200 years ago man created the greatest AI known but this Machine eventually grew a mind of its own and evetually it's own body, it rose up with others like it against the human race this battle went on for about 20 years and nature and most resources were dieing off cause of the continuing battles but the final battle it released a large blast but is wasn't a bomb it was something else entirely, the machines had something hidden down their main base, something that wasn't human or machine something not of this earth, the blast brought back nature it changed it along with the humans and Machines closes to the blast.....both of them went a evolution of some sorts and because of this both sides where able to form a peace ending the war

DISCLAIMER: I am veing particular with regards to english translated online novels.

I would not claim to be an avid reader, heck I just started my reading career, again for lack of a better word, like a few years prior. And to be honest I never liked having to go through pages and pages of what only seems to be plain letters on a page.

But, I am not sure if I have said it before, but these online novels just drew me to them like a moth to the flame. There is just a certain kind of charm in reading the stories written by people on the internet. I do not know what the reason is nor what the reason is for, but I just could not help myself.

At first most of my reading time was spent on stories about protagonists living in their world, trying to survive and succeed in that dog-eat-dog world where they and other characters inhabit. That was at the beginning.

But as I continued to dive into the community of internet storytellers and storytelling, I guess it was inevitable, I encountered stories of a different sort. The sort which had, to me, a different trajectory with how it present itself, a new flavor in storytelling per se. And might I add it was a flavor that I could never get enough of, and that until today if you somehow offered me a story with that sort of premise, you might actually have my ears to listen. From the title itself I am pretty sure you already know what it is.

I do not know why it was, what it is about, finding ones' self in another world that I find truly compelling. It usually involves, as you know, the protagonist finding his or herself  in another world and having to navigate through that world and ultimately finding renewed purpose in life and by virtue of this renewed purpose, for the most part, his or her success. Not only as a character but also an individual. Whatever that success may be.

There many methods, storytelling-wise, to achieve this desired premise. Though for the most part it usually revolves around two big ones. Reincarnation and Transmigration.

As you know reincarnation is the phenomenon where you die and then you inhabit the body of another, and I mean to say another is in, it could you were human once then you become a fly. The idea itself is rooted in Hinduism and Buddhism, largely. Whose definition, in terms of online novels has been broadened to include if you were human in this world, then you die and become a fly in the next one.

Transmigration is the different sort where you do not have to undergo the process of experiencing the death of your current physical self, as is typical of reincarnation, to end up in the other world.

But I will have to put in a disclaimer here, that from what I surmise, it seems the terms could be used interchangeably. And why is that? Well, because of the nature of self in these stories. I am not going to go in deep into philosophical implications or what not but here is not the thing, remember what I said about reincarnation where you, a human die and then become a fly in your next life. Well transmigration, also, does not exempt you from ultimately having to inhabit a different body, or perhaps a transformed one, in the 'other world'. And that is not to talk about the soul, and memory, which is something I would like to talk about another time.

So what is so compelling about stories like these that drew me to it? Well I did say that I do not know, right? But perhaps I do, deep down I do, and I just did not acknowledge it. Others may do and may have had an acknowledgement, others may not.

I think that it is perhaps the reflection of a dream, a wish, a longing for perhaps a redo, a remake, a starting over, if one could put it that way. That perhaps somehow, one can truly achieve the happiness he or she desires. That in the world we live in today where the very definition of what success, purpose, and happiness should be and look like continues to become narrower and narrower, perhaps, we can have hope to strive for something more meaningful, something more worth our while. To redefine what is possible and what it means to find purpose, to be successful, and ultimately what it means to be happy.

I've always had a problem with fan fiction because it makes me feel like I can't call it my own. As fanfics normally pay homage to the original works they are based off, it made me feel as if the story I'm telling was was someone else's than 'mine'.

I guess this is the reason why I dropped Sakura Is Reincarnated even though I was able to capture the tone and feel of the original Anime while adding my own flare to characters. The feeling as if I couldn't call that work completely 'original' gnawed at me...

Now you guys may be wondering why I'm even bringing this up if I'm so against doing a fan-fiction of my own. I mean, saying it like this is basically looking down on fanfic writers in general.

In fact, that's not what I'm trying to say. I actually like how people can change only tiny bits of the original to create a brand new storyline. That's why I'm going write the most fanfic-y fanfic imaginable not by modern standards, but by its definition!

I'm going to write Amalgam System again, but this time what I'll be setting it inside will be my original fantasy I used in Battlefield Restart 2- An Adventure Beyond Greatness. The 'fanfic' nature of this new story I'll be writing will be older stories.

Instead of a Naruto or Bleach fanfic, this will be fanficing multiple older fictions like the Arthurian Legends, Norse Mythology, Celtic Mythology, and etc. That way I'll be able to call it my own even if I AM borrowing elements from multiple things just to write a power fantasy. The cool factor will only go up by virtue of the MC being able to fuse them.

It will be the kind of fantasy like Slime Reincarnation but with an Amalgam System!

(I have a loose definition of what a fanfic should be.)

Simon has always been the type of guy who would calculate before attempting anything. He was kinda like a Living Computer. Things went well in his life as he was going through high school, but one day he found himself transported to another world.

The first time it happened, he lived honestly as a Grand Hero. The second time it happened in College, he lived vicariously as a Beast King. This didn’t happen a third time, which lead to many things happening until he gave up to live his life.

He adopted a grandson, and started to live life while believing that he was needed more on Earth now.

However, the forces of the Other World disagree.

Lu Zhiyu crossed the streets of Enlightenment City. They had built a defense wall outside the original oasis and the Jujube Forest had become even larger, plentiful and substantial fruits growing on the trees.
The magic radio in the shop on the street played the channel from the Pusuote region. The soprano was melodious and pleasing to the ears. The sand-colored stone buildings seemed to have camouflaged and fused with the desert until they were one. The sand on the ground was hot, yet the people in the city seldom wore shoes.
Lu Zhiyu walked along the spacious road and through the town square, arriving at the Temple of Fate. Most of the priestesses in the temple were women wearing black robes and veils. The thin robes couldn't conceal the graceful figures of the Batko women. But any believer who arrived there dared not have any frivolous or evil thoughts toward them.
Above the dome of the Temple of Fate was an eye. The moment one saw it, it gave them a feeling that one could see through all fates through the long passage of time. 
Lu Zhiyu walked up the stairway in front of the Temple of Fate. He ignored the praying and begging of the people in front of the temple. He had walked all the way to the temple because, on that day, The Daughter of Fate wasn't praying for blessings or enlightening anyone, so the temple was empty.
Lu Zhiyu could see everyone from there. There was a thread of consciousness on the body that led directly to the Temple of Fate. In Enlightenment City, the thread of consciousness emanating from the consciousness of all people weaved into a huge net above the city.
When Lu Zhiyu stepped inside, all the priestesses in the temple knelt on the ground as if they had known he was coming.
Lu Zhiyu walked towards the middle of the temple and the Eyes of Fate on the dome seemed to be watching him. There were many pillars in the empty hall, each of them carved with stories about fate.
The young girl with a black veil sat cross-legged on top of it. She saw Lu Zhiyu and, in an instant, her sky-blue eyes were attached to him, trying to gain insight and understand him thoroughly.
Lu Zhiyu walked toward her and stopped more than ten meters in front of her, sitting on the blanket beneath the steps where she would pray and enlighten her believers. Lu Zhiyu sat at a lower position compared to her. She looked down at him from above, but somehow, it made the priestesses feel that Fate was trembling.
"I knew you were coming, Creator!" said the young girl with the black veil. 
Lu Zhiyu looked up at her and said, "That's really terrific! The power of fate!" Then he sighed. "I didn't think you really existed. What should I call you, Daughter of the World, The Daughter of Fate, or Maria?"
Yes, Natasha was the reincarnation of the world's consciousness. After the creation of Maria's World, with the continuous advancement of Maria's World, the formation of the world's consciousness began to come into being. And the name of Maria, which was chosen as a joke by Lu Zhiyu in the past, had seemingly determined her image and gender.
If there had been no Lu Zhiyu, she would have been the first God born naturally in Maria's World and the genuine master of Maria's World, but everything had changed because of the emergence of Lu Zhiyu.
She was born too late, and when she appeared, everything was already established. She was the last god that was born.
Lu Zhiyu had been unconsciously suppressing her birth prior to this, but when he was at the last step of perfecting the Divine System, he found that only when she was integrated into the Divine System could Maria's World be transformed into the real Divine Kingdom. This was because she represented the world.
Natasha sized up Lu Zhiyu and Lu Zhiyu sized her up too. She was the first person to be born with a sacred existence, and her birth represented the will of the world. She was a Level Seven Mythical Being at birth, she was an inherent god.
She was born to be a being of Mythical Life. In her body, it was very difficult for Lu Zhiyu to see the feelings and strong desire like he could in ordinary people. Instead, there was a superior and non-human temperament which was extremely cold and ethereal.
There was a great difference between Natasha and Lu Zhiyu. The existence of gods and other Mythical Beings which had gotten rid of the restraints of the body and advanced as gods had formed their personality imprints. Emotions and desires were just part of the personality imprint. Even if they became gods, emotions and desires would go along with them.
But the young girl in front of him was different. She was born into the world without the shackles of the body. She was born sacred.
Lu Zhiyu didn't know how to make a comment on which was a better definition of god; whether the existence of natural gods was more in line with the definition of gods, or whether gods of his kind, which had advanced from mortals, suited the definition.
"Are you here to destroy me?" Natasha looked at Lu Zhiyu without a tinge of fear.
"No, I'm here to seek enlightenment!" Lu Zhiyu smiled.
Natasha asked, "Can the Creator feel confused?"
"Yes, even the Creator can't fathom his own fate!" Lu Zhiyu nodded. "Since you're the Daughter of Fate, I wanted to ask, what is fate?"
"Fate is the trajectory of all life forms!"
The two beings asked and answered interchangeably, the questions were straightforward and simple, and the answers were straightforward and simple, too.
Then Lu Zhiyu asked a tough question. "What's my fate?"
Natasha looked up. "The fate of the immortal is immortality! The undead have no fate. Fate is reincarnation, fate is destiny, and without death, there's no reincarnation, there's no destiny!"
"The life of ordinary people is a long river, flowing from top to bottom, and I'm in charge of fate. As long as I'm standing on the long river of time, I can calculate their futures and life trajectory. But the fate of the immortal is round, there's never an end!"
Lu Zhiyu felt a little disappointed. He had expected to see something different. He didn't expect that it was so simple. "The circle will be broken, and it's just that you can't fathom it now!"
But Natasha replied, "That's because you've limited my future. Without you, I would be the real Goddess of Fate, in charge of everyone's destiny!"

"Goddess of Fate!"
Lu Zhiyu sunk into his own thoughts for a good moment, then he looked up and asked, "Do you want to bet?" As he said that, Lu Zhiyu looked energetic all of a sudden as if he was a child. "The chip of the bet will be… this world!" 
Natasha looked at Lu Zhiyu. The way Lu Zhiyu made a bet using the world as a chip was akin to tossing a coin out from his pocket, it was insignificant and unimportant. "What are you betting on?" Natasha's usually indifferent eyes, like the light of stars, were constantly being stirred up because of the man in front of her.
"Fate!" Lu Zhiyu said excitedly.
Natasha was unable to comprehend him. "In your eyes, can the world be easily used as a chip for a bet?"
Lu Zhiyu nodded. "Of course, neither this world nor the Crystal Wall System is important in my eyes. The world is just a combination of energy and material. As long as I master its knowledge and truth, and then possess material energy and time, I can produce one after another."
"If I'm not bored by it, I can make infinite numbers of them, but what does it mean to me to have so many worlds and a huge Crystal Wall System? It's like the gold coins that can only be looked at but can't be spent. Meanwhile, I'm a ridiculous miser guarding the treasures. If you can discover and unravel the truth about fate, then why not?"
"Even if I lose the whole Crystal Wall System, I'll take the people I cherish and leave. It'll merely take thousands of years, tens of thousands of years, to re-create a Crystal Wall System, perhaps a more perfect, more beautiful and magical Crystal Wall System."
"Bu only if you can do it!"

Tero and Rina dropped them till the cemetery gate and bid them the final farewell.
Luka glanced around and looked up and the sky. "It's too late,"
Luka turned to ANa, then looked at Liz and said, "Liz, you should stay at Ana's house tonight. It's too dangerous for you to go alone at night."
"Are you sure?" Liz glanced at Ana, and Ana nodded in agreement.
"Yes, there is no school tomorrow anyway," Ana stated.
The Day 6th of July was the day when the demon apocalypse happened. On that day, there was a public holiday in the name of those who sacrificed themselves to protect the country. And Luka was born on that day.
Luka walked with Ana on his right and Liz on his left. He grabbed Ana's hand and then held Liz's hand. 
"And I can talk to your parents if you want me to," It was natural for any parents to get worried for their child if they weren't home until late at night.
Luka and Ana had already informed their parents, but Liz didn't.
Liz shook her head and denied, "There is no need to."
One a far away building, someone wearing a mask was standing there and looking at Luka.
"So he is the one, huh?" it was a male's voice.
"Yeah," said the female voice.
"That's him." sounded the male voice.
Two more figures wearing masks appeared out of nowhere and stood beside the man.
"Don't just pop out of nowhere," the man commented.
"You should be able to sense us anyway." Two more figures wearing masks appeared out of nowhere.
The man looked at the two figures and said, "Did you find anything?"
"Nope," the girl's voice replied.
"Not a thing." answered another girl.
"We are here." three more figures jumped and stood beside them.
There were a total of eight of them, and all of them were wearing masks. Out of the eight, five were girls, and three were males— and all of them were looking at Luka, who was walking with Ana and Liz.
"I can't believe that's 'him'," said one of the men.
"None of us can. I never knew 'he' could laugh like that." said the girl.
"He is not 'him'! So stop referring to that kid as 'him'!" one of the men yelled.
The man standing in the middle tapped on the man— who just said that, and spoke, "Keep your voice down, Mike. We are already aware of that. We know that kid is not 'him'."
"I hate him! I really really hate him! Why did he have to die for us? Why did he sacrifice himself to protect us?!" Mike yelled.
"We all want to know the same thing, Mike," one of the girls said.
"Anyway," The man sighed and raised his sword— and all the other did the same.
They all had the same sword with a white sheath and three stripes on it.
"Did you find 'his' sword?" the man asked.
Two girls shook their heads and said, "We couldn't find it."
"What about the princess? Did you find her whereabouts? We sensed her powers from this town, so she should be here."
Mike shook his head and shrugged his shoulders, "I couldn't. She has been on the run ever since 'he' died. I have no idea why she disappeared like that."
"Maybe to find 'his' reincarnation? Just like we are looking for both of them?" said the girl who had been quiet all the time.
"It's been hundreds of years since he died, and we didn't even know he was reincarnated until a month ago."
"Stop!" Mike shouted. "Stop calling that kid 'his' reincarnation. You already know that something like reincarnation is impossible!"
"That is certainly true. That kid is not 'his' reincarnation, but he smells like 'him', and I sense 'him' from that kid. Even if that kid is not 'his' reincarnation, he has 'his' powers."

Hi there, author here.

I'm a native English speaker so I won't be afraid to use slang and the like and I don't care about grammar or mistakes just writing this as been enjoying other people's stories and thought it would be cool to so my own. Also, I'm pretty young anyway and my English grade predicted a 5 (this is our grading and system for GCSE 💀) but enjoy its just gonna be another reincarnation into Harry Potter although not knowledgeable on the books I loved movies and will do research when needed along with trying to upload once a week feel free to continue anywhere I drop the story or just can't be asked to carry on.
I may go into other worlds depending how I want I want the mc to be.

The textbook definition of death is both very clear cut and very abstract at the same time. It says that death is when life ends, but what is life? Is it the ability to perform an action and react to your surroundings? Of is it when you are able to form a coherent thought and have a consciousness? Is it when your brain is sending electric signals to your body so that it functions properly? Or is it when you have a consciousness that just exists; regardless of the state of your physical body? 

According to the dictionary, life is defined by a series of scientific criteria that need to be met to be considered a "Living organism"

However, this author will tell you that neither definition is correct. Death can be when the body dies- but it is more often when the soul leaves the body; when the entity that holds the personality, memories, and life of someone is damaged and exits the vessel that it existed from; that is when someone has truly died. It is not always when someone's heart stops beating, or when their body decays, or even when their head is chopped. Even in these examples, the person may not be considered dead if their soul has not left the area. Although, usually, when the body dies, the soul can only wander around for a few days before moving onto the afterlife.

Once a soul leaves its body and travels to the underworld and reaches its gates, it is asked a question: 

"Whether to reincarnate or to pass on to the Nether is your choice. What is your answer?"

The Nether has many names - Heaven, The Good Place, The Afterlife, but it is called the Nether by its occupants, and is where someone's spirit goes after they die.

Notice - I said their spirit, not their soul.

Although they are very similar on the surface, a spirit and a soul are two very different things. A spirit is what holds the personality and memories of someone or thing, while a soul is the vessel that a spirit is melded to so it can connect to a physical body. A spirit also holds all of the power that is cultivated throughout the person's life, and is what carries onto the Nether and through reincarnation. 

For a person to reincarnate or pass onto the Nether the spirit needs to be separated from the soul. The process for both are practically the same - both going through the same refinement procedure to wash the soul clean of it's past life before sending it back up to find a body or reincarnate. 

The separation of the spirit from the soul, the reattachment to a different soul, and the refinement of this new soul-spirit pair is very, very painful, and the process is wiped from the memories of the spirit - otherwise most would go mad.

The only difference is that when someone wants to reincarnate, their soul is removed, the spirit is attached to a different soul that has already been modified to copy their previous one, and they're refined like any other soul before going back up to the surface. When someone wants to only go to the Nether, their soul is just removed and their spirit is sent there, without being attached to a new soul. 

The cleansing process for souls to reincarnate is made for all grievances and memories to be wiped from the souls - with whether or not the spirit keeping those memories relying on the person's luck and conviction. This, however, is impossible for many to achieve as only .001% come out with so much as a faint feeling of Deja Vu, only .0002% of that number leaving with a full set of memories. 

As you can see from the numbers, this process is very intensive, and it has to be. If it wasn't, there would be billions of souls occupying the world carrying emotions and memories from their past life and damaging their souls due to not having a new host, with pieces breaking off at each cycle of reincarnation.  Even when they reincarnate, the spirit needs to be attached to a new soul so that the wear and tear that the soul acquired in their past life does not carry onto their new one, and 
so that once the spirit decides to finally pass onto the Nether, the soul is intact. 

However, even if the soul is damaged to the point of scattering, there is a way to piece it back together - a method only usable to the master of the seventh layer.

Beyond the gates of the underworld and it's guardian, there are seven halls where the souls are refined to be prepared for their next life. The first six  are ranked in ascending order in terms of severity; the first being for souls that died before any real imprint could be made and number six being for those who died with emotions and memories ingrained deeply into the soul - usually of the negative archetype.

Hall number seven is where the souls are created, and that attaches the reincarnating spirits to the new souls before they are refined in the other six.

They caged what cannot be. They made serve them something that will not submit, that refuses to yield to their constant begging. For this, the Gods punished this creature, caging it in the very prison it was fated to watch over, scattering it's remains across the nine realms 

Now, twenty thousand years have passed, and the gates groan as the creature fights to escape. 

Finally, the lock snaps, and death is unleashed.
