My name is Zachariah Wayne and this is my story.


This story is a slow burn. i want to take my time to expand and encompass my favorite characters and stories all while trying to keep a very congruent and encompassing story. 

If you are a batman fan then you might really like this. i try to stay true to the batman mythos.

The Shadow has a long and storied history. Over the course of the character's radio and publishing history, The Shadow became an American icon in his own right, and was even the inspiration for Batman, V for Vendetta, as well as being cited as a strong influence on the evolution of comic book heroes in general. 

The Shadow has many ties to DC, even though the character was published by many different companies at different points in history.  Superman co-creator Jerry Siegel, and Lester Dent (who wrote the Doc Savage stories) both wrote stories for The Shadow, among others.

DC Comics first published a Shadow series in the mid 1970's. An aging Shadow also appeared in Batman comics in which it is revealed that (in-universe) The Shadow was Batman's "biggest inspiration", as well as the surprising facts that The Shadow saved a young Bruce Wayne as a boy, and that The Shadow knows who Batman is, but the secret is safe with him. Batman also referenced The Shadow when he was once disguised as a night janitor at a police station, a method which The Shadow often used to obtain access to police records in his day. 

Another couple of DC published Shadow series was released in the 80's, and there was one more in the 90's. The Shadow also made a few cameo's in other comics in the 90's. 

This fanfic blends the radio version with the novel and comic book version. Certain RPG systems have been used to provide stats for the character to make tracking of changes easier. This interlude does not cover the many other Shadow comics, novels, pulps, and even movies that have been published over the years.

The Living Shadow, more commonly known as simply The Shadow, is whispered about but seldom seen, feared and mysterious, but frighteningly effective once involved. The Shadow has worked with famous figures such as Doc Savage and Batman, and is even cited by Batman as a source of inspiration and a model figure. 

Decades have passed and nothing as been seen or heard of The Shadow. Criminals have forgotten the chilling whisper in the dark, "The weed of crime bears bitter fruit!" Nor do they recall the frightening laughter in the dead of night. 

But soon the streets will again be haunted, the criminals stalked, evil pruned. 

Who knows what evil lurks in the heart? The Shadow knows!

DC FanFic Writing Contest

Noah, Alan, Zach and Ryan left their home planet Earth aboard a space shuttle launched from Aven, their hometown. Once in space, the children were victims of an accident and they were thrown out of the shuttle into outer space. They, however, reached a dimension, which proved to be the fulfilment of their dreams. There, they made the discovery of the century – the people featuring as characters in comics and cartoons exist. The first person they met in Nootra, city of superheroes, was Denver, the Last Dinosaur. Denver and his companions, Wally, Shades, Jeremy and Mario, agreed to help them find their way back home. The Green Dino Band disguised the Earthlings as four football players of Nootra. Zach was cloned as Cesare, Alan as Yann, Noah as Benjamin and Ryan as Papan. And so they outsmarted the vigilante Batman and entered the city. 
Although nearly unmasked by Hawkeye and his daughter Rain, things rather went well for them and they visited some neighbourhoods of Westside Nootra. They had real trouble when the real Cesare and Yann met them on the streets. These were angry that their images were used for the cloning. Cesare and Yann opposed Zach and Ryan and wanted to fight them. Noah watched the unfortunate scene and was sorry. Her friends were about to fight her football heroes. Now, a few minutes before this scene took place, the real Benjamin and the real Papan with Eric, Lucas, Roberto, Bruno, Ach, Voltz and other teammates of Nootra's Wings were going back to the city after their training. They reached the city gates and thought of teasing Batman to chase the seriousness away from him. 
Ach: "Hello bat head; what's up? Are you still at this boring thing you call a job?"
Lucas: "I wouldn't want to be in your place. You stand here for hours doing nothing while we're having all the fun. You should come play with us sometimes." 
Batman: "How can your training be fun? You're in the final and you shouldn't take it lightly, children."
Benjamin: "We're only doing the work we love, that's why it's so much fun. We want you to join us at our next session."
Voltz: "Can Batman play football? Superheroes are hopeless when it comes to playing football."
Bruno: "They may be superheroes, but they stand no chance against me when I'm controlling a ball."
Batman: "Don't underestimate me, children. There are a lot of things I can do. I used to play with some good old friends when I was your age."
Roberto: "Batman, a kid? You must be joking. I bet you he appeared in the world exactly as he is now."
Voltz: "Yeah, because if ever he had been a child, it would be a Batkid or something; all dressed up in his batsuit ready to fight crime."
Roberto: "Yeah; and he talked of friends. Who would want to be friends with a guy whose attitude drives everyone away?"
Bruno: "An unwelcoming aura, you mean."
Eric: "That's not true. Batman has many friends in the city. He's in the Justice League[1] and his teammates are his friends."
Bruno: "The 'just us league', you meant."
Ach: "What a team! It comprises only the mightiest among the mighty. They're unbeatable, except for the uncertain."
Batman: "And the uncertain always occurs, Ach. Thanks for taking my defence, Eric though having friends isn't my priority. My main concern is to protect Nootra against any internal or external threat. The rest doesn't matter."
Benjamin: "I disagree with you there, Day Knight. The rest is what makes the former possible. You can't protect the city if you don't care about its people."
Eric: "You mentioned some friends of yours. It's obvious they're the ones because of whom you're a fighter. To me, everything is worthless if it is not done out of love for people."
Lucas: "Look at me, batty; I play football not only for myself, but for my friends as well. I used to play alone, but I wasn't happy. It's great fun when we play together as a team. You're in the JL and you surely know what I'm talking about."
Ach: "If you think Batman doesn't know what friendship in a team is, then you're one ignorant Nootran. The Caped Champion is the brain behind the Justice League and most of the teams of NSF."
Papan interrupted the flow of discussion to suit his taste.
Papan: "You guys are too boring with all this reasoning. We won't get anywhere if you keep talking so seriously."
Roberto: "Papan has a point. Have you been with people who act as if everything was 'don't joke with this subject; it's a delicate issue'?" 
Voltz: "They're boring to tears."
Papan: "Check this one, guys. Batman looks like he hasn't slept for days. He does have a nasty face there. Did you know he chose to be a bat so as to stay up late and his parents wouldn't scold him for that? It doesn't surprise me coming from him. Look; he's almost drunk tired judging from his eyes. Bats, what do you mean staying up late again when you're now working in the day?"
Batman: "Only you can make such comments, Papan. You can't see my face; how can you say anything about my look?"
Eric: "Speaking of your look, Batman, if you want people to come any closer, try changing your costume. You won't become popular dressed like that with those white eyes that scare many."
Bruno: "It's an outrage. My little brother had a nightmare after seeing you. NSF should know better than posting you here to frighten kids."
Lucas: "Hahaha. Frighten troublemakers like your little brother. Slow down, boys; you're too hard on the guy. I think he's pretty cool as he is. Don't mind them, bats. I like your style and your costume is great. You're doing a good job, agent."
Benjamin: "I don't understand why you would rather guard the city during the day whereas you're ten times more efficient at night. You did it so well before you became the Bright Knight."
Batman: "It was only last month I stopped being the Dark Knight. Things have changed since then and I must adapt to the current situation."
Papan: "Don't bother trying to understand him, Benjamin. Everyone in Westside knows Batman spends the night partying with some strange company. That's why he's ineffective during the day. Listen to a friend's advice, bats; quit this job or someday someone will get hurt because of your lack of vigilance."
Batman: "Papan talks responsibility? Your advice must be in the reflexive mode. Wait a minute; didn't I hear you a few hours ago say something about keeping your mouth shut?" 
Papan: "Me, silent? I'm so disappointed. I thought you knew me better than this, vigilante. I can't keep quiet as long as you have that grave look on your face. When you let your hair down, then I'll spare you." 
Batman: "If it wasn't you, who then entered the city with Denver? Impostors!" 
Papan: "You guys see what I was saying just now?"
Batman called Nootra Security Forces with his communicator immediately.
Batman: "Batman to J'onn:[2] come in. I have a case of intruders here. They're four of them disguised as Benjamin, Papan, Cesare and Yann and they're with Denver and his four companions." 
J'onn J'onzz (through comm.): "Copy that. I'm sending agents right away. J'onn out." 
J'onn J'onzz dispatched two heroes to apprehend the intruders. Once these received the coordinates, they left NSF Central and started the hunt. It took them only a few minutes to find the Earthlings whom Cesare and Yann blocked on the way. The agents landed and prevented Yann and Ryan, on the one hand, and Cesare and Zach, on the other, from fighting each other. 
Noah: "Look up in the sky; it's Superman,[3] the prototype superhero on Earth." 
Alan: "You shouldn't be so excited about him, Noah. I fear his friend the bat realized his mistake and sent him here to arrest us."
Superman: "So you're intruders from Earth? Still, it's good to see that everybody knows me, even on Earth."
Captain Nootra: "What about me? I'm Captain Nootra yet everybody is only talking about Superman." 
Cesare wasn't happy that the NSF agents had interfered in his affairs, and so he warned them.
Cesare: "No way, costumed men. You won't stop me from correcting this punk." 
Captain Nootra: "O yes, we will. Kid, you can't take issues into your own hands. We're here for that."
Cesare: "Call me kid again and I'll smash you with my football." 
Captain Nootra: "This is no way to talk to an elder and less of all to Captain Nootra. What have I done to deserve such scorn from my citizens?"
Mario: "Your shoes are a mess. If I were you, Cap, I'd get myself new ones."
Jeremy: "Stop provoking him, Mario; you'll only make him angrier."
Wally: "Or more depressed. Look; he's already complaining to Superman."
Captain Nootra: "Is that true, Superman? And you didn't say anything about my shoes."
Superman: "There's nothing wrong with them. They're like mine, see? I can't believe you fall for every criticism."
Captain Nootra: "You can talk since you're Superman and no one criticizes you. Even people from an unknown planet have you as prototype superhero. But after we're done here, I'll have my designer make me new shoes."
Shades: "Don't change anything, Cap; Mario was only teasing. You're our guardian and we're proud of you. Can we go now with our friends?"
Cesare: "Not until I've finished with the impostor. Get out of my way, super freak."
Superman: "One doesn't need special faculties to see that you're the real Cesare. You and Yann will leave these children to us. They're henceforth in the custody of Nootra Security Forces." 
Superman used a digital gear on the Earthlings and unmasked them. Once the children regained their real appearances, the agents immobilized their hands with some metallic gear. Denver and his companions tried to explain themselves, but the security agents wouldn't listen. 
Captain Nootra: "Sorry, friends; I'm not keen on arresting children, but orders are orders, (aside) especially when they indirectly come from the bat. Rest assured though. Your buddies are coming back to you if they're found to be of no threat to Nootra."
Now it happened that before Superman and Captain Nootra took the Earthlings away, a sword stretched out of nowhere and shattered the four metallic objects fastening the Earthlings' hands. To the horror of the agents yet to the jubilation of the children, Trunks, the son of Vegeta the Saiyan, appeared. Superman and Captain Nootra then realized the odds had changed.
Wally: "Whoa. Trunks the Saiyan has come to the rescue."
Mario: "Things are beginning to get more interesting now."
Captain Nootra: "Trunks, you have no right to meddle here." 
Superman: "When he has that look on his face, it tells me he won't listen to anyone. I'm expected at my mom's birthday party and I don't intend to waste time here. Cap, let's finish this fast."
Captain Nootra: "No. You don't want us to do it against Trunks? He's only a kid. And we seem to not be in harmony these last days."
Superman: "There are no arch super villains in the city. If we don't do it every time we fight, we'll never do it since you don't fight out of Nootra. Trust me, Cap; it's going to be fun."
Captain Nootra: "Okay."
Superman and Captain Nootra merged and the result was colossal. It was the creation of a mighty being, who had both the powers of Captain Nootra and Superman. What followed was a spectacular confrontation between Trunks and Super-Nootra.
Alan: "Huge! Fusion also exists here. I used to wonder how such a thing could be possible, but now I know."
Shades: "These men are crazy. Why do they merge their powers against an adversary like Trunks?"
Jeremy: "Superman spoke of a party he has to attend. He wouldn't waste time with Trunks that's why he wants to finish it fast."
Shades: "I heard what he said, Jeremy. What I meant is that Superman and Captain Nootra are grown-ups and each of them is superior to Trunks. Trunks is good, but they'll have him like a beginner."
Mario: "Nonsense Shades. Trunks can take down the two of them in a single round. You underestimate the power of Saiyans. These guys are born fighters."
Jeremy: "It's not logical, Mario. Trunks is no match for Super-Nootra."
Ryan: "The illogical becomes actuality when you believe. Our being here is illogical; cartoons existing is illogical. Trunks came to our rescue, let's give him a hand."
Shades: "You must be nuts thinking you can do a thing to Superman and Captain Nootra combined. It's Super-Nootra we're talking about."
Ryan: "I believe for the manifestation of the impossible. None is invincible except one, and it is by faith in Him that I do everything. If we come together, with Denver's strength, our determination and my faith, we'll help Trunks out."
Wally: "Et comment. I've always wanted to walk on Superman's boot."
Mario: "Quite ordinary, Wally; I've seen kids do that way too often. What would be something is to pinch the nose of Cap. O boy, I'm so going to enjoy this. What are we waiting for?"
Jeremy: "But Denver can't stand violence."
Zach: "Denver, we must rescue Trunks. We're the good guys."
Denver agreed to join his friends, but Noah was being reluctant.
Noah: "You want me to attack Superman? How could you possibly ask me to do such a thing? What if he hates me afterwards? He might be angry with me and I wouldn't be able to live with that."
Alan: "If your Superman is as heartless as this one, he doesn't deserve your love."
Noah: "That doesn't matter. What matters is that I love him."
Ryan: "All is settled then. You can attack him knowing you have a good reason for doing so, without worrying whether he might hate you or not." 
Zach: "What is important here, Noah? Is it that you're convinced you're right or what he might think about you?"
Noah: "Say no more, guys; I got your point. Everything my companions are on, I'm also game for it."
Shades: "Here we go. Mission Nootra 4West N3S7. Objective: Rescue Trunks. Target: Super-Nootra. Time: 14H 75. Action: Everyone charge anyhow you can."
Zach: "Everyone charge anyhow you can? That isn't strategic, Shades. All the same: go, go, go."
The Earthlings and their new friends were determined to help Trunks, but that wasn't counting what Cesare and Yann had in mind. Before they took any action against Super-Nootra, Cesare and Yann outstripped them. These two were enraged because of Trunks and Super-Nootra's intrusion in their intended fight against Zach and Ryan, and so they decided to teach a lesson to the heroes. 
Cesare: "How mean! Why should these three prevent us from handling the usurpers?" 
Yann: "Let's show them they have no right to mess with us." 
Cesare and Yann had their footballs with them and each played with his ball and as they did so, the balls were filled with power. After taking a deep breath, Yann kicked his ball high in the air and used his right foot and Cesare used his left, to shoot Cesare's ball together and violently at Super-Nootra. The ball became a fire mass and hit the superheroes head-on.  Cesare's ball put Super-Nootra down and when Trunks turned around to see what happened, he received Yann's ball in the face. These violent shots knocked out the agents and Saiyan and they lost consciousness. The effect of the fusion ceased and Super-Nootra was gone. What remained was Superman and Captain Nootra caught in oblivion. Then Cesare and Yann fled and disappeared in the horizon.
Someone made his entrance when Super-Nootra and Trunks were down. The Shredder![4] He took advantage of the chaos in the streets to capture Denver. But the children couldn't let this happen.
Noah, Wally: "Somebody save Denver!" 
Zach: "Allow me. Friends, are you with me?" 
Alan: "Count me in. Shredder will be a piece of cake." 
Mario: "Serve the same thing here, Alan."
Shades: "Let's crush Shredder and compensate for the loss of Super-Nootra."
Zach, Alan, Ryan, Mario, Shades, Jeremy and Wally attacked the Shredder. They all charged at him together, some with sticks in their hands. It was a bungle and no one saw whom he brawled. Shredder, however, sneaked out of the fray. He looked at them at a distance and burst out laughing. The children quickly realized they were fighting each other.
Shredder: "You kids think you can stop me? I am the Shredder. Why don't you go play with your toys before somebody gets hurt?" 
Ryan: "The only one who will get hurt here is you, Shredder. Free Denver right away and we could think of sparing you." 
Shredder: "Don't make me laugh again. Seriously, I have no time to play with kids." 
Shredder had something with him - a soporific gas. He wore a mask, opened the bottle and tossed it in the direction of the children. The smoke drowsed the children and they subsequently fell into deep sleep. Shredder tied up Denver and forced him to walk to his vehicle. What the Shredder didn't know was that the Ninja Turtles were right behind him.
Raphael: "Hey shred head, how about facing someone your size?" 
Shredder: "The Turtles! You won't dispossess me of my loot." 
Leonardo: "What are you talking about? Denver isn't yours. Release him or we'll finish you this time around."
Shredder: "Seriously, Leonardo; do you think I'll listen to you when not even your brothers do? It's time you stopped giving me useless orders."
Leonardo: "Quit playing ugly if you don't want to be addressed as such. This is your last chance to surrender."
Michelangelo: "No one attacks my lovely green dino and goes unharmed." 
Donatello: "Mikey, I thought it was the grey one your favourite."
Raphael: "Never mind, Donnie. Whether it's the red or the pink one, the good thing is there's going to be some action in the air, and that's just what I needed to get warmed up before the evening practice."
Michelangelo: "And I know one who will get warmed down."
Shredder: "I know only four who will be destroyed in the next minutes. Bebop, Rocksteady, wipe them out." 
Bebop and Rocksteady, two of Shredder's mutants, stepped in and stood as the opponents of the Turtles.
Donatello: "He sends Bebop and Rocksteady to fight us? The Shredder is irretrievable. He should have known those two don't weigh against us." 
Raphael: "Is it too much to ask that you have respect for your opponents and give us less worthless fighters? We'll be done with two in no time and guess what; we'll be coming for you, Saki."
Shredder: "Joke as you wish since you love to. I'm letting go this dinosaur for nothing." 
Leonardo: "Enough talk. Show me what you have, villain." 
Raphael: "Well done, fearless leader. Shredder and Co., get ready to take a beating from the Ninja Turtles."[5]

Catapulted to another world, Another Dimension. Four teens secretly board a spaceship to the world of their dreams. An accident brings them to Nootra, city of superheroes. NSF considers them alien intruders and an unexpected turn has them facing the Frightful Forest. An old enemy becomes an ally. Firelord Zota seeks to wage war on his neighbors. Camp Aegels opposes him with its mightiest fighters and the world may still have a light that gleams.

"Hahahahahahahahaha!"
"Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!"
Their laughter echoed in the room for a few moments.
After a while, Lucas' voice quieted down.
"Haha...I gotta say...I was worried there for a second."
"...Huh?"
The Batman who laughed stopped laughing.
Lucas sighed and shook his head.
"I mean, I don't even know why I was worried. I guess I kinda included Joker as a Big Bad that's on the same level as Darkseid or the Anti-monitor in my head...but in the end, he's just a guy with toxins in his body."
In his past life, if you think of a DC villain, one would definitely think of Joker. Maybe not all people think of him at first, but he is definitely one the most iconic villains in the DC Comics.
In fact, if you mention the likes of Darkseid, Anti-Monitor, Barbatos...not a lot of people will recognize them. Only those who are well informed and had read the comics would know.
As for others, they would only think of the animated series, movies, or TV series.
Joker was the most...remembered villain when one thinks of Batman. He's the Big Bad of Batman so to speak. So to Lucas, he had unconsciously thought of him as 'equal' to the other Big Bads like Darkseid.
Although Lucas had defeated Joker with much ease, this thought still remained in his mind.
So when he heard that Joker had a toxin in his system that would basically 'turn' someone into him, Lucas thought this is one of the 'absolute' facts in the comics.
The same 'absolute' facts like Darkseid having Omega energy...or Barry Allen having the Speed Force...these kinds of 'absolute' facts that one would read in the comics.
But in the end, toxins are just toxins. Actually, it would've been even more confusing if it had worked on Lucas who was already considered a God.
Be it the Omega Energy, the Star Energy, the Speed Force, God power, Dark Magic, Fate Magic...all these inside Lucas' body are more than enough to get rid of such poison.
Back then, he could feel something unknown had indeed tried to seep into his body but...well, Lucas had already eliminated it.
Eliminating a virus like this was simply...as easy as breathing.
At the beginning, Lucas was worried that he would really go insane. But looking at it now, his worries were not needed.
The thought of it made Lucas laugh out loud at his own worries.
Having had enough of this farce, Lucas lightly tugged on his restraints and broke free.
"Wh-!?"
Lucas patted the dust on his pants and shoulders as he started to crack the bones on his neck.
Grinning, he turned towards the fake Batman.
"Now then. I've let you have your fun. It's my turn."
…
"Lucas!"
The doors swung open and revealed a couple of figures. Batman and the rest had arrived.
As they appeared in the room, they saw Lucas standing in the middle, unscathe.
On the ground laid a few bodies.
Joker, the other Batman, and the Robins.
"This…"
Lucas didn't look at them yet as he stood before the fake Batman.
"Haha...ha…"
Even until this moment, that Batman was still grinning...laughing.
He coughed out blood as he spoke.
"You...you aren't supposed to exist...but no matter...I may have failed...but 'he' will still send more."
"Who's he?"
Lucas asked.
The Batman who laughed uttered in his last breath.
"Bar...ba...tos…"
"..."
Lucas sighed.
Anti-monitor hasn't even appeared yet. And there seems to be another one coming on its way?
Batman fell silent for a moment before asking.
"...You killed them?"
"Hm? Ah, it was this guy who killed Joker over there. It seems he did it to unleash the toxins in his body and turn me into the next Joker...as for them, they're still alive. He's just being overly dramatic."
"Hah?"
Lucas lightly kicked the other Batman in annoyance.
Why does this guy have to be so dramatic? He even coughed up blood! I didn't hit him that hard!
Lucas shook his head.
With his powers, although it is indeed easy to kill someone, it's also easy to simply defeat them unconscious.
Lucas doesn't feel like killing this guy so simply. After all, they needed to learn more.
Where did he come from? How did he get here? Who's Barbatos?
Actually, Lucas wasn't that much of a comic book reader in his past life. He doesn't know all the details.
All he knew about Barbatos was that he's some kind of Bat God.
When he heard about it, Lucas didn't really think much about it.
Seriously, what the heck is a Bat God!? He's like...the God of all Bats? What's the big deal!?
But then again, seeing as how this supposed Bat God had sent this guy here, Lucas knew there should be something else.
Nightwing walked over to the unconscious Robins and frowned.
"They're indeed alive, but...what the heck are these supposed to be?"
"Oh, I think that one is you in another world."
"Ugh…you gotta be shitting me..."
"I mean, the collars have name tags so…"
"..."
Batgirl looked around and sighed.
"Phew, there's no version of me…"
"..."
Batman sighed.
"Alright. Take them all into custody...we're going to have to question these guys."
"What about Joker?"
Robin asked.
"...I'll deal with it."
"...Alright."
Lucas nodded and turned to the rest.
"Come on, let's go."
The Bat family looked at each other as they sighed and left the room, leaving Batman alone with Joker's corpse.
Batman didn't say anything as he stood there, unmoving. Only quietly staring at Joker's body.
Outside, Lucas and the rest had moved the prisoners to the underground prison in Mount Justice.
By the time they settled the new inmates, Batman had already arrived there as well.
Lucas looked at him and asked.
"All good?"
"I'm fine. How's the prisoners?"
"Still sleeping like a baby."
"I see…"
"Right, that guy said that many more will come here...I guess I should prepare."
"Hm?"
Lucas smiled and walked out as he flew in the air above Mount Justice.
He closed his eyes and started to chant in an unknown language.
This was something that he had been working on for the past couple of years as he consulted other magicians in the multiverse.
The spell itself is more or less complete. It just needs testing.
Now was the time to do so.
Behind Lucas, a white transparent symbol of Fate appeared while surrounded by a magic circle. Then, an Omega symbol formed as it overlapped the Fate symbol.
Finally, a lantern symbol appeared and overlapped the two symbols as well.
Slowly, Lucas opened his eyes. As he did, white light spilled out of it, making it appear as if his eyes were made of light.
Lucas waved his hand.
The next moment, the symbol exploded and sent a gentle shockwave throughout the universe.
As soon as the shockwave finished, Lucas' eyes closed again as he fell down to the Earth.
Raven quickly flew and caught him.
The two of them landed on the ground slowly and the others quickly rushed towards them.
"What was that? What did Lucas do?"
Batman hurriedly asked when he saw Lucas fall unconscious.
Raven smiled wryly and caressed Lucas' hair gently.
"It's magic...to protect our world from others. A barrier to prevent any being from the multiverse to invade our world…"
Hearing this, everyone was shocked.
Although they don't know much about magic...just hearing about what Lucas did, they knew it was still quite a shocking feat!
It was one thing to create a barrier around a room...or maybe a building...or an island...but a barrier...to protect the whole universe!?
Suddenly, a golden Fate symbol appeared before them and a woman wearing a golden helmet appeared.
Everyone looked at it but wasn't wary since they had seen this often in the past few years. The Dr. Fate from the world Lucas visited in the past would often visit their world to look for Lucas.
"It isn't just your world that Lucas protected."
Dr. Fate said as she removed her helmet.
"Morgana?"
Raven was surprised. From what she knew, their world should've been closed off now. How was it that Morgana could still appear here?
Morgana looked at Lucas and smiled.
"This guy...Lucas didn't just cast the barrier in your universe...but extended it to cover the worlds allied with yours across the multiverse…"
"What!? But if he did that…"
"Yes...I'm afraid so…"
Morgana sighed and nodded.
Batman and the rest looked at Raven and Morgana, still confused what their conversation meant.
Batgirl asked.
"Raven, what do you mean? What's going to happen!?"
Raven looked at her and hesitated for a bit before sighing.
"To do what Lucas did...required an enormous amount of power. It should be taxing already to cast the barrier to one world, but if it's Lucas, he should be fine after a few night's rest…"
"...H-hold on...so Lucas extended the barrier to a couple more worlds...so what? He just needs to rest for a few weeks, right?"
Morgana and Raven exchanged looks.
Batman had a bad feeling…
Raven sighed again and answered.
"It won't be just a few weeks...or months...actually, we don't know how many years it will take for Lucas to wake up...even if he's now a God, creating a barrier that stretches across the multiverse and protects hundreds of worlds...it will take time."

Everyone fell silent.
An hour later, the other members of the Justice League had arrived. They all came as soon as they heard what happened.
At this moment, Alfred arrived as well and handed a flashdrive to Bruce.
"What is this?"
"...It's something Young master Lucas gave me...to give you once he had decided to use that magic. He said it contains his message...to you and the others."

Bruce looked at the flashdrive and silently took it.
He connected it to the computer and played it on the huge monitor inside Mount Justice.
The screen lit up and revealed Lucas' figure.

Lucas smiled.
"If you're wondering why I had to do this recording...well, it's because I will probably not consult you guys again and do something reckless. I know I shouldn't, but I know you guys will stop me again anyway so I would probably still do it."
"So I'm leaving my…'last' words, as you will, in this video. Ah! I'm not dead though. I'm just in a really long sleep. I'd probably wake up one day. I just don't know when."
As everyone watched the video in silence, a groan rang out from the side.
The noise immediately attracted everyone's attention.
"Mm…Huh? Why's everyone in my room?"
Lucas looked around in confusion for a few moments before it finally sinked into him what's happening.
He saw the video playing on the screen and his face turned red.
Immediately, an Omega Beam shot out from his eyes and destroyed the screen, along with the flashdrive!
Lucas covered his face in embarrassment.
"Ahhh! I thought I wouldn't wake up for like….decades! I even made a video message because of that! This is so embarrassing!"
At this moment, Lucas felt like a guy who had confessed to his crush on the day of the graduation because he thought he wouldn't see her again the next day, only to run into her again in the afterschool party…
It was so embarrassing he wished he could die!
The only good thing here was that the video seemed to have only started so they shouldn't have heard much yet…
"L-Lucas! You're awake!?"
Morgana asked in surprise.
Immediately, Diana and the other girls charged at him in a group hug as they laughed and cried.
"Lucas!"
"Lucas! You're back!"
"Huhu! I thought I won't get to speak with you again!"
Lucas smiled and comforted them.
"I'm awake...although I'm not sure why."
Lucas felt his powers within him.
Normally, he should've passed out and been unable to wake for decades, maybe even centuries.
However, he was already awake.
Not to mention...my power...seemed to be even stronger than before?
Lucas was confused.
Closing his eyes, he tried to feel his power.
He could see...specks of light. All around him. Not just the area around him, it extended further...and even further…
Lucas had felt this power before.
Is this...the power of faith?
As a God, Lucas had been able to see the faith of those connected to him. And this had provided a small boost in his power in the past.
But he didn't recall it being this many before?
Then how come...wait.
Was it the barrier? Because the barrier had covered hundreds of worlds...they are all considered 'connected' to me?

Lucas chuckled and sighed.
"Lucas?"
Barbara called out to him.
"It's nothing. I just thought there's nothing to worry about now."
Lucas smiled and separated from the girls.
He wrapped his arm around Bruce' shoulder and raised his hand.
"Since we're all here anyway, let's party instead!"

Everyone was still confused with what's happening.
At first, they thought that they had lost Lucas all over again.
Then Lucas ended up waking immediately.
Now he...wants to party?
Everyone broke into smiles.
Flash and Green Lantern were the first to agree.
"Party!"
"Let's celebrate!"
That day, the heroes partied like there's no tomorrow.
Time passed.
Villains appeared, and Heroes rose.
When Anti-Monitor and Barbatos appeared after somehow bypassing the barrier protecting hundreds of worlds, one man appeared and stopped them.
To some, he's known as Batman's Little Brother.
To most people, he's known as Prime.

AN: Author here! Unfortunately, this is the end.
I know that there are a lot of stories and arcs I could use here, but I'm really not that knowledgable with DC comics and would make some mistake sooner or later...probably already did.
But the main reason why I ended this is because...I simply don't have the inspiration to continue it anymore.
I started this since I had a lot of time in the past. There was less work and I don't have anything else to do. Now, there's more work, a lot of games to play, got myself an Oculus Quest for playing VR, tons of novels, mangas, and manhwas to read...basically, I have a lot of other interesting things to do than write.
I thought about simply dropping this and just forget about it but...I feel like I need to give it an ending at least. My other book, Ultimate Fruit, will also end soon.
I actually thought about making the ending so Lucas...just doesn't wake up at all. And that the others would just watch the video he made....but it felt too complicated so I had him wake up and had an even happier ending. As for the explanation of his system and his reincarnation...just forget about it and be satisfied with this!

Just when Frank thought that this man behind the door was a person of Luchen's gang and he was ready to open the insurance pull ring of his watch anesthesia gun, the big man suddenly spoke.

    Hey everyone. You see the heading. You should know what this is. So, I know this is the most important thing you should see before reading, so please read this all the way through before you continue, okay? First of all, before I began writing this series, I was totally unaware that there was already a series of comics under the same name (oops, I should've done my homework before I started). Although the series is called "Batman: THE Black Mirror", emphasis on "the", I still blush a little whenever I upload a new segment (but not that much. I still love my title). 
    Before I published Batman here, I had written this story on other sites and it occurred to me some of my readers were sort of shocked at some of my choices when it came to the characters and their actions. Some have commented on the dark and upsetting themes mentioned throughout the prologues. During the first five segments, I will mention themes situated toward a more mature audience (M+18 in some parts) and should tell you this now: "BATMAN: Black Mirror IS NOT for children. Batman is known the world over and has garnered a large young fanbase, but I repeat, this story is not for the young. Gotham City is a place where monsters are born. 
    Criminals are its main output and the normal people just trying to live their lives are victims waiting to be devoured. For almost 80 years, we've known Gotham wasn't a sane place lo live in, but it still shocked me when my readers expressed their awe over one of my main characters being "passed around like a used cigarette". Batman will win the day, but there will be times when he loses badly. Crimes as gritty and disgusting as groping, statutory **** and other awful actions exist in this world and over the course of my series, there will be times where the main characters will have to make choices that would usually make a grown man cringe. What would've happened to Bruce after his parents' murder if he didn't have Alfred to comfort him?  What if he was left to fend for himself with no one to care? What choices would he have had to make in order to survive and would his already suffocating darkness grow deeper and mixed with an endless need for violence and revenge. These are the questions Bruce constantly asks himself, but they become more profound when he meets a young orphaned Eli sitting before the Wayne's graves. He's not like other children and it disturbs Bruce that the child seems to perfectly reflect the darkest parts of his soul.

It was sometime between morning and midday.
The city of Metropolis was bustling with people, everywhere you look people were busy with their daily life and speaking of daily life, there was a well-known tall building with an enormous globe that sits on top of it, the words 'Daily Planet' were displayed on that globe, which was a name hinting the sort of business run inside that building, it was the name of one of the most famous newspaper companies in the DC universe and also where mild mannered reporter 'Clark Kent' works but unfortunately, Clark Kent wasn't there today.
Inside the Daily planet
"Jimmy, did you see Clark today?" an attractive woman with long black hair asked as she seemed to be hurrying somewhere, she was 'Lois Lane' a successful journalist who is also working for the Daily Planet.
In the comics Lois Lane is often seen as a friend and a work 'rival' work for Clark Kent however in some versions and adaptations of the superman comics her relationship with Clark Kent went even further to become also that of a husband and wife…
"No, miss Lane, do you want me tell him you are looking for him when he comes?" Said a ginger youth with a bright smile on his face, his name is Jimmy Olsen, working as a photojournalist for the Daily Planet and he was a good friend for both Lois Lane and Clark Kent and especially for superman.
"No need Jimmy, this is going to be my scoop" Lois Lane answered as she left with a smile on her pretty face.
Meanwhile, 'Clark Kent' was still aimlessly running trying to escape the noises he is hearing.

Hundreds of thousands of conversations, sounds, voices, etc… from around the world were being transmitted to him at the same time, in a sense, to him it was noise pollution.
Superman kept running seeking a shelter from all those noises but where could he hide? His hearing sense was excellent if not even better.
"Superman!"
Suddenly he heard 'his' name, that call seemed like a call for help.
But unfortunately, he didn't feel like helping, he wasn't a bad person but just he didn't feel like helping, main reason for that was his current condition, he felt like he was in need of help before being able to help.
"Superman! help!" he heard another call for help
"Nope" was what he thought
"Help me! Superman!!" another call for help reached him
"Some help me first!" He thought as he again ignored the call for help But 
"Superman!"
"Superman!!"
"Help us!"
"Superman!!!"
The shouts for help suddenly increased, each time he ignores one, two or three shouts would reach him.
"God! Why me? Aren't the noises I am hearing enough? Where did these people come from?" he said as he grumbled
"Superman!"
"Fine, fine, I will come" he said as he gave up and decided to help
"Superman!" Unfortunately, it wasn't like whoever were calling for help could hear him therefore the shouts for help didn't stop which only made him more irritated.
Alas, following the voices calling for help, superman arrived at the harbor and what he saw there was simply amazing in a sense.
At the harbor, several big flaming ovals where floating in the sky as terrifyingly looking creatures kept flying out of them while for some reason lots of people where gathered there and were being kidnapped by the creatures and back into the flaming floating ovals.
"Parademons!" superman was shocked
It was his first time in that world and he was still trying to get used to life there and to his powers, but his first opponents were parademons? And if there is Parademons, it means that 'Darkseid' is there as well, and that is a bad thing.
As a fan of Dc comics he knew who Darkseid is, and what terror he could bring, reading or watching that terror is something but living it is something else entirely no to mention he got to face that terror, the current superman was at a loss because Darkseid was a super villain whose powers equaled the actual superman's and in some adaptation Darkseid was far stronger than the actual superman, so what would that make him for the current superman?
However, things didn't stop at that.
When he looked around more following the screaming people, he saw that there were familiar characters fighting the parademons, or rather than characters they were people as he is living in the same world as them now, anyway, said familiar people included Batman, Wonder woman, Flash, Cyborg, Shazam and Martian manhunter those were members of the justice league so it weren't strange for them to be there when a threat like Darkseid was present but superman was surprised by someone else
"Lois Lane" he said surprised
Lois lane is a character with her own fanbase, she even got her own comics.
But she doesn't have super powers, well, at least aside from few adaptations but the current one in front of him doesn't seem to have any super powers.
Now what does he know about this pretty lady?
To him Lois Lane is a headstrong and ambitious woman but also a bit of an idiot, as even now in that 'hunting field' she wasn't trying to run away but seems to be chasing someone.
Upon closer look there was a bald healthy-looking man in black suit that seems to be trying to go somewhere.
"Lex Luthor" again superman recognized another face
Lex Luthor was most of the time depicted as an enemy of superman in almost every DC comic except few, as he feared him, envied him and even tried to harm superman on lots of occasions.
Not exactly a supervillain although he was depicted as such in lots of works but the current superman's impression of him wasn't good either as Lex Luthor is selfish and always thought of how to make his desires come true not to mention he dislikes superman a lot, therefore the current superman doesn't like him either.
"Lots of trouble" was what he thought, he might be superman now but he isn't the actual superman no matter how much he dreamt of being a super hero but of course not like that, there were lots of things on line, mainly his life, mr Mxy words still echoing in his head, how is he going to make him change his impression of superman and especially in such situation?
"Superman!" a grim voice suddenly called, it sounded so close.
Turning around, superman saw a man in a black suit, just from a glance one can see that the design was based on a bat, and as if that wasn't enough there was a big black bat on the chest area of the suit.
"Batman!" superman said surprised, till few moments ago batman was a distance away from him and now he is behind him, when did he get behind him? Superman couldn't tell…

A young man while online browsing for a movie to watch, read somewhat upsetting comments, unable to leave without saying anything he commented his thoughts unaware of the consequences of such act...
“So? You like superman eh? Let us play a game, shall we?” 
Alas, because of a blunder, a normal young man of modern age finds himself in the world of DC comic as none other but Superman
