The area before his eyes was much smaller than the storage room and only slightly bigger than the elevator. The ceiling was white, and a soft glow filtered down from above. The floor was decorated with black and white tiles, like a chess board. The strangest thing was that, other than the elevator door, all the walls in the room were fitted with funny mirrors.
The reflections of Feng Bujue looked stranger than the one before it. Not only was the physical shape distorted, even his presence was changed by these mirrors. Inside these mirrors, one could see joy, anger, sadness, greed, madness, dullness, blankness… It was as if each reflection represented an emotion or desire.
"And I thought this would be a large shared public space like the market," Feng Bujue mumbled to himself. His eyes were attracted to the only object in the room. In the middle of the floor was a large, intensely colorful box. It was a one meter by one meter cubed.
"So… if I open it, there will be a clown attached to the box springing out to scare me…" Feng Bujue shrugged and smiled as he walked to the box. Suddenly, the system announced, "When you're at the Thriller Box, you can open the special menu to browse the objects on sale."
"Tsk… So, this is just for decoration?" The rather disappointed Feng Bujue opened the menu. The list of items was long, surprisingly long in fact. There were more than four thousand items, and all of them were at least excellent quality.
In just two days of the closed beta, or fifty hours in real life, and five hundred hours of sleeping mode and one hundred hours of non-sleeping mode, the combination of both modes would add up to twenty-five days. In this period, each randomly generated scenario would have one or two items that players were unable to bring out of the scenario. Other than that, there was countless pieces of equipment inside the scenarios that the players did not even discover. All these items, after having their attributes adjusted, would show up in the Thriller Box.
The open beta had started at 8 am, and it was since then that everything in the Thriller Box had started their countdown toward demolition. By then, six hours had passed and so everything generated at the start of the open beta in the Thriller Box had the tag saying, "Remaining time of existence: six Days seventeen Hours thirty-eight Minutes". Other than that, there were quite a few items that were added after the start of the open beta, and their countdown started the moment when the scenario that they were generated in ended.
Out of curiosity, Feng Bujue searched for 'Zombie-Must-Die', which he had encountered in his tutorial. He did manage to find it, but the attributes of the sword had been changed.

As a weapon with a specific purpose and acceptable damage, the updated equip requirement was more logical. As a level eighteen player with fighting mastery, no matter what their equipment was, fighting against a zombie should not be too difficult, but it should not be too easy either. However, that would change if said player had this sword; they would basically be able to kill every zombie without suffering any damage in return.
This sword's price matched Feng Bujue's expectations of such a standard of weapon; it was three hundred Skill Points. Therefore, this rather conceited fellow could not help patting himself on the back. However, Feng Bujue did not plan to buy this sword. After all, this weapon was much too specific, and the chance of a player running into a zombie in the scenario would be less than ten percent. Feng Bujue could not see it being a hot item at the auction house either.
He adjusted the list according to the time remaining and started to browse from the first page. And then… his reading habit sunk him into this trap. The equipment there was cheaper than the ones at the auction house, and they were worth every penny, so he was afraid that he might lose out on some good finds.
The more Feng Bujue scrolled through the list, the more excited and surprised he became. Even though he did not see much equipment with legendary quality, he had already spotted a few with perfect quality. Of course, he could only window-shop with their price tags of several thousand Skill Points. These items probably only showed up during the opening CG or were owned by the final boss. Most of them were like 'Zombie-Must-Die', something that helped the player clear the scenario quickly and efficiently. However, most of them would be recycled in the Thriller Box, awaiting the fate of being deconstructed.
Therefore, it was possible to find legendary items like Xuan Yuan Sword or Illidan's Glaives in the Thriller Box. As long as the player had enough Skill Points, they would be able to purchase them, but whether they could be equipped, that was a different matter. In any case, Skill Points were something that could not be purchased with money, and the only way to obtain them was through one's combat or puzzle-solving in the scenarios. Therefore, players with high Skill Points would not be so weak.
Feng Bujue stood there and studied the list for more than an hour. His initial plan of purchasing the items there and selling them for money was completely abandoned. He thought to himself, Does the system think the players are idiots by placing this function of exchanging Skill Points for Game Coins here? The exchange rate given by the system is only 1:10, and that is a one-way exchange. If that is not a scam, what is‽ One thousand Skill Points can only trade for ten thousand Game Coins. Turn that into RMB, and that is only five RMB, but in return, can five RMB buy one thousand Skill Points? Even a level fifty player with all of his masteries maxed out wouldn't do this trade. They can use the excess Skill Points to buy items to sell at the auction house; they wouldn't have been dumb enough to use this feature of trading Skill Points for Game Coins.
Not only Feng Bujue, plenty of players had gone onto the forum to mock this feature that afternoon. Of course, this was nothing serious. The system never forced players to make this trade. If they thought that it was not worth it, they could ignore it.
Currently, Dream Inc. hadn't provided any response. They adopted the attitude of see no evil, speak no evil. In second week of May, after one month had passed since the open beta launched, with several updates to the real money exchange rate and the general player-base familiarizing themselves with the economy, the prices at auction house would stabilize. Only then would Dream Inc. change the exchange rate of Skill Points for Game Coins.
By then, the player-base of Thriller Paradise could generally be separated into three categories: the top layer where many experts resided, the middle layer where the majority of the players were, and the bottom layer where newbie and casual players were.
The top layer's players generally had their level around thirty, and their mastery development was late in the stage. Their equipment and skill combination was advanced. They had their own way of handling the game and had a title that befitted their ability. With their experience and ability, they could easily take up the role of leading a group of middle layer players. With such a player in the team, even if he gave no guidance, just focusing on the role that he was given, he would prove immensely useful.
As for the middle layer, they were the main community of the game, from professional gamers to frequent casual players. Of course, there were a ton of players from this layer who had the potential to rise to the top layer, but their understanding of the game was still lacking, which influenced their character's ability and scenario-clearing ability. This group of people defined the term 'players' the most. Occasionally, they might have their shining moments, and other times, they failed gloriously. They complained about teammates and had teammates complain about them. Most of them thought that they were experts, but they could not figure out what the difference between them and actual experts was. As time moved on, normal players would cultivate this perception—other players were stronger than them in-game because they were richer and had longer to spend on playing games.
That was not wrong, but that was not the entire truth either.
Feng Bujue once made this analysis. For a skill-based game, the top players would be required to possess these seven qualities: knowledge, tactics, luck, determination, spirit, courage, and talent.
There were qualities that were decided once someone was born and were thus uncontrollable, but such was reality. Games were not so different from sports; only a hardworking player born with the necessary talent would be successful.
Lastly, the bottom layer players. They could be split in a further three categories: players who had just joined the game, casual players who did not log into the game too often, and players with fighting capability of a five-year-old.
This was the bottom layer, and the first two types of players would eventually graduate from this layer after enough time had passed. However, the people in the third category would not be so lucky… Everyone had things in life that they were good at and bad at—that naturally included gaming.
That was generally how Thriller Paradise's player-base was categorized after a month of the open beta.
The author mentioned this now for two reasons.
Firstly, at the end of May, there would be an arena organized in-game. Due to the high number of participating players, one had to fulfil certain criteria to get the registration, so the last category of the bottom layer players were disqualified even before the match started.
Secondly, after hearing all that, it might be naturally to assume that Feng Bujue would become one of the top experts, but that was not the case.
He was the fourth type of player. This type of player was too rare to categorize as a 'group'. For a game that had tens of thousands of active users, there were fewer than ten such players. Their level might not hit the top level ranking, but they were often seen on the combat capability ranking.
In the arena, Dream Inc. made the decision to skip these players' need to participate in the preliminaries and other matches, so they were directly moved into the finals. Even though this was called out by many players as a sign of unfairness, from other angle, Dream Inc. was trying to protect the majority of the players. If they were allowed to face off against these players in the preliminaries, that would be the real definition of unfair.

Feng Bujue had the time of his life, looking through the list of equipment for about an hour.
In Thriller Paradise's menu, a page would show one hundred items, and each item only consisted of its name, type, and price. Only by clicking on them would the details show up.
Feng Bujue naturally did not click on every single thing. He only checked out the things that interested him and scanned through most of them. Some pages only took him ten seconds to read before skipping over. Even so, it still took him so long, and there was quite a number of equipment that caught his attention.
When he was done, he closed his eyes and let out a sigh. He arranged his thoughts and used the search function to pull out an item that he had purposely marked in his mind.

Remark: The owner of this mask spent his free time hanging out with four mutant turtles who lived in the sewers and had a passion for pizza. As a youth without any superpowers, he still had a passion for fighting street crime, and this mask slowly became his symbol.

The mask sold for five hundred Skill Points, and its main value was the low equip requirement and had the feature of strengthening its wearer.
Before level twenty, it was hard for players to raise their mastery to level C, and this mask's effect was there to help players breakthrough that threshold. As something that had its lifespan, this mask would be immensely useful for players between level fifteen and twenty. Even after level twenty, if the players' fighting mastery had not risen to level C, then the item would still have its uses.
Currently, Feng Bujue's mastery levels were: General Ability E, Workmanship E, Sleuthing E, Fighting E, Marksmanship D, and Medic F. Other than that, after the open beta, the list of mastery in the menu changed. The original font became smaller, and a new grayed out area appeared. This meant that two new masteries had been introduced into the game, but for now, Feng Bujue had no idea what they were.
In any case, this mask was worth more than its price, so Feng Bujue did not hesitate much before purchasing it. Even though he was level thirteen, levelling up to fifteen would not be so difficult. Theoretically speaking, he only needed to clear another four scenarios.
After buying the mask, Feng Bujue took it back to his storage. Then, he returned to the market to place Kenny's Hooded Jacket on the auction house with 110,000 as the starting price and 140,000 as the selling price. When he made that listing, he paid four thousand Game Coins as a processing fee. This fee was decided by the system and was different depending on the item listed. The difference in price was based on the item's attributes, so technically, one could base the item's actual value on the listing price that was given by the system.
If no one bid on the item in twenty-four hours of real-life time, the item would be taken down from the listing and returned to the player. If it was sold, the money would be mailed instead.
After dealing with all that, Feng Bujue returned to his log-in space. It was 3 pm in real life, so he had technically half a day to spend in game. He set up a short-term goal for himself—before the sun rose the next morning, he had to reach level fifteen and level up his workmanship to D so that he could equip Echo Armor and Casey Jones' Mask. Then, it was time to go and experience the Killing Game mode.

Feng Bujue lost his ability to fear because of an unknown psychological disorder. Through a virtual reality game designed for players to experience fright and despair, he began his search for his lost fear. Could he finally regain his ability to fear? Could he outwit the scenarios presented to him? Could he finally uncover the truth hidden inside Thriller Paradise?  


Alex was walking to the library. He had a strong love for thriller books. He always find time to read, even under hectic workdays. The library was just one block away from his office. So, he visited it on a daily basis and borrowed books often. As usual, he entered the library to greet the librarian, who was a very friendly man. But, he was nowhere to be seen today. Instead a young lady occupies the librarian's chair. 
Alex felt awkward, because he waved to the seat as usual, but today, the person on the seat was a lady that he didn't know. Catherine was at first surprised to see a stranger waving at her like he knew her well. Then, she understood what happened, by the look on Alex's face. He had a sheepish look on his face. Anyway, he walked up to the lady and asked "Is Martin on leave today? ". "No, he was transferred from here. It was unexpected. And, I'm the new librarian ", she replied with charm. "Oh, I didn't knew that! Why would he be transferred, all of a sudden? ", Alex questioned politely. "Well, this is a government library. They do such things more often here. Only god knows, what is in their minds" she chuckled. Alex smiled and extended his hands to her "I'm Alex, one of your daily faces". "I'm Catherine. Pleasure meeting you", she replied.
Alex was impressed by her. A good-looking and charming young lady. He went on to his world of thriller books. As usual, he started choosing a book. Presently, he was into Dan Brown books. Such a classy writer! Alex always thought about the work, the writer should've done, inorder to complete the book. And he felt Dan Brown outruns most of the authors in that aspect. He took out Digital Fortress from the collection and went over to his usual seat, near the glass window.
After spending an hour on the book, he went to the librarian to request a borrowal, before leaving. Catherine grinned at him. "Where are you from? ", Alex asked her. "I live nearby, just 5 blocks from here", she replied. "Oh, I thought you were transferred from a long way to here", Alex said. "No, I'm new to the profession. And I was lucky enough to grab an opportunity in this library", she answered his doubt. "Ok. I would like to borrow this book...", Alex continued and took a few minutes to leave the library. He discovered a newfound liking for Catherine. He found her extremely beautiful and charming. Alex walked back home, thinking about Digital Fortress, but with intervening thoughts of Catherine from time to time.

" Its enough to tell you how strong i am. Now Lets go to Thriller Bark !!! " Adam said happily.

" Umm.. Adam-san, Thriller Bark is a ship that sail wandering at the Florian Triangle seas.. " Brook said.

 Then Adam face fell, and almost forget.

" You have been here for so long? You did not remember their route ? " Nami ask frowning.

" No.. Yohohoho~ " Brook laugh embarassedly

" I think we can only roam around this sea then.. " Robin said with her smile.

" Huh.. Ill fly and find it. You all can wait here, Nami use the pendant anytime if something happened. Koby dont forget to clean the dishes. " Adam said to everyone.

 Adam went to the deck and teleport in the air while using his Observation Haki fully covering the area 20km with him as the center.

 In 5 minutes, Adam has found many mysterious and creepy things at Florian Triangle. From monsters which was taller than the Zunesha, to many ghost ships.

 But Adam did not disturb them and keep looking for the Thriller Bark. Soon he found it and land on a flat ground belong to the island the Thriller Bark ship carries. Ignoring everyone looking at him with their shock and horrified face, Adam use his Teleport Teleport Fruit powers and mark the ground beneath him.

 Then Adam teleport back to the Golden Yacht. 

" Ohh !! " Brook who was drinking his hot tea was shocked.

" HAHA.. I found it, i also found many monsters with height almost 20km, many ghost ships.. bla..bla.. " Adam said what he saw in this Florian Triangle.

" Ihh... " Nami and Koby shivered.

" So the things in the books telling about the Florian Triangle were true, interesting.. " Robin licked her lips.

" Cough.. lets go.. " Adam first touch Brook and teleport him at Thriller Bark, then Koby.

 Next was Nami and Robin, after that leaving him alone at the Golden Yacht. 

 Adam touch the Golden Yacht and soon he teleport above the ground where he marks, also above Brook, Nami, Robin and Koby shocking them.

 Adam quickly went to the keel of the Golden Yacht, and carry it with his one hand.

" Golden Yacht ! Activate Landing Slids ! " Adam shout to the Golden Yacht above him.

 Soon, the hull ship transform and a Landing Slids were out. After Adam slowly put the Golden Yacht in the ground. Adam look at everyone, Nami and Robin was calm. But Koby and Brook was shocked by Adam strength.

" Teacher, your very powerful " Koby said with worship.

" Yohohoho ~ I will diretly crush to pieces if i was fallen by it, im sure this ship was much heavier than other ship. Especially 90% of the parts were solid gold.. " Brook said jokingly.

" Ahaha.. Nothing.. Its just as light as feather.. " Adam laugh and said truthfully.

 Hearing Adam"s words, everyone felt their ears were wrong.

" Clap Clap. Then lets go clean up this zombies.. " Adam said clapping his hands and waking everyone.

 Adam, Nami, Robin, Koby and Brook look at the many zombies who have surrounded them.

 They first was shocked seing Adam and the others, but when they saw the 80m ship full of gold.They thought of their boss would be happy if they can bring it . So they try to scare them first and attack them soon later.

 Although the Thriller Bark ship was huge. Adam still can cover the whole place easily with his Observation Haki and Conqueror"s Haki. 

" Let me clear them all. " Adam said while going forward.

 A golden lights flickered from Adam green pupil, and a powerful momentum broke out from Adam body, with green wave of winds blew from Adam position as the center to the whole Thriller Bark. 

 Soon everyone at Thriller Bark except from Adam"s group all stop in place. From the Zombies, Gecko Moria"s crews, the pirates who lost their shadows and hides somewhere.

" The pirates who lost their shadows, come to my position if you want to live. Absalom, Hogback and Perona come too. Im sure you all read newspaper and knew me. " Adam attached his voice to his Conqueror"s Haki. 

 The people besides the zombies all heard Adam voice, when they felt the pressure on their body was gone. They all hesistate wether to go to Adam, but soon thought of Adam strength they all finally with their heavy steps went to Adam place.

 When Adam first come, they already spotted it. So many of them knew Adam current location.

" Adam what are you doing? " Nami ask confusedly.

" Finding a helper.. " Adam said with a smirk.

 Soon Adam and the others saw many people come and gather together not too far from Adam nervously.

" Thriller Bark Victim"s Association ? You all were pirates, am i right? I hate pirates, but i gave you all a chance.." Adam said looking at them seriously, then taking out many bag of salt from his Storage Ring he prepare the previous day.

" This is salt, spread it to all the zombies. With that the shadows will gone, and they will turn into a corspe. After that you all burried them properly, and then i will prepare food for you all and you can go away from this place. " Adam said seriously

 Hearing Adam words, they thought their ears were wrong. 

" Thats the first chance from me. The second was, fight with me and maybe you can get your freedom ? " 

        Adam words were calm, but the people still felt cold.

The mc got choosen by the 'Crossing God' to cross to many worlds along with the 'Invincible System'.

Members from the Ten Great Leagues were in deep despair after they witnessed their Champions vaporizing instantaneously in front of the formidable enemy. The claustrophobic nature of the canyon aggravated their hopelessness as they found no place to hide from the terrifying opponent.
Facing Subjugator who hovered oppressively in the air like a god of war, the army from the Ten Great Leagues choked and began to retreat. They did not wish to become the next victim of that frightening long-ranged AoE Attack.
"Charge!"
Although the reaction of the Ten Great Leagues was not what the Fallen Angels would have hoped for, they couldn't stop themselves from springing forward as they had initially decided.
A deep growl preceded the release of a group of Demigod Champions led by Slayer's Heart and Wandering Soul. The two stormed out from both sides of Subjugator like two ferocious beasts!
Before the enemies were able to react…
"Furious Cyclone!"
A powerful magical force ascended abruptly from below following the roar.
The Tier 5 AoE Spell exploded inside the enemy zone like an atomic bomb. It did not affect the Fallen Angels as the burst came before they entered the cyclone's attack range.
"Shit!"
Every player from the Ten Great Leagues was greatly shaken from the blast.
They did not expect the enemy to launch a Tier 5 AoE Spell in such a confined space. Being caught off guard, the group of Tier 5 winged players at the front were directly hit by the shockwave. They flinched upon contact with the gusting wind-blade and plunged toward the ground, leaving behind the vulnerable Summoners and players with flying Pets to encounter the driven Demigod Champions from Fallen Angels, midair, all by themselves. It was no different from hitting a stone with an egg.
Soon, bodies of players and Pets from the Ten Great Leagues were seen tumbling down from the sky.
"F*ck!" Subjugator was disappointed on how things had turned completely one-sided this early into the battle.
After losing the flying platoon, the ground team of the Ten Great Leagues was now in grave danger. They dared not move an inch further, deterred by the furious lethal spells firing wildly in all directions above them.
About a hundred Fallen Angels with flying Pets stood guard not far ahead from where they were. If they rushed over, they would be forced to brace the attacks from them as well as the Demigod Champions in the air. Worse, the Demigod Champions might turn around to their backs and flank them from behind.
In such a scenario, not even an idiot would have dashed forward.

"The battle has begun at Blackscale Canyon."
Black Emperor and the others only raised their eyebrows slightly when Thriller Knight[1] from the Dark Cyclone League announced the news.
"Oh," After the brief reply, Black Emperor realized that he must have sounded unconcerned, thereby immediately asking, "How's the situation?"
He knew very well what kind of answer he would get. Sky Thread was a widely known natural fortress that was easy to defend and hard to conquer. There would be no way the three Leagues, led by Dark Cyclone could defeat the Fallen Angels there.
"It's worse than we have anticipated."
Thriller Knight frowned and recollected the course of events to the other nine League Leaders. They immediately understood why Thriller Knight intentionally mentioned about the predictable defeat.
The temperature inside the room had dropped dramatically after Thriller Knight finished his story.
Black Emperor, Golden Blood Lion, and Terminator were hit the hardest by the news and looked extremely awful. After a while, the silence was broken by the only female in the room.
 "Are you serious?"
Thriller Knight made no further explanation. Instead, he projected the video that his underling had just sent him, directly to the middle of the table.
The ten leaders in the room watched the video in horror as if they were the ones on the scene and had personally tasted the fiery flare that had appeared to devour everything it licked.
A few dozen players vanished instantaneously under the commanding strike.
"Is he still human?" Terminator, who is also an Ignis Swordmaster, gazed straight on the figure covered entirely by fire in the video. He muttered, "I guess not even the NPC is this powerful…"
"Perhaps, it's power he obtained from the Underworld?"
"Though we don't have a settlement in the Underworld, I believe we have enough understanding about that place. Subjugator's skill and equipment are never before seen or heard, not even in the mysterious Underworld."
"If Subjugator is already this powerful, I wonder how great the Winter Demon had become."
The will of several leaders inside the room had obviously swayed.
Realizing the tense atmosphere, Black Emperor quickly regained himself and tried to diffuse the uneasiness among the group. "It's just a Tier 6 skill. Stop thinking that this is the end of the world."
"As you all can see, Subjugator did not continue to attack after releasing the skill. This showed that he is still afraid of our strength in numbers. The powerful attack does not mean that he is unbeatable!"
"That's right!" Golden Blood Lion also chipped in and echoed Black Emperor's view. "But then again, the Fallen Angels have the advantage of having a settlement in the Underworld. They have better support and supply in there. Thus, it's not surprising that they stumbled upon one or two Tier 6 Skill Books by sheer luck alone."
The others were persuaded and the nervousness inside the room had largely disappeared.
"We are all League Leaders. Don't be swiftly blinded by the power of a single player. Try to look at the big picture. The situation is still well under our control. We will continue to divert their attention by sending smaller troops to Blackscale Canyon and Chimera Nest, while our main force will keep on marching toward Black Flame Valley. Once we take over that place, I believe the Fallen Angels would have no choice but to fight us with everything they've got!"

In the sky above the forest, north of Fireseal City, hundreds of winged players, along with tens of thousands of players with all kinds of flying Pets formed an airborne silk thread that spanned more than a few hundred meters. It was like the players were all lined up to attend a grand occasion.
Fierce competition was brewing amongst their ranks. They were competing for speed, outlook, power, ability, and uniqueness. One after another flying Pet showcased their outstanding traits under the commands of their respective masters.
Even the winged players with better equipment and skills were shadowed by the flying Pets that came in different shapes and sizes.
There were several players, fond of critique, embedded within the crowd. Infected by the surrounding mood, these players began to comment on the pros and cons of each Pet Type. This had drawn great interest as more and more players joined into the discussion. 
Qin Ruo, who hid inside the crowd as a disguised Warrior, was no exception. He temporarily relieved himself from surveying his opponents and stopped by to listen.
Though most of them were merely gloating, Qin Ruo did learn some refreshing opinions from the truly knowledgeable ones.
He especially agreed with the summary made by a winged player named Thriller Knight.
Pets, regardless of quality, were classified by their Attack, Defense, Support, Composite, and Gifted-Type battle monster.
Attack-Type Pets are further subdivided into long-ranged, Melee, and Balanced-Type. The various types were distinctive but hard to coordinate. If the Pet did not fit properly to the player class, then it would end up wasted. But if it matched perfectly, then it could directly elevate an unknown player to the rank of Champion, just like what happened to Permanent Lock of the Fallen Angels.
The Defense-Type were separated into Technical and Pure Tank. This class was the least popular, but they were an interesting group. The former used a skill or magical barrier to minimize damage to its master, which was suitable for players good in manipulation or loners. The latter, meanwhile, used its own body to tank the damage taken, making it ideal for a party. However, due to the presence of a Beastblood Berserker and a Steel Berserker, the Pure Tank Pet was of limited usage.
The Support-Type came in all forms. There was magical support that deflected debuffs during a battle, as well as monsters that healed and those that could fly. Value of this Pet type differed greatly and was highly dependent on the player's specific requirements.
The Composite-Type was relatively popular. It was good in both long-ranged and melee battles. Having a Composite Pet was like teaming up with a reliable ally. It could be given an important task, fight solo or in a team, and was highly adaptable.
And then was the Gifted-Type! Undoubtedly the best of the best, as well as the most valuable type currently in the market, it came with a specialized ability, as well as a rare attribute bonus or innate spell. A good example would be Teleport, a skill with high debuff damage, or even specialized attacking and defensive traits. Their battle prowess was exceptional in certain specific areas. 
When Thriller Knight mentioned about Gifted Monsters, he used Qin Ruo's Pet, Poochie, as an example.
A Gifted Pet was close to an Ultimate. It was uncannily good at melee attacks bundled with an outrageous movement speed. In the hands of a powerful Aquamancer, they would complement each other perfectly and make Winter Demon a household name!
Anyhow, he admired Monster's Cavalry Troop which was created by the Fallen Angels the most. Its sheer might intimidated its opponent and its capability to attack in a group was unmatchable. This was especially true when the three different Cavalry Troops rolled out together…
It could definitely dominate both the land and the sky!
If this time, the Fallen Angels League were challenged by only two or three newly formed Leagues, then no one would have paid attention because the Fallen Angels were certainly the overwhelming favorite.
"If you think so highly of the Fallen Angels, why aren't you joining the crusade?" A voice interrupted Thriller Knight as he was busy lamenting.
The tranquil voice had caught Thriller Knight's attention.
The voice belonged to a normal winged Warrior. The clan insignia on his chest was unfamiliar. He must have come from a rather ordinary clan.
Thriller Knight retracted his gaze and pointed behind. He then laughed and said, "I am just going along with the currents. Since we all have the same intention, why bother to ask the obvious question?"
Turning his head around, Qin Ruo immediately took a deep breath.

Ren Suo noticed that the opening sound played by the system when it was turning on had changed slightly. Previously, it seemed clearer and crisper as if a young lady was crunching tunefully on an apple; now, the sound appeared much more soothing, as if a young college girl was reciting a passage from the textbook calmly.
"As long as it doesn't sound gloomy and ominous..." Ren Suo muttered under his breath. He used to like watching the animation of "Thriller Paradise", but he would always end up skipping the OP (opening theme) as he was scared of hearing the different people saying "Welcome to Thriller Paradise" in various sinister and gloomy tones.
Ren Suo navigated to the safehouse inventory and heaved a sigh of relief when he saw his key still in the inventory, shining splendidly.

If licking the game console could earn him bonus points, Ren Suo was sure to do so to such a large extent that the console would appear to have been waxed.

In the game [A Strong Warrior Ascends 10,000 Metres], it would have no big deal if he had just been a matchstick character jumping from one platform to another. However, it had been translated into reality by a female Seeker climbing the 10000-meter-tall Hyjal mountain, and it was highly illogical and unthinkable to have happened in real life.
Putting aside the last scene where the Seeker "Transcended Nothingness in accordance to Dao" (this was the explanation that appeared most frequently in the bullet comments on the screen, and this showed the increasing prevalence of online novels in influencing the spread of Taoist culture) for a moment, the fact that the Seeker could climb from 0 meters above sea level all the way up to the peak at 10,000 meters above sea level without any sleep or rest was sufficient to make people suspect that she could just as well be a robot devised by a mad scientist.
It is a known fact that no one on earth can survive without sleep, and only an extremely small handful of extraordinary people (less than five) can remain in a conscious state of full alertness for close to 24 hours. In actual fact, these people merely distributed their sleep times throughout the day, and thus they could complete one sleep cycle in tens of seconds when they closed their eyes for a very short amount of time. As such, it would seem like they could remain awake forever without sleeping. Regardless, the longest record for a human remaining awake without sleep was for 11 consecutive days.
It is also a known fact that no one on earth can survive longer than 2~7 days without water, and no one on earth can survive longer than 90 days without food. Nonetheless, these are extreme cases and in reality, these timings would be shortened based on one's physical and mental conditions.
Without a doubt, the Seeker's physical capabilities and mental conditions were those of the highest limits of humans. It did not seem illogical for the Seeker not to sleep or rest, nor eat or drink for five consecutive days...but as if!
In those five days, the Seeker was almost consistently expanding a large amount of energy as she climbed the cliffs and walked the forests. In contrast, those who held the records of not sleeping or eating or drinking for the longest periods of time would have been lying down to minimize movement and hence energy expenditure. Furthermore, there was no reason to doubt that the Seeker was fake for there was a video recording of her entire journey up the mountain, and there were even real people appearing in the video. There were absolutely no loopholes.
The Seeker had encountered people from Xuan Nation as well as those from other countries, and foreign video streaming sites on the internet were already bustling with the commotion about the Seeker. Some television stations had also conducted long-distance video interviews with people who encountered the Seeker while on their expedition journey. As such, there was absolutely no doubt that the Seeker was real.
The unquestionable fact that the Seeker was real was naturally the reason why people began suspecting that the Seeker was one of the group of special people who were termed as "Extraordinaires" or those who had "Awakened" and who were trending on the internet periodically. Furthermore, the last scene where the Seeker turned into a bright light made people's minds wander especially wild.
Now, with the ability [Unlimited Energy], Ren Suo figured that she was not a Practitioner but an ordinary person. The strongest ordinary person on earth!
"But this ability comes at a price...that's tricky," Ren Suo said as he scratched his head.
For every one second [Unlimited Energy] is equipped, one second would be deducted from one's lifespan. That meant that if Ren Suo equipped the ability when had 50 more years to live, his lifespan would be halved to just 25 more years when he might quickly age and die.
On second thought, Ren Suo figured that he may not even be able to live to half his original lifespan. Today, the probability of one dying of old age was low; instead, most people would suffer from geriatric diseases and die due to the immune system weakening with age. By this logic, after cutting his lifespan by half, Ren Suo thought that it was highly likely that he would grow into old age much faster and suffer from various geriatric diseases at a much earlier age and consequently die even earlier.
But I will still try it and see how it feels like first, thought Ren Suo.
Ren Suo opened the [Equipment] page and removed the currently equipped [Fighter Novice] ability. He then equipped himself with the [Unlimited Energy] ability.
The moment he equipped himself with the ability, Ren Suo felt that something was amiss.
He had felt lazy and slightly drained physically due to practicing the advanced breathing technique just moments ago as if an ordinary person feeling fatigued from a jaw ache after sucking on river snails. He also felt mentally drained as if he had just completed a three-hour-long comprehensive science examination and could not concentrate any longer. This was also why he had stopped practicing and returned to his game console.
However, after equipping the ability [Unlimited Energy], Ren Suo felt refreshed and alert, as if he had just finished reading a number of erotica books. He also felt physically energized like he had just ended work and relaxed like he had removed a few hundred jin of fats from his body.
Ren Suo stood up from the couch and started jumping around his house. He first did 100 push-ups and after realizing he was not tired at all, he started doing sit-ups while performing the advanced level breathing technique and continued practicing...

An immense, unending aching pain radiated through his entire body as if an octopus was attacking him. He felt as if his body no longer belonged to him; he was just a soul attached to a rotting physical body.
"Equip, quickly equip with [Unlimited Energy]..." Ren Suo thought Ren Suo. But he quickly dismissed the foolish idea.
After a good ten minutes, Ren Suo was finally able to straighten his waist slowly and crawled back to the couch like a baby. He looked at the ability [Unlimited Energy] in the [Backup] list on the [Equipment] page. A wave of fear rushed over him.
Ren Suo had never tried smoking before, nor had he ever tried using illegal drugs. However, Ren Suo knew that this ability had many similarities to those illegal items which were addictive.
They were both harmful and would lead to over-reliance. It would be hard to escape when addicted to them.
Ren Suo knew that if he equipped himself with the [Unlimited Energy] ability now in order to escape from the physical aching pain and mental tiredness, then he would become reliant on the ability for his entire life. He would never be able to escape from the grip of the ability and with it, his lifespan would indubitably be shortened by half.
With the ability, it was as if one escaped the hells and ascended to the heavens, and the feeling of a healthy body was naturally exceptionally tempting. Ren Suo even began to think that the ability could cause the brain to secrete more endorphins, for he felt that the ache and pain from his muscles seemed to be suppressed.
This was akin to having a tonic for a poison. If he did not want to age early, Ren Suo knew that he should only use this ability in times of emergency to save his life.
He understood that equipping such an ability just to last him through the night while playing games was a luxurious waste and he could only fantasize doing so.
After some time, Ren Suo figured that he still did not have the strength to head downstairs for his meal and decided to call the Jian Ji stall located downstairs with his mobile phone.
"Hello," Ren Suo said.
"All right," came the reply from the other end of the phone.
Ren Suo glanced at his phone and thought, did the telephone at the Jian Ji stall downstairs have a caller number display...?
Ren Suo sat up on the couch with some effort and opened the [World Store]. He navigated quickly to the [Free Game of the Month] section and exclaimed, "I choose you!"

Kyosei: Because I am single. 

Reili: To fill my empty void of a love life.

Minrei: Because romance let you feel what is to be loved, plus it is universal you dont need to learn magic or cultivation in order to read.

Bajj: Due to lack of romance irl.

Murakami: I read because I enjoy the friction and conflict between the FL and ML. The insistence vs resistance is naisu.

Qin: I reads romance only for ideas and info.

VlassisBehrakis: I don't read romance novels.

Elyon then  ̶a̶m̶b̶u̶s̶h̶e̶d̶ asked some readers about their opinion about romance novels.

Yin: I read romance novels because I want that kind of drama to happen to me in real life. But I know it will never happen haha.

A Certain Irresistible Meowlin: I wonder why? And I do read romance novels. Though the chance of me dropping them is also the highest out of all the genres. Every so often I come across a scene that makes me just want to squeal and fangirl.

Elyon decided to dig deeper and asked a few of his senior "romance authors" some questions about their reason for writing romance stories.

The first question is… Why did you choose to write Romance Stories?

Anjeeriku: I'm comfortable writing romance stories compared to other genres. I'm a helpless romantic person and I like novels that can invoke other people's feelings.

Bajj: First of all, I like reading romance story. It was the reason why I read books before and reading other genres comes after. All in all, due to these romance fiction books, I got the opportunity to read more great books with different genre.

MishaK: That's what I read, so write that too.

Zehell2218: Because as reader, I want to read romance novel so when I write, I write romance since my motto is I write what I want to read.

Ikazainudin: The easiest genre. Everyone can relate.

End_of_Era: It wasn't a full on Romance, it was slice of life with romance which I feel was necessary with progression of the characters.

The second question… When you were making your ML and FL, did you imagine yourself as the lead of your story at any given point in time?

Anjeeriku: I would be a liar if I said no. There were instances that I'd put myself in my FL's shoes. Whenever that happens, my writing feels more passionate and truthful that sometimes it was hard to know where my fl starts and where I end. 

Shen Yi, LMD's ML was based on a person I've lost, The One That Got Away so it was sometimes hard not to self-insert whenever there were scenes that need to invoke feelings from readers. 

Bajj: I believe that every character the author was making and breathing life into it, a part of him/her is added to its character. But me imagining of being the ML/FL, never. I'm too pure for that. Kek

MishaK: Yes I did but sometimes. Otherwise you can't infuse emotions in your characters. It is important to understand your characters.

Zehell2218: Yes, I imagine myself as the lead. Of course, I tweak it a bit, such as in age and appearance. But mostly, the characteristics is similar to me.

Ikazainudin: FL and ML character based on what I want to be irl. Yup. I imagine that will be my love story.

End_of_Era: Yes, my leads had some ocassional self insertion.

The third question… If you were to choose some other genre aside from romance, what would you pick?

Anjeeriku: Fantasy. I always look up to those authors who can write fantasy stories/novels well. I believe writing a fantasy novel is harder than writing romance.

Bajj: Horror/thriller/Action. Read GGGB godamnit! [Good Girl Gone Bad]

MishaK: I am writing a Fantasy romance aside from regular vanilla romance *smile emoticon*

Zehell2218: Fantasy, magical realism, fan fiction.

Ikazainudin: Psychological/horror and maybe children story.

End_of_Era: The new genre I'm writing is fantasy/violent .

The fourth and final question… If you were to give a message to your beloved readers, what would it be?

Anjeeriku: I'm sorry for not being inconsistent with updates. Y'all know I love you, but a little consideration and patience as I face this rough patch in my life would be very much appreciated.

Bajj: Vote me please :* mass release comes after, deal?

Hello Guys! I hope you enjoyed this chapter of WWCG. Personally, I've read a few CEO novels myself. I also read some FL stories like A Slight Smile Is Devastating (Love O2O), Hidden Marriage, Doomed to be Cannon Fodder, Transmigrator meets Reincarnator, A Mistaken Marriage Match: A Generation of Military Counselor, There Is an Angel in That Church (short story), Eight Treasures Trousseau, Grabbing Your Hand, Dragging you Away, A Mistaken Marriage Match: Record of Washed Grievances…

Ai~ there's a few more that I won't add to the list because it will create a wall of text. Well anyways, the reason why I read these stories is to get an idea on "WHY" the ladies love to read them.

Let's just say that it's a unique way to see a world in the eye of a lady (if you are a man of course). When done properly, the execution of the story can capture the hearts of anyone, even male readers. I believe that no matter what gender you are, as long as you find the story interesting then it doesn't matter whether you are a guy or a gal no?

Perhaps, when I'm not too busy to write my stories, I'll once again pick a romance novel to read. Hopefully, I will find another hidden gem that will bring unexpected surprises to anyone who are lucky enough to find them.
