I don't know how everybody commenting on this can be wrong. They all learn bending the same way the Avatar learned soul bending, from the tiger turtles. They did learn their techniques from the things around them.

lol His bow force is a level higher than his spear force. And spear force has nothing to do with throwing or projectiles. And until not too long ago, he couldn't even hold a spear because the ring didn't consider him a good enough spearman, he had to use the ones from the ring. So if he had even attempted to use a javelin like a spear, the ring would have destroyed it.

I'm putting money on that he figured out what forces is and is able to manipulate it to the point he's trying to change his past.
But what she was most interested in knowing was why was it that he was so happy about his failure… It felt like she was looking through a mirror… On one side, there was the Leonel who was still looking for his answers, and on the other side, it seemed that there was another Leonel who had finally gained his answer.

I see it increasing in strength by a couple of orders of magnitudes but also limiting its area of effect.

No, because the ice is still a mana construct. What anthony is doing is creating a semi singularity. It's nowhere near powerful enough or stable enough to sustain itself, but it's a physical manifestation that isn't made out of mana.
