Once in a  lifetime, there is some very rambunctious cutlery as well as mischievous cooking wear.

Seeing my expression, Mari had confused look on her face. Because of that, the food that I gave her stopped going inside her mouth.

"An intruder has entered."

Once she heard what I said, she stiffened up and let go of the spoon she was holding. She was probably thinking it was someone from the church.

"Hey, don't worry. It's not something you should worry about. I can take care of it no problem."

I reassured her that there would be no problems once I took care of it.

"Just wait for me here, and when I get back, you better have finished that soup alright."

I gave her a smile as I headed outside the door. Once I got outside, the smile on my disappeared and I quickly frowned.

"…Shit…"

Almost half of the monsters deployed in my dungeon have been wiped out. Whoever the intruder was this time, he wasn't an ordinary one.

"At this rate, it won't be long before she reaches this place…"

I quickly headed back down and outside of the house. With the sword strapped to my back, since it was still too large for the 12 year old me, I quickly dashed towards the first floor.

'I should not let her see this house whatever means necessary…'

If the intruder found out that there was a house inside the dungeon with technology beyond their time, who knows what would happen once information got out.

Perhaps, if I was able to repel him, once his friends or even the person he is working for knew what was inside, then I won't be able to live without fearing for my life, or even Mari's everyday...

'I should kill him here and now…'

But the problem was how…

The intruder was no stranger to battle, and seeing him how he handles the monsters skillfully as if they were children made me guess that I am no match for him with my current capabilities. Even my Void Iron Golems, with their special skill [Parts Configuration] did not stand a chance against him.

"Damn it…"

Realizing that I had no choice left, I let out a curse as I hovered my hand over the <Dungeon Menu>.

"Shit… I hope the MP this guy gives me is high…"

If it didn't, then I will literally go mad. The strategy I came up was simple, advantage in numbers. No matter how skillful a person is, one can never beat thousands without getting tired sooner or later. Once they get exhausted, even small fries can defeat them with their puny strength.

"This is the only way for the weak me and my weak monsters to overcome strength."

Once I had my mind made up, I quickly replaced all of my dead monsters with new ones.

My previously 1145 MP (935 – some MP after replenishing the monsters slain from trying gto trap and kill the gang members + 100 for each killed gang member) quickly dwindled down as I replaced all of the dead monsters. Seeing that even the special monsters stood no chance, how would regular ones do?

So I had no other choice but to opt for the <Influence from the Dungeon> in hopes of getting her exhausted more easily.

Once I did that, the monsters continued their onslaught towards the robed figure while I continued heading up the stairs towards the <First Floor> just in case she was able to bypass the horde of monsters.

I headed up towards the boss room I made during one of my breaks when I was busy scouting the slums in hopes of not letting the same mistake happen as when Drake died. This time, instead of leaving the <Dungeon Core Floor> defenseless once the <First Floor> was breached, I made a final defense line, a.k.a. the common <Boss Room> where a stronger than most monsters appeared.

And this time, I will be that monster. Thanks to the special skill of the Void Iron Golem [Parts Configuration], I was able to make a discovery while tinkering with it. By the way, here is the description.

Parts Configuration – Parts that are damaged or lost can be replaced by other parts. Additionally, it can also be used to upgrade present parts.

In a nutshell, it means that any damaged parts can be replaced, and it can also be used to upgrade parts to make it stronger. The plan I had to make a good boss monster was combining several Void Iron Golems then making a cockpit in the center like those in the movies Drake watched before coming here for better handling.

Putting my plan into action, using the free slots of monsters that can occupy the dungeon made by the intruder by killing some of my monsters, I quickly bought some Void Iron Golems. Next, I had them use the [Parts Configuration] skill to mesh together.

The sound of metal rubbing against metal was painful to the ears, but the result was extremely pleasant. Since Void Iron Golems were like puppets, if the puppet master wished for them to do something then they will do it. And in this situation, I as the puppet master commanded the puppets to combine and create a mobile suit. The sword the Void Iron Golems had even combined together to make a huge sword fitting the hands of the huge mobile suit.

"What the…?"

Once I saw the new window that appeared before me, my jaws dropped to the floor.

"Didn't I create a cheat monster…?"

I unconsciously mumbled what Drake would have said when he saw something just unfair.

"It's abilities are just too much. I can understand <Lightweight Body> and <Durable Body>, as well as <Manned Golem>, but <Phasing Blade>?"

If I had to pick one of the most cheat abilities I have ever seen, it was this. Paired with the two abilities, <Lightweight Body> and <Durable Body>, it could practically be a weapon that could ignore defense and focus on offense while ignoring the enemies weapon.

Just when I was mesmerized by the monster I had created that stood more than 2 meters tall, I realized that the intruder was near the door of the <Boss Room>.

"I'll worry about this next time. I need to repel this intruder first."

'I need to protect my home, as well as Mari…'

I quickly got inside the cockpit. It was quite comfortable so I had no problems sitting on the chair provided, even though I have no idea where the cushion came from, from the metal materials.

Once I got settled in, the door opened and through the doorway, stood a lone figure draped in a robe.

"… Oh shit…"

The one to curse wasn't me, but the intruder.

Drake, a game developer, after finally finishing creating his new game called "Dungeons and Mayhem", gets sucked into a parallel world where swords and magic rule the continent, as well as where various monsters and dangerous creatures roam about. The only forgiving thing is that he was transported with a benefit where he doesn't know left to right, and that is the power to view and manipulate the status!

All that Han Xiao had in his arsenal was the enhanced 73-WASP handgun, an N9 Colt Assault Rifle, 15 magazines of ammo, and the Lightweight Mecha Arm whose durability had been reduced to 130. He was essentially outmatched in terms of equipment.
Bang!
The sniper rifle was fired again. The bullet pierced through the tree he was hiding behind, narrowly missing him. Han Xiao groaned. While the enemy had night-vision, he could only attempt to make out their position from the muzzle flashes.
The sniper rifle was too powerful. With his current health, it would probably take only 3 shots to kill him. Han Xiao decided to put the 18 unassigned Attribute points at his disposal to use. He added 14 points into END for additional health and 4 into STR to bolster his STR advantage. Engaging in a shootout would only be disadvantageous, so even though close combat was risky, he had to take the chance. It was virtually impossible to run away since the enemy had night vision. The only way to make it out now was to kill them all!
With the +10 bonus from the Mechanical Arm on top of his 29 STR, Han Xiao had enough STR to ensure that his blows would proc 'overwhelming blows'. With 36 points in END, he now had a max HP of 460. He had instantly gained 140 HP from adding END, which was crucial as Han Xiao was already low on health. His current HP was now close to 400, which was much more optimistic than before.
The agents were fanning out to surround him, and Han Xiao noticed that they were not very closely coordinated.
He estimated that it would take around 5 to 8 seconds for them to reach each other to help.
In other words, Han Xiao had to be sure to finish off his target in this short amount of time.
Having killed over 30 guards in the Valkyrie base, Han Xiao was now sitting on 116,000 experience points.
He dumped all of it into his combat skills.

With the mecha arm as his shield, Han Xiao weaved through the trees to evade the rain of metal while returning fire with the SMG in his other hand. The smell of gunpowder was overbearing.
In 3 seconds, Han Xiao came within range of his target. He threw the SMG at the agent's gun hand as a distraction before swinging the mighty mecha arm at him. The agent raised his arms in reflex to block the blow and endured the pain to draw his handgun. He aimed at Han Xiao's head and fired, but Han Xiao's DEX was not just for show. With seemingly inhuman reflexes, Han Xiao clipped his arm over the agent's gun hand and tugged down to make him lose balance and buckle forward before proceeding to ruthlessly smash his knee up into his groin.

Although the agent's expression was covered by his goggles, his painful scream was telling of the blow's effectiveness. Han Xiao took advantage of his temporary immobility to knee him again and again.

The agent's HP plummeted and Han Xiao finished him off by ripping into his throat with the Mechanical Arm. Before Han Xiao could celebrate his first kill, he felt a sharp pain in his back. He hurriedly dropped to the ground and dragged the agent's body over him as a shield while he crawled towards a tree for cover.

The pain caused Han Xiao's face to pale. Just a single shot had taken out one whole chunk of his health bar. Unfortunately, he could not afford the time to bandage the wound.
"Damn it!" The remaining five Night Owl agents were enraged that Han Xiao had killed their comrade. They rapidly closed in as they fired, cornering Han Xiao.
Han Xiao quickly searched through the agent's body and put on his Kevlar Vest. It would do well to block one or two shots. More importantly, however, he found three G-fragment grenades, one of which he immediately tossed out.
Kaboom!
The agents had to stop shooting as they frantically ducked for cover.
"Shoot more, assholes!" yelled Han Xiao furiously as he threw out a second grenade, causing the five agents to scramble back to the ground just as they were about to get up.
After the blast, a third black object was flung out in the air, and the five agents subconsciously crouched down once more. However, when there was no explosion after two seconds had passed, they looked up to see that it was just a piece of rock.
Meanwhile, Han Xiao was already charging towards the next agent while firing his assault rifle wildly. Although Han Xiao managed to kill the agent who was seeking cover in the grass, he was now out of ammo.
Han Xiao tossed the rifle away and threw the third grenade, buying himself some time to get in range. As he rammed into the third agent, knocking him down, a shot from Silver Blade's assault rifle clipped him in the calf.
Han Xiao grimaced. The calf injury affected his movement speed, so Han Xiao decided to jump into the agent he had knocked down, causing them to tumble together out of the other agents' line of sight where he made short work of him behind a tree. The agents simply stood no chance against him at close combat.
But there were still three agents left! Although the odds were against him and he had lost half of his HP, Han Xiao remained calm and spent some time to plan his next move.
"The enemy will probably…"
Meanwhile, Silver Blade was in complete disbelief. He had vastly underestimated the test subject, resulting in their number being halved.
"Bomb him!" he ordered.
They threw grenades
Kaboom!
"Is he dead?"
"Stay cautious," replied Silver Blade as he and the other two agents slowly approached.
When they reached the tree, they noticed that there was a burnt corpse on the ground. From what remained of its uniform, it appeared to have been Han Xiao.
"Finally." The two agents lowered their guns and relaxed.
"No!" shouted Silver Blade all of a sudden. "Get down!"

Han Xiao was a professional power leveler before his transmigration. Using his past life's knowledge, Han Xiao sweeps through the universe as he prepares for the arrival of the players. This is definitely not your typical transmigration novel.

"Some scrap wood here." Yoink.
"Newspapers. I can use that, definitely." Yoink.
"Discarded bottles. Some of with cracks and chips, but otherwise completely fine and fixable. I can fix them to sell or for personal use such as storage."
"Oh, nice... someone must have dropped their lunch money here." Yoink. "Three shillings... oooh, lovely. My money now totals four shillings and 18 pence."
Humming to himself, Henry went through the trash bins found in the streets near Doc's clinic. Which also serves as the meeting area for the monster-hunting group.
People might think this is just a typical 19th century London day. Just a nice day, not foggy at all. And no trace of anything supernatural whatsoever.
Except for our protagonist, of course.
"Oi, you there"
Henry turned around, seeing a group of  five mid- to late-teens males. They may act tough, looking like typical Victorian-era thugs. But their scruffy and underfed reveal their true physical conditions.
The two burlier ones has crude, but serviceable clubs. The shortest of them wield a dull, rusty knife. Much better at causing tetanus than cutting, you surmise. Another one has a piece of thick rope stretched between his hand. And the leader - the one that shouted at him - holds a long piece of pipe in his right hand, slapping it occasionally on his left hand.

"Me?"
"Yeah, you. Are ye a bloody dimwit? Why are ye scavving in the rubbish bins around here? This is our turf. Now, hand over your stuff and get lost."
But Henry has only eyes to the items that the thugs were.
In a mocking tone, Henry replies "Really now, gentlemen. There's no need for violence between myself and you gentlemen."

"Are ye mocking me?"

"Think so boss." One of the club wielders answers.
"Uh-huh. Seems to me the shit thinks we're bluffing." The shortest of them replies.
"Are ye taking the piss at me, ye fucking bellend. Ya think we won't break a few of yer bones? Boys, let's teach this wank-stain a lesson, he'll never forget."
Henry sighs and speaks "Well I guess no more 'Nice Guy', eh? How about this for a change, my dudes."
And then he pulls out a gun.
A Beaumont-Adams M1872 Mark III, chambered in .450 caliber. Doc loaned it to him this morning, telling him to be careful. It was quite a struggle, asking Doc to let him out of the clinic and scavenge for junk. Doc even offered him share from the Vranitch bounty to get him started on his feet. Henry only convinced him to let him outside after a long discussion and debate that took almost an hour.
First, he agreed to be back before sundown. How the heck did his smartphone synced with the time zones here, he'll never know.
Henry haven't even unlocked the 'Otherworld Interwebs' mod for his phone yet, which will allow him to connect to his home world's internet. To obtain it requires an investment of 5000 Upgrade Points, requires at least rank 7 in 'Arcana' and rank 6 in 'Electronics', and quite a laundry list of parts and materials that don't make any sense to Henry. 'Aetheric Flux Crystal'? 'Dimensional Fragment'? When Doc heard of those items, he begun frantically searching on his archive. (Author: It didn't even make sense to me either. But it will... soon....)

Second, bring a gun. In this case, the revolver. The gun has just been been made the official sidearm of the British Army and Navy. And Doc lent it to him, just like that. The Society sure does have a lot of connections.

And third, the Doc's group has the first refusal on all items Henry produces. This is something Henry will agree to wholeheartedly. The group helped Henry obtain the items needed to complete his workshop. Even Sergei leveraged his influence on some black market dealers to obtain some of them. Henry's even going to owe them a lot more after that.
Henry owes them his life. He won't be alive if they haven't saved him from the Vranitch. Whether by providence or just plain happenstance, they saved him. They even are helping him now to get back on his feet. He has a lot to thank them for.
"So... gentlemen... how about a deal. You drop your weapons and then walk out of here. AND I won't shoot any of you. YOu see, I've  got five rounds right here on my pistol. And there are five of you. You guys to risk your life for something insignificant?"
The boys, fearing for their, drop their weapons and scrammed.
"Hehe, too easy. Well... more loot for me."

"Nothing special him. Just some junk and bits of material. But all of these are quite useful for my plans."
"So... what are your plans, Darling. Anything involving me, I hope. If you want, I can take you to dinner. My treat."
"I don't think that will be necessary."
Sergei interrupts "Stop pestering the kid and let him do his work." Henry breathes a sigh of relief.
"Really now, Sergei. You just come in and ruin all my fun."
"At least this is more important than you standing around there yapping. Doc just received a missive from the Society HQ. They released the pay for the Vranitch. And they also got a new job lined up for us."
"Oh my, action already? Well, atleast it won't boring now. This is gonna be fun."
"Let's go down then."
Henry lets out another sigh of relief. "Good thing they've already left."
"Okay, the 'Worktable' is assembled already. Incomplete, but functional. Still lacks some equipment like a lathe and better metalworking tools. And I'm going to unlock the 'All Packed Up' function, and make it portable. For that I'm gonna need 100 Points. It's not going to be like those video games where workstations are scattered all around the area."
"Let's see... what should we do first? Weapons, armor, medicine for healing wounds and curing poison, useful tools like explosives and traps.
"Weapons... my choices is to make a pipe gun. Or a scrap iron blade. Or a scrap iron bludgeon. All bad choices since I don't have the right tools to make better ones. No 'Forge' yet to smelt the scrap iron down. And I got a better pistol than that dinky pipe gun. If I have the Alchemistry Lab, I can make better bullets for the gun. Right now I'm limited to making black powder. I can't even make new bullets."
Henry just made a regular Wooden Club, instead of the scrap wood version. And then added 'Shaped Hand Grips' and 'Rusted Spikes' mods to it.
"That should suffice for." He checks the 'Worktable's' available blueprints. "Armor, the same. A scrap iron set. It got nice DEF stats, but horrible WGT and ENC scores. A padded leather vest would be better, but I have no Leather to make them. Wooden armor is just plain awful."
"For consumables... no dice. I don't have an 'Alchemistry Lab' or even the materials for the ordinary poultices and salves I could make without it."
"Tools choices are slim but quite useful. Black powder bombs, either plain explosives or the special  ones filled with scrap metal fragments. Simple smoke bombs, just need sugar and saltpeter. I could make thermite, but aluminum is quite scarce. It costs even more than the weight in gold. That means reproducing the Bayer and Hall–Héroult process, then. I could do it, it's my Chemistry thesis paper revolves around those two processes, after all." Henry then checks his available blueprints and recipes. "Oh, right, I can make pure metals with the 'Alchemistry Lab'."
"Wow, all my advanced item craft really require I have an 'Alchemistry Lab'. And the 'Forge' too. Make sure to get some needed upgrades to the 'Worktable', too. We're going to need the added functionality."
Henry then thinks of the building he's now staying in.
"I can make upgrades to the house, too. Better lighting, for one. Electricity can certainly help that." Henry then realizes something. "Gaaah! I need a 'Forge' to make the glass for the lamp."
"I really want to make a lot of these things... but I'm seriously hampered by my lack of necessary equipment and functions. I'll have to resort to buying stuff for the time being."
"I'll have to write down any knowledge that I still remember that are from my world. Especially technological advancements that have not been made yet."
Then a light bulb goes off in Henry's "I know...I'll patents those inventions in my name. If I do that, I'll gonna rake in a large amount of money. Right.... It's a really brilliant idea, if I do say so myself. Making lives easier while making a nice load of cash is the best."
"So, what's items I think are needed to be in the list of 'Future Inventions Needed to be Made Now'?"
1. Bayer and Hall–Héroult processes - cheap aluminum is necessary for most modern conveniences. From lighter pots and pans to lightweight airplane parts.
2. Improve the Bessemer process - it can be done easily. Just replace the clay linings of the Bessemer converters with dolomite. The phosphate byproducts are a good source for fertilizers.
3. Steam turbines - going to need them for mass electrification. Much better than steam engines and produce significantly more power.
4. Alternators - another part of my mass electrification effort. Much better than dynamos. AC current is easier to switch on and off than DC.
5. Light bulbs - specifically incandescent ones. I want to make fluorescent lamps, but mercury vapor is dangerous. Better waste energy than play with mercury.
6. Better explosives and propellants - Cordite, RDX, and other modern explosive and propellants are the way to go. Much better than black powder and safer than just plain nitroglycerin or nitrocellulose. Rockets would also greatly benefit from this.
7. Better guns - with more powerful propellants will need more robust guns. Webleys, Brownings and Garands come to mind. Or even better; assault rifles, auto shotguns, and man-portable machine guns. I'll bet Pradesh will love to dual-wield them. He has the strength for it. He really needs better ranged weapons than the breech-loader shotty he has now.
8. Telephone - Bell would patent the phone in 1876, if we follow my world's timeline. But we need it NOW! Easier and more active lines of communications would greatly benefit the fight against the Abyss.
9. Radio broadcasting and telegraph - This one will be a doozy. Marconi isn't even born yet. But long- distance communications is crucial. Especially without the need for cumbersome wires.
10. Vacuum tubes - This will be necessary for long-range radio transmission.
11. Better internal combustion engine (ICE) - a big yes for industrialization and the development of mass transport.
12. Cars - Need I say more. Better transportation is needed for better and faster exchange of goods. And with it, Society members can easily travel to supernatural sightings.
13. Plastics - Yes, environmentalist all over the globe will sue me for this. But this a great innovation. Lightweight, yet durable materials. It will a great glass replacement for airtight and shatter-proof containers.
"I have very few more ideas but I don't know how to make them, or too advanced right now for me right now. Electronics came to mind. Transistors would be nice, but impractical for now. Better medical knowledge and technology would also be good, but I'm no doctor. Nuclear weapons? I'm not an atomics expert and it's way too dangerous. Airplanes will depends on the development of ICEs. Heck, most modern technologies trace their roots from this time period."
Henry contemplates.
"I will have to limit myself in the technological innovation I can introduced currently. Too much advancement might also harm the people. But progress is unavoidable. I will just have to be vigilant about it."
"I hope...."

When Henry woke up that day, he never expected to find himself on an alternate version of Victorian-Era Earth. Filled with mystical creatures from fantasy and folklore.

And eldritch beings straight out of Lovecraft himself.
