What would you do with your powers of being the host of the darkforce the primordial embiodment of the darkness. The powers of creation, space, telekinesiss and many more powers but the worst is the hunger gnawing in my gut as I feel incomplete that is until I met her the light of my life.
The light of destruction capable of much good but just as much evil if going down wrong path.
Darkness and light two sides two of a hole one cannot exist without the other will they be each other’s  salvation or destruction.


This story will mainly follow cloak and dagger the tv show it will have changes and more exploration of powers and world at large it will be darker I will also include X-men first class, apocalypse along with the tv show the gifted that will be a consequence of the actions of x men apocalypse story line. Tbh these are the powers they should be capable of wielding if they were not watered down fear not the 13 artififacts will keep things interesting but light and dark are not enemies I repeat.

Also this is not harem as cloak and dagger are essentially soul mates but I might add a third person who will have to be a artifact holder or someone from there past life in this story cloak nor dagger is truly human nor are they mutants or mutates but much much more some things are deeper then fleshly bodies.

After dying gruesomely against the mystery man Jake finds himself back in the white plane.

After reading each quest thoughtfully a single thought ran through his mind

With an unconscious smile on his face he asked wiki.

Wiki seemed to think for a few moments and responded with.

&quot;You should try to prioritize your [mana concentration] skill and use every sensory skill you obtain constantly so that you can't be easily caught of guard even though it will hurt like hell at the beginning.&quot;

&quot;Hmm...ok I will give it a shot.&quot;

And with that  Jake activated [mana concentration] for about 15seconds and he got a notification
{Mana limit has been exceeded. Excess mana will now cause deterioration}

'The hell wiki!!?' 

&quot;Chill out. Try to focus it on your tentacles.&quot; wiki replied with a smile in it voice.

&quot;fuuu.&quot; 

Taking a deep breath Jake then generated four tentacles which he imbued mana into. His tentacles then obtained a brilliant blue glow.

Jake proceeded to smash the walls of the cavity he was in.

Boom! boom! boom! boom!

His hits echoed throughout the dungeon. He feels the mana in his body deplete.

After about a week of dying from stumbling on traps, agitating a horde of monsters and random adventurer encounters, After an unknown amount of time Jake was currently in the middle of a three day long run and was taking into account all the... discrepancies of the dungeon while munching and a sonic bat carcass.

&quot;what the fuck? the monsters keep getting stronger after each day and they respawn after a day with an increase in their numbers.&quot; Jake said angrily.

Behind the palace was a massive arena that looked like the great Roman Colosseum. Arabic looking palace, Roman backyard. This country was just all over the place aesthetically.

Though I supposed if Regulus was fantasy Rome and there used to be a Regulanen colony here, then that made sense. It also made sense why the capital of this country faced the inland lake rather than the ocean, across that lake was the northern half of the continent. It was, unsurprisingly, known as the Great Gao Lake.

Before facing the King Jamukha however, we were led to a dressing room for gladiators. Mannequins wore all sorts of gladiatorial garb and weapons, as might be expected from such a fabulous heritage. I poked one which had an ornate basket helmet, metal wraps around the arms, silver greaves and boots, a chain-covered kilt to protect the groin and thigh area, and a round shield for the left arm – basically an outfit that protected everything except the chest and stomach of the wearer.

"Are we expected to wear these?" I asked.

"Oh, no. In a simple spar with His Beastliness, there is no need for such outlandish accouterments."

Behind me was Chancellor Glatz, the avian beastkin from earlier. His wings were as gray as his hair, and his robes were a shade of off-white only slightly darker than the rest of him. He had a thick and prominent mustache that reached down past his chin. He pointed to another manikin with a decent-looking padded jack (1).

"Though for your protection, I recommend you wear some padding. A shield might be useful too." Then he muttered under his breath "Like everyone knows the King isn't going to wear any of that."

Uh, having a bunch of old guys in my dressing room is kinda making me uncomfortable. "Uh. Right. Thanks." I made a small shrug and asked "What was that some other business you wanted to discuss with me before the fighting?"

"Ah, my apologies. Please forgive us, goodman Zah. His Beastliness is the person who cannot resist fighting anyone who he thinks is strong. In truth, we are all quite bothered by it too."

"It's fine. It's somewhat refreshing to me, in Belfast there's only a few people who would be fortright enough to forego the rules of courtesy to challenge directly. People who seek strength only for strength, rather than power or status."

I thought about them. There's the Viscount Sordrick. And I supposed Zorah.

They were also quite annoying people.

Huh.

One of the other ministers presented to me a wooden sword. It looked somewhat like the Roman spatha(2), but with a longer two-handed grip. It came with a thicker blade obviously due to wood not having the same structural strength as steel. I tested its grip, balance, and swing.

Whoosh. Whoosh. The sword cut a good draft in the air. The sword blade was dull but the wood it was made of was dark and hard, almost copper-red in color. It was very rigid, and somewhat heavier than a real sword. The two-handed grip with a heavy metal pommel was necessary to put balance back towards the wrist. Was this ironwood?

"A good sword. Heck, if the edge was sharpened, this could do some real damage. As it is, if the King's sword is like this I'm going to have to fear some broken bones."

"Oh no! No, you need not fear for that!" spoke the minister who handed me the sword. "His Beastliness will be using a softer wood sword, as usual. The sword must be easy to break in case he fails to control his strength."

"I see. That's not encouraging…"

"We are here to tell you that you need not hold back!" Chancellor Glatz added. "Fight your hardest! Don't worry about hurting His Beastliness! In fact we would be truly grateful if you caused him some serious pain!"

Wait, what. "Wait, hang on. Isn't he your liege? Is it okay to be telling things like that to some random stranger from outside the kingdom?"

"It would be okay to tell it to some random citizens living inside the kingdom!" someone immediately backed up Glatz. "No one minds it! Everyone knows his Beastliness always looks down on the importance of state affairs!"

Another spoke up: "There are times when he just disappears and we find him training with the soldiers, overpowering every single one of them!"

"There was a time when he got an idea for a new weapon and just walked out of the room while someone was talking and went straight to the blacksmith. We had to apologize to the visitor and our schedule for the rest of the day was just ruined!"

"Don't forget what he said about starting a grand tournament… did he even consider the budget?! We have no budget for grand displays just giving money away! If he wants to have strong fighters, then just pay the army more to train soldiers the regular way!"

The ministers then all huddled together in a circle with arms on each other's shoulders. I think I could almost hear a sob.

Chancellor Glatz looked up with a strange look on his face. "Help us, Sir Playa! You are our only hope."

Nope I am completely compartmentalizing this type of behavior.

I went out to the bright morning light of the arena to a dull roar. The audience was made of my friends and colleagues, all the ministers of Mismede, and many soldiers of their army ranked Captain and above. Rather than clapping, it seemed they expressed appreciation by stomping feet.

The King was already at the center of the arena with both muscled arms raised high, hamming it up and building hype for his challenger. He had a regular sword that looked that looked like a one-handed cutlass with a basket hilt in his big beefy hands and a round shield that was more proportionally a buckler strapped onto his left arm.

I chose to forego a shield because I had no training in using them anyway. I'd have to rely on my advantage in speed.

"Good, you didn't back out! I'm really happy about that!" King Jamukha greeted me, rubbing at his nose like some schoolboy. "Let's have a good fight!"

The referee began to start the bout. "The fight will last until one side receives a hit or an injury that would be fatal with real swords or if one side admits defeat. The use of magic is permitted for both sides."

I raised an eyebrow. Then again, comparing how big the King was, a purely physical fight just looked so dashed unfair.

"However, offensive magic aimed directly at your opponent is forbidden. Do both parties agree to follow these rules?"

No offensive magic? That's… fine. I glanced aside to see that among the girls, Yae and Yumina had the most intense looks trying to commit this spectacle of swordery to memory. Linze yelled down "Good luck, Mister Zah! Fight-o!"

And Elze "Get your ass beat, Playa!"

Elze why.

I turned back towards the King and asked "You sure about this?"

"Heheheh. Of course! Don't you dare hold back!" He was a snow leopard beastkin with a large white brush mustache. He looked a bit old, with a lined face, but I wondered how much of that was really age and not laugh lines and skin wear and tear under the sun. The white hair threw off real estimates of his age. 

He was so huge, it would be stupid to underestimate him. Those damn hard muscles might as well be natural armor. "Use all you have an' try to win! I'd be insulted if you try to hold back just because of my crown, and you won't like that!"

The referee with the tall goat horns raised his hand high, looked at both fighters, then chopped his hand down. "Ready… BEGIN!"

Paf. Paf.

Two small craters appeared on the sand floor of the arena.

Next thing everyone realized was a crash as the two fighters were abruptly in the middle of the arena, the King with his sword pointed down, blocking a strike towards his right side hip.

His eyes glittered and his face opened up in delight, with a big wide grin showing all of his teeth. "You're fast! No feelin' out the enemy, you go full speed for the kill at the start!" he said  with a full belly laugh. "I LIKE IT!"

I grinned back. "Red wunz go fasta."

"Heh heh he. Not bad. Not bad at all!" Then he forced me off the blade lock with his superior natural strength and swung again in a stab-cut.

I disengaged to avoid, and then he surged forward in a barrel rush. "Faster! Faster! You have to do better than that!" He swung his sword at such speed and power I couldn't hope to block them. With our difference in height, he had the advantage in reach.

I stepped back again and again, having to give way.

King Jamukha roared out "Don't just dodge! Fight!"

The King made a big heavy overhead chop with his sword that I side-stepped easily. But then abruptly with great effort on his part it abruptly changed directions 90-degrees like an L into a horizontal slash. I leaned backwards Matrix-style and watched the swing pass over me.

But that took my eye off him and left me open for a follow-through punch, the momentum of his right arm swinging the sword pulling the other side of his body.

That is, if I hadn't raised my right leg - and as his left fist made contact with the sole of my boot, that was enough to fling me up and away. I flipped smoothly in the air, and with a soft puff on the sands landed cleanly on both feet some distance away. Still facing my opponent.

The King stopped and stood straight up. His spotted white tail made small confused side to side motions as if trying to seek a counter-balance. "Swooping Swallow style…" he mumbled with raised eyebrows. "How ever did a human manage to learn that?"

I see. I guess with the differences in actual physical abilities between the beastkin it also made sense they also had distinct fighting styles. Kind of like the Animal Forms of Kung Fu. (3) Tiger, Snake, Dragon, Crane, Monkey, etc.

"I am a leaf in the wind!" I replied.

"Good for you! But trying to tire me out? That won't work."  He grinned again and bent down. He muttered something under his breath and then shouted "EVEN LEAVES CAN BE CUT!"

Paf.

With another crater in the sand, the king disappeared.

Paf.

And me too.

"I can finally get you animals out of my house! Hahaha!" Rook rejoiced as we got back into the military truck carrying all sorts of luggage. I didn't want to say it was convenient that one of us died but… there certainly was more space for luggage now.
We all entered one by one and surprisingly, Kaiser sat at the front. The more I lingered around him the stranger he seemed. For one, he knew too much.
Not from an 'I need to kill him point of view' but rather as in the knowledge he held was too broad for a citizen of Termina. The breadth of his knowledge went from first aid skills to battle strategy. Put like that, they actually weren't that broad. They were military skills.
The drive was easy and smooth. The aftermath of the giant snake was surprisingly small. The news on television didn't speak much of it. All it did was praise the so-called disquisitive party for their bravery in confronting such a vile mutant.
I didn't really buy any of it but I also didn't pay it too much mind. Kaiser's words were still lingering in my mind. A hit job.
The drive to Termina was most of all silent. There even seemed to be a trace of disappointment in the eyes of some as they entered the dark underground tunnel and were no longer illuminated by sunlight.
"Kaiser, we'll keep in touch. The rest of you… Let's not see each other again, k?" Rook said with a smile on his face before jumping into his vehicle and dashing off as if to run away from something. That was of course only the impression it gave off, in reality, that was his normal driving.
We thus bid farewell to the… Rook. The guy had quite a personality. And we were welcomed by the other members of this mafia-like gang.
"Kaiser, how did things go eh?" We were welcomed in by another of Kaiser's friends, this was Wesley. The middle-aged man seemed to have kept the gang in a good spot, Termina was split into multiple parts each with usually a ruling gang but that didn't mean that small gangs were non-existent.
The slums of Termina were filled to the brim with all sorts of low lives so even if they weren't part of a gang they weren't necessarily people with nice intentions. The chances of the place suffering from a couple of attacks after word got out that the boss and many of the core members were missing wouldn't be an odd occurrence.
"They went well" Was all Kaiser said in return before leading the charge up the stairs. Jimmy stayed behind faithful to his duty.
As everyone settled back down into their respective positions and conversations of the event started to go around all sorts of boisterous bragging and laughter was heard followed by what was finally a deep silence. This was only temporary.
"So… David… I heard you and your wife divorced hehehe" Someone brought up a different type of unsavory topic. David who didn't expect to be suddenly called out felt his blood pressure rise through the roof.
"Sh- She's just saying things! She'll- She'll come around again" David reasoned. The poor man was clearly broken. I decided to step down from it all. I exited the building under Jimmy's questioning gaze.
"Remember the password and come back in two hours, Kaiser will call a meeting for sure" Jimmy told me afraid that I would stay out too long.
I shrugged off his warning since I actually didn't plan on going very far.
I grabbed a military knife which was holstered covertly at my side and admired it for a couple of seconds. It was weighty. Was it the weight of a weapon of murder?
Maybe, but I wasn't that sentimental. I gripped the knife and performed a couple of simple slashes. Though perhaps rather than simple crude was a better way to phrase them.
I knew something was wrong so I tried to review the grip on my knife. I had taken a couple of knife fighting tips from a wiki page at one point but there was no way I'd remember such a thing in vivid detail.
All I could do was try and get as comfortable as possible while making sure to point the knife away from me at all times.
Knife fighting was all about being agile. Why? Well, with such a small weapon it was impossible to expect much more. Defensive knife fighting required one to be ready to back duck and back away from attacks in a timely fashion. It sounded somewhat obvious and redundant but in a real battle keeping something like that in mind was actually fairly difficult.
One was more likely to simply lunge forward without paying much mind to incoming attacks. Thus, even if the other person was unarmed it was best to remain wary as you could be easily unarmed. If they were also armed with a knife you'd be pretty much screwed.
But knowing these things didn't do me any good. I kept lunging and slashing like a complete imbecile for a couple of minutes before finally giving up.
"I need an instructor…" A couple of names flashed past my mind, this ranged from Kaiser to even Seamus. His dismembering technique was definitely impressive but I was too afraid to ask him how he learned it.
In that case, the only other strong candidate I could think of was… Jimmy. The man was always manning the door but that didn't mean his skills were dull.
On the contrary, he had to be an expert. That alone wasn't what convinced me he would make for a good role model, however. It was the maturity he demonstrated in both the prey prairie and Eden.
"I wonder if he'll agree though" I hadn't fostered any kind of friendship with him so I highly doubted that a busy person like himself would acquiesce.
But after knocking on the door, telling him the password, and asking him directly I found out that my worries were unfounded.
"Sure I'll do it"  He hadn't even hesitated.
"I thought you might be busy" I said to try and create some conversation,
"Busy? Pfft, busy with what? Staring at this fucking door?" He retorted before standing up from his seat.
"Now come at me" He said before cracking his knuckles.
I looked down at the knife I still held in hand and felt that it was perhaps somewhat unfair.
"Please, you haven't even learned to walk, so how can you beat me in a run?" Jimmy responded evidently looking down on me. I didn't find fault with him though since I knew it was true.
I simply clenched my knife in one hand and thrust out.

Dan Owens is a young man followed by calamity. His whole life a series of unfortunate events. He who was tired of living, woke up only to find himself in a completely different place.

Termina. The last bastion of mankind in the fight against the mutant beasts that plague the surface.

Will the good for nothing Dan be able to cope with his new situation? Or will he remain stuck at the bottom of the ladder, never to reach new heights? One thing's for certain, he needs to pay his phone bill!

This planet is extremely vulnerable to others but is not attacked because of the stigma around it. Rumours speak of a Demonic siren laying waste in it Harbering the lives of all that live in it. Traitors and Deceivers of their order are banished or executed. The planet is also ruled by the Order of the Impending Storm, a monastic sect dedicated to non-violence and studying Sirens. Bunch of losers I tell yah.








No much is known of The planets geographical area but what is, is that the planet is similar to earth with minor changes to the environment. New species of plant and animals roam the forests and lush with some predators having minor to drastic. The planet is also known to have an extremely diverse amount of water life contributing to the colour of the planet which is mainly blue as land only takes 33% in total landmass with the rest being water. This is also the reason why it is rainy and cloudly at all times. This planet also has two moons. Almost exactly the opposite of Pandora with its deserts cursing the lands. Being isolated from most of the world they also lack a way to see wanted posters.








Arriving at Athena's I saw many people scared some pointed weapons their looks worried and anxious. It seemed as if my very presence scared them straight to their hearts, daggers almost pressed deeply into it. I arrived in the largest colony where many populated the homes of the city. Why do they have weapons? That's kind of stranger I thought they were peace lovers.








"Who are you, Stranger? And what do you seek on our peaceful planet?" An elder of sorts questioned his staff pointed towards me.








"Peaceful isn't the word I would say right now but I came here looking for someone... and to give a gift of sorts I heard your people are quite fond of peace. I have the equipment in my ship if you allow me to stick around here for a few night's I will be gone in a jiffy." I explained raising my hands up signalling my stance on the situation.








"You have quite the arsenal," The elder smiled seeing me only have a dagger. My sword was currently being disguised as a dagger.








"They say big surprises come in small packages." I smiled back before going to the back and grabbing a mass shield drive with shield cells.








"Here you guys go. You'll be safe whenever or whoever attacks," Dracule replied pulling them out and giving it to them.








"A merchant aye? It seems you do come in good intentions. Boys take this away I will talk to this man here." The elder smiled now greeting me formally.








"I'm fine thank you. Now If you excuse me I'll be going," I replied before informing felicity to roam the outskirts of the planet and report her findings on any strange signals while I investigate down below.








"No please come we are our having our yearly festival come to celebrate. We have amazing dishes I know you'll love," The elder smiled.








"Hmm, alright It won't hurt to try," I smiled.








"Keep me updated. I'm going to mingle with the locals to see if I can get any information from them. I'm gonna act like an awkward teenager to lower there guard. See you soon." I muttered to felicity.








Arriving at the festival I was shocked to see them parading around a totem of what seemed to be a siren and before dancing to music similar to that of his old earth. How mice... Strange it sounds almost like earth. Looking at the dishes I was also disgusted. Live animals were being eaten alive.








'Yuck,' I thought to myself before going back to the Elder.








"So... Ah... I was wondering have I been the only merchant who's arrived here on this plant? Or um... has there been anything strange that's been going on?" I asked.








"No, but I there was a strange ship that came here it been here for a while now. We are afraid to go near it and have just stayed here and stopped any from straying near it," The elder responded.








"A ship huh, thank you very, very much Oldman you've done me quite the favour." I thanked.








"No worries young man. You've done a tremendous favour. Hardly any Merchant comes here. We have no money to be quite frank. Our people have kept our peaceful stance in this galaxy for years we intend to keep it that way forever." The elder explained determined.








"Dracule I have sightings of the ship he was talking about it seems whoever was driving it has disappeared," Felicity stated.





Walking away I bumped into a stunning female wearing cultural clothing. Seeing her I froze for the first time in a long while. Seeing her, her eyes pierced through me. Standing there it felt it like the world froze as the music slowly filled the atmosphere. Hearing my heart pulse I snapped my self out of it. Seeing my glasses on the ground I quickly grabbed them.








"Well ain't she stunning..." Dracule muttered seeing the blue-haired beauty.

(Guess who's P.O.V)




I thought this was going to be just another festival where we would always just dance and eat but today. I met someone different. He gave me different vibes. He wasn't anyone I knew as well and he seemed nice and handsome. Oh well it not like he's going to bump into me or anything.




Closing my eyes I stood at the edge of the parade before being bumped into. opening my eyes, I saw him. With his glasses, his eyes were revealed. Seeing them I was sucked into them hypnotizing me as it stared back. Seeing him he quickly grabbed his glasses and apologized.


He stood tall with golden eyes and slick black hair. Aswell as Wearing a Black long-sleeved t-shirt and Long pants. Down his waist were a dagger and two submachine guns. He seemed to be packing. (AN: *Wink* *Wink*)




"Who are you?" I asked my eyes Fixated onto his. His hands seeming to shake a little. He also wore a ring but on his binky. Its design was complex with many lines extending inward and outward.




"Uhm... I'm... Dave the merchant it's ah great to meet you," he awkwardly stated.




"I see your lonely as well... wanna dance?" I offered before a long pause between us occurred.




"Of course," he smiled closing his eyes. Taking my hand he danced graciously taking me on a ride I fell to his trance.




Dancing the sun eventually fell the evening stars shining up ahead. He and I sweating from dancing smiled. Stopping we eventually stood there silently as the world swirled around us. Feeling her press onto me my heart started to pump faster my blood rushing throughout my blood.




Seeing him look into my eyes the stars started to twinkle. Grabbing me by chin he paused biting his lip before walking away.




"I'm... Ah... going to go get a drink," I stated awkwardly before disappearing into the crowd. Trying to chase him he had already disappeared. The void that was once filled my heart emptied again.


"I didn't even get his name..." I stated out loud.




"Maybe it's for the best," I muttered.

They called me a murderer, I called them dead. Walking past their dead bodies, stacks of money-filled my pockets. Reborn I seek to roam this world. May it be for the worst or the best.
