As soon as she heard that the hamsters might not be dead, Little Celery stopped crying.
"Store Manager, is that true? Are the hamsters still alive?" Tears welled up in her eyes, as if they would trickle down her cheek again at any given time.
"I think that it's possible. What's not possible is all the hamsters dying at the same time, unless they were poisoned. They might have entered a state of temporary hibernation," Zhang Zian explained.
"That's great!" Little Celery, believing in Zhang Zian's knowledge of animals was relieved.
Zhang Zian still had a stern look on his face because although the hamsters weren't dead, they were in a serious situation. Temporary hibernation is a state hamsters enter as a means of protecting their lives. Whether or not they'll be able to wake up from temporary hibernation, was unclear.
Zhang Zian looked at his surroundings, everyone who woke up early was still looking for the animals that escaped from the breeding base. There probably won't be much business today, so he said, "Little Celery, I don't have much going on today, why don't I go with you to take a look at the hamsters?"
"Okay!" Little Celery nodded. "We don't know what we're doing, so it's probably best if you come."
"Can I enter your school? Zian asked. "Security is strict, right?"
Little Celery thought for a moment. "Let me ask Yaning."
She took out her phone and sent a few messages to Wang Yaning.
Soon, she said, "Yaning said she'll tell her teacher to notify the security.
"Okay, let's go."
Zhang Zian went back into the store to inform Lu Yiyun to look after the store before he left with Little Celery.
His strides were big, one of his steps was equivalent to two of Little Celery's, sometimes she had to run to catch up to him.
Little Celery's was worried, every once in a while, she'd look up at Zhang Zian and ask him more about the hamsters. Although Zhang Zian believed that the hamsters were in a state of temporary hibernation, he was unsure if they'd be able to wake up. He didn't want to lie to Little Celery, so he could only tell her not to panic.
After the Christmas Eve trip, this was Zhang Zian's second time going to Zhonghua Road Primary ever since he graduated.
At Christmastime, the primary school was flooded with parents of students, gathered to watch their children perform. Their vehicles filled the streets outside the main entrance. Today, the main entrance was empty and the school gates were closed, leaving only the side gate by the guard house open.
Little Celery and Wang Yaning's teacher had already notified security. The teacher trusted Zhang Zian because she was once his teacher, too. Most senior primary school teachers spent their career in one school, watching their students graduate and leave to become pillars of the country.
Little Celery led Zian towards the back of the school building. He thought that they were raising the hamsters in class, but it seems like he was wrong.
Behind the building was a line of single-story cabins, the area around the cabins was built like a small garden. A swing swaying in the wind, a grape trellis made of thin bamboo, and a bamboo fence separated the cabins from the main building. When spring came and the flowers bloomed, it had to be a nice view.
The single-story cabin made use of a great number of tempered glass. Zhang Zian could see a few figures in the cabin, and it looked like they were busy.
Little Celery knocked on the door, and Wang Yaning ran over to open the door.
She suspiciously looked at Zhang Zian, and said, "Come in. What did you mean when you said the hamsters weren't dead?"
"Exactly what I said." Zhang Zian looked at the five students, including Little Celery and Wang Yaning who were there. He'd never seen the other three before, they were probably Little Celery's classmates. They all seemed very reserved.
"Where are the hamsters?" Zhang Zian asked.
"Over there." Little Celery pointed towards a shelf right by the window.
On the shelf was a hamster cage, clearly bought from the market, and a small glass fishbowl with wire netting as a cover. There was also a birdcage made out of iron wires being used as a hamster cage, probably brought from a student's home.
The cage was half covered in wood shavings and half covered in litter sand. On the wood shavings side, laid a hamster, either a Djungarian or a Winter White.
"Do you guys have a thermometer?" Zhang Zian asked as he checked the furniture in the room. When he came in earlier, he thought that the cabin was hotter than outside, but it was still pretty cold.
"No, we don't. Why do you need a thermometer?" Wang Yaning replied.
"Hamsters are sensitive to changes in temperature." Zhang Zian explained.
Wang Yaning then asked the others, "Do you guys have one?"
A small boy took out a box from his bag, opening it up to find a small thermometer.
"Is this okay?" the small boy asked.
Zhang Zian took the thermometer from the boy and looked it over, it should be okay for now.
The thermometer stated that the cabin's temperature was around 17 degrees.
"It's too cold." Zhang Zian finally understood the cause of the hamsters' temporary hibernation. He held out the thermometer so that the students could see.
"That's cold? My house isn't even close to 17 degrees!" Wang Yaning said, the other kids agreeing.
Zhang Zian walked over to the cage where the hamsters were, bent down to look inside, then asked, "Why is it covered in wood shavings and litter sand?"
"If we fill it up with just wood shavings, it's hard to manage and the smell is too strong," Wang Yaning answered. "So we thought of the solution to cover it half in wood shavings and half in litter sand. When the hamsters need to go, they walk over to the sand, and when they want to sleep, they go back to the wood shavings."
Zhang Zian shook his head. "First, the temperature is too low. 17 degrees is nice for us, but hamsters aren't used to such cold environments. It's best to keep it above 20 degrees. Second, if you aren't able to maintain the temperature around 20 degrees, you'll have to cover the whole cage with wood shavings to keep them warm. Half wood shavings and half sand is better for spring and fall, then during the summer, use only litter sand.
"Store Manager, you're saying that the hamsters went into temporary hibernation because it's too cold?" Little Celery asked.
"That's right." Zhang Zian rolled up his sleeves. "Now, I need you guys to help me save these hamsters."

 Kipo and Sarah were heading to the snake village and finish their mission to help the hamsters village.
Kipo : so I have asked you this question before.....but I want to see if the answer have changed....what's the plan ?
Sarah : I didn't change the plan yet.....first...we need to do some scouting....but this time I will do it alone....
Kipo : yeah yeah....I know.
After a while of walking they found the snake village, every snake was asleep, because it was daytime, but that does not mean that they can't wake up.
Sarah has already climbed the same tree Kipo fell off of. 
Kipo : I don't like this tree.
Sarah : I don't think the tree was the problem fatty...
Kipo : I'm not fat.....right ?
Kipo then checked her belly but it was flat.
Kipo in her mind : meh....I'm not fat.
Sarah started looking for any snake that might be awake, but she saw no one, she climbed down the tree and started to look with Kipo in the houses of the village through the windows, they saw many snakes, different sizes and heights, when Sarah saw them she realized that they can't win a fight against these creatures.
Sarah whispered : we have to leave....before we wake one of them up.....if one is up...all are up....let's go.
After they left the village and got far away from it, Kipo was confused of what's the matter.
Kipo : so what's next.....how will we take them out ?
Sarah : we won't.
Kipo : what ?....why ?
Sarah : you don't know much about biology.....do you ?
Kipo : I'm an astronomy scientist....of course I don't know anything about biology.
Sarah : snakes contain venom....this venom can do many different things to it's victim....some hurt...some immobilize....some make you bleed.....and some kills....one drop of a giant snake's venom is enough to kill you at least in like 2 minutes.....there is no way any of us will survive a fight with them.
Kipo : but how do we help the hamsters ?.....we have to.
Sarah : we need to find another way that doesn't involve violence.....unfortunately.
Kipo : we could get Zet.....if violence is still an option.
Sarah : if we do this fight even with Zet.....he might be the only survivor in it.....and that's a maybe.
Kipo : do we head to back to the hamster village now ?
Sarah : I think I have a plan....but we need Zet for it to work.....let's go to his tree house.
After a long walk, the night is almost sitting and it started raining, they have finally reached Zet's house, when they arrived Sarah climbed up to the door and broke it open, she knows that he's not in it.
Kipo : that was very unnecessary of you.
Sarah : sure....we can wait outside if you want.
Kipo : fine....
Sarah : we'll wait for him....he should be back soon.
The girls waited in the tree house for almost 10 minutes, then they heard Zet coming back.
When Zet came in he was surprised to see his door open, he summoned lightning in his hands before going to see who broke his door, he then climbed up and aimed immediately at the first thing he spotted.
Kipo : don't shoot !!
Sarah : oh hey Zet.....thought you'd never come back.
when Zet saw who broke in his house he turned off his lightning hands.
Zet : oh....it's you two....you couldn't more rude than this you know....oh...and hey Kipo.
Sarah : glad to see you too.....you know I broke into my house too.
Kipo : hi Zet.
Zet : what do you want ?
Sarah : long story....we need your help...and no...we're not going to kill or hurt anyone....this time.
Zet : fill me in.
Sarah : so recently we visited a village.....it was the hamsters village....they're dying slowly almost every night.....they're getting hunted by the snakes....they will eventually all die unless they get help.
Zet : and YOU want to help them?....I'm truly shocked...
Sarah : not me precisely....but yes...I do.
Zet : so what's the plan ?
Kipo : well....we tried to fight the snakes at first.....but luckily we realized we can't kill one of them without dying first.
Zet : you just found out?.....the snake that was chasing me was a blind snake.....but also a dumb one....it couldn't speak like the rest....but because it can't see it could hear and smell better than the rest of it's kind.....that one was average height and size to them....no one can miss with these guys and survive....I was lucky to find water on my way.
Kipo : wow....the mutation event did a real number on them.
Sarah : we need to go back to the hamsters village and see how they're holding up.
Zet : let's go then.
A while has passed when they were walking, and suddenly Zet asked Kipo in private.
Zet : hey does she know about what I told you ?
Kipo : no....I did not tell her anything.....yet.
By the time Zet and Kipo finished their private conversation, they have already arrived to their destination, the hamsters village.
Sarah : we're here.
Kipo was glad to see the population of this village didn't decrease as much as she thought.
Kipo : hi everyone !
The hamsters looked at her for a short while without saying any word.
Kipo : right...depression.
Zet : anybody cares to explain what's up with them ?
Kipo : they're usually depressed because of the snake attacks.
Sarah : and we're about to change this.
Sarah then headed to a high place, high enough to be able to gather all the hamsters in one place.
Sarah : alright everyone.....who's of you sick of the snakes attacks almost every night ? 
Many hamsters lift their hands up, while many others just left, they did not want to change anything and accept their fate by ending up eaten by a snake.
Sarah : we can change all of this.
The village chief : we won't fight them.
Sarah : why the hell does everyone find violence the first solution to everything....
Zet : what do you mean ?.....you did that too !
Sarah : shut up.....anyway....we have a plan to make you all safe from the snakes once and for all.
Some of the hamsters that left came back, they wanted to hear this plan before judging.
Sarah : but we need your help with this....if this plan works...none of you will ever be eaten by a snake again.
The villager chief : we're listening.
Sarah : we can change this whole village's location to somewhere else where they won't find you....and we will make decoys in these houses....so they won't suspect anything.....when they find out that you all left it will be too late for them...you would already be gone.
The village chief : but what about when they come at night ?
Sarah : this is why we have this guy.....everyone....meet Zet....he can control lightning and stuff...
Zet : hi everyone.....
Sarah then whispered to Zet.
Sarah : show them....
Zet : oh yeah.....this will hurt.
He then showed off his powers to the hamsters, they were impressed, more of those who left started to come back, this plan was destined to succeed.
Kipo : NOW they're interested.
Sarah : he will be able to keep them away at night.....we will work hard for it....but it will be worth it....unless you all want to be randomly picked as snakes dinner.
The village chief : do you have more details? 
Sarah : yes....but for now...that's all you need to know to judge.....so...do you agree to save yourselves ?
The hamsters finally let out a small smile on their faces, the village chief nodded in agreement, Sarah nodded back, she was excited for her plan to work.
Sarah : alright then.....let's get to work !
Zet : wait...who came up with this idea ?
Kipo : I didn't even know about it.....all Sarah.
Zet : not bad.....not bad...so what we should do first ?
Sarah : ok....Kipo....go get wood from the forest....get a group with you...gather as much sticks as you can find.
Kipo : got it !
Sarah : and Zet....I need you to keep an eye on the snakes at all time....keep them away from here as much you can....if you're part fails....the whole plan fails.
Zet : no pressure huh ? 
Sarah : relax....we both know you got this....
Zet : speak for yourself.....but sure.
The village chief : and what's our part ? 
Sarah : work on transferring all your stuff outside of the village....and I will go and find a new place for you to live in.
The chief nodded in agreement.
The village chief : thank you....for all of this.
Sarah nodded with a faint smile on her face.
Sarah then left the village to look for the villager's new home. 
Hours have passed, the night has started to set, Sarah found 3 different places, she can't make the choice herself, it's all up to the chief to decide, it's time for her to get back.
when Sarah came back she saw progress being made, they are desperate to live a happy normal life.
Kipo and Zet had already came back after hard long day of work.
Sarah : Zet....report.
Zet : they don't show any action all day....only night....
Sarah : good news.....you'll have time to rest in the day.
Zet : heading to do my job. 
Sarah : and what about you Kipo ? 
Kipo leaded Sarah into one of the houses where she put all the sticks she gathered, it was a massive pile of sticks .
Kipo : is this enough ? 
When Sarah saw the pile she was surprised.
Sarah : more than enough....good job.....you can go get some rest now.
Kipo : you're not coming ?
Sarah : I'll be late....I need to speak with the chief.
Kipo : ok....see you later.
Sarah then went to speak with chief, he was in a private meeting with a group of villagers, she heard them talking about her and her group, she decided to hide in a place where they won't see her and started to listen. 
Villager : we have to do this....it will be way better than her plan.
Villager : but they're trying to help us.
Village chief : they're humans....we can't trust them....we have to do it....
Villager : it's simple....we capture them when they are defenseless....we deliver them to him and we will be rewarded with a wish....as he usually does....and he will get rid of all the snakes....he doesn't like them anyway.
Village chief : we will capture them tomorrow at dawn....be ready for them....we know where they live.
Sarah was surprised by this, it was all a trap, they were betraying them all this time, she had to do something fast, she ran away from the village without anyone seeing her and headed straight to their tent, when she arrived their she found Kipo sleeping. 
Sarah : Kipo wake up!
Kipo : woah....what's going on ? 
Sarah : pack the tent....we need to leave now.
Kipo : what ?....why ?....what happened ?
Sarah : I will explain later....but now we need to find Zet.....pack everything and wait here....I'll go call Zet....be right back.
Sarah then ran and searched for a 2 rocks and a stick, she then climbed a big tree as fast as she could and started to set the stick on fire, she then howled as loudly. 
Zet heard it, he looked up at the sky.
Sarah then set the stick on fire and threw it up in the sky.
Zet saw it and ran back to her as fast he could.
Zet has arrived.
Zet : what's the emergency ?
Sarah : no time to explain now....we need to get to Kipo.
Zet and Sarah then ran back to Kipo, she already finished packing the tent.
Sarah : Kipo....when you went to get the sticks....did you pass by Zet's house ? 
Kipo : yes....multiple times....there were many broken trees in that area.....is there anything wrong ?
Zet : I live next to the lumber cats....
Sarah : oh no....the tree house is compromised....we need to get all the stuff you need in that house and leave...now.
Zet : are you going to say what's happening ? 
Sarah : they're frauds....they were trying to capture us all this time....apparently they know that were humans and they're going to deliver us to him.
Zet : him ?
Sarah : I don't know either....they kept saying him....they are going to attack us at dawn....we need to hurry and get your important stuff and ditch that place....now !
Zet : let's go.
They ran to Zet's tree house, there was no one there, they had to hurry, when they arrived they were about to get in, but Zet stopped them outside.
Zet : stop here....I won't take long.
Sarah nodded.
Kipo : ok.
after 15 minutes Zet came out of the tree house with a backpack.
Zet : alright....I'm ready...let's get away from this place.
After Zet finished packing they all headed in the opposite direction of the hamsters village.
They have been walking all night, they were all tired, they needed to sleep, when they walked far enough from the hamsters village, they found a spot to set the camp in, it was in the forest, where the trees will give them cover to protect them from their enemies.
Everyone was tired, but Zet was angry, he waited for the girls to sleep then he flew back to hamsters village, when he arrived he sneaked into the house where Kipo stashed all the sticks, he grabbed a big amount and sat them all on fire and threw them at the villager's houses burning many houses they were sleeping in, he then flew back to the camp, he found Sarah waiting for him.
She was worried about him.
Sarah : where were you ? 
Zet : they took my home away.....so I took theirs.
Sarah : so much for laying low....
Zet did not respond, he was very mad, he can kill the whole village in a matter of minutes, but his conscious will always prevent him from killing.

The story revolves around 
8 kids who have different powers in a world where humanity is in a war against mutated animals.

Dani cried from the very fear of being left alone. Logan was reminding Vanessa that not all enemies need to be defeated in the Isekai Game. In fact, many themes require little engagement. Ready to roll out, Vanessa sat firmly on a hamster. Her eyes were dedicated to the radar. Whereas her team was to keep an eyes out for airborne enemies again. 
 
They dead sprinted from bush to bush. No enemy spotted them as they made it to the cliffs. Not even the birds spotted them.

Once at the Cliffs, no tunnels were tracked. But a pack of foxes was smelled. Vanessa kept the hamster calm with the fact they couldn't detect them on the radar. Logan reminded her that hamsters have poor sight and rely on their sense of smell and feel. In response, she led her team up the cliff, keeping them near rocks to avoid most predators.
 
While running towards the top of a cliff, Vanessa detected trampling nearby. Obviously, it was foxes. They seemed to have caught an animal. In a small hole. It was possibly a rabbit or some other critter. But a hunch said otherwise.
 
They ran towards the tremors with what little life they had left. Everybody except the hamster wanted to puke what little air they had. That didn't stop them from getting near the action.
 
A fox threw a hamster in the air. Another fox dug it into the dirt. Its bloody cries meant nothing to the predators. Three others were digging out the tunnel for more. Mimi pointed out a boulder near the hole they could use to dig out the rest of the hamsters. In their weakened state, Vanessa's team did just that.
 
 
On the other side of the boulder, they dug out a tunnel to connect to reach underground. None of the foxes noticed them. Yet, another hamster was heard crunching within the jaws of a fox. Its voiceless cries hasted Vanessa to rush her tea. They could dig faster and their earth magic was practically useless in softening the dirt. On the radar, Vanessa saw another tunnel being dug out their way. The end of the tunnels fell forward onto two digging hamsters.
 
 
'Quick, we need to run away and join the rest of your hamster friends," said Vanessa.
 
 
Behind the digging hamsters was an elderly grey one that rejected, "We can't. There're too many foxes. We have to defeat them".
 
 
Mimi and Logan were quietly making fun of the hamsters for having no abilities to defeat the foxes. Their smiles for crunching hamsters contrasted the point of tears that was on Vanessa's face. She begged for guidance from the elderly hamster, but he had none.
 
 
"Nothing we can do," said Mimi.
 
Logan's fingers were crossed hoping Vanessa could figure out the two sensible things she could do. The first was to obviously shut the old rodent up and escape as soon as possible. Their time was dwindling away by the second. In her moment of desperation, a clarity struck Vanessa that forced her to grab the elder hamster's paw.

"This is cool, kinda," said Mimi ready for Vanessa's next move.
 
"It's laaaame!" yelled Logan in anger.
 
The foxes looked over towards Vanessa's team standing in a line. Her katana was held back. The smirk on her face taunted the foxes more than their hunger. Leaving the three half-chewn hamsters behind, the five foxes charged towards their new prey.
 
 
"Hamster magic!" yelled Vanessa causing her blade to light up, "Gooooo"!
 
She sliced her blade at Logan without hitting him. He sprinted towards the foxes like bait.
 
 
One fox dummied itself to snap at him. The moment its teeth gripped on him, Vanessa tilted her blade with a single hand on the elder hamster.
 
 
A magic shield surrounded Logan, in the form of a sphere, that smashed the fox's teeth. As the fox cried, he kept running into it until another smacked him away with its paw.
 
Logan's path was instructed by an arrow from the isekai system. The foxes evaded him as he was instructed to run off at a high speed.
 
The fox that smacked him was knocked down by a rolling Mimi that remained curving into it. Each hit was sliced a row of blades cutting into the fox. By the time it got away, a portion of its skin was torn off.
 
 
 
One fox sprinted towards Vanessa who was with two hamsters and an elder. The others remained in a pack trying to smack Mimi away.
 
 
 
Kiki was well-timed to run into to crowd of foxes. She smashed a few noses and tore a few paws. More importantly, she allowed Mimi to regain control of her path to steer back into the predators.
 
 
When the single fox got near the fox, Vanessa smacked her blade towards a hamster. A sphere appeared around it as it ran into the fox.
 
The fox easily dodged the hamster but was met with a direct hit from Logan in his little sphere bubble.
 
As Logan smashed into its side, Vanessa launched another hamster to hit the fox's face. The fox jumped and cried into the air. Blood splashed across the spheres.
 
 
The foxes ran away defeated. The one that got close to Vanessa was severely wounded but still managed to escape. Everybody regrouped next to Vanessa, leaning over their knees.
 
 
"Damn, Vanessa. How- you gonna- kill foxes with hamsters?" asked Mimi panting in her speech.
 
 
Vanessa briefly explained it was from using the elder hamster's magic with her young body. Sure it was limited and her magic power was low. However, with good planning, she could lead everybody to victory.
 
Despite their victory, they still needed to unite the hamsters. It was only then the elder hamster would be strong enough to bestow Vanessa the hamster power she came for. Simple enough, she guarded the hamsters to dig out a full tunnel while her team guards them. It was only afterward they would leave to link up with Dani.

Just a place where I can freely write and publish drafts for future events of my story.

"Nothing we can do," said Mimi. 

Logan's fingers were crossed hoping Vanessa could figure out the two sensible things she could do. The first was to obviously shut the old rodent up and escape as soon as possible. Their time was dwindling away by the second. In her moment of desperation, a clarity struck Vanessa that forced her to grab the elder hamster's paw.

"This is cool, kinda," said Mimi ready for Vanessa's next move. 

"It's laaaame!" yelled Logan in anger. 

The foxes looked over towards Vanessa's team standing in a line. Her katana was held back. The smirk on her face taunted the foxes more than their hunger. Leaving the three half-chewn hamsters behind, the five foxes charged towards their new prey. 

"Hamster magic!" yelled Vanessa causing her blade to light up, "Gooooo"! 

She sliced her blade at Logan without hitting him. He sprinted towards the foxes like bait. 

One fox dummied itself to snap at him. The moment its teeth gripped on him, Vanessa tilted her blade with a single hand on the elder hamster. 

A magic shield surrounded Logan, in the form of a sphere, that smashed the fox's teeth. As the fox cried, he kept running into it until another smacked him away with its paw. 

Logan's path was instructed by an arrow from the isekai system. The foxes evaded him as he was instructed to run off at a high speed. 

The fox that smacked him was knocked down by a rolling Mimi that remained curving into it. Each hit was sliced a row of blades cutting into the fox. By the time it got away, a portion of its skin was torn off. 

One fox sprinted towards Vanessa who was with two hamsters and an elder. The others remained in a pack trying to smack Mimi away. 

Kiki was well-timed to run into to crowd of foxes. She smashed a few noses and tore a few paws. More importantly, she allowed Mimi to regain control of her path to steer back into the predators. 

When the single fox got near the fox, Vanessa smacked her blade towards a hamster. A sphere appeared around it as it ran into the fox. 

The fox easily dodged the hamster but was met with a direct hit from Logan in his little sphere bubble. 

As Logan smashed into its side, Vanessa launched another hamster to hit the fox's face. The fox jumped and cried into the air. Blood splashed across the spheres. 

The foxes ran away defeated. The one that got close to Vanessa was severely wounded but still managed to escape. Everybody regrouped next to Vanessa, leaning over their knees. 

"Damn, Vanessa. How- you gonna- kill foxes with hamsters?" asked Mimi panting in her speech. 

Vanessa briefly explained it was from using the elder hamster's magic with her young body. Sure it was limited and her magic power was low. However, with good planning, she could lead everybody to victory. 

Despite their victory, they still needed to unite the hamsters. It was only then the elder hamster would be strong enough to bestow Vanessa the hamster power she came for. Simple enough, she guarded the hamsters to dig out a full tunnel while her team guards them. It was only afterward they would leave to link up with Dani.

The Isekai Game is a vigorous sport where players battle in a variety of themes each month. From magic, alchemy, melee combat, gun slinging, themes, players are forced to fight each other and monsters alike. 



Vanessa finally has her shot at playing and making it to the pro leagues to live a life of wealth, fame, and adventure. But when her small guild of misfits is threatened by an in-game assassin and her "ghost" warns her of a traitor, she feels at the end of her ropes. 



Will her new Isekai family stay together and make it to the pro leagues. Or will this traitor succeed at tearing them apart along with the harsh nature of the game?

I know my first 2 chapters are confusing. I literally give the first 65 chapters free. My story has a "Do now, explain later" rhythm to it. The characters you read on in the first two chapters get fleshed out in the next two chapters.

Obviously, his words enraged the gold-seeking hamsters. All the hamsters glared at him as if they were going to swallow him alive.
Resting his little paws on his hips and keeping his chin up, Milk Tea walked through the hamsters and stopped in front of Mu Qingran, putting his little paws on the toes of Mu Qingran.
"Our lives are cheap? Then I'll show you, in our eyes, one gold-seeking hamster's life is way more precious than all your lives added up!"
After saying this, Milk Tea turned his eyes to Meng Meng behind him and winked at her, as if waiting for her praise.
Meng Meng sweetly smiled at him. Her smile, like the sunshine, instantly warmed Milk Tea's heart and made his little heart thump wildly.
"I'll give you a chance. Set my tribesman free, or else I will eat you alive, leaving no corpse for you."
Encouraged by Meng Meng's smile, Milk Tea turned around and stepped harder on Mu Qingran's toes. Mu Qingran almost collapsed, his face turned from blue to pale, and his pupils gradually dilated.
Did this hamster just speak?
Was this gold-seeking hamster speaking to him just now?
Was it a god-level spirit cultivator?
If Yun Xiao was not that strong, or Ye Ximo didn't show up, maybe Mu Qingran would be ecstatic when he met this god-level gold-seeking hamster. But now his heart was filled with despair...

"Master," Milk Tea turned to Yun Luofeng and said, "I will deal with this matter and take these people to the Mu Family. You just need to wait here for us."

"Ever played other VRMMMOs games before?"
Chikinsupu asked Bob.
"I don't recall ever playing vee are eminem o's before. What are those?"
Bob replied while still staring at the horned rabbit that was in his sight. He was alert and he clenched his behind. It seems Bob has experienced a trauma.
Hearing Bob's reply, Chikinsupu laughed.
"Haha. Dude. For real? Stop pulling my leg." Chikinsupu now accepted Bob's silliness.
"Hahaha, why are we laughing?"
"Hahaha. Give me a moment."
Chikinsupu found Bob's roleplaying ridiculous but he learned to just enjoy the act. He soon finished collecting himself and looked at Bob's idiotic face.
"Pfft. Hahahaha"
"What's so funny?"
"Haha. Forgive me."
Chikinsupu stopped for a moment and once again collected himself. He will now continue what he was supposed to ask Bob.
"So, Bob. You've never played VRMMOs before?"
"I don't even know what those are."
"Hmm. At this point, I can no longer tell whether you're joking or not."
Chikinsupu looked at Bob with an inquisitive gaze. All he could find within Bob's visage was confusion without a hint of guilt for lying.
'He's telling the truth.'
Chikinsupu realized that Bob was not just any noob in Immersion online.
'He's a boomer, isn't he?'
"Then I'll explain to you how combat works in VRMMOs. First, virtual reality is just like real life."
Chikinsupu began explaining about the game mechanics. He was having a hard time dumbing down techinical terms so that idiots like Bob could understand.
In Immersion Online, you could move your avatar(character) according to your will but the speed and power of your actions are based on your stats. For example, a child playing with 10 STR could bring as much power as a trained martial artist with 10 STR.
However, there will always be a difference due to technique. The power distribution towards a target will always matter when it comes to hitboxes in an online game.
Hitting a leg does less damage than hitting the stomach or the head. The importance of technique made the game popular within Asia because of the skill cap.
But it does not mean to say that regular players do not stand a chance against trained players. That is where stat superiority comes in, where even technique could not overcome.
"So what I need you to do is observe. What do you think about the nature of your opponent?"
"You mean the horned rabbit?"
"Yes. I meant the horny rabbit."
Chikinsupu pointed towards another player that was brawling with a horned rabbit.
"What I need you to remember, is that you never show your back against an aggressive enemy."
'Because this one in particular with **** you.'
Bob took Chikinsupu's words to heart. He was learning for the first time in his life. What Chikinsupu didn't know was that his words today were what will drive Bob forward.
"Okay. I'm ready to fight!" Bob said with confidence.
"Good luck."
Bob walked towards a horned rabbit garnered its attention. He took a fighting stance with his sword and focused his gaze towards the rabbit.
'I won't lose again.'
He thought as his butt clenched. There was a phantom feeling that he just couldn't shake off.
"Hup!"
Bob moved forward with his sword. He was not trained with the sword but he somehow managed to do a proper lunge. A miracle.
'Ah. I forgot to tell him that he can't fight a Lvl 2 rabbit while being Lvl 1.' Chikinsupu slapped his forehead at this thought.
In other words. Bob got hit by a kick that was faster than he could move. The rabbit's kick was not fast but the limit of a level 1 body was trash. So despite seeing the attack, Bob could not evade and got kicked back.
Bob was thrown back and fell to the ground. This time, he was face up so the rabbit could not do its signature thrusts so it just continued assaulting Bob with its kicks.
'He's going to die. I should intervene.'
Chikinsupu jumped into battle and drove the rabbit away. The rabbit was dissatisfied because it felt it got blocked but it still moved away.
"Sorry, Bob. I forgot to tell you about the importance of levels. Especially when just starting the game."
Every level up gives a player 10 default points to distribute to their stats. For example, a level 50 player would have a default 500 stat point distribution, and a level 51 would have 510 stat points.
The rational difference between the two was negligible and the difference between skill and items would change the outcome if they were to fight.
The case is different for low-level players though. A level 1 player only has 5 as default stat points for each stat. That meant that their STR and AGI were at 5 by default.
Now imagine a level 2 player that put all of his points to STR, that would mean that the player now has 15 STR which is 300% more than the level 1's.
"It's alright. So how do you think I should level up for now?" Bob asked. He was not bothered by another loss.
"You should get some tutorial quests first, they give a good amount of experience and you could level up to 3 by the quests alone."
Chikinsupu explained about tutorial quests to Bob. And he got to thinking, about which NPCs within Bagel Village.
'Now that I think about it. This guy is way too similar to Bob the Barn Owner. Is this guy an NPC?'
Chikinsupu grew suspicious of Bob. He was certain that Bob was a player because he was autonomous and roamed around.
'His stupidity is questionnable too.'
Now, Chikinsupu could not tell whether or not Bob was a player or not. So he decided to confirm it and that is by-
"Hey, Bob! How about we party up?"
Inviting Bob to a party. It should not be possible to invite NPCs to your party. In cases that they join your party is when you are doing a quest that nobody wants. Escort quests.
"Party? Okay!" Bob replied with glee. He thought that they will attend a celebration. Common mistake.
*Chikinsupu invites you to a party.
*You have accepted the party invitation.
*Party has been created with Chikinsupu as the party leader.
'Oh? He's a player then?'
Chikinsupu cleared his suspicions. Bob was a player, not an NPC. But what he didn't know was that the two were not exclusive of each other.
"Is this it?" Bob disappointingly asked.
"Hmm? Yea, now we can share experience point when we kill monsters. But for now, you should do the beginner quests."
Chikinsupu busied himself with his menu.
*Chikinsupu sent you a friend request.
"Hmm? Friend request?" Bob said.
"Just accept it. I'm here to help you understand games, old man."
*You are now friends with Chikinsupu.
"Oh. We're friends now?"
"Yes. To tell you the truth, I have to go so I'll have to teach you next time." Chikinsupu explained.
"Oh? Where are you going?"
"I have afternoon classes so I'll see you later when I'm done with them. Just do the tutorials for now, and whatever you do, don't die while exploring by yourself."
Bob thought about Chikinsupu's statement. He remembered a prompt that he saw a while back.
"Oh. I won't die." He confidently said.
"Of course you won't. Just be careful, exploding hamsters are just beyond the outskirts so stay here until I log in, You got that?"
Bob nodded his head but he didn't take Chikinsupu's words seriously. Likewise, Chikinsupu also didn't take Bob's confidence about not dying seriously.
*Your friend Chikinsupu has logged off. (Connection Terminated.)
"Woah. He just disappeared!"
Bob was surprised that his friend suddenly vanished. He saw this phenomenon frequently but he never understood what that meant.
"Let's see. He said to go beyond the outskirts, right?"
And so, Bob the airhead did not follow his friend's advice. He avoided all of the Horned Rabbits that he saw and made his way towards beyond the outskirts.
Bang!
Bob could now hear explosions. The explosions were not of an exorbitant magnitude but they were loud enough to ring for dozens of meters.
"Wow. Are those the Exploding Hamsters Chikinsupu was talking about?"
Bang!
An explosion went off under Bob's feet. Bob was blown away and took a lot of damage from the explosion.

*Your HP is set back to Minimum.
*You have gained a huge amount of experience from exterminating a monster 4 levels above your own.

"Wowowowowowow" Bob was still rolling due to the force of the explosion.
Exploding hamsters are monsters that kill themselves upon contact with a player. They were intentionally put within a low-level area to force coordination between players.
Immersion Online, in essence, is a game for socializing. The developers thought that giving an early challenge would force players to properly party with each other and get through the perilous plains to reach the nearest city.
The hamsters were a good source of experience for new players but the huge amount of damage they cause exhausts a party's resources. Therefore, the hamsters were not a monster to continuously grind.
One reason is that there was a risk of dying, and dying causes the death penalty. Another reason is that when players are strong enough to withstand the explosions, they became high leveled enough that the exp was worth nothing.
Therefore, the hamsters were never farmed by anyone.

The last Goblin, who was laden with various pieces of equipment and items, fell to the ground with a thud.
Sherlock walked out of the Dungeon Core Main Hall and looked at the large pile of trash outside.
Sherlock picked up the fallen gamers and piled them in a corner. He didn't bother with the items that fell from the backpacks to the ground.
He walked around the Dungeon once. At the Living Quarters, the first level of the building was incomplete. There were many Goblins lying inside in a mess.
After pondering, he went inside and counted the Goblins. Then he counted the Goblins in the corner. There were exactly a hundred gamers. 
All the gamers went offline in the Dungeon. He felt that it was a good habit.
He turned around and noticed Brainiac, who looked puzzled.
"Lord Sherlock, I…" Brainiac had just spoken when Sherlock raised his hand and interrupted him.
"I know what you're going to ask. Don't ask. Young lads have to contemplate, then it will be meaningful. If you've never encountered setbacks, what's the use of society?"
Brainiac lowered his head and pondered. Sherlock patted his shoulders and said, "Brainiac, I know what you're thinking. Broaden your heart, have more confidence and be strong."
"Lord Sherlock…" Brainiac lifted his head, and his empty eye sockets were wet.
Sherlock gave Brainiac advice as he walked towards the Dungeon Core Main Hall.
"As my servants are extremely strong, there will be many instances your confidence will take a beating. There are many things you have to learn over here, Brainiac."
Sherlock left, and Brainiac gazed at Sherlock's large back view.
"Didn't Lord Sherlock say he's unable to manipulate a Lich who has no heart?" When Sherlock returned to the Dungeon Core Main Hall, Bru, who had been quiet for some time, abruptly spoke. 
"No, no, no, I'm just stating the truth," Sherlock said as he switched on his computer.
"Because you kept quiet, I thought you were swallowed by that Dungeon Core."
"Lord Sherlock likes to jest," Bru said. "Let's discuss the issues surrounding the announcement of the Second Beta, Lord Sherlock."

After two months of Beta Testing, 'Dungeon: Eternal Kingdom' was greatly loved by gamers based on its casual gameplay, endearing difficulty, no hardship, and sunny graphic style. 
The end of registration for the Second Beta Testing was today. The number of applicants reached 2,560,000! 
The game development team spent long hours selecting 2,000 gamers for the Second Beta Testing. Please check your mailboxes and follow the instructions accordingly. 
The Second Beta Testing will commence once the current maintenance is completed.
The current maintenance schedule will last for two days. The official resumption of service and commencement of the Second Beta Testing will be on the 10th of May at 12:10 pm.

The following are the content previews of the Second Beta Testing and Version 0.15 Update: 
1: Purchased new servers that increased the gamers count to 2,000. The maximum capacity is 2,100.
2: Improved the Reputation System.
Reputation Points: Reputation Points will be used as a special currency.
The activities of the gamers, such as the Daily Construction Missions and Daily Materials Gathering Missions, will garner Reputation Points.
The Reputation Points can be used to increase the gamer's Reputation Level, which will no longer be automatically upgraded. Once the required Reputation Level is attained, the Reputation Points can be used to change to a new Race and Profession for the missions. Reputation Points can also be used to learn special skills and for future functionalities.
Creating new characters after death will no longer have the full Reputation penalty. The deduction of the Reputation Points will vary according to the gamers' race. The Reputation Level will not be downgraded. 
3: Added new Races.
Gnome: As the Dungeon's main force, their numbers are only second to Goblins. As the most common creature of the Underworld, the Gnome's strength, agility, and intelligence are superior to a Goblin. The Gnome has a Mana affinity, and their body is able to feel Mana.
Added special Gnome mission, The Way of the Gnome.
Houndhead Man (To be added): A low intelligence creature who lives in caves and whose combat power is inferior to a Gnome. Because of their ties to the Dragon family, they have great Mana affinity, but due to their low intelligence, none of the Houndhead Men are able to use Mana. Lord Sherlock is attempting to interact with these creatures to see if they can be integrated into Eternal Kingdom. 
Developing special Houndhead Man mission, The Way of the Houndhead Man.
4: Punishment System in development.
To protect order in Eternal Kingdom, the Punishment System will be used to deal with obnoxious gamers who are disrupting the proper gaming culture. It is currently in development.
The aforementioned are the main updates for Version 0.15. More details of the Second Beta will be included in a future version update.

Sherlock checked the contents of the update. After ensuring there were no errors, he published it.
"Lord Sherlock, you have to prepare gift packs for the hundred First Beta Gamers and more Mana isolating cloth. If possible, obtain a Huge Dragon too. Then, we can add the Houndhead Man profession. The workload of the NPCs will increase substantially after recruiting 2,000 gamers. Consider the feelings of Simba, Mufasa, and Moroes. "Good, we can begin now!"
The fat Hamster pulled the curtains and stood by the side. The other two Hamsters stood up too.
The swollen-faced Hamster grabbed some black powder and tossed it into the fire stove. The flames grew in height, and the entire room lit up.
The room started quaking, and the ceiling had a large open mouth. 
"Ke—Pui!"
Water saliva dripped down and flooded the three Hamsters and the towering flames.
The ceiling opened its mouth and spouted vulgarities. "(Censored), all of you! Setting my hotel on fire? You (censored). I've informed the police! You'll be in jail for the rest of your lives!"
The three Hamsters looked at the ceiling that had gone back to normal. Then, they looked at the extinguished fire stove.
"Boom!"
The flames grew in height again, and they had a blue human silhouette. The silhouette turned her head to look around before speaking intermittently in a gentle female voice. "What has happened? Why is… so bad? Can hear… why are… in this state?"
"Lady!"
"We hear you!"
"We found Lord Sherlock!"
The three Hamsters said together. The swollen-faced Hamster grabbed some powder and thought for a while. Then, he threw the whole bag into the stove.
"Boom—!
Blue flames towered over them. The human figure became clear, and the intermittent voice became a loud holler.
"What? Sherlock? You've found him? Where is he?"
"Lady!"
"You're too loud!"
"He's at Winterfell. More or less."
"Find him! Convey my message to him. Once I'm done over here, I'll look for you."
The blue flames extinguished on her last word.
The three Hamsters looked at each other and spoke simultaneously.
"What message? Did Lady convey any message?"
"Can't remember."
"Is it mealtime?"
"Pom—!"
A strong armored arm bashed through the room door. The scent of scattered wood shavings pervaded the air. The arm started searching around for the door handle.
"You're under arrest! You arsonists! Open the door!" the voice outside shouted.
