Tbh I think its completely justified, putting this into context minimum wage makes you around 1200$ a month, so 700 gold coins loss is roughly $840000 which is pretty huge, though I would think Yuan Tu should take most of the blame. Also this is a cultivation novel so I'm assuming some strong cultivator (maybe mayor?) has a monopoly over all these spirit apples.

Thanks for the chapter author! Just my opinion, but maybe you should not do the ETA's for the chapters until you feel comfortable writing on a steady schedule again. Most of the readers here have experienced bumps in the updates before so we don't mind waiting a week or even more for a chapter, but putting unnecessary expectations that you won't be able to meet loads more pressure on yourself as well as giving readers false hope. As long as the quality doesn't drop I don't mind 1 chapter/week! Thanks again for the chapter and hope everything's going well!

For later chapters, how does this impact battle mechanics? Wouldn't having a smaller qi core put your at a disadvantage?
A shorter awakening time would mean you had a small Qi Core, making cultivation easier. Trying to fill your Qi Core with Qi would take less time and effort, and compressing your Qi when attempting a breakthrough would be much easier, since you had less Qi to compress.
