Nora Clark is a 14 year old girl. She was going to be in high school now, freshman year. Central Park East High School was nice so far. Having only gone to the orientation at the end of 8th grade may not have been a great decider, but it was something.

"Miles to go before i sleep" is a story about the life of an athlete girl who wants to spend the last three month's of her remaining life to its fullest but God had other plans for her.....................

"Chanyeol...?"

The rustling sounds in our shared room tingle my ears awake. I groaned at the white light from the ceiling and my eyes darted to the wall clock before studying what the big figure was doing on the floor.

"What are you doing with those l uggages?" My supreme traveling bag and luggage was sprawled open on the floor so as his' and there were too many things for my eyes to process in this kind of time. Good thing the recording was finished earlier than expected hours ago or else I still might be worrying on how I execute.

"Go back to sleep Baek..." Chanyeol uttered without looking at me. He looked busy folding those clothes and such our necessities...

My eyebrow scrunched and I sat up to look from his back.

"You're packing stuff. What for?" I suddenly got worried. What was he planning to do? Is he thinking of leaving us? My lips opened apart and stared at Chanyeol unbelievably.

"Baekhyun...? I told you to go back to sleep." His deep voice contrasted with his chuckle he made. He was trying to pry my hands off him but I tightened my hug.

"I'm not letting you go. No matter what reason you're planning to say. Three guys left the group were still heartbreaking and beyond unforgettable... Please Yell, don't..." I felt a droplet of my tear fell on his shoulders but my sentimental situation was broken by his small laughs as he swayed the two of us in a slow manner.

"Stop getting paranoid Byun Baekhyun." His hand squeezed mine softly, I loosened up. He signalled me to sit on his lap and I obliged while pouting trying to avoid his teasing stare.

I was just thinking ahead before anything happens like that. What if he actually wants to leave? It would saddened everyone especially me.

"I'm not leaving if that's what you're thinking about." He said. Chanyeol's large hands were rolling softly on my shoulders letting my mouth a low moan.

I tried not to be distracted and took his hands off my shoulders, held them on my lap instead.

"Then what's with these stuff? It doesn't look like it." I clapped and he only buried his face on my hair before tracing my ears with his teasing lips and reached my neck giving me shiver.

"Dont you trust me Baekhyun-ah?"

I was contemplating and everything turns to me. I instantly felt guilty about that fact.

"I do..." I answered and he kissed my cheeks before turning my chin to see his face.

"If you really do then be my good boy and go back to sleep. Before you know it, you'll get you're reward in return."

We locked stares and the corner of my lips automatically curved upwards after he did with his angelic eyes and charm. Maybe he's right. I was just overreacting these kind of things.

He's been telling me this whole 'reward' thingy. What is he talking about? I pushed all of those thoughts and crawled back inside our blankets. Instantly, my nostrils were filled with Chanyeol's strong scent. His masculinity and manly figure overall contrasting that cute face of his was in his scent all over the sheets. Before I knew it, I fell back asleep fuzzied about Chanyeol.

"Manager-hung, thank you for coming all this way. You can leave us here coz we will be boarding soon." 

I was trying to feel the mattress I slept in however as I flutter my eyes open, I found myself clinging on Chanyeol's neck with his hand on my thighs carrying me on his back. We were moving, he walking towards the waiting bench. I glanced on my side and saw our manager pulling our l uggages and carrying my bag in his other hand.

"No big deal Chanyeol. But don't forget to call when something happens and also, don't be gone for too long, it will be hard for me to make excuses to public and your fans."

I don't know what's happening.

"Chanyeol? Where am I?" 

"Dont worry hyung I will and we won't." He replied to manager-hyung ignoring my question.

"Then I'll go now. I have more work to do, have a good vacation you two!" He was waving to us as he went to the exit leaving the two of us. Chanyeol signalled me to sit on the bench and did the same beside me before pulling our bags together.

I stared at him and nearly bit my tongue when he finally looked at me with a tired expression.

"Dont bother asking. You'll find out soon."

He read my thoughts very well. I was about to open my mouth to ask another one but he caught me first by tugging me closer beside him.

"I hope this trip will make you happy."

Its time to board on our plane and by the time they were asking for tickets that's where I found out that he's planning to take us to japan! I didn't know when he planned all this stuff without me knowing but I've been telling him not intentionally though but oh my God.

I was getting giddy and excited as we went inside the plane and sat on our seats. My lips were getting stiff from smiling ear to ear.

"What are you happy about? Is it because we're going to Japan or we're travelling together?" Chanyeol asked as he sneakily took my hand warming it up with his temperature. I stared at it for a moment before answering his question.

"I actually never thought we could do this both..." I chuckled nervously and yet his eyes quickly looked curious to what I said.

"What do you mean?"

"That we will never do this or... we might actually break up first and did nothing like this." My smile slowly decreases. However he's squeezing my hand softly making me look back at his hazel orbs. These past few days I observed how Chanyeol was getting gentle and nicer to me, not that he's mean but he was always in his aggressive and possessive mode to the point that he always keeps on scolding me.

"The thought of breaking up with you never even passed in my mind."

My heartbeat went crazy so as my face got warmer all of a sudden. I blinked a few times to absorb in the idea however I was still flattered inside that I bit my lips to calm myself.

"Really?"

He smirked and he nodded his head signalling for me to lean closer.

"I love you."

My ears perked up and I quickly looked around us and good thing other passengers looked like minding their own businesses. I curved into a ball hugging my knees against my chest, hiding my tomato face and my reddish ears in embarrassment.

"Are you not going to say it back or I might as well say it louder?" Chanyeol's threat made me instantly raised my head up but only to get my lips surprisingly met his.

"I, I love you t-too..."

We arrived after a few hours traveling and with the present attitude of Chanyeol's possessiveness, he has one arm slung around me protectively. I was getting flustered in embarrassment nonetheless happy he felt proud, it's 4am in the morning. Our fans shouldn't be around here this time, right?

A squeeze on my right shoulder broke my thoughts.

"Stop getting tensed. No one knew we're here... as of now."

Well walking to Kate's house, Alex tried chatting with Kate trying to learn about her.

The area looked ordinary, well the 2 traveled by the houses on the way, there were gravel all over the ground, homes of different kind some looked ordinary and others looked old and tattered but all had light and warmth, the town probably would look more lively but the townspeople were all getting ready for bed, it was evening slowly turning night 

Alex was looking around his curious reached its peak, The layout and feeling was different, the designs of the houses and warmth they all gave off which was very different compared to his life at home that felt cold and a sense of loneliness always in his heart but today that feeling was gone Alex felt, happy, curious, amazed, jealous and most of all fascinated by everything he saw. 

Alex and Kate took 2:00 minutes before arriving at an ordinary house, the front had some flowers they walked by, this is where I live come inside Kate look at Alex and welcome him

No just sleep on the bed with me, but we'll build a small wall in the middle don't cross it ever Kate spoke seriously to Alex a Tiny bit in barest though.

Sure sounds good, Alex agrees immediately because his heart calms down a bit. 

The 2 didn't speak but got their beds ready they build it a small pillow wall in the middle.

The night went by fast Alex and Kate felt very comfortable in there sleep in there entire life they felt peaceful.

In the morning they woke up at the exact same time really close to one another, in each other's embrace confused, embarrassed and both thought *I'm I still dreaming?*
They hugged each other tighter to see but they not could feel or tell if this was a dream not feeling drowsy and sleepy still at the moment in each other's embrace they assumed they were dreaming and hugged some more trying to get more of this comfortable feeling they felt, like that they slept some more then woke up the same time and know this was not a dream and separated, getting mad at themselves for doing what they did.

Kate with her cold expression said how?. She was very much surprised she could change and see hope.

So what do I get started on Alex asked Kate waking up from her thoughts, she replied, you could clean the floor and dishes that are already there, I will go do the laundry and sort out the blankets.

Like that both Alex and Kate got started on cleaning while cleaning Kate didn't have to show him how to clean, he was better than her and her mother. Alex knows how because he cleaned and did acting at the Castle every day growing up and was used to it. After cleaning they both got changed in separate areas, then washed there hands and face before heading out.

Do you wanna go to the park Alex I heard the town built new playgrounds and a sword practice Arena there too I never went because you know.

Wow, this is a park, Alex was amazed again the park as big as the school, had strange designs and made kids want to try out the playground and was very tempting for all kids, there were some other kids there playing.

Kate saw his action all the time since she first saw him and was amazed and confused about why it seemed like he knows nothing. Which he didn't. 

Alex let's go play over there Kate pointed at the starship (This town was MelvirGarden the last town that survived the demon kings/servants attacks the most famous town ranking 1th in power and resources) there was a ship that looked like it was sailing through water smoothly but in the air above the playground and where it lands, when after flying all around drops off other young people where the youngsters are, as it picks up a group of new youngsters to go around for another round. 

Alex had his mouth open clearly shocked from this strange Magic ship that had the word starship graved on it. Sure looks interesting.

Ok but could we hold hands Kate asked him while looking at the crowd of people in her same expression like always

Alex kinda froze then looked at Kate strangely and confused *this crowd is big sounds reasonable* sure he smiles and grabs her hand.

They waited for 1-hour holding hands in line finally getting on, time to time people looked at them strangely. 

The View looks amazing! He looked excited and amazed, Alex said loudly, people look more strange at him and started whispering.

She wiped the unformed sweat from her face. So they never really understood her.

"Mom, I'm just the same. Can't I be a little serious once a while? Do I have to always pretend that I'm happy?" she can't help saying out loud.

"Don't you the think I should feel pain to learn to be truly happy? I can't just keep on smiling. This world is not a fairytale. I'm trying to live in the reality but you want to cage me in fantasy." Her parents looked more confused.

"I really appreciate that you have always put me in your priority but if you don't let go of my wings, I won't ever learn to fly.

She relaxed from her tensed position and exhaled sharply.

"I had been in love with that guy since I don't remember when. But that was the childish me that had those silly feelings before. I had grown up and matured from all my silliness and I'm just trying to be a better person. Can't I do just that?" The couple just looked at her with shock.

If she can't persuade them with her honesty, she'll just run away from home.

"I'm getting annoyed with him because of the way he treats other people compared to his interactions with me. He's very reserved and cold only with me but he's warm and cheerful with others. I no longer have lingering feelings for him but they way he acts like that still felt insulting for me. Can't he treat me like an old friend?" she said it. It was the painful feeling of being treated differently that he despised from him.

"But I've gotten over that already so please, just let me deal with my own troubles from now. Huh?" she smiled at them as they still try to process all her revelations for today.

She didn't mean to put Handsome in the middle of their family disputes but until she tells them the truth, which would always involve him, they would never stop interfering with her affairs.

She indulged them and answered all their questions as honest as she can. She just won't reveal those times when she had to empty her father's pockets for more coins. Hehe.

When her parents stopped asking any more questions, she stood up and walked towards her room in satisfaction.

Finally, she got her freedom, she had a heart to heart talk with her parents and her long forgotten puppy love put to a proper closure.

They're at it again! She turned around and helplessly smiled.

Sweetheart rubbed her eyes when she saw that the dark sky is starting to be lit with sunrise.

It's already morning and she did not get any sleep after her parents' last words to her last night.

She got up from her bed and prepared breakfast for her parents before she moved to their room to wake them up.

"Breakfast." she spoke softly before she walked back to the dining room when she saw them stir awake.

Both parents are definitely shocked when they saw her bloodshot eyes and the dark circles around it.

"What happened?" there was little worry in their faces but more of curiousity.

"Huh? I can't sleep." she answered blandly.


"Is that because-" they both held on their tongues, afraid that making her remember their last night's conversation might put her on a nervous breakdown.

"I was just shocked with everything that happened last night. Don't worry about it, I'll take some sleeping pills later." she laughed halfheartedly.

"I'm fine. I just need to organize my thoughts. Then I'll be okay."

"It was just a secondary information so you may have heard it wrong. I have to stop thinking about it."

The she remembered all the night's event's again, his soft lips, she screamed.

Well apparently, I had a lot to catch up on. Aside from B and G's relationship, T retired while D, V and X died. A and S were still alive and kicking which brought a smile to my face. They had found the traitor that tried to kill me, I, which didn't surprise me as much as I thought it would. I guess the years we spent butting heads because I had a bad feeling about her made sense. 

A bunch of irrelevant information about random places they've gone on missions in Asian countries like Japan, the Philippines and Burma that I didn't really care to listen all that much to was shared as well. I'm pretty sure G only brought them up to try and make me cook for him again.

The only problem was with the organization behind I. Only speculations about either the Feral or Insects were plausible leads. Either way, both crime syndicates were extremely dangerous and whichever they were, they were on the verge of finding out that I was still alive. Failing was never an option for them and the leader that finds out is sure to punish everyone that was sent to kill me. And my family. 

Thoughts of the horrendous fate I brought to my sweet, happy and supportive family only invites regret to claw at my heart. 

"Don't you still have work in the morning? Are you going to be alright on so little sleep?" B asks, interrupting my thoughts. 

"Huh? What? Oh uh, yeah.. WAIT OH SHIT WHAT TIME IS IT RIGHT NOW???"

"Almost 4, my dude. Have these past 3 years been that cushy for you? I should have retired too instead of roping B into doing manual labor again, goddamit," G curses.

"Fuck, yes and yes. In that order. I'm going to take a shower. You guys can sleep in my parents' old room.  Everything is still where it used to be so help yourselves. G, don't fuck it up and one of you make sure to wash the dishes. Yes, I will need a wake up call at 07 and before you get any ideas B, I'm not interested in this monkey. I'm happy for you two and glad you found each other. 'Kay bye and night. Sweet dreams if you have any nowadays," I ramble on and rush off. 

"Uh is she always like that?" B nervously asked.

"Like what? Kinda air-heady and frazzled? Yeah that's normal."

"I heard that, dipshit!" is the last thing I say before showering and rushing off to sleep.

I don't know how I managed to do it but I get to work on time. B trying to gently tap me awake and G literally yagga-ing(1) me off my bed probably have something to do with it. 

Sighing, I take a seat at my desk and think about what I will need to do. B had asked if I would need help packing up some essentials so I could leave my apartment, at least temporarily until the situation gets safer. Going through the motions of my work, I organize the necessary files and graphs needed for the next meetings while debating my options. Even just being at work puts everyone here at risk. 

Suddenly a message through the company line pops up with a chilling cryptic message that makes me freeze on the spot. 

'Good luck saving Romeo.' 

"What are you staring at so intently?" Haruka asks, popping up from behind me. 

Jumping in my seat and turning my head in fear that she saw the message, I'm only semi-relieved to see the message magically closed on its own. "Geez, don't scare me like that! I was just spacing out. Didn't get much sleep last night," I sigh, hoping she buys the story.

"Hmmmm I wonder why???? Brother came back pretty early last night...." she responds, obviously fishing for information and most likely jumping to some wildly wrong conclusion.

*Sigh* "I had a lot to think about. The anniversary is coming up too."

"Oh, that's right," Haruka says, obviously wilting from disappointment. "Are you going to take off again?"

"Yeah, I go every year remember? It'll just be a week or two at most without me. You can find someone else to bother."

"It's not the sameeeee... I like bugging you the most <3," she says holding up her index fingers and thumbs in the shape of hearts. "Can we go get lunch now at least? I was waiting for you to slow down with work for almost an hour already!"

"Okay, okay calm down child. Let's go then."

As they listened along quietly, their mood began to shift for the better.
Once they arrived home, Lin Yiqian was the first to enter the house. As she headed upstairs directly, Gu Nianshen followed behind her.
Lin Yiqian stopped in front of the door to her room. She did not have the courage to enter it right away.
With one hand around the doorknob, she turned her head around to look at Gu Nianshen who was making his way up. "I'm going to sleep."

As soon as the college ends, I saw dad's limo already waiting for me, I sat inside and dad flashed me smile that I gently returned he was listening to rock music that I enjoyed.

"How's the college today?" Dad asks cheerfully, I laid my head on his lap to sleep for some time.

"Boring" I replied and he laughed, leaning back on his seat.

Marcus kept thinking as they arrive at his new room. That would explain why mother is so happy about him accepting me into his family? Something seems a bit of though. He didn´t seem happy enough and left almost immediatly after he talked to me.
