I think one of many reasons why readers are so against June is because she doesn't has any FL qualities. She had some potentials but gone as quickly as their romance started. June was introduced to this story as struggling actress who had skill, passion and naivete. She had her pride and is someone unwilling to compromised herself to the dark side of Hollywood. Admirable but nothing special. Their romance could be summed up with 'she's desperated and conveniently there'. That's all there is. MC never show any strong attachments to June. He's a little attracted to her. That's what happened when a guy meet a pretty girl whom he found had a good personality and like him, on top of that, they had a chance to stay at the same place for a month. Every hints that she gave, MC could nonchalantly ignored and brushed off. When she confessed her feeling, MC said no. He simply saw a clear picture of what would happened next if June wanted to persue her dream and he still focused on his ambition. June had shifted her priorities that moment onward. She immediately go for 'I love you' jumped on MC lap and more. (I would not comment on the scene that followed after). Meanwhile MC (who was being considerate for her career a moment before) quickly boarded the idea and sealed the deal. Who could blame him? He already pointed out the truth. He'd done his part. She clearly desperately wanted to be with him more than to care about her career. So June became just that. A good girlfriend who conveniently there for MC. The insecurities and new goal in life that author tried to sell as a realistic aspect of their relationship/her character development later on wasn't convincing. She showed no life and no solid character to be lovable FL. Her friends and relatives were non-existent, even when MC admitted he had the same problem, he still had his uncle Ben and so on. For June, there's one time Amanda said there would be a girls' night and that was it. Everyone in that group was someone June got closed to because MC. Every aspect of her life (fears , insecurities, goals, circle of friends) revolves around MC. No smart, independent, and prideful girl would to that to herself. So, no, at this moment only a very, very powerful plot armor could help her established a successful studio. And many readers still called it bs. June will always be the same desperate girl in delusion who is there beside MC. Not a strong, independent woman with clear goal. An accessories. Nothing more, nothing less. Please be give more justice to you FL, author. Give the girl a chance to break off the relationship and grow up a bit or just let her admit the reality and became comfortable with her skin enough to flaunting her boyfriend or sassing the haters. Let she established herself as a successful actress first. Heck, at least please give the girl a group of besties that's not from MC circles.
And the desire to start her own studio and make it the next big thing increased after she felt that she had no power or influence to stop such questions from the interviewers.
