I'm disappointed by this development. I thought he was cooking up some scheme to steal some canon power for himself, but the author just went and handed him some made-up method to grow stronger. It's not entirely bad, but it definitely is disappointing.

it's not as dramatic or as exciting as the canon arc but it still feels good. Maybe it would have been better if Haku put up more of a fight but it's stll acceptable
Ren used chakra flow mid-strike and his sword was suddenly covered with a layer of wind nature chakra. Ren's sword cut through Haku's senbons and before Haku could react slashed through his neck. Ren didn't attack after that as Haku's body collapsed on the ground and then his head separated from his body.

But in my humble opinion, it would seem that the Minister was shocked that the son of the previous head of house Bones, Edgar Bones, a noted and respected man, acknowledge as one of the best in his generation, known resister of Death Eaters and their master, and who unfortunately fell along side almost all of the Bones family half a year before the celebrated fall of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, lived.
