" Well ok, actually I saw your pictures in newspapers that day. You have grown up, and become very beautiful. So I just wanted you to be my friend. " 

 

I swear, I hate that guy. I saw Gautam from the corner of my eyes and saw him clenching his jaw. I held Gautam's hand as I knew he was about to say something. 

 

" Listen Dheeraj, I don't know what you want, but I don't want that. Sorry..." 

 

" What ?? But why? Like our parents are also friends. And we were also friends. " 

 

" Correction !! Mr. Dheeraj, our parents are friends but we never were... and I don't want to change that. "

I took a deep breath which I didn't realise that I was holding. 

 

" So apple is your favourite fruit and you eat at least two in day to keep all doctors away??? You can't even tolerate doctors for 2 minutes??? You can't even talk to them??? " He was looking at me with his eyes brows raised and we both burst out laughing. 

 

" Have you already eaten your two apples for today? " he looked amused. 

 

I just shook my head and smiled shyly. 

 

" Come have them, I bought some yesterday. " I made a face as I hate them. 

 

" You are such a liar.... But your acting was funny today. I couldn't control my laughter. " 

 

" I swear, I hate apples, my mom used to make me eat an apple everyday. She used to recite that line everyday. I have had so many apples during my childhood that I am sick of them. " I was still laughing. 

 

" And you have had a crush on me since you were 10 so you thought that it is better if you stop eating apples as I am a doctor and extremely handsome. Right??? " he was amused.

" I got angry at his stupid and arrogant behaviour but I didn't want him to say anything bad about me to my dad. My dad has always thought that he is a wonderful person. He always praised him. I could never tolerate him and wanted him to leave." 

 

" But trust me you were behaving in a funny manner. I have never seen such a weird proposal and then even more weird refusal. " He again burst out laughing. 

 

" Very funny, ok, just eat the food." 

 

" Why did you make this much food today? " 

 

" I made a few things for Amit. He was not well. So made for you as well. Then I made a few things for you so made for him as well. Prachi helped me. " I said but he didn't say anything and his mood seemed to change suddenly.

Here she took his name again. Last night, three of us were enjoying alot when that stupid Amit called. I wanted to punch him. He must have said, I love you, to Maurvi as she said, I love you too in the answer. 

 

Does she ??? 

 

If they are in love why does Prachi believe that I am her boyfriend? She knows both of them. Everything is so confusing. 

 

Anyways... I wanted to kill him for saying love you to Maurvi. 

 

Then this Dheeraj, I would have punched him the moment he started speaking, he was so full of himself. But Maurvi held my hand. 

 

How dare he talk to her like that?? Then she started talking and it was so funny and weird. I wanted to kiss her right there in front of that idiot. She was looking so cute. But I was very confused about her. I wanted to beat every guy who was interested in her. 

 

I like her a lot and she likes me. She said she has a crush on someone and I need to find him to see what he is like. I have to make her fall for me. It feels so good whenever I say that she is my girlfriend. I was never a jealous kind of person but whenever I think about the man she has a crush on , I get upset.

The argument in the living room gradually died down. The group of elderly Chinese physicians and Western doctors turned to look toward them.

They looked around the room and eventually at Old Master He.

An elderly doctor in a white coat sat there with a cup of tea in his hands. His face was red as he tried to suppress the laughter.

The group of doctors sitting at the right started laughing too.

"No it's fine, Let me help you," I said and then insisted that she wrapped her arms around my shoulder,

"You're welcome and I am the one who should be saying that word because you just saved me, How about we used that wheelchair," I said because I just saw a wheelchair just on the side of the room

"How are you feeling by the way?" I asked while helping her be seated on the wheelchair, 
"Good, My body just hurts a little especially on my shoulder," she said, I helped her by pushing her wheelchair, she grabbed some apple in the basket, so someone had visited her before me, 
"Where do you want to go?" I asked while pushing her wheelchair, she is so light it's not even hard to push her wheelchair

Yuanyuan felt her heart break, but she stayed strong for Sammy, the same as Sammy had stayed strong for her. It turned the other way around, her visiting Sammy, her bringing Sammy what he wanted from outside the hospital room. She noticed that Sammy started to look like how she was before, sunken and thin. Only skin and bones.

Would he experience the same as her?

Slowly, Alexandra who always told Yuanyuan to stay away started to disappear and she heard that Alexandra's family had broken off the engagement. It was by Alexandra's consent at that. Evander was thrilled to see Evelyn. He wanted to say something, but he couldn't. He tried to express his feelings with his hands, waving them around, and forming them into letters. Evelyn could see the joy in his face.    

Evelyn stood at the end of the bed, smiling at Evander, and then she turned to Sheffield. "Get him on CRRT. You and I both know he needs it. And put him on the waiting list for a new kidney. When he gets better, he can change to ordinary dialysis."    

"You're right,"  Sheffield replied after a pause. He turned and asked a nurse to get a room ready for CRRT.
