I think I love this explanation for why King's Cross station goes unnoticed more than any other. It fits so well with the sort of stereotypical British response of scurrying your children away from the weirdos but otherwise leaving it all to be someone else's problem.
What he wasn't expecting, and neither were the muggles at King's Cross based on their reactions, was a flood of LARPers invading the station.

Author, if you ever do a rewrite... this plot line feels a bit forced. Feels like you were so focused on humanizing Harry after how horrific the gaslighting was that you ignored the practicality of his forgetting the risk of Neville being a Horcrux, regardless of magic crests.
"I know it's not my fault, but I should have seen it. I spent two hours a week with him for fuck's sake. The jump in ability, his unstable temper, they were all signs, and I should have realized what was happening. I should have been objective, but I felt too guilty about what happened last year and willfully closed my eyes to the truth and Warrington almost died for that…"

Author, is Harry not jumping to the possible conclusion of horcrux because he's being overly reliant on his hearing? Similar to how the diary was able to hide from him?
It didn't explain the temperament changes though. Neville has become increasingly short-tempered and prone to anger since the previous summer.

Love everything up to this point but I think taking on multiple antagonist plot lines without the slightest resolution is quickly inducing conflict fatigue in this reader at least.
This entire thing was a trap in the making and Harry felt like a fly caught in a web. The tournament, the spectators, the stakes - it all felt like an elaborate setup. He was being manoeuvred into a corner, and he really didn't like it.

It's really difficult to find HP fanfics that lean towards a poetic imagery for magic rather than "I pictured a light switch hooked up to a sun, and so I created a solus maxima that can burn a bajillion miles". I also really enjoy the fact that the 'dark side' is truly seductive, not to mention magic itself. Great job!

It's the problem with extremist political views on both sides. The pendulum of power and popularity swings so harshly that what originally started as something well reasoned to address a concern of the time quickly gets lost and then "this is how we do things" happens.
"Many of the magical world's traditions are archaic. Most are in dire need of being updated. However, logic is prevalent in everything humans do, whether muggle or magical. The next time your mind goes to how ridiculous something about the wizarding world is, think about it. Is it truly foolish, or is there some reason behind it that you're just not understanding?"
