"Fuck you." She unclasped his arms and sat up. The man was fast as he pulled her down, grabbed her waist, pinning it above her head. 
 Her eyes dilated seeing him fully naked and she accidentally sees his lower thing. She shut her eyes and avoid his kiss. 
"For the love of God! Dress up!" She muttered. 
"Oh." He looked down at his thing and it's hard. "Don't mind my big buddy here." He said sexily and bent down to kiss that adorable frowning brows. "My lady… we will be together soon." 
"Fuck you." She scolds him. 
 Her blood races up to her head and she unclasped her wrists from him and pushed him. She drags the pillow and covers it on his thing. She exhales and brushes her fingers through her hair. 
"I thought that you are going to fuck me?" He asked quizzically. 
"Stay away!" She slid off from the bed and face him. "Leave my house." 
 He didn't move an inch and just looked at him with his hand over the pillow that covers his lower part. She was pacing back and forth. She needed to leave where this guy could not find her. Alanis blinked and was curious about what she's thinking. 
"Darling?" 
"Why can't you just leave me alone?" She asked him fiercely. 
"I like you." He said it casually. "You wanted to leave the country? Let's run away together." 
 She looked at him for a while and thought about it. 
"I will bring you to places that would make you happy."

A day like an other on JYPhig.



I was sitting on my place in our math clas reading in my notebook, I sudenly heard our techer sudenly yell "Inside" whit his loud yet stern voice , As I sruged and looked back into my note book lisening to the talk.


As I looked up I briefly caught his beateful chocolate eyes before he turned to teacher.

I've senced that everyone's eyes were on the new boy, except for me since I didn't care a bit I looked like a bad boy wearing a black leatherjack.

My attitude wasn't arrogant although everyone though I was selfish to everyone no one know I had a boy friend called Jea, I just focused on my notes and shrugged it of.

I heard to boy squeak a"Sorry, I was lost" I listened at his shy voice . 

"There is another place besides Jackson" i heard the teacher say as i looked up to see him pointed to me as I fastly looked dow to my book.

When he sat down on the chair next to me and puted his bag on the floor.

I was searching Assignment 15 in my notebook and saw him just look at his hands and didn't dear to say a work.

"Aren't you going to  introduce ourselves anymore, beautiful?"

Four people, Huang Xiaolong, Fei Hou and the two guards from the Marshal's Mansion headed towards a cultivation technique and battle skill auction house (having decided to go there before heading to the property market).

The Black Moon Art was a high-grade Mysterious rank exercise; it would definitely fetch a good price.

Moments later, Huang Xiaolong's group of four arrived at a cultivation technique, and battle skill auction shop called Solitary Peak.

Probably due to the early hours, the auction hall was empty when the four of them walked in.

"May I ask if you gentlemen want to buy or sell cultivation techniques?" asked the shop supervisor as he approached them (having seen the four of them as they walked in).

"I want to auction a high-grade Mysterious rank cultivation technique." said Huang Xiaolong without preamble.

"Mysterious high-grade!" The supervisor was really surprised as he looked at Huang Xiaolong. Generally, people were rarely willing to sell a high-grade Mysterious rank technique and skill.

"Correct." Huang Xiaolong answered lightly.

"Please, please come inside so we can discuss." The Supervisor's expression drastically changed, and he smiled broadly as he ushered the four of them into the inner hall. He quickly ordered servants to serve tea as Huang Xiaolong was seated, then he went to inform his superiors.

Very soon, an old man in his sixties wearing a gold colored robe came into the hall, followed by the previous supervisor, he was Solitary Peak's Elder, Lin Yuan.

As Lin Yuan came in, surprise flickered across his eyes when he saw Huang Xiaolong.

"He he, I'm Solitary Peak Auction's LinYuan. I heard that Little Brother wants to auction a high-grade Mysterious rank cultivation technique," said Lin Yuan as he came in smiling.

Huang Xiaolong didn't say anything but pretended to take something out from his robes while actually taking a black book out of the Asura Ring. He put the book on the table and opened to the first page.

Lin Yuan was rather surprised as he had heard of Black Moon Art. After practicing this cultivation technique that trains in the yin energy of the moon, if one practices it especially at night, the power of this technique increases.

Controlling his expression, Lin Yuan smiled saying, "This is definitely a high-grade Mysterious art, how does Little brother want this auction?"

"I need money at the moment, so you offer a price." replied Huang Xiaolong after thinking for a moment.

If he decided to auction the book, it would take two to three days before he could get the proceeds from the auction which was why Huang Xiaolong decided to sell it directly to the auction house, so that he wouldn't need to waste time.

On hearing Huang Xiaolong's words, it was clear to Lin Yuan that Huang Xiaolong needed the money urgently, a pained expression appeared on his face as he said, "This Little Brother, you are aware that directly selling it will only fetch you a very low price." then, he continued with an air of magnanimity saying, "But I won't short change you, I offer you fifty thousand gold coins!" His hand showed five fingers.

"Fifty thousand gold coins?" Huang Xiaolong sneered in his heart when he heard that. This old guy was really taking him as a little kid, trying to send him away with a measly fifty thousand gold?

A high-grade Mysterious rank cultivation technique could reach a price as high as three hundred thousand gold coins minimum in an auction, so selling directly should at least bring him two hundred fifty thousand gold coins. Even a mid-grade Mysterious rank cultivation technique would cost at least one hundred thousand gold coins.

"Stop!" yelled Lin Yuan, when he saw that the four were about to leave. His body then flashed, then he appeared beside Huang Xiaolong blocking his path with his hand. Suddenly more than ten gray robed guards rushed into the room.

Huang Xiaolong's expression became cold, looking at them he asked, "What is the meaning of this?"

Lin Yuan's earlier smile vanished, as he said "Little Brother, why are you in a rush to leave, is it because of guilt? Does your cultivation technique manual have suspicious origins ?"

Huang Xiaolong returned Lin Yuan's look with a look full of interest of his own, "My manual's origin is suspicious?"

Lin Yuan smirked, "That's right. Our auction house lost a high-grade Mysterious rank cultivation technique, the Black Moon Art a few days ago!"

Huang Xiaolong sneered in his heart, it seemed like this person wanted to force him to sell cheaply so he gave an excuse implying that the Black Moon Art was stolen from the Solitary Peak auction house.

On Earth, Huang Xiaolong had come across this kind of forced sale situation a few times.

"Attack, kill them all! Snatch back that Black Moon Art manual!" Lin Yuan shouted anxiously; he flashed and appeared in front of Huang Xiaolong and struck out.

But the moment he appeared before Huang Xiaolong, a silhouette suddenly cut in between them. Fei Hou slashed out, and swords sparks floated out like white snow-flakes.

Startled, Lin Yuan tried to retreat but the many snow flake-like sword sparks melted into his body and Lin Yuan screamed as his body was sent back flying and crashed into a pillar.

The two Marshal's Mansion guards' bodies were spinning, and with every turn, an auction house guard fell down.

Having being sent to protect Huang Xiaolong by Marshal Haotian, these two guards' strength couldn't be weak; although they were yet to reach the Tenth Order, they both were at the peak late Ninth Order, so how could the auction house guards win against them!

Very quickly all the gray clothed guards were lying on the floor moaning in pain, only then the two guards who followed Huang Xiaolong stopped.

"Young Master, are you alright?" Both of them stepped towards Huang Xiaolong and asked respectfully.

His imposing presence radiated to regions dozens of miles around him, holding such power that the dawning sky dulled. He therefore became the greatest source of heat in this world, scorching all things around him. Still, the dried plants were but incidental victims—the undead spirits around him were the ones being bombarded heavily.
Nonetheless, Armand stood before his army. The halo over his head whirled slowly, blocking the opponent's cleansing lifeforce that radiated out of his entire body.
He immediately knew that the person was the target of their journey.
A Heavenly champion who stood before the threshold of Divine, capable of breaking through at any moment!
An equal of their current broken bodies, a power that belonged to the peak of this world that was deteoriating by the day.
"So, you're that person from another world."

Though Armand's words were laced with thick caution, there was no hint of enmity. Even Joshua paused for a bit at his demeanor, but he soon shook his head as if mocking the other for thinking too much.

Slowly lifting the greataxe and greatsword and assembling both into the unsophisticated Dragonslayer Swordspear, he assumed a combat stance with a spear in hand, inviting the other into a fight.
There were flames within his gaze, as if narrating a simple truth.
 —Only victors have the right to talk.
With that, the lifeforce emission that was spreading incessantly everywhere quickly shrunk, cascading back into Joshua's body.
Knowing that his opponent was a being that did not dull in comparison against Herlas—perhaps even surpassing him, the warrior would neither be careless nor spare an ounce of power.
"You wish to fight?" Armand smiled coldly on the other side, shaking his head as he grasped Joshua's intentions. "Pitiful fellow. You totally have no idea what you're dealing with."
In the very next moment, the general drew the longsword from his hip, his fingers clenching over it as he held it before himself.
A resounding reverberation came banging from his body. With the thunderous boom, endless black haze ejected out from the seams the general's dragon-armor, shaping into a gigantic black halo formed from endless runes and totem constructs over himself and his army. The halo chained every Death Shade together as if fusing them into a single body.
Moving clouds shifted under the manipulation of that power as if a pair of colossal, invisible hands were condensing every energy on this earth. Armand's voice was also gradually growing more powerful, turning from your typical speech into the roar of a million dragons at once. Gales formed from the sound waves billowed across the skies of the wastelands, causing clouds to surge and the world to lose color—as if all things could not disobey his view.
The dragon-armor general lifted his head slightly and focused his gaze on Joshua, a cruel killing intent exploding instantaneously.

One by one, every Fairy Tail member who had undergo the 'Hell' level training started to return.

The first one was Erza, she brought along with her some horns, scales and other proofs that she hunted down fifty s-class beasts.

Gajeel and Gray are next, they were pretty beaten up, their bodies are full of injuries, but it was not life threatening.

Then Mira and Laxus along with Happy and Lily also returned, of all the people here, their group are the one that suffered the most.

They were being played around by those saint-class beasts like they are some sort of a toy, and they couldn't even fight back!

If it wasn't because of the cloak that given them, then they would've died the moment they met them.

Only Lucy and Wendy still hasn't returned, they waited for awhile until Ultear 'asked' Mest to bring them here.

It turns out that the two of them has yet to hunt and collected fifty s-class beasts.

Lucy gathered 38 while Wendy gathered 33.

"Haaa~! I will never going to train with Natsu ever again! I lost count on how many times I almost died!" Lucy complained as she layed down on the sofa.

"Argh~ my body is still in pain, I couldn't move a muscle, damn flame-brain." Gray said, his body was covered by bandages. Then he look at the ceiling and thought, 'Well, at least I'm already proficient on Titan Slayer magic.'

"Gehee~! At least our strength increased so much, I feel like I can beat salamander now." Gajeel said, as Ariel, who is leaning on the wall, suddenly burst into laughter.

"Hahahaha! Oh that's funny! Hahaha!" Ariel clutched her stomach while laughing until tears gathered at the corner of her eyes, "You think you can beat master? Every wizard saints doesn't even dare to compare themselves at him much less you."

Gajeel snorted and remained silent, even though her words are true, bu5 damn it still hurts his pride.

"Hmm, come to think of it, how come flame-brain became one of the Four Gods of Ishgar? What happened to the other one?" Gray asked while taking a glance at Ariel.

"He went rogue." Ultear was the one to answer after coming out of the kitchen. 

"Rogue? Did he joined other country or something?"

"Yeah, he joined Alvarez Empire and became one of the guards of the emperor. Do you want to know who he is? The one who went rogue i mean?"

"Who is it?"

"God Serena, the strongest(formerly) mage of Ishgar." Ultear said, shocking everyone in the house.

"Damn~ then the Alvarez's strength increased by level." Gajeel said, after all God Serena's title as the strongest mage Ishgar is not just for show.

Ultear smiled and shook her head, "I don't think so, from what I heard, God Serena's strength should be at the very bottom."

"What!?" Now, even Laxus, Mira, and Erza was staring at Ultear with eyes widened in shock.

"If the Ishgar has the Ten Wizard Saints, then the Alvarez has the Spriggan Twelve, I have heard that each Spriggans has the power to destroy countries on their own, though I don't know if that's true or just exaggerated, but it doesn't change the fact that our so-called strongest mage is rank at the very bottom."

"Everyone, the food's ready, its time to eat," Kagura and Meredy went out of the kitchen and called out.

On an inhabited island, a handsome man with crimson hair, with a white scarf wrapped on his can be seen. He was floating a meter above the ground, two demonic-horns sprouts on his forehead.

A dark-crimson tattoo can was imprinted on his right eye(you know, like Meliodas) his arms waa covered by a dark-crimson scales(like in the anime, when he fought Gray) and a darl-crimson flames in a shape of a wing was on his back.

His upper body was naked, and a dark-crimson sun tattoo was imprinted on his chest, and a tribal tattoo on his left arm(check the cover)

From time to time, dark-crimson lightning sparks will appear around his body.

This man, was Natsu Dragneel.

He clenched his fist as he glared at the distant sea with a cold and indifferent look, then with swift movements, he threw a punch.

The air shrieks and trembles, causing a powerful air pressure that splits a large part of the sea.

"Good, now, I won't lose to Acnologia anymore."

Suddenly, Natsu felt someone appearing behind him, he looked over his shoulders with a cold look, "Brother."

Zeref's eyes widened when he heard Natsu's words, however he soon snapped out of it as he gave him a gentle smile.

"You finally called me that, Natsu." Zeref said with a smile as he sat down on the ground, "Have you...accepted yourself?"

"Mn." Natsu nodded before setting his gaze towards the sea once again, "I made some thinking, if those guys are really as strong as you said, then, unless I use everything I have, I won't be able to protect everyone that I love."

Zeref remained silent and just continue to look at his back.

"This Etherious form, my demon self, is also me, it is part of me," Natsu said causing Zeref to smile and closed his eyes, "However, I am still me, I am no E.N.D, I am me, the Fourth Master of Fairy Tail, Natsu Dragneel."

"That's good enough," Zeref said with a smile, "That form...what would you like to call it?"

Natsu thought for a moment before replying, "....Demonic Overlord."

"Nice, now you only need to take your book and rewrite it to severe your connection to me, I guess August or Irene can help you with that." Zeref said before continuing, "Your book is in the hands of Mardgeer(?) take it yourself and give it to me, you still have a score to settle with them, right?"

Natsu grinned as a terrifying amount of bloodlust surged out of his body, every living things near him flee in fear while some weaker ones slowly died, even plants and trees began to show signs of decaying.

"That's right, it was because of them. It was because of them that Ariel...." Natsu did not continue his words, he gazed at the sky before disappearing, leaving three words to Zeref.

"I'll destroy them."

I love colors. I'll say it over and over again: I love colors! They're beautiful. They're stimulating. Sometimes I even think they're magical. I love everything about them, from the power they have to evoke emotions to the subtle yet distinct differences they make in a work of art. But my favorite thing about colors is their symbolism, the way they can be used to hide secrets and hint at details of a bigger picture without drawing focus away from the story at hand.

It's simple enough to use colors in visual art, but what about in writing? Challenging as it may seem, I believe it is possible to create symbolism with words, such as when describing color schemes of character outfits and settings. Color symbolism has fascinated me for as long as I can remember, and while it would take an entire book (or series of books) to get into it all, I'd like to at least scratch the surface today with some of the basics I've picked up throughout my experience researching and implementing meaningful colors in my stories. You may want to consider these tips the next time you set a scene; they can help add a vivid new layer to your story! Enjoy!
Red – Red is a bold and passionate color, often symbolizing such strong ideas and images as courage, fire, power, and violence. It's a color that demands attention, which is why it's commonly used to signify danger. Use red for passionate or aggressive characters, or for any sort of intense scene, whether it's the heat of love or the violence of war.

￼Orange – Not quite passionate and not quite joyful, orange is a middle ground between red and yellow. It symbolizes energy and creativity, and is used in psychology to stimulate enthusiasm and determination. Use orange for adventurous or creative characters, or when you want to paint some vibrant warmth into a scene.

￼Yellow – Yellow is the two-sided coin of colors. On the one hand, it symbolizes happiness, optimism, sunshine, and friendship. On the other hand, it can also stand for cowardice, illness, hazard, and deceit. Golden shades represent wealth and luxury. Use yellow when you want to add hints of joy or caution to a scene. For the best effect, I recommend using yellow ambiguously, such as for characters who seem jubilant and optimistic on the outside but who are fearful or deceitful on the inside.

￼Green – Think of green and you're sure to picture beautiful scenes of nature, complete with lush vegetation as far as the eye can see. Indeed, green is the color of the environment, and it represents such ideas as youth, fertility, health, and rebirth. Abstractly, it also symbolizes jealousy and good luck. Use green for characters associated with natural themes such as environmentalism or the practice of healing, or to hint at fortune or envy in relationships.

￼Blue – Blue is my favorite color because it represents all my favorite things. It's a color that symbolizes intelligence, tranquility, trust, and loyalty. In nature, it's associated with the sky and the sea, and different shades from turquoise to navy can be used to signify sophistication, knowledge, and integrity. Use blue for characters who are more intellectual than emotional, and for settings fitting an atmosphere of calm and authority.

￼Purple – Purple is the color of royalty, and has long represented such themes as nobility, wisdom, honor, and extravagance. Being a relatively rare color in nature, it is often associated with mystery and magic. Lighter shades such as lavender also convey grace and elegance. Use purple as a motif for regal or arrogant characters, mysterious settings, and storylines brimming with fantasy.

￼Pink – A soft complement to the bold red, pink is the color that most famously signifies love and romance. Strongly associated with femininity, it represents tenderness, caring, and acceptance. I myself tend to associate the color pink with flowers. Use pink to add a soothing or feminine quality to a scene, or to signify elements of a romantic subplot.

￼Brown – Brown is well known as an earth tone, and as such tends to represent stability. Common ideas associated with the color brown include simplicity, comfort, and endurance. Use brown when you want to convey a sense of plainness or tenacity in a scene without having to resort to the blatant dullness of gray.

￼Gray – The dull middle ground between white and black, gray is most commonly associated with boredom and depression. On the positive side, it also stands for security, modesty, practicality, and reliability. Use gray for conservative characters or when you want to create a colorless air for a particular setting.

￼White – White is the international color of peace, and is often regarded as a symbol of light, purity, and faith. Some even go as far as to associate it with perfection. Note that white takes on a different meaning in Eastern cultures, where it's associated with death and mourning. Use white when you want to convey innocence in your characters and cleanliness in your settings, or when you want to create strong religious symbolism in your scenes.

￼Black – The exact opposite of white, black represents everything that its counterpart doesn't. Darkness, evil, and death are themes commonly associated with black, but it can also stand for austerity, formality, style, and sexuality. Arguably the most powerful color of all, black has a long history of symbolizing strongly opposed ideas on the spectrum of good and evil. Use black to convey depth in your characters or to add dark themes to a scene. For best results, combine it with other colors to create interesting contrasts of ideas in your stories.

After passing through the customs successfully, they bumped into the King of Hpakant at the foot of the mountain.
Previously, with the window shield between them, Li Du did not manage to take a good look at the young master who had been born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He looked to be in his forties. He wore shades and an expression of nonchalance, perhaps hoping that he could look more powerful.
Zhong Da Pao said, "Hmph, he's wearing that annoying look like his grandfather. Does he think that he can be like his grandfather this way?"
Then it dawned on Li Du. It turned out that the King of Hpakant was just trying to imitate his more powerful grandfather.
Seeing the bunch of them, the King went all out to put his game face on. It was only when he spotted Da Mao that he smiled and said, "Mr. Mao, we meet now."
Da Mao continued to act as if he was a deaf-mute. He said with a confused look, "Ahhh baa, ahh baa, ahh baa…"
The King was stumped. "Mr. Mao, what has happened to you? Does your throat hurt?"
Zhong Da Pao coughed and said, "Mr. Mao is a deaf-mute. Didn't you know?"
The King's face changed. He said coldly, "Deaf-mute? Based on what I know, Mr. Mao's mouth is working perfectly!"
Da Mao regretted this instantly. Why was he born with such a big mouth? He should have kept a lower profile.
As the deal had been sealed and the terms had been agreed on, there was not much use in keeping up the façade. Tulsi knew that. Hence, he interrupted the King, who evidently meant to question further. He said, "It's time for us to set off."
The big stone sale at Huika was not like those at public auctions. The event would take place for a long time until the public auction started. It would stay on and, in fact, it had already begun.
The King also changed his vehicle and got on a big motorcycle. It was unclear if he was trying to look superior, but he picked a specific model of motorcycle. It was one of those bikes with three wheels.
The motorcycle looked brand-new and was green all over. The King continued to ride on along the slope. He held the steering wheel with both hands and wore a look of seriousness.
After seeing that, Li Du could not help but be reminded of the TV series about the Japanese Occupation he had watched when he was younger. He recalled that the drama had a similar scene too. The King of Hpakant looked like those Japanese soldiers in the drama.
Huika was a huge field area. It produced a sizable amount of jade for the market. The place was enormous, enjoyed high footfall and was a lot busier than Damakan.
As usual, Zhong Da Pao gave them an introduction to the stones in the field. "The material from Huika has something unique, and that is wax. The raw stone is mainly made up of mountain rock. Usually, its skin is thin and the fogginess is low. Everyone likes..."
The wax skin of the jade stone was a layer of light green, smooth substance. Hence, it was nicknamed 'frogskin'.
The jade produced in most fields would have waxy skin. However, it was special in Huika. Here, the unrefined stone skin was often double-layered. The outer layer was a light red wax skin, and the inner layer would have the texture of either ripples or chicken skin.
There were many big fields in the Huika area. Hence, it was laid out similar to Damakan. Usually, those who were keen to purchase stones would visit a few of those fields.
However, there was an ongoing big stone sale right now. Hence, at this time of the year, the place would draw out a trading area around the selling area. It resembled the residential areas in other fields, where the flow of people and business was concentrated.
The trading area was just behind the door of the field. Like in some towns, there were stalls placed outside the door. After Li Du got off the bus, he saw a pile of stones with wax skin.
The color of the wax-skin stones was the messiest. A shop would offer stones of many different colors. There would be sandy yellow, brownish-gray, dark green and black amongst others.
Li Du had scanned the piles briefly. The shop peddled mainly greyish-green and greyish-black stones. Fewer were yellow or green. The latter two were more likely to produce good quality jade.
That was something that all the stone gamblers would know. The green stones were most expensive in Huika. That was because they were most likely to produce green jade. Li Du spotted a stone that was the size of a rice cooker. It was priced at 1.4 million US dollars.
They had already done their preparations to make Huika their last stop. It was not only because of the big stone sale. It was also because there were stones of much better quality here and the price was accordingly higher.
Looking at the stalls, the King of Hpakant pointed with his chin and said, "Let's start browsing from there. A few days ago, a stone from there revealed full green when cut. D*mn, that dude had made a profit of fifty million!"
His words sounded like commands. Liu Zi was instantly infuriated and turned around, ready to lash out.
Li Du was quick to grab his shoulder. He said, "There is indeed some good material there. Bring Da Mao over and start analyzing them. I feel that a few of these stones are pretty decent."

Zhong Da Pao went over. The King's face darkened and he said, "You guys can fork out the capital first. In any case, we'd be making money eventually."
Hearing that, Li Du was shocked. Was that dude planning to reap the rewards without investing a cent? He had some nerve!
Zhong Da Pao did not wait any longer. He said fiercely, "Screw you, if you have money, bring it here. If not, let's go our separate ways!"
The King laughed coolly, "Go our separate ways? That's a good one. Never thought that Master Pao would be so brave. Where's your gratitude?"
Zhong Da Pao did not want to continue to talk to him. He turned to Tulsi and said, "We have agreed on this during the discussion. We would split the investment. If you guys are not going to do that, you have broken the agreement. That has nothing to do with me."
Tulsi gave the King a look. Then, the King removed his shades, revealing his angry eyes. He could not endure Zhong Da Pao's attitude. Hence, he whipped out a card and passed it to Zhong Da Pao. He said, "There's forty million here, use this first."
After getting the money, Li Du asked the stall owner, "Discounting those with the surface material still on, how much would the stone cost?"
The owner asked, "You don't want those with the surface material intact? Look at the high quality of the material I have. Look at how bright the head of the jade is. There must be a lot of good jade hidden in them."
Li Du replied, "You can keep those with the hidden jade. But these stones, all of them, how much are they?"
The owner thought for a while and then said, "Hmm, eleven million."
Li Du threw out his ATM card and said, "Ten million, and I'll take all of them."

Storage auctions, old goods trade, re-estate sales and gold-digging. But the truth is, if one wants to make money, then the supreme way is through searching for the legendary treasures. 
Holding the fort, there’s an ocelot, a wolf, and an Andes condor. At the side, there’s a loyal hound, an irascible ape, and an African honey badger. Who said that you can only rely on humans when treasure hunting?! 

"Students," says Miss Poppy, sitting her tight-jeaned buttocks on the teacher's desk, "You have learned much on our continent's, our empire's, and each of your nations' history, and now; the time to have you all assessed has almost come," she continues, her arms propping around her bosom, substantializing her cleavage, "so I must ask – are you all prepared for the undertaking?"

Hands go up randomly, one by one; some students with hesitance obvious on their faces. When half of the almost thirty students are in, it stops; Kinn excluded, of course. In a seat by the window, he idles, glancing out at serene grasslands, lost in his own world of peculiar thoughts. Miss Poppy and her words were not in his realm of cognizance.

Kinn is brainstorming the images instilled in his mind which by every minute makes him question reality. To him, his behavioral deviances are as clear as day: the unexplainable shifts in his attitude and demeanor are obvious. After all, he did advise Nish regarding her religious, romantic dichotomy. Something he has never done before though he wanted to.

"What about the rest of you?" Miss Poppy says, "What are you all waiting for? The exams sure won't wait for you."

Some students give out embarrassed smiles while few others sneer in ridicule. "Miss, it's only history – events of the to-be-forgotten past – no purpose in learning it at all. I mean when has lingering on the past ever done good?"

"You mean the misled dogmatists and bigots. We don't study the past to conserve our predecessors' old and contemptible beliefs. We do it to learn from them and to do better than them."

Meanwhile, as Kinn gazes outside, a slight gray crack emerges on the sky, drawing his eyes as they squint in confusion. "Huh," he mutters, confounded by the eerie fissure in the sky. But then, with a crack like a hatching egg, the fissure enlarges, rooting across the expanse, overtaking the visible sky.

And before Kinn could consider the scene, the sky is altered to a pale shade of gray and the fields of vivid grass is now an endless desert of grim, gray sand, drifting about with ethereal winds. So clear and definite. Amidst the baffling sight, he sees a few humanoid figures of a translucent white hovering from and to different directions.

Kinn leans back with surprise, in turn, descrying his former classroom where instead of students, books, tables, chairs, and walls, he finds shining amorphous forms of bright light evenly distributed and mantled, humanlike, faceless, black figures floating by each.

"The hell?" Kinn blurts as he jolts back, and with a notion of falling, he hits solid ground. But when he eases and looks beneath him, he sees nothing solid. He had hit mid-air and the desert lies meters below him coupled with more white lights juxtaposed with ghastly black-cloaked figures. "T-This can't be real…"

"Mr. Kinn, this is quite real…" Miss Poppy's voice intervenes.

At her sound, Kinn jerks his head, and the world promptly reverts back to normal, tiled floor, wooden tables, and white-painted walls with gloating students, suppressing their arising laughter. Just to be sure, Kinn scans around to a few times and confirms it. The gray desert is gone, abandoning him in the infamy of acting out in class.

"Now, if you're done with whatever it is that you are doing, Mr. Kinn, would you mind settling down?"

As usual, Kinn feels shame and abashment welling up within, his heartbeat fastening, making him wish if he would disappear there and then; but then something else happens. A new and different quality, blooms as well, slowly but thoroughly expunging the notion of shame while he is left aware of his mind's sudden assuage. He picks up his chair and sits down quietly, gulping at the idea of his mind calming itself down.

"So, Mr. Kinn, how much of the syllabus have you absorbed?" Miss Poppy asks in a patronizing tone, "To which chapter of the textbook?"

Getting questioned in class is one of Kinn's greatest fears, and Miss Poppy has always felt the need to exploit this weakness. This is so as Kinn is the child of his mother whom Miss Poppy shares a one-sided rivalry with.

Anyhow, after a brief moment, Kinn says, "the last chapter."

What comes next is the sound of riling laughter. "Like hell you have," a boy goes, "I bet he's never even gone through the book to know that we share the same textbook for two years; half the book a year. And last half is for the next year…"

"Yea, like what the hell," a girl adds, and soon the rest of the class explodes into hysteria.

"Enough, everyone!" Miss Poppy shouts and calms the students before one of them drops dead. "As for you, Mr. Kinn, you shouldn't lie about such petty things. There is no shame in ignorance. Actually, there is; but at least don't lie when you're not very good at it." Her heartfelt words only livened the hysterical students.

Frankly, such a wishful claim coming from a dumb joke like Kinn, whom everyone thinks is boneheaded, sounded jocular. No one will believe such a truth. His image as a blockhead is a much steeper mountain.

Kinn's first thought is to let them see him as a dumb retard as they do. Not that he is as usual afraid to stand up for himself, but that he doesn't consider their opinions very important. After all, playing dumb has been helpful in waiving trouble. But… his subconscious outsmarts him.

"I wasn't lying," he says, "My mother, back when she was a maiden, she used to be a history professor here in IAL, and you were a colleague of hers. And after she settled down, she habitually taught it all to me from the same textbooks IAL currently uses. You see, a bedtime story narrated by a historian is the real deal… Being a mother yourself you would know this yourself too, right, Miss Poppy?"

"I do, indeed. But need I remind you that you have been failing all examinations so far, not once have you scored past the passing grade in my class, nor in any other class." Miss Poppy smirks, and the students join in. "And I'm certain IAL textbooks are private properties of the academy and are exclusive to the academy. But, as you have said, your mother not only smuggled the books outside, she practiced it illegally. Do you know how big a crime that is?"

"It's not a crime from what I know. The school insisted she took all the materials, they didn't want to impede nor desert someone as capable as her. Moreover, she literally had a hand in writing some of the chapters in the original book. If you still think my mother has committed some crime, please do consult the headmaster." Kinn continues, "And about the flunked exams, you said I never got past the passing grade, right? That's true. But the thought why I always score one mark less than the passing grade never crossed your mind? Miss Poppy, one can only make something so blatant."

By the end of Kinn's words, the classroom quiets with faces of disbelief. His compelling speech was too believable to believe. As the faces turn to Miss Poppy, anticipating a strong rebuttal, she falters embarrassed and at a loss of words. Lucky for everyone, before things could get any more awkward, the bell chimes announcing the end of the class.

Kinn bags his books and strides out of class, leaving it looking at him in awe. "Wew, that felt great." Kinn chuckles out of the satisfaction received from venting his inner self. Withholding his mind isn't as great as letting it out. Though staying off Nulod's way had been Kinn's goal, what he just did is the exact opposite. Yet he felt great and peaceful. Not scared or fearful.

Then his smile falls off his face when he remembers the uncanny world of gray; so vivid and lucid that calling it a hallucination would be deranged. Whatever that was, it is unreal, to the point that reality is hugging unreality. The start point of it all is the memories in his head of Nulod and his goons.

Back in the canteen to eat lunch, Kinn meets Nish sitting at a table all alone, without her lover or any food. Kinn queues in line, looks through the varieties of untested but delicious-looking food, but out of habit only fetches himself his usual: two sandwiches and a plate of rice for the saddened Nish.

"So?" Kinn sits down.

"He's avoiding me," Nish sighs, "So annoying…"

This isn't new for them, and it's best to let them sort it out themselves like they always do, and also to let it repeat like it always does. When passion antagonizes devotion, one or the other must give in.

"Oh, Nish…" speaking of devotion, the weirdest thought pops in Kinn's head. "I have a question that's been bugging me. It's about the Linte. You said you byhearted the whole thing, right?"

"Yep, I did. Every word." According to Nish, in her household, it is compulsory to by heart the whole Book of God by the age of ten-- makes them closer to God or they say. But to Kinn, it sounds like tormenting one's childhood, wasting potential mental capacity on useless, but equally traumatizing contexts. A book that explicitly talks of all human extremities and advocates some of it; pedophilia, incest, necrophilia, slavery, and whatnot. Nish obviously grew up fine and doesn't think there's anything wrong with her family. "Ask anything," she says.

"There's a verse about purgatory, right, the gray plain where something black looks over something white… What was it? Can you recite that one?"

"Hmm… Which one is— Oh yes… I remember: [Do not fear, for you are not alone. I, the almighty and all powerful, have made an aridness of gray and its shades where your pure and luminous souls can wander afloat, and I the all-good and far-seeing, have made grim, selfless keepers to look over your fragilities. Black, nether beings who oversee you in life and convey you upon death; to heaven or hell.] Is that it?"

Kinn's jaw drops, a chunk of a sandwich as well. The striking resemblance, or rather, the irrefutable likeness to his vision in class has him alarmed. The verse which a logical person, a disbeliever like him, considers nothing but baseless rambling and artful creativity sounds less dumb now that it has become more relatable. Either Kinn is going crazy, and his mind is playing games with him, or he was ignorant and is now discovering the truth. He still finds the former more convincing.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Nish nudges him out of thoughts. "Why'd you ask for that verse?"

"Nothing really… Just a hunch…"

Kinn continues to eat while the questions gobble down the logical side of his brain. When something so powerfully refutes the foundations of a critical thinker's beliefs it is hard to not critically think about it. Knowledge is his passion and right now, he feels dumber than those that don't even contemplate.

"Hey!" Lucas pops out of nowhere and sits beside him, giving Nish no heed. "Yet again you've struck the headlines of gossip. You are full of surprises, man. But is it true, though? Have you really been flunking the tests on purpose?"

"If you were a friend of his, you'd know that already," Nish interrupts, rolling her eyes.

As if deaf to her words, Lucas continues, "and yea. Your crush's brother a.k.a. the next emperor summons you. He awaits your presence by the tree outside. And It seemed kinda urgent."

"OK." Kinn wonders what Leon, the sister-lover, has to say. Probably, the same as usual, 'Stay away from me and my sister, you lowly princeling!' But, he has been away from Lenna for some time now, so that couldn't be the case.

When Kinn exits the canteen, leaving the silently quarreling couple alone, he sees Leon standing under the shade of the only tree on field, staring at him with imperious eyes.

"What took you so long, you helpless broomstick?" Running a hand through his cool blonde-hair, Leon furrows his brows. "You have the gumption to make me, the heir to the throne, wait? What audacity." Getting no reply from Kinn, who has no words for the heir's pretentious might, Leon shuts up, his expression changes from arrogance to nervousness. "Umm… So, I wanna talk about Lenna," his voice stutters.

"What about her?" Kinn panics, his heart accelerating. The worry on Leon's face hints to something ominous. "Did something happen to her? What happened to her?"

"Umm… Father betrothed her over to Nulod," Leon's face hangs. "by his father's request."

"What?" Incensed, Kinn has the urge to grab Leon's collar and demand answers. Nulod, the worst of all men, whom Lenna hates the most, is to be her husband by her father's decision. "Why the hell would he do that? Is he fucking crazy!" Kinn screams, agitated.

"Be careful what you say," Leon frowns, "he still is the emperor and my father."

"When it comes to Lenna, he isn't a very good father, is he?"

"I didn't ask for your speculation. The only thing I want from you is the only thing you're good at– lifting her spirit." Leon continues, his eyes starting to water, "I tried myself, but she hates me; she blames me for this, she blames me for father's unfairness."

The about-to-be emperor is about to cry as his obsessive love for his sister bursts out of his pretension. Kinn, no matter how sad he is, never wept. In empathy for the kind-hearted brother, Kinn steps closer and wraps his arms around Leon, giving him a shoulder to weep on. "She doesn't hate or blame you; she is just a bit jealous and envious, and she only hates herself for feeling that way."

"Really? You think so?" sobbing, Leon mutters.

"I know so," Kinn assures, he knows her more than he knows himself.

"Thanks..."

"Umm… you might wanna tone this down a bit." Kinn notices the hundreds of eyes placed on them. "Everyone's watching."

"What?"
