. 

They will pay. 

The voice snickered, its silhouette slowly taking form before her eyes. Fear shook her body for the first time in a long while. Her eyes met the being once again. Alabaster skin shone in contrast against the darkness, silk hair draped its slender body, face carved by the gods, silver-ringed gray eyes met with hers, and lips as pink as the flowers she once plucked from the gardens of her family's estate. The source of the voice smiled. The girl's body began to move. 

Pain did not welcome her, instead, warmth wrapped her frail body---her old wounds seemed to have healed, but some scars remained. Finally, the girl spoke, "It can't be…", she shut her mouth indefinitely, but the figure merely stared at her, amused.

"What bothers you my child?" The figure was entertained yet again by her obliviousness as it stretched its long slender fingers along its face, smirking at the girl. Waiting. 

Both of them stood only a feet away from one another. The girl steadied herself and without hesitation, cut the space between them with one step, facing the silhouette head-on. Her frail body tensed for a moment as she surveyed the figure once more. She was right, her fear was not misplaced and the figure now smirked in joyous consideration for what she had realized.

The girl glanced at her own arms, at her own skin-her alabaster skin. She tossed her head in the air and chuckled, her hands clasping the ends of her hair, trailing downwards to her neck and laughed again, her head sloped to its usual position, facing the being once more with vengeful eyes. 

The voice was her, she was the creature. It was of no wonder she felt a sort of pull with the being, they were the same, cut from the same cloth. Alike. Both their features were the same, from its smile to her hair, and her skin, as pale as paper, the only thing that distinguished both of them from one another was the girl's scars, decorating her body like accessories, a giant scar stretching from the bottom of her belly to her calves, marring the girl forever. The being grinned, baring its sharp teeth to her---a greeting.

She was darkness.

Her other self stretched her palm to her, beckoning her to follow. "Never forget, always remember my child." Ice cold fingers met the girl's cheeks, stroking her face, tracing her eyes, seizing her hair and pulling her near. She could feel its breath toddle on the back of her neck. The being purred, "Make them regret, make them pay."  The girl knew what it meant. With one hasty push, the shadow released her hair, rose-gold strands fluttering underneath its palm. It sneered once more, sending shivers down her spine. Memories started flashing; ragged whips enclosed in blood, figures grabbing her by the arm, scarlet clouds marred the skies, releasing burning drops of acid, and the screams of people she never met, corpses piled on top of one another like bricks, rotting underneath the scorching sun, awaiting for the next shipment of cement to conceal the bodies inside a wall. 

Never again. The smell of the bodies never left her, not even once. Nightmares haunting her day and night. The rutty hands of strangers shoving her from one point to another, a defenseless child with no family, alone and left to fend for herself.

The beasts Aron talk about is the Hundreds of Evoved Ancient beasts and their armies, who slightly after apocalypse gained Ancient power from their bloodline making them neither beasts nor man, but he call them Evolve ancient being. They can morph in human form and have intellegence comparable to ancient scholars. What was worse is that they are not alone, they have millions of beasts under them. That is what worried him, he did not fear those eight world beasts, he fear their army, imagine sorounde by millions of beasts that did not fear death jump to you one after the other if they are ordered to do so. These beasts have no fear in their vocabulary at all.

Aron shudered, imagining facing those situation make him  trembled in fear.

The last time Aron experience fighting countless of them is when they siege the last stronghold of humanity. Well as he is the strongest(in himans side) he quickly went to help.

On his way to the stronghold he was intercepted by unending waves of beasts from sky to underground. The only thought on his mind at that time is to quickly kill all those blocking him and to arrive there as fast as he can. 

He lost count on how many he killed after killing tens of thousands of them. As his though only focus on the stronghold and how to quickly reach there, he did not know that in others perspective, he is like the god of war in legends leaving mountains of corpse and destructions in his wakes.

Arriving in the previous stronghold make him realize that he did not make it in time. What was a magnificient strnghold before transform into what he is seeing now, a ruins full os rubbles and corpses, there is only a couple of beasts  can be seen eating those unrecognizable corpse from gis sight. 

At that time he did not know why but he felt no remorse or sad etc. He only felt empty. He just sighted and as he was about to leave the ground suddenly tremble and countless beasts emerge in all directions. Leading those beasts are  hundred and something of human figure sitting on their respective mount. 

'Well atleast some of them died' Aron thought to himself.

  Luckilly he always bring many  live saving secret item and one of them is instant random teleportation talisman. 

He calmly looked to them especially those in himan forms, while they are smirking in their own unique way and some of them even chuckiling like some  vallains in the movie. His empty feeling replace by anger but he could only grit his teeth as there is nothing he could do.  

If he fight them then his only ending is dead. And the only thing he can do is to lazily raise his right arm and then point his midle finger for the to see, he even wave it a bit afraid they will not notice. Seeing those dark face some even purple because of anger in their face subside his anger slightly so he activate the instant random teleportation right after.

And thats how he is hunted day to night years after years untill he come to this small island realizing that living in this island is better than being hunted 24 hours a day.

"lets take a look outside for a bit " Aron talk quietly and was prepairing to stand up thinking taking some fresh air outside  to relax when suddenly something pop up in front of him. It is a hologram window with text saying "Congratulations Aron Dwane for being choosen by this system as his master"

I woke up from deep slumber when I heard a loud thud in my room, I sit bolt upright and was covered with fear that someone might have barged in to my room. I know that the dawn wasn't there yet to greet me, my grandma would be here already to check me out if the morning have already rise up. She didn't want her son to be alone with such a horrendous and vile woman like Cerri, she was a horrible merciless queen who tortured and taken many lives. The thought of son being alone with Cerri made her Qi ignite. 

"I said don't worry about me. I can handle myself," Drakos looks at the Phoniex Queen without any fear in his golden eyes. His long white hair that was tied up in an epic manly ponytail flowed with the wind that came from the ceiling area of the throne room.


"I won't you let be alone with her! Don't go with her my son!" Katrina pleaded as she looked at Drakos with worry in beautiful ruby eyes. Her red eyes were much brighter and valorous than the Phoenix Queen's. She gripped her Phantasm Warrior-Ax and points it at the Phoniex Queen.

"Tch! Like I would let my mother alone with a bastard who kissed me!" Princess Celestia fiercely stomps her red high-heels on the ground. 

"You listen to a mere warrior boy but not me!?" Bellows out the Phoneix King. 

"Shut it! Enough of your sniffling the both of you! I want to talk to this boy alone and that is all!" The Phoneix Queen snarls and grabs Drakos by the arm and walks him out of the Throne Room. 

Cerri leads Drakos down a flight of stairs he can see a bunch of warrior statues and surround by fiery chains. Everything looked like a volcanic dungeon the lower they got. 


Drakos sees rows of cages on the walls of the stairway filled with different races of Zareth he sees elves and Demi-humans all beaten up and bloody. The steel cages were infused with Phoneix flames so that the slaves and prisoners could not escape if they dared to that is. The Demi-Humans had psychical traits of a human fused with a beast, like fox ears, tails, and other animal appendages. The creation of a Demi-Human was a forbidden taboo and it was clear that the Phoniex Kingdom was abusing its power by experimenting with Demi-Humans and using the 'poor' as test subjects. 


Drakos was infuriated and angered to see all of the elves and Demi-humans in such a horrendous state. It reminded him of seeing Ryui and Elanah covered in whip marks and burn scars after being tortured by the Phoneix Queen and Princess. 

"Why do you do all of this? What have they done to deserve such punishment?" Drakos angrily asked the Phoniex Queen with a serious and cold face, he was pissed off to see such useless brutality. He always believed there were two sides of everything, right and wrong, dark and light, evil and good, but what was in front of him was raw untamed savagery. Drakos already knew he wasn't good in any way possible, however, he did try to do what was right. He everything his way. 

"Bah! Do you actually care about these worthless creatures? They are nothing but mere tools to do my bidding!" Queen Cerri snarls as she crosses her slender arms and disrespect kicks the cages of the slaves and prisoners. 

"No, they are not. You are the worthless one here. You want to control everything and bend everyone to your whim, but you can't even control yourself. So now I will take full control," Drakos gripped Cerri's wrist and pulled her mature busty firey body close to his buff chest. 

"Just because they are a different race does not make them worthless or inferior to you. Your whole mindset is flawed and power-hungry. I will put you in your place," Drakos darkly said as he tightly held  Queen Cerri close to him and then drags her over to her bedroom. 

"Unhand me at once! I don't even know why I am flowing you! You have manipulated my mind!" Queen Cerri barks out as her dark ruby eyes start to glow and Phoneix flames spark around her eyes. 

"Trust me. You haven't seen the full potential of my power," Drakos drags Cerri over to her room and kicks open her room door. He then lifts her up bridal-style towards her lavish rose-colored bed

"What are you doing!?" Queen Cerri angrily roars out as she goes to slap Drakos. She was pissed off that a young boy was taking advantage of her! Oh have the tables turned! 

"I already told you. I am going to put you in your place after we have a nice long talk," Drakos said with an evil grin, his sharp golden demonic eyes made Queen Cerri tremble with fear, she bit her red lips as Drakos stared her down showing her who was the alpha. 

Drakos actually wanted to be teleported by Verlin to the Queen's Castle. He waited for that happen, that is why he kissed Princess Celestia and killed Seron. He knew that would bring enough attention for him to be summoned to the Phoneix Queen's throne. Through the Phoniex Queen's doors destiny awaits.

With a huge crowd control caused by the Abyss spiral, the air units like the Happy were rather weak. 

Large ground units weren't usually easy to pull in, but small air units like the Happy had no other alternative to overcome being pulled by the Abyss Hole.

As the Happys began to get sucked in, Ian's next order fell. 

"Kaka, let's start!"

Subsequently, the low familiar resonating sound rang throughout the battlefield.

Subsequently, as the height was sufficient, the Wings of Darkness were spread out. 

Blackie once again attacked the Happys.

Blackie was the god bird born from the darkness. 

However, on the contrary, the unique ability 'Magic chain explosion' was a skill that could only be triggered when there was light. 

In order to see the shadows, light was needed. In order to cast Blackie's unique ability, shadow was needed.

A powerful chain explosion came out of Blackie's wings.

Once the dark bombardment was done, the Happy's were pushed further into the Abyss Hole. 

The Happys, who tried their best to get out of the Abyss Hole, fell into a state of 'fear' and lost all of their ambitions. 

The more frightened the enemy, the more powerful the attack would be. 

And having frightened the targets, the battlefield was now owned by Blackie.

Since the state of 'fear' was in effect, the cooldown reset of the unique abilities was in process.

Fear was like the cage of a bird that was hard to escape from unless the captor released its victim.

And right now, the skill link was something that was similar to a situation from a monsters' point of view.
