Sota Toyoda is a small boy who lost his parents at a young age and now lives with his aunt Ruka.  His only friend is Harumi, who often berates him. He is a shy guy who lacks self-confidence and his classmates take advantage of him. One day, a portal opens and a fairy enters his bathtub. Eventually, Sota became a love magnet for four fairies!

While reading a book, a sparkle of light disappeared. And, as it did, a message appeared.

"I am finally here." A person said. "Huh, who are you and where is the author." The Reader asked with a confused face. "Me, you ask? I am the great alter ego." Alter ego replied. "Oh! But why are you here?" Reader asked.

"Well, I am here to save the character from the sadistic author." Alter ego replied while laughing. "Huh, What do you mean by that, and how will you save the character?" Reader asked with a confused face. "Well, that's a good question, but I can't answer you." Alter ego replied, shaking his head.

"Huh, is it that secretive and important," Reader asked with an excited face. "Nope, not at all, it's just I want to build up the tension." Alter ego replied with pride. "Ah! Okay, then but can you tell me how are you here or you going build-up that so-called tension." The Reader asked. "Haha you are learning from me, and yes I will not tell you." Alter ego replied, laughing. "So, how are you going to save the character." Reader asked. "Well, for that, I will show you so I can increase the word count." Alter ego replied. "Aren't you ashamed?" Reader asked. "Nope, not at all and let me increase my word count." Alter ego said and started the story.

Just as William punched Karol, Ellie didn't stop him and kept hitting him, and after a while, he finally stopped breathing. "Heh! Never talk s**t about her." William said, laughing. 

"Wait, Wait, Wait, what are you doing?" Reader suddenly interfered. "What do you mean by that?" Alter ego asked with a confused face. "Aren't you going to save him, then why are you killing him?" Reader asked with a stern voice. Suddenly Alter ego started laughing, "He can't die as he has something no other can have, something that others always want but can never get." The Alter ego started his monologue. "Huh, what does he have?" Reader asked with an excited face. "Well, he has the plot armor." Alter ego said and continued the story.

Suddenly, Karol body started glowing, and his every wound was healed. He then looked into William's eyes and said, "Die." and he died. Karol looked at himself and realized he gained immense power and was able to kill anybody with his word. Suddenly he looked towards Ellie.

Ellie then bowed Infront of Karol and said, "Oh! My master, I am sorry I did not realize your greatness and wanted you to forgive me." Karol being a generous guy forgive her and then married her. Then Karol travels every place in the universe, killing everyone that annoys him with his plot armor and no could kill him as he had the plot armor. He also married every beautiful girl and have kids with them.

"Wait, Haven't you just make the worst story." Reader asked as he started to get a headache. "Heh, I never say that I am writing a story and that sadistic bastard is writing it, I am trying to save the character of the novel." Alter ego replied. "But haven't you only saved Karol." Reader asked. "Well, in the novel, only the main character is a character, and everyone else is.." Before he could finish his sentence, he falls unconscious.

"I am sorry about this person, and I will not upload the chapter." The author said after hitting on the alter ego's head. Then he picked up alter ego and take him to the basement and chained him in the chair in the basement.

A few hours later.

"Huh, where am I?" Alter ego asked. "You are chained in the basement by the author, and he also stopped the upload of that chapter." Reader replied. "Heh, like he can do that as I have scheduled it so it is going to be uploaded and guys give the novel five stars and follow it." Alter ego replied, laughing maniacally. "Aren't you ashamed by your self-promotion." Reader asked. "None not at all ahhhhh!" Alter ego suddenly shouted as the light was gone. "Hehe, I was not scared ahhhhh not at ahhhh all." Alter ego keeps shouting as the light keep going and coming.

What will happen next? Will, the author, will realize about the scheduled release? Will alter ego be able to release himself? Will alter ego admits his fear? See all of it in the next episode.

"Wait, but who are you?" Reader asked with a confused face. "Me, I am the mysterious man, hehe." The man then disappears in the shadow while laughing creepily. "What the heck is going on today?" Reader thought, shaking his head.

The darkness was cold and wet, her mind slowly drifted back to the sea of consciousness, to a strange sort of feeling. Half of her body felt cold and wet, the other half felt warm and also wet. Then she realized that she was being anxiously shaken by someone, as if that person was trying to wake her up.
She blinked her eyes open to a familiar but a strange face in front of her. There was a girl who looked very similar to Amber, but she seemed younger, around sixteen years. Instead of normal clothes, she was wearing a white gown. Her hairs were very long and wavy and an unnatural beautiful shade of silver, her eyes were a shade of blue and green, like the ocean. She seemed to be a princess.
But she looked so similar to Amber as well.
"You are alive...?" she gasped, "Are we in heaven?"
The girl looked around. They were on a beach, on left, there was a vast ocean and on the right there was a forest from where some form of lights seemed to be coming. A small fire was kindling nearby, which gave warmth to her wet cold body.
The princess looked at her worried eyes and poked her head.
"Does it hurt?" she asked,
"No...what are you doing? What is this place?"
"Oh dear, it seems like you have lost your memories! I am Johanna, you are my handmaiden. How much have you forgotten?"
"Johanna Avington...?"
"Yes, do you remember?" she smiled brightly and clasped her handmaiden's hands, Johanna was so relieved and happy that tears lined her eyes, "You frightened me! Your heart has stopped beating for a moment, If something happened to you I wouldn't be able to live!"
"Oh well...uh thanks"
'The handmaiden' couldn't understand why the princess reacted like this, but she also couldn't help but feel touched by this gesture and such genuine affectionate words. 
Johanna seemed a bit confused, then shook her head.
How many transmigration novels have 'the handmaiden' read? Too many to count, it was clear that after dying in her world, somehow she came to the world of 'The Faery of Light'.
She thought for a while, Johanna is clearly very closer to the character the reader has transmigrated into. That must mean that the reader received the body of Ophelia, but Ophelia was never Princess Johanna's handmaiden.
She stood up and dusted the sand from her damp gown, before walking towards the sea and glancing at her reflection in the murky water. It was blurry, but what she inside had made her even more confused. The reflection that glanced back at her was of Johanna's!
"How are there two Johannas??" she looked back at the princess, "You are not supposed to have a twin?!"
"Huh...? So you have not completely recovered your memories" she sighed and leaned back on the sand, as she gazed at the full moon, she seemed to be surrounded by a beautiful and mysterious aura. "We met five years ago, I had sneaked out in the market when I met you. You were struggling in life, and I was the princess but the one thing common between us were our faces. You used to have black hair back then, we became friends and decided to switch places sometimes. So you became my handmaid, that way we were always together"
"That was not in the novel..." the reader wondered, "But how come no one suspected your handmaid? Since she was always by your side..."
"All the maids of princess wear veils..." Johanna whispered, she was thinking something before her eyes widened with realization, "What? Novel?...Do you, by any chance, know 'The Faery of Light?"
"Yes... oh my god, It's you!" she was sure of it now, not only did the princess knew the novel but her facial features were so similar to Amber as well
"And it's you!" the princess gasped,
"I didn't had the chance to tell you my name" the reader chuckled,
"Well, we have that chance now. I...erm I am actually the author of this novel" she got up from the sand, "I don't remember what happened, but I fell asleep and woke up here"
"But...weren't you...?" the reader frowned, "What do you mean by falling asleep?"
She has died due to organ failure! But if she was the author, who updated the novel after her death? Something was very weird, and she was scared to find out the answer...
"To be honest, this is all still confusing for me. Since I created this world, I know some places that can give me the answers. Next morning I planned to leave, it's for the best."
"By the way, how much story has progressed in this world?"
"Ah don't worry about that, Nesrin!" she smiled and took her hand, "It's good enough that you are not directly involved, since you have appeared in the body of a handmaid just enjoy the story from sidelines"
"Yeah but still...I am not Nesrin?"
"That's your name in the novel, now follow me. I wish to show you the autumn festival before I leave. Let's have fun, shall we?"
Johanna led Nesrin through the forest, their way was lined with lanterns and decorations and it took them to the most beautiful place Nesrin has ever seen.

This time she will not be bound by her destiny. She will pave her own path and live the life she has always dreamt of.

However, a life inside the palace is not as easy as it seems. This world of fantasy is much harsher than the world she came from. Can she really uphold her bold words?

Nesrin wanted to run away, he was like a fire that could devour her whole. She knew it would lead to no good endings, but a small part of her wanted to see how close she could get to this fire without burning.

So… It's been a while… How've you been?

Now that the ice has been stricken, I'll get to the point of this particular post. As you're probably aware, Serial Transmigrator has been on a bit of a hiatus for… a while, but there's a good reason for that. I hadn't uploaded any chapters…

Why?

Well, I've been spending a lot of time thinking about the story and where it's going and what I'm trying to say with it, and it left me at a standstill when it came to continuing this particular version.

In the end, I think I'm just going to stop this one here. It's served its purpose, and continuing it now, while some of you may appreciate it, just places an additional task on me which isn't very productive in terms of what I'm trying to do.

That said, Serial Transmigrator isn't dead. Not by a long shot. I've decided to take this pretty seriously, and I'm going to make it into a full-blown light-novel-type-thing.

The best part, especially for you guys, is that it will still be free.

"Surely not!" You exclaimed.

"Oh, but it is." Replied Shixuan with a smile and a thumbs up.

That's right, I'm seriously going to try to make this a proper light-novel-type-thing, illustrations and all, and it will still be free (obviously we're talking an e-book as opposed to a physical one).

"Eh? But what about money? Free isn't sustainable and illustrations don't exactly come for free either. Besides, I've seen your drawings, and you're not gonna want to use those." Said no one.

"Glad you asked. I'll open up a donation thing for those who want to support me financially. The story will still be free for everyone though." Replied Shixuan, slightly offended on behalf of his beautiful artwork.

So yeah. This version is kind of over, but I'm working on something which I think is much better than what we have here.

Anyway, sorry for the abrupt pause. I'm wishy-washy, we all know this by now. But I'm still working on it. Until next time-

"Even if that's the case, why is it taking so long?" Interrupted one disgruntled reader.

"… Well, it's-" Shixuan tried to respond, but Disgruntled Reader wasn't finished yet.

"Judging by your previous output, which was over 2000 words a day, you should have been able to write a book or two by now. Where are they?"

"No, you don't understand. I… I've been thinking a lot about how the story's going to progress and wh-"

"Where it's going and what you want to say with it. Right. But does it take so long? You're spending more time thinking than it took to write the actual story."

"I mean… Fire Emblem came out last week, so…"

"You were procrastinating?"

"N-No! I… I was doing research!"

"Yeah right."

"No, really, I was. And besides, thinking about the story takes more time than you would think. It seems like every other day the story goes through a few changes becoming more and more refined."

"…" Disgruntled Reader didn't expect this response. Wouldn't complaining about it only mean asking for an inferior result? Frustrated, Disgruntled Reader reacted in a way only a disgruntled reader could. "Whatever! I-It's not like I wanted to read your story anyway, baka!". Disgruntled reader stomped on Shixuan's foot before scurrying away.

"…" Shixuan watched in confusion as Disgruntled Reader's form vanished behind a corner.

Speaking of research, I also want to "study" a few anime, manga, light novels and web novels to rediscover what it was that made me like them in the first place. All of this "research" does add to the production time, but I'm hoping that at the end of it, I'll be able to deliver a story I can be proud of and one that was worth the wait.

* JAPANESE FANTASY NOVELS

Japanese Fantasy novels have made extensive exploration of the Western Fantasy concepts. Japanese people are constantly being outsourced into various fantasy worlds, and the average Japanese wouldn't be surprised to one day wake up and find himself in a different world or in a room with white walls and white tiles.

They have also spread the notion that being squashed by a big, heavy truck is perhaps, not necessarily a bad thing !

* WHY JAPANESE NOVELS FAIL …

These are some of the popular novels which we know. Each of them is very unique in it's own way and have become popular in it's own right. It would be incorrect to call them a failure, as they have correctly captured their intended audience – the Japanese teenage audience. However, when thinking about a broad perspective, these novel become obsolete when it competes on a global level with other web novels, and the majority of the reason for their deficiency is simple – the Protagonist in these novels is a typical Japanese light novel protagonist, who is naïve and a dumb virgin idiot. It is as if he has never received any sex education, and would always talk some naïve things which do not match with his current situation. Their behavior is somewhat correct given that these protagonists are usually high school kids, but the readers have difficulty accepting such an immature protagonist.

Web novels are about accumulating wealth, women and power. So when a reader reads the protagonist behaving like a dumb virgin when a girl approaches him, or when he does not actively seek wealth and power, the reader is bound to get angry and disappointed.

A good example can be found in the following example :

In Tsuki ga Michibiku, the Protagonist Makoto establishes a business half-heartedly, and his business is more like charity to the hyumans, the same hyumans the majority of whom treat him like sh*t and had killed his subordinates. Instead of developing his Asora realm, where we might have enjoyed him developing a realm and being a king or even god, he keeps roaming throughout the world unnecessarily.

Also, he had two beautiful subordinates who are eager to have sex with him, but apparently he sees them as 'sisters' or 'family', so he cannot do that. (Perhaps he has not read any incest hentai, or heard of Kiss X Sis)

Note that this is not just about sex, as there was a very broad scope for plot development in Tsuki ga Michibiku. For example, Makoto could have properly developed the Asora realm, showing us some world building and kingdom building. He could even have married Tomoe and Mio and their kids would have been demi gods who would do various mischiefs in the hyuman realm. There might have even been wars of Asora vs hyumans.

In short, the Japanese protagonists have disappointing characteristics on a global scale, and are not entertaining to read.

* SOLUTION FOR ALL THIS…

Japanese isekai novels have good would building (from light novel and web novel perspective), and this fact cannot be ignored.

My idea is simple, that is to write a fan fiction of a pre-existing light novel or use the basic ideas and rewrite the novel, the only change being the utterly virgin protagonist. The protagonist would simply be 'de-virginized' and re-introduced. This change might seem small but actually opens up a lot of routes for novel writing. (as in Tsuki ga Michibiku example)

The protagonists in these isekai novels are already powerful, and if they are re-written of as being mature, smart and driven by ambition, then they would become warlords, making the story even more interesting to read.

Seiji finished his vacation… er, his recovery and left the hospital. After returning home with Shika, he went out again before long. They headed to the bookstore together.

Her scarlet eyes seemed especially beautiful, as if they were shining and possessed something mysterious within.
Standing in front of her was a white-haired boy who wore a collared jacket. He was sticking both his hands in his pants' pockets, and he was also turning to look behind him. His attention drawn to them, he wondered about their identities. His gaze was then drawn to the light novel they had both picked up a copy of.
"Brother Monogatari"… this seemed like a strange book title to him.
The cover art was quite beautiful… and he felt that the beautiful girl drawn on the cover greatly resembled this girl in front of him?
The man was quite surprised at this resemblance.
He hid his emotions and picked up a copy of "Brother Monogatari" as well. He began to read the story.

"Thank you for your purchase." After ringing the man's purchase up, the employee gave him a glare of "don't just read books without purchasing them" before leaving him alone.
The round-hat-wearing man looked around him but didn't see the boy and girl anywhere.
"'Brother Monogatari'… Idle Dimension by the Shore…"
He looked at the book in his hands and muttered the author's name to himself as he left the bookstore.
Seiji and Shika both purchased three copies each of "Brother Monogatari's" first volume. One copy would be for personal reading, one for collecting, and one for loaning out to friends.
They were both quite confident in the quality of their own light novel. Still, it remained to be seen how well the book would sell.
Seiji received a phone call some time after he returned home.
The call was from Hisashi.
"Seigo, are you out of the hospital yet?"
"Yes, I've left already."
"That's good, then." Hisashi paused for a moment. "This humble one has already purchased and started reading a copy of Milord's novel that was published today."
"What did you think?"
"It's excellent, as expected of something personally written by Milord!" Hisashi gave him passionate praise. "I would really like to finish reading it in one go. It's such a pity that I have other things to do today. I can only wait until I have some free time. Just the part that I've read so far makes me believe that this will become a famous bestseller! Many people will become Milord's fervent believers in the future!"
"Thanks for your kind words. It would be nice if that really came true." Seiji smiled.
"Of course it will come true! Milord's light shall illuminate the world!"
"No need to exaggerate things so much. This is only a light novel."
"No, this isn't merely a light novel, it's the beginning to Milord's legend! As the First Knight under your command, I'm quite honored to follow your cause. I shall support you to my fullest!" Hisashi spoke quite seriously.
"Thank you for your support. We are quite lucky to have such a loyal retainer like you." Seiji chuckled and responded using the royal pronoun "we".
Seiji treated all of this as a joke. He didn't actually understand the true meaning of Hisashi's "full support".
After they ended their conversation, Hisashi placed his cell phone on his computer desk and contacted someone on the internet.
"What is it, Sweet Pig-dono?"
"I would like for you to help me advertise a light novel that was just published today, Tea Brewer-kun. You can charge me as much as you think is necessary."
"What a joke, how could I possibly charge Sweet Pig-dono any money? You merely have to ask. What's the name of the light novel you want to help advertise for?"
"'Brother Monogatari'. It's a new story published by Thunderbolt Literature."
Hisashi then contacted various other online contacts and had similar conversations with them.
He then adjusted his eyeglasses and smiled satisfactorily as he gazed at all the numerous conversation windows on his computer screen.
"My 'support' doesn't mean that I'll simply buy a few of your books, Seiji-kun."
Later that night, Mika, Chiaki, and Kaede all arrived at Seiji's apartment. All three had a copy of "Brother Monogatari" with them. They all sat down by the kotatsu and started reading together as if this place was hosting a book club.
Seiji read "Brother Monogatari" together with them as well. Although he was intimately familiar with the story, he still wanted to read it again.
He kept receiving phone calls or text messages from all his friends. They all wanted to tell him their opinions of "Brother Monogatari".
"Excellent story. The insert art is beautiful as well. Overall, you've done a great job, Shore-sensei." — from Natsuya.
